Rumors have been circulating for some time now that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning has fallen out of shape since neck surgery was performed on him in 2011. Now some of Manning’s observers have come out to refute claims that Manning is throwing with a “noodle arm”

One of his supporters is none other than Indianapolis Colts GM Bill Polian who watched Manning throw back in late December. According to Bill:

“It’s marked (improvement) from where he was back in September,” Polian said. “He threw it accurately, he threw it with a good, tight spiral, and he threw it with velocity.

“Generally, he looked like a pretty confident quarterback out there.”

Another Colts player also backed Mannings improvement. Kicker Adam Vinatieri told NFL.com of the QB’s improvement:.

“I haven’t watched him the last few weeks, but I did see him at the end of the season,” Vinatieri said during the interview. “He was developing nicely. Was he quite all the way back yet? No, probably not. Not to his standards.

“But he definitely is not that far off.”

At this time the Colts are running out of signing time with Manning set to receive a massive $28 million singing bonus should he still be on the roster come March 8, if anything these reports should continue to fuel speculation that another struggling NFL team at the QB position will pick Manning up before he hits the free agent market.

Do you think Peyton Manning despite several neck surgeries can still be a positive influence on whatever team he ends up playing for?

Tim Tebow for the time being is a bona fide NFL star who doesn’t really need help finding woman but that didn’t stop Rosie O’Donnell this week from trying to set him up with friend Jenny McCarthy.

Apparently Tebow was giving an interview ahead of Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis when McCarthy who was also on site mentioned her “crush” on Tim to Rosie.

Not being one to play it bashful Rosie ran over to Tebow following his interview and according to In Touch Weekly she said to him:

“Hi, I’m Rosie O’Donnell and this is Jenny McCarthy and she’s single. I think you two would be perfect together. Now exchange telephone numbers.” Rosie then walked away as if nothing had happened.

Tebow, 24, them talked to McCarthy, 39, and they did in fact exchange phone numbers before Tebow went back to his round of interviews.

The pair haven’t been spotted in public together but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen, after all everyone said the Tim Tebow run for the playoffs couldn’t happen and we saw how that turned out.

Does anyone else find this older woman going after much younger men trend in Hollywood to be a bit disturbing? Thanks Demi Moore.

On Tuesday, The 34-year-old Williams announced that he won’t be back to fulfill the second year of a contract he signed with the Ravens in August.

“The NFL has been an amazing page in this chapter of my life,” Williams said of his current retirement in an official statement. “I pray that all successive adventures offer me the same potential for growth, success and most importantly, fun.”

Playing as a backup to Ray Rice this year, Williams ran for 444 yards, 2 touchdowns, and also became the 26th player in NFL history to reach 10,000 yards rushing, reaching the plateau in the season finale at Cincinnati.

“As a young player, you need to be around a guy who knows what he is doing, and Ricky was tremendous to learn from, Rice said in a statement to ESPN. “The way he took care of his body and the way he prepared, he always showed that he is a true professional.”

A Heisman Trophy winner at the University of Texas, Williams was a 1999 first round pick of the New Orleans Saints (under the helm of Mike Ditka), who famously traded their entire allotment of draft picks in order to move up in the first round to select Williams with the fifth pick.

He only lasted three sub-par years in New Orleans before being traded to the Miami Dolphins, where his career blossomed.

Williams led the NFL in 2002 with 1,853 yards rushing for the Dolphins and received his lone Pro Bowl invitation that season. He backed that up with 1,372 yards in 2003, giving him what remains the two most productive rushing seasons in Dolphins history.

Williams retired previously before the the start of the 2004 season when facing a four-game suspension for violating the league’s drug policy. He returned in 2005, then left to spend the 2006 season with Toronto of the Canadian Football League.

Over the course of his 11-year career in the NFL Williams had five 1,000-yard rushing seasons and finished with 10,009 yards on the ground.

When asked about his post-NFL plans, Williams said:

“As for what’s next, I am excited about all the opportunities ahead — continuing my education, running The Ricky Williams Foundation and whatever other opportunities present themselves.”

ESPN’s Tim Hasselbeck and Darren Woodson discuss Ricky Williams’ NFL career and retirement in the video below:

On Sunday, February 5th, 2012 NBC and the NFL teamed up to deliver the first ever live streaming feeds for online Super Bowl viewers and that feature drew in an impressive 2.1 million unique viewers.

While still far from the record 111.3 million TV viewers who tuned in for the event it’s still a promising number of viewers for NBCSports.com and NFL.com who teamed up to broadcast the event live.

Online viewing still lagged a few seconds behind the live event and users didn’t receive the Madonna halftime show or the commercials, however those features were available through on-demand clickable viewing.

What users were given was optional camera views, access to Tweets from several respected NFL personalities and HD-quality video.

Kevin Monaghan, managing director of digital media for NBC Sports Group, said the live stream “exceeded our expectations in every way.”

Verizon Wireless also made the event available for streaming on some of the companies Smartphones.

Called a “complementary” option for viewers the program tested the ability of the NFL and NBC to deliver a unique experience that could add a “second screen” to the event for football fans who wants to cull extra information.

Past sporting events have already been tested online including the 2010 World Cup by ESPN and NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Olympics.

When all was said and done Super Bowl XLVI managed to engage online users for an average of 39 minutes, a huge number in terms of online sports viewing which should help push such offerings to users at an increasing level.

Did you watch Super Bowl XLVI online? What did you think of the quality of streaming services provided?

Running back Knowshon Moreno of the Denver Broncos was pulled over and arrested for drunk driving earlier this month and in a bit of irony his license plate reads “SAUCED” according to the police who pulled the NFL player over.

The official police report says Moreno was driving in his convertible Bentley on Feb. 1 when he was doing 70 in a 45 mile per hour construction zone.

When police approached the football players vehicle they say the smell of alcohol was immediately recognized and he then performed poorly during a field sobriety test which led to his DUI arrest.

Despite taking the advice of his own license plate and being “sauced” the football player was still “very respectful and polite” to the arresting officers.

In a statement the Broncos front office said:

“We take the incident involving Knowshon Moreno very seriously and are thoroughly reviewing this matter. Our organization will continue to gather information and closely monitor this issue while the legal process runs its course.”

No statement has been made by Knowshon Moreno at this time.

Do you think having the license plate “SAUCED” is a bad decision if you plan to drink and then drive your very expensive vehicle around town in the middle of the night?

New York Giants fan Jona Rechnitz was so convinced that his Giants would start out Super Bowl XVLI with a safety against the New England Patriots that he bet $1,000 on the unlikely play, a bet that netted him 50 to 1 payout odds.

If you’re keeping score at home that means he won $50,000 plus his initial $1000 when that exact play was the first scoring drive of Super Bowl XLVI.

The safety came after Patriots quarterback Tom Brady intentionally grounded the ball in his teams own endzone, a safety infraction that paid Jona $50,000.

If the story ended there it would be a nice payday for Jona however he’s already a successful real estate company owner in New York and now he has said the winnings he earned will go to various charities, including $5,000 for Brady’s charities of choice and $5,000 to the charities of choice for the Giants defensive linemen who forced the safety.

Jona also says he would love to take Tom Brady out to an all-expenses played dinner.

After taxes the remaining sum of winnings will be donated to charities that help the less fortunate in the United States.

The gambler says he doesn’t put a lot of money down on the table, in fact he only makes one football bet each year and it’s always on the Super Bowl.

In the end the Super Bowl’s first starting drive safety of all-time has paid off well for people in need, even if Tom Brady is probably still kicking himself over his teams second Super Bowl loss to Eli Manning and the New York Giants in just four years.

M.I.A. decided giving an audience of more than 100 million people during the Super Bowl was a good idea and because of her action she could be stuck with a very hefty FCC fine.

According to sources close to the singers agreement the NFL had M.I.A. sign an agreement in which she would pay any FCC fines that arose from bad behavior. The contract was necessary after the halftime show became a shock & awe platform for singers looking to grab headlines.

In the meantime NBC has been indemnified by the NFL since the league handles the halftime show.

Under M.I.A.’s contract she will be responsible for 100 percent of all fines that are handed down to the NFL and NBC.

You may recall that CBS was forced to pay a $550,000 fine to the FCC after Janet Jackson’s nipple was exposed during a halftime performance however that fine was eventually thrown out in federal appeals court.

It’s likely however that M.I.A. will not be successful in an appeal since her actions were blatantly aimed at breaking FCC rules.

Sources close to the contract state that it wasn’t just about skirting a huge fine but also sending a message to performers that their actions have direct monetary repercussions.

Here’s the M.I.A. performance from the Super Bowl Halftime show:

Do you think it’s about time that singers at the NFL halftime show take responsibility for their own silly actions?

Kim Kardashian isn’t dating Mark Sanchez according to TMZ – despite what the rumor mill may suggest.

We reported on gossip yesterday that Kardashian and Sanchez were an item. There were suggestions that the pair were seeing each other whenever Kardashian was in New York. Not so, say sources close to the star, and there’s also no truth in her and Tim Tebow having a thing. In fact, the reality star says she’s through with dating footballer players as a whole. And who’s to blame? Reggie Bush, that’s who.

The same sources who spilled the beans over the footballer ban told TMZ that her split with Bush was particularly heart-breaking. As a split with one NFL player was very negative, it goes without saying that relationships with other men who play the same sport will … end, er … the same way? Kardashian logic, I guess.

Anyway, the NFL collective shouldn’t be too disheartened. This is, after all, the woman who said “I do” to Kris Humphries, so we’re not talking about the most committed decision-maker in celeb-land. Speaking of Monsieur Humphries, it’s curious that NBA players have not been announced as out-of-bounds. You’re still in Kim’s Krosshairs, boys. Perhaps Kris did something right after all.

Do you think Kardashian can stick to her new self-imposed rule? And how much do you want her to take up TMZ’s suggestion of dating Tiger Woods? The lack of a ‘K’ in his name won’t be good for branding, but he’s newly available and, going by his reputation, probably feeling frisky at some point in the next fifteen seconds.

Eli Manning started Super Bowl XLVI by letting the New England Patriots known he meant business, becoming the first quarterback in Super Bowl history to complete nine consecutive passing plays with completions. However it was the quarterbacks last-minute score that eventually led the Giants to a 21-17 victory.

Manning hasn’t been kind to Tom Brady and the Pats, upsetting the teams perfect season in 2008 to tale home footballs top prize and doing the same this year with a less dominate but still impressive outing.

The match also happened to be the first time two quarterbacks who have won the Super Bowl’s MVP award faced off against each other and they took turns showing why they deserved those MVP nods.

Brady managed to finish 16 completions in a row but that wasn’t enough to stop Eli Manning’s nine-play, 88-yard drive that gave New York the go ahead push needed for the win.

In the end it was a 6-yard run up the middle by Ahmad Bradshaw that secured the win while Tom Brady attempted one last long yard heave that fell short of his players in the endzone.

Are you surprised that the New York Giants have once against managed to upset Brady and the Patriots during a Super Bowl showdown?

Fans attending this year’s Pro Bowl in Hawaii actively booed their favorite NFL players for what they saw as a lackluster attempt at performing in the league’s All Star game and those fans were’t the only disapproving spectators, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell talked with ESPN Radio on Sunday and revealed that the game could be eliminated.

Talking on Mike and Mike in the Morning Goodell said he has already began addressing the “quality of the game” with the NFL Players association:

“I really didn’t think that was the kind of football that we want to be demonstrating for our fans,” Goodell said. “And you heard it from the fans. The fans were actively booing in the stands. They didn’t like what they were seeing.”

The NFL Commissioner also said if the game continues to be played something needs to change immediately:

“We’re either going to have to improve the quality of what we’re doing in the Pro Bowl or consider other changes or even considering eliminating the game if that’s the kind of quality game we’re going to provide,” Goodell said.

Goodell admitted that fans weren’t given what was promised to them:

“I know players love to be in Hawaii but we have to start with the quality of what we’re doing,” Goodell said. “If the fans are responding negatively to what we’re doing, we better listen. And that was my message.”

That sentiment appears to be shared by at least some players, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers recently called his NFC teams performance “embarrassing” while admitting that his teammates “didn’t put any effort into it.”

Do you think the Pro Bowl needs to be eliminated or should players simply take the all star event more seriously in order to get fans involved.

The New England Patriots take on the New York Giants today in Super Bowl XLVI and in preparation for one of the worlds biggest sporting events the teams players have been ordered to take part in a specially balanced eating regime.

According to reports when arriving in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl players on the Patriots were sat down for a meal and were told they had to eat everything on their plates.

Apparently the diet restrictions are so strict that the organization brought its own cooks to the teams hotel and had them cook dinner for the players.

Among Saturday nights dinner was the choice of chicken, steak or fish which were all served with fresh vegetables.

The team’s players are expected to follow the team formed diet until after the Super Bowl concludes on Sunday.

I think I could handle my choice of chicken, steak or fish and fresh sides.

Would you mind having your own chef to cook you specially created and healthy meals even if the choices were limited to just several entrees?

In a surprising move by the New England Patriots the team released wide-receiver Tiquan Underwood on the eve of their matchup against the New York Giants for Super Bowl XLVI.

Underwood was deactivated from the teams 53-man roster so the team could activate defensive end Alex Silvestro from the Patriot’s practice squad.

The team issued a brief statement about their decision but did not explain why the wide receiver who also serves on special teams was cut from the active roster less then 24 hours before Super Bowl XLVI.

While Underwood played in five contests for the Patriots during the 2011-2012 season Silvestro only played in the teams December 24 matchup against Miami.

It’s believed that head coach Bill Belichick is attempting to build up greater depth in defense while increasing the possibility that Chad Ochocinco will be activated as the teams fifth wide receiver.

Do you think demoting Underwood with less than 24 hours to go before the Super Bowl was a cold but calculated move on behalf of the New England Patriots coaching staff?

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers on Saturday accepted the 2011 Associated Press Most Valuable Player award from the league’s only four-time winner Peyton Manning.

After Manning was greeted with a standing ovation he introduced Aaron Rodgers who told those in attendance:

“It means a lot to be recognized as a consistent player and contributing on my team,” Rodgers said. “I think it’s an award that relies on a player having the support of his teammates, obviously, guys blocking, guys running, guys catching, guys making plays. But I’m very honored to receive the award.”

Rodgers handily walked away with the award after receiving 48 of 50 votes from a nationwide panel made up of media members who regularly cover the NFL.

Also taking home an award was New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees who won the “Offensive Player of the Year” award after he broke the long standing passing record set by Dan Marino.

The award was well deserved for Rodgers who led the NFL with a 122.5 rating with 45 touchdown passes, six interceptions and a completion percentage of 68.3 percent. The Packers eventually went 15-1 to win the NFL before they were defeated at Lambeau Field in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs.

Rodgers continued:

“People really count on me to be consistent each week, to play well. Knowing that my performance, the fact that I touch the ball every play, I have a direct impact on the game, the way I play,” Rodgers said. “And if I’m playing consistent and doing things I know I’m supposed to do, we’ve been able to have some success because of it.”

Do you think Aaron Rodgers deserved to win the NFL MVP award for his 2011 performance?

The NFL has a tradition in which each Super Bowl is met with a Roman numeral system, for example this year Super Bowl 46 is titled Super Bowl XLVI, there’s just one problem with that setup it turns out school aged children are completely confused by the old school numbering system.

It turns out that while many kids know the basics of Roman numbers (X, I, V, etc) they don’t understand larger numbers. Speaking to the Associated Press one mother said Roman numerals “only ever get used for things like copyrights or sporting events. which in my humble opinion harkens even further back to the gladiatorial barbaric nature of things like the Super Bowl.”

Apparently the Roman numeral system is a barbaric act rather than a way to teach children about a historically relevant numbering system, but that is of course just one mothers opinion.

While teachers only educate students about the very basics of the Roman numeral system in school these days websites such as Numericana.com pick up the slack and not surprisingly receive a ton of pageviews around Super Bowl Sunday as fans attempt to figure out which Super Bowl we are currently enjoying.

When asked why the Super Bowl hasn’t changed to a modern name numbering system an NFL historian noted that “It just kind of sounds like an inventory. ‘Inspected by Joe,’” and “Those Roman numerals, they’re almost like trophies.”

In the meantime we are nearing Super Bowl L which has some NFL officials worried that the “L” will translate to the sign for “Loser” when a persons hand is raised to their forehead in the shape of an L such as this:

Do you think the Super Bowl numbering system is archaic and needs to be changed or is it too far set in our minds to forget about?

Kickoff for Super Bowl XLVI is still hours away but that didn’t stop the New York Giants team website from announcing that they have already won the 46th annual NFL championship game.

After displaying the website page shown above the teams web portal was quickly corrected and the following explanation was given by the NFL:

“It is common practice for both teams to create web pages in advance of the conference championship games and Super Bowl. In this case, the hidden URL for the page was inadvertently available for a brief period of time while it was being positioned on the NFL server for possible post tomorrow night.”

The error was broadcast on Giants.com with the headline “The Giants are Super Bowl champions” along with an ad that led viewers to a Giants Super Bowl chapmions merchandise page.

Giants players have been talking up their win all week and so has New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady who told nearly 25,000 fans last week at a Patriots pep rally:

”We’re going to give it our best and hopefully we have a lot more people at our party next weekend.”

In the meantime extra precautions are being taken to make sure that both team websites feature the right information leading up to Super Bowl XLVI.

Are you surprised to learn about the snafu made on the Giants.com website and do you think the New York Giants are going all the way this year with that page being placed back online after the game has ended?

While he hasn’t announced his medical clearance and the Indianapolis Colts have remained mum about the situation several NFL source have told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that Peyton Manning has been medically cleared to play.

Manning has apparently been cleared by not one but two doctors including Dr. Robert Watkins who performed the quarterbacks most recent neck surgery.

According to one source Watkins said Manning would be play ready this Sunday if the nerves in his arm had regenerated to a satisfactory performance level.

The doctor is also urging Peyton Manning to continue on his path towards an aggressive rehabilitation which will provide an optimistic play schedule for Manning in 2012.

Manning’s spinal fusion took place on Sept. 8 with a declared “firm fixation” announced on Dec. 1.

In a glowing remark one source says Colts neurosurgeon Dr. Hank Feuer recently told Manning

”If you were my own son, I’d tell [you] to go play.”

As I previously reported Peyton Manning shot down rumors of a retirement, stating that his rehabilitation was right on track.

If Manning remains with the Indianapolis Colts he’ll be $28 million richer after which time the Colts will be forced to pay him that large bonus.

At this time it’s believed that Peyton Manning’s injuries are not about a safety issue but rather a playing issue as the quarterback continues to rebuild the nerves in his throwing arm which have been damaged since his surgery.

Do you think Peyton Manning will play another down in the NFL or is his career officially over?

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning took some time on Tuesday to shoot down rumors that his career was over.

Speaking about his current condition following neck/spinal surgery Manning revealed:

“I really feel good. I continue to make progress every day,” while adding that he had a “great day” at rehab.

According to Manning his doctors are telling him that he’ll be ready to play when the new NFL season begins. Then again we would expect Peyton Manning to make such a statement since the Colts would own him a $28 million bonus should he stay with the team passed March 8.

Manning’s statement of good health arrived after Rob Lowe of all people tweeted a while back that an inside source at the NFL said Peyton Manning had played his last football game.

According to inside sources the nerves in Manning’s arm are not healing fast enough for a 2012 season return or at a rate of progression that suggests he’ll ever play in an NFL game again.

While the vertebrae in his neck healed as expected until December two sources revealed to Yahoo Sports:

“The vertebrae in his neck that were fused have healed as expected and Manning began throwing in December. But he hasn’t shown improvement in velocity on his passes, and the two sources fear he likely never will again.

In addition, two league-affiliated doctors with experience in spinal fusion surgery said it could take up to a year before Manning knows if he can return. Both said the risk is too great for Manning to play again and, because of the timeline, neither would recommend the Colts pay Manning the $28 million bonus he is owed in March”

Do you think Peyton Manning has played in his final NFL game?

Pat Tillman’s autographed cleats have just popped up on eBay for a cool $3.2 million, prompting a predictable tidal wave of outrage. <del datetime="2012-01-31T10:05:08+00:00">But they do have free shipping, which you think would calm people down</del>.

If Tillman’s name is unfamiliar to you, his story is an interesting one. He was an Arizona Cardinals safety who rejected a $3 million-plus contract from the Cardinals and left his newlywed bride to join the U.S. Army in Afghanistan after the September 11th attacks. His service in Afghanistan ended tragically, when he was killed in a friendly fire accident in 2004, aged just 27.

And now his cleats, complete with mud and Tillman’s autograph in black Sharpie, are on eBay with a seven-figure price that the seller is refusing to budge on. These were worn by the young safety in a regular season game against the Baltimore Ravens in 2000 – he even made an interception in that game.

I’m sort of torn on this. People sell sports memorabilia all the time, including stuff that has belonged to dead people. And yes, people sell the possessions of sportsmen and sportswomen who were killed in horrible circumstances. So the whole ‘OMG WAR HERO!!!!11!’ line is sort of irrelevant in my eyes. Hey, Tillman was undoubtedly a brave bloke with way bigger cojones than most, me included. I admire that. But let’s not allow that to cloud our view here. Courageous as he was, Tillman’s not the first sportsman to be killed in a war and then have his stuff sold at auction.

HOWEVER (yeah, I’m flip-flopping a lot on this one), the whole situation gets pretty damn ghoulish when you insist on a seven-figure sum, because it’s so blatantly a cash-in on Tillman’s circumstances – particularly if you don’t intend to give a good chunk of the winning bid to a worthy cause.

I’m sure others have opinions on this anyway. Let me know down there in the comments.

The NFL Pro Bowl is often played with youthful abandon by players lucky enough to be chosen for the trip to Hawaii, however one player didn’t get that memo this year. Brandon Marshall appeared to be playing at double speed compared to his fellow NFL all-stars on Sunday when he caught four touchdowns, a new Pro Bowl Record.

All together the Miami Dolphins wide receiver caught six passes for 176 years as his AFC teammates used the second-half to pull ahead of the NFC for a 59-41 win on Sunday.

After the game Marshall said:

“You never know when you’re going to be back and I wanted to go all out today because it could be my last Pro Bowl.”

Adding to his impressive full game span Marshall managed one touch per quarter, enough to get him selected as the Pro Bowl MVP.

After the game Brandon Marshall made it clear that he had a mission:

“You know what? I wanted it,” he said. “It’s a Pro Bowl. Some guys are playing 100 (percent), some guys are playing 90, some guys aren’t playing at all, but it means a lot to be up in the rafters with some of these guys.”

Marshall’s four TD’s wasn’t the only broken Pro Bowl record, the AFC set a new mark with 59 points.

It was Marshall’s third Pro Bowl appearance and the Hawaii weather and Aloha Stadium has always been a favorite of Marshalls, it was at the same stadium in 2005 where he earned MVP honors in his final game for Central Florida, the 2005 Hawaii Bowl. During that game he caught 11 passes for 210 yards including three touchdowns.

Joking about his season Marshall pointed out that he had just six TDs this past season but four in the Pro Bowl.

Are you surprised by Brandon Marshall’s Pro Bowl performance?

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay introduced new head coach Chuck Pagano on Thursday during a conference but the real focus was on Irsay’s disgust over comments recently made by quarterback Peyton Manning.

You might recall that two days ago Manning recalled a harsh atmosphere in Indianapolis after the teams 2-14 season led to the firing of 11 coaches and various other staff members. In his press conference on Thursday Irsay called Peyton Manning a “politician” while noting:

“I don’t think it’s in the best interest to paint the horseshoe [the teams logo] in a negative light, I really don’t. The horseshoe always comes first, and I think one thing he’s always known, because he’s been around it so long, is that, you know, you keep it in the family. If you’ve got a problem you talk to each other, it’s not about campaigning or anything like that.”

The comment comes at a time when Manning will be owed a $28 million bonus check should the team keep him through his march contracts agreed upon March deadline. With the Colts preparing to pick up Andrew Luck as the NFL’s No. 1 draft choice the ability to give up Manning and use that $28 million to rebuild the team is looking more attractive.

Manning was injured this past season and underwent Sept. 8 neck surgery, his third such procedure in just 19 months.

Already removed from the team are vice chairman Bill Polian, general manager Chris Polian and head coach Jim Caldwell along with most of the Caldwell created Indianapolis Colts staff.

Manning appears of late to be most upset with his lack of communication at the GM level in which he says he has talked to the teams new GM Ryan Grigson only in “passing” while feeling as if he needs to be “walking around on eggshells.”

Regardless of Peyton Manning’s feeling Irsay says of the situation:

“I have so much affection and appreciation for Peyton. I mean we’re family. We always will be and we are. He’s a politician. I mean look at, when it comes to being competitive, let’s just say on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the highest, we’re both 11s, OK? So there’s been plenty of eggshells scattered around this building by him with his competitive desire to win.”

Do you believe that the Indianapolis Colts are preparing to shed a $28 million weight from their books and replace it with a younger and more nimble Andrew Luck?
