When Nadya Suleman had her 8 children she was given her own television show. China, which limits couples to just one child, probably isn’t going to have the same reaction to its own octomom.

The Washington Post reports that a Chinese couple paid two surrogates to help them have four boys and four girls. The couple paid nearly a million yuan ($160,000) for their octuplets and have started a debate on the use of surrogates, which China forbids, and how rich Chinese are able to skirt the countries laws.

But most of the Chinese population is too bewildered to be angry. Chinese Central Television news anchor Bai Yansong said at the beginning of a 20-minute report on China’s octomom:

“Heavens. To have one family with eight kids … in an era of family planning where most people have just one, the contrast is just too much… It doesn’t sound like news. It sounds more like a fairy tale.”

The Chinese media is referring to the mother as “babaotai muqin,” or “octomom,” a reference to Nadya Suleman.

Details about babaotai muqin are scarce at the moment. The Guangzhou Daily, a government paper, reports that the biological mother carried two children while the two surrogates carried three apiece. The babies were born in September last year, and according to the paper, they have been taken care of by 11 nannies.

Some, of course, say that the story is a hoax. The Guangdong Health Department says that China’s octomom is real, but refused to identify the couple due to privacy concerns.

Sometimes being stuck next to one screaming, abrasive child on an airplane is enough to drive many of us insane, myself included and I love children, now imagine if you were stuck to 14 problem children, that’s the situation that left actress Kristen Johnston in a row with Nadya “Octomom” Suleman aboard a flight from Los Angeles to New York.

According to The Star Johnston simply asked that Nadya make her children stay quite to which she responded:

‘How would you like me to keep eight two-year-olds quiet?’

After hearing the comment Kristen responded with:

‘Get more help!’

To which Suleman shouted back:

‘Why don’t you grow a baby and get a life.’

The flight had been delayed 2 hours and Nadya and her kids took up most of the business class section.

After landing in Los Angelese Suleman told TMZ:

‘I guess there’s some people that don’t like kids.’

According to Nadya’s spokesman:

‘While Nadya had help from her friend and two older children, it’s not easy to travel with one two-year-old,  let alone eight two-year-olds on a plane.’ while adding ‘She did the best anyone could.’

I really don’t think the issue here is whether or not Kristen Johnston likes children (she may not but it’s not for anyone included Octomom to state), but rather the fact that no one likes Octomom.

Nadya Suleman, the woman who became famous for adding to her already-large brood of six children with ill-planned-for octuplets, has come around again for another round of press attention- this time saying her children are unmanageable and that being a single mother to 14 kids under the age of 10 isn’t all fun and games.

Suleman says she “hates” the octuplets and that her older children are “animals,” and she painted a bleak picture in an interview with InTouch magazine. Suleman whines:

‘I hate the babies, they disgust me,’ she told InTouch magazine. ‘My older six are animals, getting more and more out of control, because I have no time to properly discipline them.’

In one of the pictures, a child is pictured eating drywall at Suleman’s “run down” home. Octomom also says the rigors of a house with fifteen children are bankrupting her, and that she has overdrawn her bank account by $300.

Suleman- who a cynic may say is trying to relieve herself of the responsibility by making such statements publicly- openly discussed contemplating suicide:

‘The only way I can cope is to lock myself in the bathroom and cry. Sometimes I sit there for hours and even eat my lunch sitting on the toilet floor. Anything to get peace and quiet,’ she said.

The reality TV mother has even considered suicide.

‘Some days I have thought about killing myself. I cannot cope,’ she said.

Expect some backtracking from Suleman when social services inevitably gets involved. She also told the gossip mag she wishes she’d never had any of the children, although she “obviously” loves them.

Dr. Michael Kamrava has become notorious in the field of fertility medicine for his imprudent transfer of twelve embryos to the woman who would later become internationally famous as “Octomom.”

Nadya Suleman gave birth to octuplets in January of 2009, earning her the moniker, and it was later revealed that the baby-obsessed single mom had a total of 14 children. Suleman’s case, along with two other questionable decisions made under Dr. Kamrava’s care, led to the ruling by the Medical Board of California.

In the ruling, the board opined:

“Public protection is paramount,” the board said. “The board is not assured that oversight through probation is enough, and having weighed the above, has determined that revocation of respondent’s certificate is necessary to protect the public.”

Octodoc’s lawyer made several arguments in the fertility doc’s defense, but the board rejected them, saying:

“To assign even a scintilla of responsibility to a patient who becomes pregnant and then elects not to follow through with a procedure that may jeopardize her (and possibly her family’s) prized objective is troubling and telling,” the board said.

At a hearing last month, Dr. Kamrava’s lawyer Henry Fenton argued:

“Nobody died here. This is a good doctor. I argue he really learned his lesson.”

The suspension goes into effect on July 1st.

A year after her famous and famously maligned set of octuplets were born, Octomom Nadya Suleman showed off her post-baby (and ostensibly post surgery) body in a set of OMG WTF bikini pictures.

Seriously, OMG? WTF? How did she go from the infamous pre-baby picture to that? Her body looks fantastic- her face is still weirdly warped from too much obvious plastic surgery.

The Telegraph is reporting that upon hearing the news of the Suleman octuplets, Michael Jackson offered to adopt the eight children to “give Blanket siblings.” Suleman’s lawyer Victor Munoz says he declined the “creepy” offer on Suleman’s behalf. (Because she’s not creepy at all?)

The obsessed with children pop star apparently had three representatives reach out to the Octomom camp before personally calling to speak with the unemployed mother of fourteen children. Jackson was said to be “concerned” regarding reports that Suleman planned to give Malia, Jonah, Isaiah, Nariah, Jeremiah, McCai, Josiah and Noah up for adoption. Because that would be scandalous!

According to Munoz, speaking to the Daily Mirror, Jackson told him “Blanket would love to have more siblings”.

“I could take care of all the babies, they could live with me and wouldn’t need for anything. They would have a bright future,” he is said to have told him.

“I want to take care of Nadya. She will be happy and won’t have to worry about caring for her children any more.”

Munoz said that “Michael clearly thought Nadya was unfit and decided he wanted to help [the] children,” but also indicated that the tone of the calls became less about concern and more like a sales pitch. Munoz said the last call indicated that Suleman would “be compensated” in an adoption scenario.

Octo Mom, Nadya Suleman has signed a deal to appear in her own reality TV show with her 14 kids.

Nadya Suleman, better known as Octo Mom because she gave birth to octuplets, has been in negotiations for weeks with her lawyer and a production company, hammering out a deal to appear in her own reality TV show. The production company, Eyeworks, is currently working on finding a suitable TV network where the show will air.

According to her Lawyer, Jeff Czech, the deal has been finalized and the show will be about different experiences she goes through with her 14 kids.

“[Nadya and the producers] are hoping to have an arrangement whereby several events in the children’s lives would be filmed in a documentary series. One of the events in the children’s lives might be their first birthday.”

Czech wouldn’t comment on the financial terms of the deal, but did assure the interviewer that Octo Mom’s new reality show would be nothing like Jon and Kate plus 8.

The Octomom 911 Calls

The Octomom 911 calls, which were routed to police in Whittier, Calif., included eight separate incidents to which officers responded. In one call, Suleman indicated she couldn’t find her 5-year-old son, saying: “Oh God, I am gong to kill myself.” She repeated the phrase twice more, after which the 911 operator told Suleman to get herself under control for the benefit of her other children.

“Help me!” Suleman later said. “My son is missing! I’m going crazy!”

Her son, it turned out, was out walking around the block with his grandmother.

Another call coming from the household was seemingly placed by one of the children. A young boy told 911 operators he was in charge.

Suleman is set to start bringing her new children home this week. She insists she was only “a little anxious” when placing the 911 calls, saying much of the tension came from complications with the pregnancy.

A psychiatrist has filed a complaint with the California Department of Children and Family Services alleging that octomom Nadya Suleman is guilty of child abuse.

The complaint calls on authorities to step in and remove octomom’s octuplets due to her “inability to properly care for her 14 children.”

According to Dr. Carole Lieberman, octomom suffers from a

“severely narcissistic personality, with grandiosity, unrealistic fantasies, a belief that she is special, a need for excessive admiration, a disturbing sense of entitlement, a willingness to exploit other people, a lack of empathy and arrogance.”

Suleman has come under harsh criticism, following disclosure that she underwent IVF to have the kids, despite being unemployed, single, and already having 6 children she was struggling to feed.

“We thank you for the love and good wishes sent to us from around the world. The octuplets arrived on 1-26-09. They are all healthy and growing stronger by the day” bleats the Nadya Suleman website.

I know the rights of women should always come first, but if there was ever a case for compulsory tube tieing, Nadya Suleman is it.
