In preparation for the December auction of various items from the 55,000-square-foot rental property in the heart of Los Angeles where Michael Jackson spent his last days, the Julien’s auction house allowed the Today show inside for a tour.

Take a tour of his inner sanctum, previously off limits to everyone, including his kids and security. As for the auction, Inquisitr reported it here as well.

Michael Jackson, one of the largest owners of property on the moon, will have a moon crater named after him in honor of his infamous Moon Walk dance move.

The crater was previously named Posidonius J and is located on an area of the moon known as the Lake of Dreams, or Lacus Somniorum. It is 22 kilometers across, or about 13.5 miles and is located next to a 1,200 acre parcel of moonscape that is owned by Jackson, according to the Lunar Republic Society.

I wonder who did Michael Jackson leave the moon property to in his will? That would have to be the most unusual inheritance anyone on this planer ever received.

The dancing inmates are back with a tribute performance dedicated to Michael Jackson.

After gaining international fame for their viral rendition of “Thriller,” complete with orange jumpsuits and what I think may be a ladyboy, the inmates at the Cebu Detention and Rehabilitation Center performed their famous routine again in tribute to the fallen star, flawlessly.

CNN reports that the inmates practiced for ten hours straight, breaking at 3am to rest for the public performance. Prisoners generally dance for five hours daily, or face losing priveleges such as conjugal rights. You can see the original “Thriller” performance here.

Michael Jackson’s MIA doctor, believed to have administered the possibly fatal shot of Demerol to Jackson, has been identified and the 911 call is set to be released, according to TMZ.

Reports on the gossip site also have the doctor as frantically trying to resucitate Jackson, who was believed to be dead by EMTs at the scene. The doctor allegedly resisted attempts to pronounce Jackson dead and there are reports of evidence of extensive CPR performed on the singer and the presence of Lidocaine, used to treat heart arrhythmia.

Dr. Conrad Robert Murray had been living with Jackson at the rented mansion in Holmby Hills, and friends and family members have spoken to the media about long-time suspicions that the singer was over-medicated to a dangerous degree. Murray is a cardiologist from Houston, and his car was towed from Jackson’s home by LA coroner’s office investigators last night in the course of the investigation of Michael Jackson’s death.

The coroner’s office has indicated that full toxicology reports detailing which substances may have killed the singer may not be available for up to eight weeks. Funeral arrangements for Michael Jackson have not yet been made public.

As news broke of Michael Jackson’s heart attack and subsequent death yesterday, thousands of sites buckled under the load of millions of people coming online to search for the latest news.

The world’s number one search engine, Google.com, was so inundated with searches for the star’s name that it started serving error messages on some searches. Google news took automated preventative measures under the weight of the traffic and started forcing visitors to enter a captcha to view news.

Twitter.com traffic doubled almost instantly, the amount of tweets per second doubled, and peaked at a point higher than during the U.S. presidential election. Sites in Australia saw increases in traffic up to 2000% and celebrity mega-blog, TMZ.com which broke the Michael Jackson death news went offline after being crushed by the load of people trying to access the site. The Daily Mail, one of the biggest tabloid sites in the U.K., doubled their traffic after reporting the news.

And the Inquisitr, the site you’re reading now, being one of the first to report on Michael Jackson’s death after the news broke, experienced traffic spikes that caused intermittent outages and database errors.

It wasn’t just the traffic spikes and outages that were prevalent: Within hours of his death, Michael Jackson’s 1982 album, Thriller, became the number one item on iTunes and Amazon.com saw several of his works hit the top most purchased items on it’s site.

Reactions to the death of Michael Jackson have begun to hit the media, and speculation surrounding Jackson’s cause of death are beginning to surface as well.

Jackson family friend and lawyer Brian Oxman spoke out on CNN, expressing his shock at Jackson’s death but implying that it was neither unlikely nor unexpected. Oxman hinted that Jackson’s situation was far worse than that of Anna Nicole Smith and stated cryptically, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.” Oxman also said that Smith’s situation was nothing compared to the level of enabling and drug abuse that he believes lead to Jackson’s shocking death.

Jackson was said to be training hard for a series of comeback concerts with Lou Ferrigno. TMZ posted a statement from ex-publicist Michael Levine:

“As someone who served as Michael Jackson’s publicist during the 1st child molestation incident, I must confess I am not surprised by today’s tragic news.

Michael has been on an impossibly difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. His talent was unquestionable but so too was his discomfort with the norms of the world.

A human simply can not withstand this level of prolonged stress.”

The “King of Pop” Michael Jackson has died today after suffering a major heart attack at the age of 50.

Born in 1958, Jackson debuted on the music scene at the age of 11 as a member of The Jackson 5, and later went on to launch a solo career that would break records world wide.

After reasonable success with the album Off the Wall in 1979, Jackson changed the world of music with the album Thriller in 1982. As well as being credited as the first African-American musician to gain a crossover following on MTV, Jackson also helped define modern music video, turning the medium into both an art form and massive promotional tool.

His follow-up to Thriller, the 1987 album Bad sold over 30 million copies worldwide, and shipped 8 million units in the United States. Bad is the first, and currently only album ever to feature five Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles.

It was around the time that Jackson news started to take a turn towards the strange, and in later years he became better known for his eccentric ways and predilection for children. 1991′s Dangerous sold well, but didn’t copy the single success of the albums before it. 1995′s best of, Jackson’s 9th and final album HIStory is credited as having the largest number of sales on record for a multi-disk album.

Despite the negatives surrounding Jackson’s personal behavior, Jackson was an enormous supporter of charities, having donated and raised millions of dollars for beneficial causes through his foundation, charity singles and support of 39 charities.

Jackson’s health took a serious turn for the worse in late 2008 when it was reported he was suffering from a severe lung condition called Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, a genetic disorder so rare it is difficult to treat.

Jackson has survived by his three children.
