Jackson fans in France have gone to court and are aiming to sue Murray for “emotional distress.” The news comes just a week after Murray was told he must forfeit his medical license. Safe to say 2012 is not looking much brighter than 2011 for Murray.

Lawyer Emmanuel Ludot is representing over one hundred Jackson fans, all of whom seem determined to kick a man when he’s down in the name of a quick personal payout. Murray has been a target of Jackson fans since the singer’s 2009 death and the physician’s subsequent conviction for involuntary manslaughter. This is the first time revenge has been pursued through the courts, however. Ludot told AFP:

“It’s similar to losing a childhood friend in a traffic accident. Because this death affects you, you have the possibility to file a suit and seek compensation.”

Reportedly, fans could receive $13,000 apiece if the lawsuit is successful. Each fan will file an individual lawsuit, though some fans (to their credit) say they aren’t seeking money, and are only interested in claiming a symbolic amount in damages equivalent to one euro.

Murray was sentenced to the maximum penalty of four years of incarceration; according to Los Angeles County Sheriff officials, he’s expected to serve a little less than two years in the Los Angeles County Jail, due to California prison overcrowding.

The impressions of Michael’s hands and feet will be made that day to celebrate the debut of “Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour”, a production by a group you may have heard of, Cirque du Soleil. In a poetic move, the producers have rallied the late singer’s kids together to commit Michael’s hands and feet to the forecourt.

If your first thought was the same as mine, so undeniably morbid that it doesn’t bear repeating, fear not. 14-year-old Prince, 13-year-old Paris, and 9-year-old Blanket will be using Michael’s iconic sequined glove and shoes to make the impressions. Alongside the trio will be the Chinese’s new owners, movie producer Donald Kushner, and entrepreneur Elie Samaha, who have all had a hand in removing old slabs and replacing them with fresh talent.

Though the film community has been in some uproar over several recent inductees (the entire Twilight crew and several fictional characters t’boot) that they believe don’t quite size-up to the honor, no one’s made any ado about Michael’s planned ceremony.

This posthumous honor is unique to Michael; this will be the first time that the guest of honor hasn’t been alive for his or her own print ceremony.

Dr. Conrad Murray is serving a four-year jail term in the death of pop legend Michael Jackson and now he has been formally asked to turn over his medical license.

The formal request was filed with the courts on December 29 and comes about after Murray was convicted of felony for his part in Michael Jackson’s death.

The request was made by the California medical board after Murray was convicted of manslaughter in November, a felony charge that is not allow when practicing medicine.

Michael Jackson’s private possessions from the rented mansion where he died in June, 2009, are currently being auctioned off by Julien’s Auctions in Beverly Hills. All of the furnishings, minus Michael Jackson’s death bed, are being put up for sale.

Julien’s Auction House has recreated several rooms from Jackson’s mansions, giving Michael Jackson fans a unique auction experience.

Jamie Khawaja told Sky News:

“We want people when they come and see all this beautiful stuff that was in his last home just to be embraced by his spirit. Especially during the holidays, it is all about love and friendship and coming together and that is what he was all about so we did all this for him and we had a great time doing it.”

The Michael Jackson auction includes nearly 600 items up for sale. Darren Julien, of Julien’s Auctions, said that antique furniture, signed mirrors, paintings, and Michael Jackson’s piano will be going up for auction.

Julien said:

“The pieces that are really going to sell for a lot are the items that can be identified as being associated with Michael Jackson, like the armoire from his private bedroom… He wrote on the mirror so when Michael would see himself in the mirror he could see the notes he made to encourage himself to perform.”

Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris is- despite her father’s efforts to keep her out of the public eye- embarking on a career in show business.

Out of all the celebrities in recent memory, it’s hard to think of one who struggled with the pressures of fame more than the late king of pop. It’s difficult to imagine whether, had he lived past the age of 50, Jackson would have wanted a similar future for his three children Paris, Prince Michael and Blanket. But the now 13-year-old says it was her father’s career and talents that have inspired her to follow in his rather large footsteps. The teen went on Ellen DeGeneres’ popular talk show Ellen to discuss her ambitions, and talked a bit about her dad’s influence on her budding career from when she was very young, Paris explains:

“I love acting… When I was really little, my Dad was in the movie Moonwalker, and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act. I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him.’”

The pop star’s daughter also recalls her father’s habit of putting masks on his kids before the family ventured into public spaces, and says that while she thought it was silly at the time, she now understands the lengths her father went to to protect the kids:

“I’m like, ‘This is stupid why am I wearing a mask?’ But I kind of realized the older I got like he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us too. I do have like a regular childhood. I mean, I’m treated the same. When I came to [school] they didn’t know who I was. I was like, ‘Yes, I have a chance to be normal.’”

Buyers interested in creepy items will have their hands full when Julien’s Auctions holds their upcoming sale of Michael Jackson items.

Julien’s Auctions owner Darren Julien revealed to E! News that the auctions most talked about item will be the bed where Michael Jackson died with bidding starting somewhere in the vicinity of $3,000 to $5,000 (they will let the market dictate the final sales price).

The December auction will also include various other items taken from the 55,000-square-foot rental property in Southern, California where Michael Jackson spent his last days.

The death bed isn’t the only item on the auction block, also up for grabs will be a kitchen chalkboard with a note that reads “I ♥ Daddy.” Interested buyers can also bid on upholstered chairs that were smudged with Michael Jackson’s makeup and various pieces of artwork from throughout the house including sculptures, paintings and antique furnishings.

Buyers looking for Michael Jackson inspiration can also bid on an armoire where Jackson wrote an inspirational message on the mirror for his “This Is It” tour which was in the middle of rehearsals before the singer passed away. The armoire’s inspirational message reads:

“TRAIN, perfection, March April. FULL OUT May.”

MSNBC will air a special Dr. Conrad Murray documentary on Friday @ 10 PM ET. The documentary will show how Murray’s legal defense team prepared for his involuntary manslaughter trial.

Titled Michael Jackson and the Doctor the program will also re-air on Sunday @ 9 PM ET and is being called the untold inside story of the Dr. Conrad Murray trial.

In the documentary British reporter Steve Hewlett interviews Murray and according to MSNBC:

“October Films spent two years gaining exclusive access to Dr. Conrad Murray and his defense team, led by Ed Chernoff, a Houston-based defense lawyer, and J. Michael Flanagan, a Los Angeles-based defense lawyer. In a series of very personal interviews, Murray discusses in detail Jackson’s fragile health and mental state, yet unstoppable dedication to creating a successful world tour. The documentary gained access into the closed-door meetings with Dr. Murray’s defense team both before and during the trial, giving a look into their strategy and how they pieced the case together.”

The 58-year-old cardiologist was found guilty on Monday of manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson after a jury of his peers found him guilty of a propofol overdose.

Murray now faces up to four years in jail, a sentence that could be handed down on November 29 during the doctors sentencing.

Dr. Conrad Murray, the physician who was treating Michael Jackson at the time of his passing has been found guilty in the death of the famous pop singer.

Murray’s verdict came after a jury of seven men and five women deliberated for nine hours over a two day period. Murray was charged with the lowest degree of homicide and now faces up to four years in prison and a minimum sentence of probation.

With his right to practice medicine already suspended it’s also likely that the doctor will lose his medical license.

The case came to a head after various witnesses testified to egregious medical missteps by the doctor that included providing non-monitored propofol, failing to use basic resuscitation methodology and failure to keep proper records, all circumstances that experts say led to the singers death.

At the center of the case was Conrad Murray’s own admission to police that he gave Michael Jackson propofol just prior to his death after the singer reportedly “begged for it” along with two other drugs earlier in the day. Expert testimony also revealed that Dr. Conrad Murray lied about the amount of the drug he administered to the king of pop.

Attempting to shift blame over the incident Dr. Murray’s defense team said it was the pop singer himself who administered the overdose of the drug while swallowing a sedative, a deadly drug concoction that left Michael Jackson dead and Dr. Conrad Murray in the clear.

The Dr. Conrad Murray trial is coming to a close. The jury is now considering the fate of Dr. Conrad Murray who is being charged with the involuntary manslaughter of Michael Jackson.

CNN reports that the jury, consisting of seven men and five women, heard from 49 witnesses over 23 days. The jury listened to testimony from Murray’s girlfriends, patients, medical experts, and some of Michael Jackson’s former employees.

Prosecutors said that there was “overwhelming” evidence that Dr. Conrad Murray had caused Michael Jackson’s death in 2009. The defense argued that if the man in question wasn’t Michael Jackson, there wouldn’t have even been a trial for Dr. Conrad Murray.

Defense lawyer Ed Chernoff said in his closing statements that this was a negligence case, not criminal, and that Dr. Conrad Murray should be standing in front of the state medical board not a jury.

Chernoff said:

“If it were anybody else but Michael Jackson, would this doctor be here today?”

It was determined earlier by the LA County’s coroner that Jackson died of  ”acute propofol intoxication” in combination with two sedatives.

The Wrap reports that the question before the jury is: Did Michael Jackson’s overdose occur from a steady IV drip put in place by Dr. Conrad Murray, or did Jackson inject the surgical anesthetic propofol by himself?

Prosecutor David Walgren asked the jury to have sympathy for Jackson’s children while considering the case of Conrad Murray.

Walgren said:

“Conrad Murray left Prince, Paris and Blanket without a father. For them, this case doesn’t end today, or tomorrow. For Michael’s children, this case will go on forever, because they do not have a father, they do not have a father because of the actions of Conrad Murray.”

One of the more compelling things about Michael Jackson is that those who were closest to him often don’t have a bad thing to say about the troubled king of pop- but the late singer always comes in for a few comments about how eccentric, offbeat or even unsettling he was to those who knew Jackson in person.

Rashida Jones- who we last heard from when she was making out with Zooey Deschanel- knew the pop star via her dad, Quincy Jones. And like many, Rashida doesn’t seem to think anything untoward about Jackson- but she does admit he wasn’t always Joe Average. Jones talked about her family friend in a recent interview, describing his strange antics and likening the musician to an “alien.” She explains:

“Michael basically grew up with us, so I have a million memories of him. We were at each other’s house all the time… He was definitely a little bit of an alien, for sure, and when I was young, it felt as if he was my age, not 18 years older, but with just a little bit more pep.”

Jones’ experience with Jackson- that she felt on his level and not that he was older or treated her like a child- echoes recent recollections by child star Soleil Moon Frye about the pop king. Jones says eventually the pair would go out together- not on dates, but just for fun:

“Later, we’d go out on the town together. He always wore those surgical masks. Once, my sister, Michael, Emmanuel Lewis and I got in a car with Super Soakers and went by a movie theater and supersoaked the hell out of people waiting in line. They had no idea they’d just been supersoaked by the King of Pop.”

In what might possibly be the most shocking moment of the Dr. Conrad Murray manslaughter trial a naked photo of the deceased Michael Jackson was briefly shown on television Tuesday.

The photo which showed a blacked out genital area revealed Michael Jackson lying on his back on an autopsy table in 2009. The singer died at the age of 50.

In a closeup the singer’s arm was shown with remnants of an IV hook-up and medical tape.

The images in question were used by forensic pathologist Christopher Rogers who provided expert testimony. Rogers was responsible for Jackson’s autopsy and for determining that Jackson had died from an overdose of the anesthetic propofol.

According to Rodgers he knows the cause of death because of the way Murray used propofol improperly and because it was “implausible” that Jackson had administered the fatal level within the two minute time frame for which Murray said he stepped away.

As Dr. Conrad Murray stands trial, thousands of fans and three generations of Jacksons gathered in the UK for the Michael Jackson Tribute concert, “Michael Forever.”

The Michael Jackson Tribute concert has been plagued with difficulties. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the unfortunate scheduling of the concert, which coincides with Murray’s trial, left Janet Jackson unable to perform. The Black-Eyed Peas also pulled out at the last minute due to “unforseen circumstances.” Organizers had also scheduled Gene Simmons and Kiss to perform, but fans complained that Simmons had once called Jackson a pedophile, so Kiss was dropped from the bill.

Despite the controversy surrounding the Michael Jackson Tribute concert, stars like Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx, and Christina Aguilera gathered to play some of Jackson’s most popular hits.

Ne-Yo said:

“It’s not about the controversy. It’s not about the trial. It’s not about his death. It’s about celebrating his life. It’s about celebrating his music.”

The Associated Press reports that the stars stepped out onto a giant stage shaped like a silver glove. Smokey Robinson, Gladys Knight, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson, and Cee Lo Gree also performed during the “Michael Forever” show.

The performers played selections from Jackson’s entire career. From his early days with the Jackson 5 to his iconic solo albums like “Thriller.”

The Black Eyed Peas have decided to pull out of a Michael Jackson tribute concert that is scheduled to be held in Wales.

According to the shows organizers the band was met with “unavoidable circumstances” that forced them to pull out of the show.

Regardless of the Peas missing the event Chris Hunt, chief executive of Global Live Events expects the show to be a “fantastic evening” stating:

“Due to unavoidable circumstances, the Black Eyed Peas will be unable to perform at this Saturday’s Michael Forever event. It is with regret that we announce the removal of Black Eyed Peas from the Michael Forever bill, but I look forward to a great night with other earth shattering artists. The event is really getting into gear and is going to be a fantastic evening for all.”

Still on the shows list for the Cardiff Millennium Stadium show are:

Making a video appearance will be the pregnant superstar Beyonce.

The cast of Cirque du Soleil took to the stage on Friday night to perform The Immortal World Tour the biggest project authorized by the Jackson estate since Michael Jackson died in 2009.

In attendance for the show was Tito, Jackie and Marlon Jackson along with Michael’s mother Katherine and his children Prince, Paris and Blanket.

The Sunday show was the first in a 47-city North American tour that officially begins on Oct. 15 in Detroit and wraps up in Chicago on July 20.

According to USA Today the Montreal show drew in an audience from all over the world with some show visitors wearing Jackson’s classical Thriller jacket and singular white glove.

The Jackson show is directed by Jamie King and was choreographed by longtime Jackson associates that included Travis Payne.

It has also been pointed out that the show is not your typical “Cirque du Soleil” event and was instead intended to be more of a “fantasy concert” featuring Jackson’s signature moves with Cirque’s own flare for the oddly extravagant.

After the show Tito Jackson said of the performance:

“That was Michael’s message — to help us understand that love is so important.”

Jackie added that the song Gone Too Soon was especially moving for the family, revealing, “Our mother is probably bawling out there somewhere.”

Son of the late king of pop Michael Jackson, Prince Michael Jackson, will be making his first appearance without a family escort on November 10th.

Although Jackson will be making his first appearance without a Jackson clan rep, he won’t be entirely alone. The 14-year-old will be on hand for the auction of handwritten lyrics to his father’s hit “Bad” at a charity auction in the late fall. The auction- in Berlin, the site of the elder Jackson’s infamous 2005 baby-dangling stunt- will benefit the Tribute to Bambi foundation, a German charity dedicated to assisting needy children.

As for the event details, a spokesman for the shindig says Prince Michael will be integrated, and that the popstar’s son “will walk the red carpet and present the manuscript on stage surrounded by children.” Another source commented on Prince Michael’s first real foray away from the Jackson fam:

“He won’t be traveling alone… but he won’t have any family members with him.”

The younger Jackson and his siblings Paris and Blanket were notoriously close and even protective of their famous dad, and the three were understandably grief stricken when Jackson passed away somewhat suddenly in 2009. At the memorial for the star, daughter Paris sobbed:

“Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine … I just wanted to say I love him … so much.”

The eldest Jackson child, Prince Michael is expected to testify against his father’s personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, at his manslaughter trial. One source close to the family said:

“Both the DA’s office and his relatives believe Prince Michael’s evidence is crucial to the case against Dr Murray and could even blow his entire defense out of the water.”
