Steve Carell is channeling his inner Siegfried and Roy for his new role as Burt Wonderstone in the new movie with the same name.

The world got its first glimpse of Carell donning his magician’s wig today and its… fantastic.

Carell plays Burt Wonderstone, a mainstay on the Vegas strip, who has to compete with a new magician in town, played by Jim Carrey. If that isn’t enough to get you excited for “Burt Wonderstone,” the movie also stars Alan Arkin, Olivia Wilde, James Gandolfini, and Steve Buscemi.

Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:

“After breaking up with his longtime stage partner, a famous but jaded Vegas magician fights for relevance when a new, “hip” street magician appears on the scene.”

Here’s another look of Steve Carell, Steve Buscemi, and Olivia Wilde in “Burt Wonderstone.”

Carell looks like a natural magician, doesn’t he? It’s probably because he’s played another famous, and terrible, magician… Michael Scott.

“Burt Wonderstone” doesn’t have a release date yet but Cinema Blend reports that if production continues smoothly it may be out by the end of this year.

Cowboy and Aliens actress Olivia Wilde visited the Andy LeCompte Salon in West Hollywood on Thursday where she had a good sized portion of her hair cut off to reveal a new hairdo.

While her hair use to run well below her neckline the actress this time around opted for a wavy shoulder length cut. In the meantime her hair color and sweeping bangs stayed in place.

There appears to be a lot new in Wilde’s life, she has also recently been romantically linked to Saturday Night Live’s Jason Sudekis after the possible couple were spotted out at a University of Kansas basketball game in December and then again earlier this week in New York City.

You may recall that Olivia Wilde divorced her husband of eight years in October, it looks like she’s finally at that “moving on and changing a bunch of stuff about my life” phase. Plus with House coming to an end what better time then the present to make a change.

In the meantime Wilde recently joined Revlon cosmetics as one of the company’s new faces, it will be interesting to see what they think of her new haircut.

According to reports, Wilde – who filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, Tao Ruspoli, earlier this year – and Sudeikis – a Kansas native who was previously linked to actress January Jones – both donned KU caps to cheer on Jason’s beloved Jayhawks, and they even smiled and posed together when they were displayed on the arena’s big screen during a time-out.

While neither Jason nor Olivia have “officially” announced their relationship, things between the pair appear to be getting more serious, as earlier this month Sudeikis brought her to an “SNL” afterparty and Wilde even made a cameo appearance on the show earlier in the season.

“It’s not easy. It’s the hardest thing in the world,” Wilde – whose divorce from husband Tao Ruspoli was finalized on September 29th – told the New York Post in a recent interview.

Wilde, 27, added that there was no excusable reason for people to attack Kim when there are far more scandalous events going on in the world.

“People judge you because divorce is seen as failure. (Kim) took a risk. No one should be attacking her. Our attention should be focused on things that are truly scandalous,” Olivia said.

Despite Olivia Wilde’s kind words for Kardashian, its obvious that not everyone shares her empathy towards the 31-year-old celebutante.

Just this Wednesday, it was reported that an online petition began to boycott the Kardashian family from being on television.

As of this posting, the petition, called “No More Kardashian,” has more than 129,000 signatures as well as a Facebook page dedicated to sharing the cause with more than 50,000 fans.

“In a grassroots effort, we have collected [thousands of] signatures for a petition asking E! Entertainment to remove the Kardashian suite of shows from their programming… We feel that these shows are mostly staged and place an emphasis on vanity, greed, promiscuity, vulgarity and over-the-top conspicuous consumption,” petition organizer Cyndy Snider told Yahoo! in a recent statement explaining the reason behind her movement.

As Thirteen was making her final appearance on “House,” Olivia Wilde was looting the set of the Fox tv show. Wilde, who officially left the show last night, took a few souvenirs home to remind her of the four years she spent on the medical drama.

Wilde told Showbizspy.com:

“I did take one or two things to remind me of the good times. I have a few things at home. Like, I used to take home the stethoscopes because they look cool and a fun to play with but we don’t seem to have them anymore. I think they all got stolen so it wasn’t just me.”

Wilde, who has appeared in hit movies like Tron: Legacy, and Cowboys & Aliens this year, decided to leave the show so that she can focus more on her movie career. Wilde also said that Thirteen’s departure fits well with the character.

Wilde said:

“There’s a few good reasons for [Thirteen] not to be working anymore as a doctor. She’s had a disease for a number of years and she doesn’t necessarily have that many years left. At this point she’s struggling with that dilemma. But of course it’s always up to House. No matter how much he drives them crazy, he’s still the most compelling and dynamic person to work for. And ultimately, it’s resolved for her.”

Wilde, who Justin Timberlake just called “the hottest mom” ever, knows that her time on “House” helped her to launch her movie career, and she won’t be quick to forget it.

Wilde said:

“My work has gotten so much better from learning from Hugh and the other actors and working with this writing staff.  I see it as a chapter, a really important chapter in my life, and one that will affect me for my entire career.”

Olivia Wilde (27) is three years younger than Justin Timberlake (30), but still plays his mother in new thriller In Time.

It’s an interesting factoid that probably says something about Hollywood’s attitude to women over 30, but the former ‘N Sync star doesn’t seem too bothered. Indeed, in his recent interview with The Insider, Timberlake recalled telling Wilde, “You’re officially the hottest movie mom of all time.” The charmer.

In Time marks a fresh direction for the singer-cum-actor in that it’s an action film.

That means there shall be much kicking of asses and firing of guns and other manly behavior. To be honest, the plot sounds a bit rubbish – it’s a futuristic world where the rich get to stay young and the poor have to beg and scrimp to stay looking young and my god it sounds even worse now I’ve written it down.

Still, it seemed to make a dent in Old Man Timberlake’s brain, who says it forced him to rethink his approach to life:

“[...] Especially doing this movie too, it’s like it really made it apparently clear to me — it’s like you should appreciate things more. Stop running so much and take some time.”

Pretty deep, man. In Time opens in US theaters on October 28th.

Olivia Wilde will be saying goodbye to “House” tonight as her character Thirteen leaves the show. Hugh Laurie’s fictional character will undoubtedly drowned out his pain with pills during tonight’s episode, but the Golden Globe winning actor is a little more open about his feelings than his fictional counterpart.

Laurie said:

“There is a great sadness that Olivia is leaving us and moving on… Although it never came as any great surprise to anybody. Olivia was like a gunpowder fuse that was lit 15 years ago. Olivia is a real delight to be around and we will miss her very, very much. She’s obviously headed for great things.”

Wilde says that there are a number of reasons for thirteen to be ending her occupation as a doctor. But the actress admitted that the real reason for her departure is so that she can focus on her movie career.

Wilde said:

“It’s been an extraordinary time on the show for me. My work has gotten so much better from learning from Hugh and the other actors and working with this writing staff.  I see it as a chapter, a really important chapter in my life, and one that will affect me for my entire career. It’s a strange feeling thinking I won’t be coming here every morning, but all I feel is gratitude. My film career is thanks to House.”

Olivia Wilde made her debut on “House” in 2007. Since then she’s scored roles in Tron: Legacy, Cowboys & Aliens, and The Change-Up. According to IMBD, Wilde also has 8 movies scheduled over the next two years.

“We’d read the script and I would say, ‘Here’s something my mom might do’, or, ‘Here’s the way my mom might say it’. I think she really looked to me to give her those little things because she had the trickier job in our scenes.”

For the time lapse drama, director Andrew Niccol said it was a challenge to select actors and actresses who could believably play an older character while appearing to be in their mid-twenties. Niccol elaborates:

“I went on a search for these old souls… Even for a small role like a priest, where you typically cast a worn-out 75-year-old character actor, I now had to find a worn-out 75-year-old character actor in a 25-year-old body.”

Of Wilde, he says:

“She just inhabited the role… Olivia has something about her — a maturity that’s way beyond her years.”

For others in the cast, Niccol chose Amanda Seyfried as Timberlake’s love interest. Cillian Murphy, of Inception and 28 Days Later was also cast, as was Vincent Galecki.

The role that is bandied about but never seems to come to the silver screen- Linda Lovelace’s biopic chronicling her fame after the release of seminal (heh heh heh) porn film Deep Throat- may be next on the docket for Cowboys and Aliens actress Olivia Wilde.

Don’t get this version confused with the one Lindsay Lohan was originally slated to headline- her shoes were filled last year by Malin Akerman after Lohan was cut from the project. Wilde has reportedly been considering a role in a different movie surrounding the same story for quite some time, but she recently fanned the flames of those rumors by gushing about the potential to appear in a Lovelace tribute. Wilde said last week:

“It would be a tremendous honor… It’s such a cool role. She was a fascinating woman—with where she came from to Deep Throat to then working with Gloria Steinem and Nora Ephron. It’s really fascinating.” (She’s obviously done her research.)

She continued:

“I’m being very careful about my next project since I’m now in a position where I can be really picky—thank God, finally.”

Tao Ruspoli and Olivia Wilde were official divorced recently after filing in February however the couple appear to remain close after recently spending some time together in Venice, California with a friend at Rose 76 restaurant.

No reason was given for their meetup, although sources close to the couple say they have remained friends following their divorce.

Wilde met her ex-husband at Burning Man festival in the Nevada Desert when she was just 18 and he was 26, they later married on a school bus and then lived in the bus to satisfy their unconventional bohemian lifestyle.

With such an unconventional marriage it shouldn’t surprise many fans of the actress to know she’s still friends with her ex, the type of friendship we often don’t see from Hollywood stars after their splits which are often marred with behind the back talking and rude Tweets about their former partners.

Since their separation Wilde has been linked to Ryan Gosling and Justin Timberlake.

On the other hand Wilde recently admitted that it’s hard adjusting to single life:

 ’The trauma of the [divorce] has been humbling. And for the first time, I’m a little wobbly. I’m a case of arrested development, in a way — from spending your 20s with someone who really loves to take care of you, as my husband did.”

For now their meetup is purely speculative but I’m going with the “just friends” theory.

Of all the evil, terrifying and life-ending horrors that could befall a new homeowner or renter, the curse of sexlessness is probably pretty high up there.

According to Olivia Wilde, however, a no-boning hex has been placed upon her home. By the Jonas Brothers, no less! The sexy 27-year-old geek queen spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about the Jonas-induced dry spell she blames on the home she now inhabits- which was once the stomping grounds of Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas.

The no-sex hex, claims Wilde, is squarely the fault of the purity ring wearing trio. She told Jimmy Kimmel:

“We blame the Jonas Brothers for the lack of action in our house … it’s the ‘No sex hex’, Jimmy! Can’t do anything about it.’”

Wilde says the boys left behind a set of life-size cardboard Jonas cutouts, and they’re the only men in her bedroom of late:

“Sometimes I wake up, and my roommate has placed one standing over me.”

Last week, Director Jon Favreau continued his unconventional promotional campaign for Cowboys & Aliens by sitting down with actress Olivia Wilde for a heart-to-heart.

In the pow-wow, Favreau, who has been doing candid interviews of people involved with his upcoming film – due out on July 29th – for the past couple of weeks, talks with Wilde about horse-riding accidents on set, her recent work in Haiti, and her feelings on playing a lead role in Tron: Legacy.

The atypical, intimate, one-on-ones that Favreau has adopted, in lieu of your ordinary “behind-the-scenes videos” that most studios put out out prior to a release, are quite comical at times and definitely a needed break from the norm. The one complaint I do have ,however, is the broken-up format in which he releases them in.

Previous interviewees include producers Steven Speilberg, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer, and C&A co-star, Harrison Ford. If you missed either of those conversations, I highly suggest you check them out on Huffington Post.
