Naomi Campbell has hit Brazil big-time, and frankly, I’m a little scared. It’s just a matter of time before I run into her somewhere, and I have to prepare the perfect one-liner! Here’s why: the notorious supermodel has signed up with uber-chic department store Daslu in Sao Paulo to launch a collection through Daslu’s new signature line called 284. According to the NY Post, Naomi’s on the path to “improve her rage-plagued image.”

I don’t think that it takes a genius to realize she needs more than some nice clothes (admittedly, really really nice) to get her on the right track. Is this too little, too late? Was that a rhetorical question?

Naomi Campbell and Victoria Beckham are *thisclose,* really? According to Naomi, the two share all their girliest secrets and probably even giggle together. Are you as disturbed as I am? Naomi told all in The Mirror about calling Victoria Beckham up after she was sentenced for air rage in June:

“When I was going through my hard time recently she was immediately on the phone, asking me how I was doing and saying, ‘I hope you’re well.’ She was very sweet.”

Do you think Naomi has a long list of potential best friends though? I can tell you one thing: if I see her in Sao Paulo, I am running the other way.

Naomi Campbell Pissed Off Again?

I loooove a good Naomi Campbell rumor, and the latest (surprise, surprise?) has to do with another blowup. If there’s one model I never want to meet, it’s her, so thank goodness I’m not in Brazil covering the Rosa Cha show this weekend, where she’s rumored to be making an appearance! The London Paper reported that Naomi was mid-paparazzi posing when she just totally freaked out:

“Suddenly Naomi flipped and started swinging her arms about manically. No one could work out what was wrong with her.”

She was shouting and screaming as her friends desperately tried to get her into the car. She was ranting incomprehensibly.”

So what else is new? Joking aside, Naomi’s actions come at the worst time, since she’s currently facing a possible prison sentence after being charged for allegedly assaulting two police officers. Whoever passed her on her anger management courses in the past should be ashamed.

What will it take to get Naomi under control?

Naomi Campbell of the soon-to-be-infamous trust game swoon has paired up with Victoria Beckham’s dVb line for a special “Naomi by dVb” collection. Naomi, even with all her shortcomings, is truly one hell of a muse, and Victoria gushed about the partnership, saying “The ‘Naomi by dVb’ [line] takes these elements into a denim cut which makes the leg look incredibly long. Who better to name this style after than Naomi Campbell?”

Naomi then backed Victoria up with the obligatory “I’m getting paid for this, so obviously I like it” speech, saying “I love the fit, model and cut of the Naomi jeans Victoria Beckham has designed. I have already worn them many times and people always stop me and ask the make of my jeans. Victoria did a great job capturing a stylish Seventies rock jean look.”

I want to know what she really thinks about it (does Naomi Campbell even wear a lot of denim?), and I’m also wondering what their business meetings are like. Do they just sit around and glare at each other? I’m almost rooting for disaster to strike just so I can hear about the fight. T’would be brutal.

… is not one that involves multiple, almost simultaneous excuses about one’s clients behavior that also happen to be ridiculous. When Naomi Campbell was pictured in this rather compromising pose (back bend? faint?), her Creative Agent responded to The Sun with the following comment: “It was just a bit of fun and not down to drink. Naomi was playing this trust game, where you fall into a friend’s arms. It’s very hot there, so that could also have had something to do with it.”

Suuure. I bet Naomi is really down with the trust games, especially after a night out clubbing in Capri. Somehow that doesn’t really strike me as her style, probably because everyone knows that girl has no shortage of enemies.

Just What We Need: 30 ft. Naomi Campbell Sculptures

As if Naomi Campbell weren’t our favorite model-slash-abusive personality already, we’re going to be seeing a lot more of her now. She’s already having great year, just proving that good things don’t just happen to good people: she’s got an amazing YSL campaign, a D&G birthday bash, and a cameo role on Ugly Betty, and now three giant sculptures of herself that measure 30 feet in height coming up at the end of the year. British photog Nick Knight has released his plans to create these sculptures using a three-dimensional scanner in either alabaster or glass fibre.

UK newspaper The Independent recently interviewed Knight about his project revering “one of the most famous and beautiful women in the world” and asked “if [the statue] could be installed at the entrance to Terminal 5, as a symbol of the nation’s rage over lost baggage and delayed flights.” He just laughed it off. I guess it’s too late to reconsider the whole thing?

How about we just use the sculptures as a general warning to all future agencies and assistants and leave it at that?
