Pixsy Offers Media Search Platform to Infospace Properties

Pixsy Corporation, provider of private label video and image search, announced that it has inked a distribution partnership with Infospace. With the agreement, Infospace will utilize Pixsy’s advance media search platform in offering video and image search to its network of properties and affiliates.

“We chose Pixsy for their ability to quickly and easily syndicate their large multimedia index and search technology to our large base or European publishers,” said John Thornhill, VP Infospace Europe. “The freshness of the Pixsy index provides a unique product offering to our users.”

Pixsy powers video and image search experiences for leading brands including Comcast, Lycos, Travelocity, National Lampoon, Veoh and others. The growing “powered by Pixsy” network of websites reaches an audience of over 35 million unique users every month.

Media search platform provider Pixsy has sealed a distribution partnership with visual search engine Ditto.

Under the deal Ditto will utilize Pixsy’s media search platform to power consumer image search on destination search property Ditto.com and across its network of partners and affiliates.

Ditto.com is a visual search engine that is pitches as an “easier for people to find what they are looking for when they are looking at it.” Ditto attempts to deliver relevant thumbnail images and relevant web sites underlying those images.

Pixsy Lands National Lampoon Deal

Media search platform provider Pixsy has announced a distribution partnership with National Lampoon that will see Pixsy provide its media search platform to National Lampoons five million users.

Pixsy offers an advanced white label media search service that allows sites to offer custom branded video and image search. National Lampoon will use the service to offer comedy and entertainment search both for content from National Lampoon and elsewhere, creating new search activity and targeted advertising inventory.

Pixsy hasn’t dominated the headlines like some other providers in this space, but it has quietly built up a client base among a range of other startups. Recent deals include Veoh and Lastminute.com. A full list of sites using Pixsy’s platform can be viewed here.
