35-year-old California murder fugitive Aaron Bassler was killed by a SWAT team over the week. Bassler, a schizophrenic, had killed two people in Fort Bragg, California.

According to authorities Aaron was hiding out in the dense forest surrounding the area after killing the manager of a local conservation group on August 11. The fugitive broke into cabins for supplies, forcing authorities to close a popular hiking trail for fear he would strike again.

Bassler was killed by a 3-man SWAT team after being shot seven times upon his discovery.

According to the Mayor of Fort Bragg:

“It was a burden on everybody, just knowing that there was somebody out there that was willing to kill…Everybody understood that he was out in those woods.”

Police nearly caught Aaron Bassler on several occasions, including one time when a police dog managed to grab onto his backpack. On Thursday they closed in on the fugitive, exchanging gun fire as he attempted to fend off authorities once again.

Speaking about the fugitives tragic ending the son of a councilman that Bassler killed said:

“This was the only possible outcome for the scenario.”

If he would have been apprehended it’s likely Bassler would have plead insanity to any charges related to the killings.

No comments have been given at this time from the fugitive’s family or friends.

Giselle Esteban, the suspected murderer of Michelle Le was formerly charged with murder on Thursday morning but missed her 2 p.m. arraignment for medical reasons.

Esteban was rushed to a nearby hospital after what sources said appeared to be contractions. Esteban is believed to be seven months pregnant although Hayward police are not offering comments about any medical related conditions at this time.

The medical emergency doesn’t appear to be serious as Giselle’s arraignment is now scheduled for 2 p.m. on September 9.

Esteban has always been a person of interest in the disappearance of Le, 26, a nurse student who was last seen at the Kaiser Hayward on May 27.

In an interview with KGO Esteban said she “openly hates Michelle” because she stole her boyfriend after the two had been friends together for a long period of time, both attending  Mt. Carmel High before they moved on to Hayward.

Adding suspicion to circumstances, Esteban’s own ex-boyfriend filed a restraining order for himself and their daughter just three days before Le disappeared. According to court documents he filed the restraining order because his ex-girlfriend had been exhibiting erratic and life threatening behavior.

According to police they have collected surveillance video showing Esteban near Le’s vehicle just before and after it was last seen in the hospital parking lot. Police also say they have evidence that Esteban was in Le’s car and that Le’s and Esteban’s cell phones went in the same general direction towards the Niles Canyon/Sunol area on the night in which Le disappeared.

I am almost reluctant to write about this given that it is indeed a real account and the facts are right I wouldn’t want to be seen as promoting the Twitter account of what appears to be a murderer. However if this turns out to be an attempt at some sort of attempt at a viral marketing campaign it’s brilliant.

The account I am referring to goes by the name dinner_guest and was first discovered by TechCrunch Europe then followed up by Zee at The Next Web tech blog. The account first shows up on November 10th with a typical innocuous first message:

With the exception of the last one the rest of the messages for that date are maybe a little strange but give no indication of the road these messages will start to go down. Remember these are reverse chronologically posted messages.

The last message of the day however is a totally different matter as we can begin to see the darkness start to come out.

Personally I am really hoping that this is really just some marketing campaign of some sort because to be honest the alternatives … well that is just sickening.
