Michael Jackson’s death certificate, issued July 7, 2009, states that he was 50 years old, divorced, a black male, and that his profession was a musician. His mother is listed as Katherine Esther Scruse and father as Joseph Walter Jackson. Michael Jackson was pronounced dead at Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center.

Official cause of death has been listed as ‘deferred’ until toxicology reports from the autopsy are ready sometime in the next few weeks.

On the red carpet at the BET awards, epic douche Joe Jackson mourned not his son, but the “greatest star… superstar in the world.”

With Michael now gone, his dad needs a new source of income, so after telling a reporter he and the family are “doing great!” Joe Jackson goes on to drop a shameless plug for his new record company.

It’s a telling legacy for Michael that while his body isn’t even cold yet his dad is trying to wring a few more dollars out of his lifeless corpse.

In the wake of the internet’s biggest day since the September 11th attacks, purveyors of spam and malware have been having a field day with copious morbid web searches driving traffic to their sites.

Searches surrounding the circumstances of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett’s deaths coupled with stirrings of curiousity surrounding recent celebrity deaths have given spammers and malware pushers a new in as news-hungry web surfers click on every link promising “shocking videos” and “exclusive photos.”

Infections are on the rise from unsolicited e-mails promising pictures and video and subsequently installing malware toolbars. Although most users with a lick of internet sense won’t open these kinds of e-mails, your mother might.

And web searches are not immune, either. A New York Times blog reports:

Also yesterday, scammers were using Farrah Fawcett’s death from cancer to reel in victims. Sophos discovered a Web-based attack by running a simple Google search about the star. On the first page of results was a link to a site claiming to have news, pictures and videos, but a click on the link redirected visitors to a page attempting to scam people with fake antivirus software, known by security experts as scareware.

TraceLabs posted some really obvious helpful tips to avoid getting your computer infected:

• Spam messages with outrageous headlines relating to Michael Jackson, URL links or attachments encouraging you to open to view a video or read a report. Expect to see topics such as ‘Mr. Jackson being frozen for future re-animation’ or ‘Jackson still alive, it was all a publicity stunt’.
  • If you receive messages such as this, do not open the attachment or click on the link. Go directly to a trusted or reputable news agency for your information.

• Be very cautious using search engines such as Google to find information about Farah Fawcett or Michael Jackson. Look carefully at where links in search results point to.
  • Update your browser to the latest version. Many of these malicious search link results will probably point at sites using browser vulnerabilities to automatically trigger and infect you. There is a dramatically reduced chance of this happening if you are running the latest browser versions.

• Be wary of Twitter, Facebook, MySpace updates and the like, mentioning Jackson or Fawcett. Hackers are increasingly using social networking sites and user contribution (Web 2.0) sites for malicious purposes.
  • These messages may come from people you know but you should not automatically trust them. Hackers rely on you assuming that the message is safe because of who it comes from. Resist the temptation to click on these links. Do your own investigation or go directly to your friend’s social networking page to see what they are saying rather than following the link you were sent.

• Blogs will be another popular tool for scammers. Expect to see links pointing to blog sites with wording directly related to the death of Michael Jackson or Farah Fawcett. Criminals use free blogging services to help promote links to their malicious web sites and improve search engine rankings when they are trying to manipulate their ranking on search results for a given topic. Be particularly wary of links on these topics that point to free blog hosting service websites.

Police are now searching for Michael Jackson’s personal physician who gave him a shot of the powerful painkiller, Demerol, before he died.

Police in L.A. are putting the word out via the media that they want to interview the doctor who gave Michael Jackson a shot of Demerol before he died. Jackson’s family has adamantly insisted since his death that the star was taking too much of the painkiller, given to him by his personal physician. Last night after Jackson’s death, police towed away a BMW belonging to the doctor as part of their investigation, and now the doctor cannot be located.

Speculation now is that Jackson may have overdosed on the drug, and a physician should have known when to stop. Now that the doctor cannot be found, it is possible that the doc may be partially responsible for his death.

I’m willing to bet the doctor will turn up with an attorney real soon.

As news broke of Michael Jackson’s heart attack and subsequent death yesterday, thousands of sites buckled under the load of millions of people coming online to search for the latest news.

The world’s number one search engine, Google.com, was so inundated with searches for the star’s name that it started serving error messages on some searches. Google news took automated preventative measures under the weight of the traffic and started forcing visitors to enter a captcha to view news.

Twitter.com traffic doubled almost instantly, the amount of tweets per second doubled, and peaked at a point higher than during the U.S. presidential election. Sites in Australia saw increases in traffic up to 2000% and celebrity mega-blog, TMZ.com which broke the Michael Jackson death news went offline after being crushed by the load of people trying to access the site. The Daily Mail, one of the biggest tabloid sites in the U.K., doubled their traffic after reporting the news.

And the Inquisitr, the site you’re reading now, being one of the first to report on Michael Jackson’s death after the news broke, experienced traffic spikes that caused intermittent outages and database errors.

It wasn’t just the traffic spikes and outages that were prevalent: Within hours of his death, Michael Jackson’s 1982 album, Thriller, became the number one item on iTunes and Amazon.com saw several of his works hit the top most purchased items on it’s site.

Reactions to the death of Michael Jackson have begun to hit the media, and speculation surrounding Jackson’s cause of death are beginning to surface as well.

Jackson family friend and lawyer Brian Oxman spoke out on CNN, expressing his shock at Jackson’s death but implying that it was neither unlikely nor unexpected. Oxman hinted that Jackson’s situation was far worse than that of Anna Nicole Smith and stated cryptically, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” Oxman also said that Smith’s situation was nothing compared to the level of enabling and drug abuse that he believes lead to Jackson’s shocking death.

Jackson was said to be training hard for a series of comeback concerts with Lou Ferrigno. TMZ posted a statement from ex-publicist Michael Levine:

“As someone who served as Michael Jackson’s publicist during the 1st child molestation incident, I must confess I am not surprised by today’s tragic news.

Michael has been on an impossibly difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. His talent was unquestionable but so too was his discomfort with the norms of the world.

A human simply can not withstand this level of prolonged stress.”

Celebrity fans were more mournful and less speculative, as seen in this series of tweets posted on TMZ:

Intouch Weekly print edition are running a story that Michael Jackson is so sick, with a rare genetic disease that he might die. For realz, this time, not faking it to get out of some sort of court appearance, jail cell etc.

According to Intouch Michael has the rare genetic disease Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency.

award-winning investigative journalist Ian Halperin tells In Touch that he believes that the King of Pop is fighting for is life. “Michael has a very severe lung condition called Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency,” Halperin, a New York Times best-selling author, tells In Touch exclusively. “He’s had it for years but it’s gotten worse. He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it. He also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding, which his doctors have had a lot of trouble stopping. It’s the bleeding that is the most problematic part. It could kill him.”

Because this genetic disease is so rare – Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency affects just 1 in 5,000 Americans – it’s been difficult to treat, says Halperin. “For years, Michael has been working with his own doctors to make sure his condition doesn’t progress. He has been on many medications that have stabilized him.” But as the disease has progressed, Halperin says that the pop star’s quality of life has diminished. “He can barely speak,” says Halperin. “Also, the vision in his left eye is 95 percent gone.”

Michael Jackson’s brother Jermaine Jackson confirmed to Foxnews that Michael was desperately ill saying. “He’s not doing so well right now. This isn’t a good time.”

I guess that puts paid to the much talked about Jackson Five tour.
