When OJ Simpson was sued in civil court over the Nicole Brown Simpson murder case he purchased a home in Florida, under state law your home can not be confiscated by the court in a civil lawsuit. While the move at the time was a smart decision on OJ’s part it looks as if he’ll be losing his home regardless of his move to the sunshine state.

According to court records JPMorgan Chase bank is foreclosing on the 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom residence OJ calls home in the city of Miami.

OJ purchased the home in 2000 for $575,000 however the home was recently assessed at just $478,401 thanks to the real estate bust.

It’s not exactly as if OJ Simpson was enjoying the home, he’s currently serving time in a Nevada prison for kidnapping, armed robbery and various other charges for his involvement in a 2007 incident in which he stole a bunch of sports memorabilia at gunpoint.

After the robbery OJ Simpson claimed that the memorabilia belonged to him and he was simply taking back his rightful property.

With Simpson serving a nine to 33 year prison sentence there’s a good chance he decided to simply let the home go. Simpson is still receiving federally protected money from his NFL pension and another retirement account. But why do you need to pay for a home when you’re getting three squares a day and a bed to sleep in.

Kris Jenner, former wife of late O.J. Simpson defense attorney Robert Kardashian and mother to Khloe, Kim and the rest of the Kardashian gang has revealed in her soon to be released memoir that she believes O.J. Simpson was guilty of murdering Nicole Brown Simpson.

In her memoir “Kris Jenner …and All Things Kardashian,” Kris claims that Nicole told her:

 “(O.J.’s) going to kill me and he’s going to get away with it.”

According to the book:

“(Nicole) was a wreck,” and “She was convinced that someone was looking in her windows and climbing through her bushes in the middle of the night.”

Kris goes on to say that Nicole Simpson called her on the night of June 12, 1994 and said to Kris:

“Can you get over here…? I need to talk to you–it’s really important.”

Jenner then told Nicole that she was “tied up” at the moment to which Nicole responded, “That’s okay, (but) can you meet me tomorrow for lunch?” while adding “I really have to talk to you about something really, really important.’

That was the last conversation the women ever had, less than 24 hours after the phone call Nicole Brown Simpson was found at murdered at the Brentwood home she shared with O.J. Simpson.

“I instinctively knew that in some way O.J. had something to do with her death,” writes Jenner. “I truly couldn’t believe she had been so betrayed by the person who she had once loved most. That O.J. would be so destructive and selfish and jealous. That he would do that to her was just mind-blowing to me. All these thoughts were running through my mind: This can’t be true.”

Jenner reveals in her book that she feels as if she “let her down” referring to Nicole, then again there was no possible way she could have known O.J. Simpson would take things so far.

It’s also important to keep in mind that Jenner was not married to Kardashian at the time of the trial, she had been with current husband Bruce Jenner for three years at the start of the trial.

In any case it had to be awkward to watch your ex-husband defend the man in court who most likely murdered one of your best friends.

Rumors began circulating yesterday that OJ Simpson would be appearing on Oprah to confess to the murder of his wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her companion.

If you’re too young to remember, Brown Simpson’s death and that of Ron Goldman sparked off a massive police chase in Los Angeles. The subsequent trial of OJ Simpson was the forerunner of media circus trials today, with wall to wall coverage of the proceedings in their entirety. Although it was widely believed Simpson was guilty of the crime, he was acquitted, and the verdict was racially divisive and controversial. He was later found civilly liable in the murders.

A new round of rumors about Simpson’s guilt were sparked by a Daily Mail article suggesting Simpson would confess to the murders on Oprah’s show. However, reps for Winfrey deny that OJ plans to confess on the program:

..representatives for Harpo, Oprah’s company, flatly told the Hollywood Reporter, “that’s not true.”

…During an appearance at a cable convention earlier this month, she said that her dream is to have Simpson confess to her.

“And I am going to make that happen people,” she said. “I don’t just want the interview. I want the interview on the condition that you are ready, Mr. Simpson.”

Simpson was later jailed for an unrelated offense but is currently free.

Earlier today, a Judge ordered that O.J. Simpson be released from jail immediately. Simpson has been released on bail pending an appeal hearing of his conviction for kidnapping, armed robbery and a multitude of other charges in 2008.

In September 2007, Simpson was arrested in Las Vegas, Nevada and charged with robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon, first-degree kidnapping with use of a deadly weapon, coercion with use of a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, and conspiracy to commit a crime.

During the trial, a jury found Simpson guilty of all charges on October 3, 2008. He was sentenced on December 5th to at least nine years in prison.

He was released from the Lovelock Correctional Center in Lovelock, Nevada, earlier today.

The O.J. Sentencing

A judge delivered O.J. Simpson’s sentencing Friday, saying the crime “was much more than stupidity.” Simpson, now 61, had claimed he was only trying to get back memorabilia and didn’t intend to steal anything. He reportedly cried as he delivered an emotional statement, claiming he was “sorry and confused.”

No Bail

Simpson will not be allowed to post bail in the time allotted for a potential appeal — and his lawyers have already indicated they do plan to appeal.

Conviction Connection

O.J. Simpson had been convicted exactly 13 years after being acquitted in the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and friend Ron Goldman. This time around, a Las Vegas jury found Simpson guilty of barging into a room with five other men at the Palace Station hotel and taking expensive memorabilia at gunpoint. He was convicted on 12 separate charges centered on kidnapping and armed robbery.

Concurrent Sentences

The judge issued a series of concurrent and consecutive sentences, which is why the exact amount of jail time is not a firm number. Simpson could become eligible for parole after nine years but could end up serving as long as 33 years total. The judge insisted her decision was completely unrelated to Simpson’s acquittal in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman.
