It wouldn’t be a quality weekend without one fake celebrity death, and one of the golden oldies claiming Miley Cyrus is dead has resurfaced.

The latest Miley Cyrus dead rumor comes complete (like most of them do) with a car crash story. The claim is that Miley Cyrus was on her way to film the Hannah Montana show and “was in a terrible car accident and died.”

Miley is said to have been struck by a large truck that ran a red light traveling at a speed of about 55 mph.

Like every similar incarnation of the rumor previously, it simply isn’t true. Miley Cyrus is not dead, Miley Cyrus has not died, end of story.

Reports of fake celebrity deaths have become commonplace over weekends, but one fake death rumor keeps raising it’s head: the Miley Cyrus is dead rumor.

According to the rumor, which probably now counts as an urban legend, Miley Cyrus died in a car crash in Los Angeles at the weekend. The rumor often makes claims such as TMZ broke the story. There’s even a photograph allegedly showing Miley dead; sadly for the family involved the pictures are of a girl named Nikki Catsouras who was decapitated in a car accident last year.

But because we haven’t finished yet, who can leave out the Miley Cyrus obituary videos on YouTube. The videos, often the same ones as the last time the rumor surfaced are reuploaded to appear nice and fresh…like Miley just died.

Without even the smallest amount of doubt, Miley Cyrus is not dead.

Miley Cyrus dead, killed by a drunk driver?

You know it’s a quiet weekend when yet another celebrity is said to have died, and this weekend it’s reports that Miley Cyrus is dead.

The rumor seems to have started by a video uploaded to YouTube that included the following statement:
“Miley died this morning after being hit by a drunk driver. She always told us if anything ever happened to her then tell her loyal fans first before the public. R.I.P Miley, we’ll never forget you!”

Another site has an alleged statement from the “President of Walt Disney Records,” although I’d note that the statement is even more poorly written than the alleged death statement:

This Is The President Of Walt Disney Records And I Can Honestly Say That Miley Cyrus AKA Hannah Montana Is Not Dead And She Is Currently In New York City Doing The Final Episode Of TRL. We Are Doing Our Best To Find Out Who This Hacker Is. Thanks You For Your Concerns Miley Fans”

Like any online rumor we can’t be 100% sure it’s not true, but given no mainstream news site has picked it up, we’re calling it false.
