Christopher Nolan may have found his replacement for long-time collaborator Wally Pfister in The Fighter and Let the Right One In cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema.

The info should still be classified as “rumor” until Nolan himself weighs in, but Van Hoytema spilled the beans to Dutch website Film Abides in a recent interview, and seriously, how often do you catch cinematographers stirring up trouble?

Nolan has worked with Pfister, who is moving on to direct Transcendence, since the two collaborated on Memento. But considering Van Hoytema’s background in working with film over digital, it shouldn’t be difficult connecting.

The only potential issue, according to IndieWire, could lie in the cinematographer’s inexperience working with IMAX, which Interstellar will utilize in the same manner as The Dark Knight Rises.

Prior credits for Van Hoytema have been successful, though low-key, productions. We don’t expect he’ll have any issue working his way into blockbuster realms, which this is sure to be when it releases on November 7, 2014.

The plot has been shrouded in mystery thus far, though we do know a bit of the broad strokes.

Based on a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity, the film had once attracted none other than Steven Spielberg, who wanted to develop an adventure movie based on the concept of traveling through wormholes.

In fact, the film was announced in 2006 before Christopher Nolan came to the project. A year later, Jonathan Nolan was brought in to write the screenplay, and as of 2010, the two (Spielberg and Jonathan Nolan) were expected to collaborate.

(We haven’t seen Spielberg’s name associated with the project in any of the recent casting announcements — Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway will star — so it’s safe to say he’s not involved in any way.)

A few days ago we reported the news that The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan was after Matthew McConaughey for his new film Interstellar. We had argued that maybe people, notably McConaughey, can say no to Nolan, since he was only being pursued at that point.

It turns out that Matthew McConaughey is joining the ranks of actors who “just can’t say no” to the prolific director and that he has taken the lead role in the upcoming film Interstellar. The film, which remains vague in its plot, is sure to be a blockbuster. Although Nolan started his career off with lighter indie fare, he has now taken over with blockbuster hits like the Dark Knight trilogy and Inception.

The news of Matthew McConaughey’s confirmation in Interstellar happened when McConaughey spoke with Minneapolis Star-Tribune. When the subject of the sci fi project came up for discussion, Matthew simply said, “I’m confirming.”

So far that’s the only bit of news that has been offered up on the new Nolan project. Last week we reported that if Matthew accepted he would be playing a lead named Cooper, but other than that, the project has remained top-secret, which is normal for any Christopher Nolan project. It’s a smart move too, because if anything the ambiguity of this films generates a lot of buzz.

As we reported last week, Interstellar was originally a project brought to Steven Spielberg years ago from Nolan’s brother Jonathan Nolan. When it was obvious the project wasn’t going anywhere, Christopher Nolan rewrote the script back in January.

So far the description we can offer up about the film is that it will: “depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.”

What we do know is that this is a huge year for Matthew McConaughey. The actor made an interesting turn in The Paperboy, while also being a scene stealer in Magic Mike, and has  received rave reviews for his lead performance in Mud out of Sundance.

Still, the question remains: Is McConaughey ready to tackle the world of sci fi? Do you think the actor is versatile enough?

The tide sure has changed for Matthew McConaughey. It was only a few years ago that the actor was known for his lightweight romantic comedies, and now he’s left that image in the dust. Over the last two years he’s had stellar performances in Magic Mike, The Paperboy, and just barely missing a shot at competing for Oscar gold.

With all of that success it’s no wonder that McConaughey has director Christopher Nolan fast on his track. The actor, who dropped a tremendous amount of weight for his upcoming film Dallas Buyers Club, is being eyed for Nolan’s Interstellar. Interstellar is Nolan’s first run at an original film since finishing the 2012 The Dark Knight rises franchise.

Like most starts to Nolan’s film projects, the story around Interstellar doesn’t tell us much. Instead, Nolan offers up a vague one-sentence description. The film will, “depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding.”

That said this film has promise, as it’s believed that Nolan’s brother and collaborator Jonathan Nolan has been long developing the project since 2007. Back then Steven Spielberg was set to direct it, but now that Christopher Nolan has the script in his hands, reports are coming in that McConaughey is his guy.

If McConaughey agrees to take the lead in Interstellar he’ll play a character named Cooper, and so far that’s all we know, but we’re sure Cooper will have a little of that Southern charm McConaughey gives to his characters.

Though Matthew McConaughey isn’t locked into the film just yet, Deadline has countered that no one says “No” to Christopher Nolan. However, McConaughey’s plate is sure filling up since his Magic Mike role. The actor is set to appear in the well-received Mud, The Wolf of Wall Street to promote during Oscar season, and has two other projects in pre-production.

Matthew McConaughey has ditched his scary gaunt look and packed the muscle back on for his role in True Detectives.

Photos from the crime drama shoot in New Orleans show a much more familiar-looking (and healthy-looking) McConaughey strutting around set in a tight wife beater. McConaughey seemed to be back to his stated goal weight of 165 pounds, which he was nearing as of January.

The 43-year-old Lincoln Lawyer actor dropped a whopping 30 pounds for his role as an AIDS patient in Dallas Buyers Club. Early photos from the set of the film shocked celebrity media, showing a dramatic drop from a healthy 170 pounds down to 143 pounds for the role.

In a recent interview, McConaughey revealed that he dreamed of meticulously crafting and consuming a cheeseburger after the grueling five-week shoot.

“I’ll prepare it all and I’ll make sure that it takes three hours just to prepare,” he said. “I’m going to have buns with butter on both sides, toasted and grilled. I’m going to melt the cheese on the top bun, Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise. I want kosher dill pickles sliced nice and thin, diced white onions, slightly grilled until they get almost hard, and some thin jalapeno slices,” he said.

In other Matthew McConaughey-related news, wife Camila Alves McConaughey revealed Wednesday that her most recent pregnancy was a bit more complicated than she let on to the press.

“I had a really tough pregnancy — I had all kinds of things happen throughout the whole [nine months],” she said Wednesday on The View.

“I had strong pains and kept telling the doctors … no one could figure it out. We ended up having to do a c-section,” the 30-year-old explained.

“I told the doctor right before I went in, ‘Once I’m there just take a look, because I know something is wrong.’ They ended up finding all kinds of things in there that we had to take care of.”

The mother of three admitted to some forced downtime, but said that husband  McConaughey and her mother, Fatima, have stepped up at home.

“This recovery has been extremely hard because I had a c-section and all these extra procedures,” she said. “I’m not able to exercise … I can’t even pick up my kids, really. I have to be careful — I have another four weeks to go.”

Jared Leto  donning a wig and makeup to play an AIDS riddled transsexual woman in Dallas Buyer’s Club was not at all shocking to hear. The actor is known to choose his acting roles carefully while taking risks.  The wig and makeup wearing part of the role was not a big risk compared to the shocking  weight loss Leto endured to play the role.

When images were first released of Jared Leto’s shocking transformation in November, fans were visibly and rightfully concerned about his health.  About his weight, Leto told Vulture: “Your body goes through weird stages…it’s more to represent the character. I’m focused on what it means to be a transsexual woman.”

That was back in November when Leto was a month into production alongside co-star Matthew McConaughey, who lost 30 pounds for his role. Now that he seems to have sort of rebounded from weighing only 116 pounds, Leto opened up more about how the experience was.

It should be noted that Jared Leto has made headlines concerning his weight before. Leto gained 67 pounds to play the killer of John Lennon, Mark David Chapman, for film Chapter 27.

While promoting his film Fast Company Grill at SXSW, Leto explained:

“I just basically didn’t eat. I ate very little.”I had done similar things with weight, but this was different. I think the role demanded that commitment. It was about how does that effect how I walk, how I talked, who I am, how I feel. You know, you feel very fragile and delicate and unsafe.”

While filming it was co-star Matthew McConaughey that garnered most of the attention over his weight loss. Known for his fit body, and clean image,  McConaughey at the time said that his weight loss was “If anything, it’s as much a spiritual journey as it is physical.”

Many actors who have gone through dramatic weight changes for roles have experienced medical complications afterward.  Yahoo’s Jessica Elliott suggested that Christian Bale’s dramatic weight loss for The Machinist followed by the immediate bulking up for Batman Begins  put strain on the actor’s heart and emotional status.

Matthew McConaughey is launching a the JKL clothing line. The letters are an abbreviation for the star’s charity – Just Keep Livin’. Although female fans likely enjoy seeing the handsome man with a southern drawl shirtless is a multitude of movie scenes, McConaughey does know how to wear clothes.

The 43-year-old star is designing a line of sportswear for men. The Matthew McConaughey clothing line is being produced by Grand National Apparel, according to the Daily Mail. The company is a Toronto-based private label manufacturer. Grand National Apparel also works with Savane and Perry Ellis.

McConaughey’s idea for the sportswear line came after demand for his charity branded products soared. The Magic Mike star expanded his charity branded items to include hoodies, flip-flops, hats, and t-shirts.

During an interview with WWD, Matthew McConaughey had this to say about his JKL clothing line:

“I like to be able to wear something that is appropriate for wherever the day takes me; to work, on a hike and then out to dinner. I like to take the formality out of the day’s schedule and be ready for any off-road detour.”

The movie star also noted during the interview that the JKL sportswear for men line is his first step into the fashion realm. McConaughey feels that the JKL philosophy makes his clothing line unique. Matthew and his wife Camila, started the JKL Foundation to empower teenagers to make healthy choices and lead healthy lives. The inspiration for the found began when McConaughey was filming Dazed and Confused an struggling with his father’s death.

The Matthew McConaughey JKL clothing line goes on sale at Dillard’s in March. Prices will reportedly be about $30 for t-shirts and $90 for jeans.

The trailer for Matthew McConaughey’s “coming-of-age drama” Mud has just been released online.

Remember when McConaughey had that weird spell a few years ago during which he’d only star in mediocre summer rom-coms that opened to miserable reviews and less-than-enthusiastic box office numbers? Yeah, he seems to be out of that now.

With stunning performances in The Lincoln Lawyer and Magic Mike and early acclaim for his portrayal of an HIV-diagnosed man in The Dallas Buyer’s Club, the 43-year-old father of three is becoming the critical and box office powerhouse he started out as once again.

The upcoming Jeff Nichols film Mud deserves its spot in McConaughey’s pseudo-comeback (did he ever really leave us?), and you can check out the stunning trailer below.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mud, via MSN:

“Mud is a coming-of-age drama centered around two fourteen-year-old boys who encounter a mysterious fugitive hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Intrigued by this man, they enter into a pact to help him evade capture and reconnect with the love of his life. Though it is hard for the boys to discern truth from fiction when it comes to Mud, it isn’t long until their small Arkansas town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of hunters in tow.”

Mud was actually completed in 2012 and competed for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. It will also be shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2013 before its release on April 26, 2013.

Michelle Monaghan has joined Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s HBO drama True Detective.

The eight-episode series follows two detectives, Rust Cohle (McConaughey) and Martin Hart (Harrelson) during their 17-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. A 1995 murder is reopened in 2012, and the series will be interlaced with the original investigation and the detectives’ testimony almost two decades later.

Monaghan will play Maggie Hart, Martin’s wife, who “makes a hard decision that has long-reaching and devastating consequences,” according to TVLine.

The series will be directed by Cary Fukunaga, whose credits include Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre. It will be written by Nic Pizzolatto, who wrote two episodes of the The Killing.

If the series goes beyond one season, each subsequent season will feature a new mystery and a different case.

Monaghan has recently completed three films: Better Living Through Chemistry with Olivia Wilde and Sam Rockwell, Gus with Radha Mitchell and Jon Dore, and Penthouse North with Michael Keaton and Andrew W. Walker. She previously appeared in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner, Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal and Vera Farmiga, and Due Date with Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis.

Monaghan’s True Detective co-star, Woody Harrelson, is currently filming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. He plays Haymitch Abernathy, the only living victor from District 12, and the mentor to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson).

McConaughey is currently filming Dallas Buyer’s Club, which is loosely based on the life of Ron Woodroof, who was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS and given 30 days to live, and begins smuggling non-toxic, anti-viral drugs from all over the world.

Kristen Stewart, a name that both polarizes and inspires, is currently featuring on the front cover of the latest issue of V Magazine.

Alongside the ultra modern, and frankly, beautiful photographs —  shot by famed Dutch duo, Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — in the accompanying article, the 22-year-old talked about her life, what she’s learned, and liberation.

As 2013 casts off, Stewart has already said goodbye to Bella Swan, heroine of the $3.31 billion (and counting) earning Twilight Saga franchise and a cult icon for a generation of moviegoers that took the character — and the actress who brought her to life — to their hearts.

But since standing still is anathema for an artist, it is in the present and to the future that Stewart says she is now looking.

“I am not closed off to anything right now,” she tells V. “That is what I was saying about not having any more walls up. I don’t want to deprive myself of any bit of life.”

Also starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst, Terrence Howard, Amy Adams and Tom Sturridge, the film has already been released in Europe and debuted in New York and Los Angeles on December 21.

Inevitable tabloid focus on the nudity and sexuality of Stewart’s role in it were, in fact, a misreading of her character’s embrace of beatnik sensibilities. Of this, the Cali native says:

“Marylou is remarkable because she’s got a tough core. When you’re a teenager, a year can be crippling to maneuver through. You’re just out there questioning things, and so to be completely okay with that and not think that there’s anything wrong with you, that’s something I’ve recently understood. I’m 22. Marylou started this whole thing when she was 15.”

It’s refreshing to hear someone known as the highest paid actress in the game and one of the most talked about, share her take on the act of acting itself, a profession that confers great privilege but also merciless scrutiny.

“It’s a pretty fucking odd thing to want to pretend to be another person,” says Stewart, “and then have a lot of other people who watch you do that. You have this experience of reading something, and if you don’t bring it to life, you’re basically deleting it. Every day of shooting you’re depriving the world of having that. The responsibility is amazing.”

The only daughter of John and Jules Stewart — a stage manager and script supervisor/director respectively — a career that’s already spanned 14 years now sees Stewart take her place in an elite coterie of young Hollywood’s leading ladies that includes, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, Dakota Fanning, Emma Watson, Chloe Moretz, and Carey Mulligan.

Recent news that the Snow White and The Huntsman sequel is on track will no doubt delight Stewart’s many fans. Now, Warner Bros. just needs to find a new leading man to take Ben Affleck’s place in Focus, the grifter rom-com Stewart has committed to.

It’s likely V’s interview took place before Affleck dropped out, as Stewart’s only comment about the film was that, “the script is really fun and I love the writers and directors, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.”

Here’s a flight of fancy: Not to jump the shark on casting, but the role of a veteran con-artist who becomes romantically involved with a younger, female rookie could be better suited to possibles in the shape of Robert Downey Jr., Matthew McConaughey, Bradley Cooper, Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, or perhaps Johnny Depp.

For now though, Kristen Stewart is clearly ready to step into her year, unfettered by the projections and perceptions of others. “I really love people,” she declares in the interview.

Matthew McConaughey has finally revealed the gender, name, and other details about his third child with wife Camila Alves.

Though we (and many others, including Us Weekly) reported Friday that Matthew McCounaughey and Camila Alves had welcomed a then-unnamed baby girl into their family, the couple actually had another son, Livingston Alves. The actor and his wife announced the details on Whosay Saturday:

“Camila gave birth to our third child yesterday morning. Our son, Livingston Alves McConaughey was born at 7:43am on 12.28.12. He greeted the world at 9lbs. and 21 inches. Bless up and thank you for your well wishes. Happy New year, and just keep livin, Camila and Matthew McConaughey.”

Livingston Alves McConaughey joins 4-year-old Levi Alves and almost-3-year-old Vida Alves. The family live in Austin, in McConaughey’s native Texas.

McConaughey announced Camila’s pregnancy in July. “Happy birthday America.” He tweeted July 4. “More good news,Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep livin.”

McConaughey said that his other two children reacted enthusiastically to the prospect of having a new baby sister or brother. “When Camila and I told them the news there was a lot of dancing and a lot of singing,” he said. “One of them wants a brother, the other one wants a sister and then they switch the next day.”

Austin, TX – Actor Matthew McConaughey and wife Camila Alves welcomed their third child together in Texas this morning according to multiple sources.

The newborn is the couple’s third, joining 4-year-old Levi and 2-year-old Vida shortly after Christmas and just shy of New Years.

E! News confirmed the birth through a source, but did not report on gender, name, or other baby info like birth weight and exact delivery time. However, TMZ reported that the newborn is a girl, the couple’s second daughter.

McConaughey and Alves have been quickly growing their family in the past few years. With the couple’s first children born in 2008 and 2010, 43-year-old McConaughey and 29-year-old Alves were married just this past June in Austin. Guests camped out overnight before the ceremony in deluxe tents and then partied with the newlyweds late into the evening.

McConaughey has also been keeping up with work as well. While Alves’s was eating for two, McConaughey was slimming down for his role as a heterosexual lothario who contracts HIV/AIDS in the upcoming The Dallas Buyers Club.

This summer, Camila joked to People that she and McConaughey “have gone the complete opposite direction eating-wise, but we’re navigating it.”

McConaughey said that his children reacted to the news of their new sibling well. “When Camila and I told them the news there was a lot of dancing and a lot of singing,” he said. “One of them wants a brother, the other one wants a sister and then they switch the next day.”

Matthew McConaughey wants a cheeseburger.

The actor has been so dedicated to a recent role that he lost 40 pounds, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. McConaughey stars in The Dallas Buyer’s Club, where he portrays real-life AIDS victim Ron Woodroof, and, in order to look the part, he went on a crash diet that changed his normally buff frame into an emaciated shell of himself.

McConaughey has made great personal sacrifices for The Dallas Buyer’s Club, but it looks to be worth the while. The movie has been generating buzz in the film world and has even brought Jared Leto back from a hiatus away from acting. Leto, who hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2007, was spotted on set as a crossdresser, The Huffington Post reported.

Matthew McConaughey says his effort to shed weight has been a struggle, and he years for a cheeseburger once it’s over.

McConaughey told Hitfix.com:

“I will have some 70 percent beef, 30 percent fat ground beef, maybe a half-pound cheeseburger with another three types of cheese. I’ll prepare it all and I’ll make sure that it takes three hours just to prepare.

“I’m going to have buns with butter on both sides, toasted and grilled. I’m going to melt the cheese on the top bun, Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise. I want kosher dill pickles sliced nice and thin, diced white onions, slightly grilled until they get almost hard, and some thin jalapeno slices.

“Your organs shrink (and) my stomach has shrunk as well. So, as much as I can’t wait to have that cheeseburger on the day (shooting ends), it’ll probably be damn hard to eat the whole thing.”

Dallas Buyer’s Club is also generating Oscar Best Actor buzz for Matthew McConaughey, Black Book Magazine reported, so the actor can definitely reward himself with a cheeseburger when it’s done shooting.

Matthew McConaughey recently discussed his shocking weight loss with the folks at HitFix. The actor is portraying an AIDS patient in the forthcoming drama The Dallas Buyers Club.

Since accepting the role in the movie, McConaughey has lost a whopping 38 pounds in order to show the physical toll AIDS takes on the human body. At the time of the interview, the actor revealed that he only weighed 143 pounds.

The Killer Joe star explained that losing so much weight is a lot harder than most people may realize.

“Getting past 170 was really hard, but then once you get 167, the next seven come off easy. Getting past 160, really hard, but then you fly down to 150,” Matthew McConaughey explained.

He added, “Getting past 150 was really hard and then, Bam! Got down to 143 and that’s where I want to be. So, once you get past the plateau, your body seems to understand, ‘OK, this is where we’re leaving now, this is where we are,’ and so the energy rises.”

Once the five week shot has wrapped, the actor said he plans to bid farewell to the diet in a most spectacular way. If he can’t get his mitts on a po boy, McConaughey intends to celebrate by chowing down on a cheeseburger.

Here’s how the actor describes his ideal post-diet meal:

Of course, the Magic Mike co-star isn’t the only actor who has lost a dramatic amount of weight for a movie role. Christian Bale lost dozens of pounds to portray Trevor Reznik in Brad Anderson’s 2004 thriller The Machinist.

Matthew McConaughey is allegedly looking so skinny that he was barely recognizable when spotted at the New Orleans airport leaving for the set of The Dallas Buyers Club over the weekend. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the enigmatic actor underwent a drastic weight transformation in preparation for playing an AIDS patient in the movie.

McConaughey reportedly dropped nearly 40 pounds before the cameras started rolling, according to ABC News. The 43-year-old star is portraying an AIDS patient who was seeking experimental HIV treatment during the 1980s. The normally muscular actor was photographed at a New Orleans airport when he was hopping a flight to Los Angeles to begin filming on Sunday, OMG Yahoo notes.

The Dallas Buyers Club star had this to say during an interview with Larry King:

“It’s a bit of a spiritual cleanse, mental cleanse. I’m drinking a lot of tea. It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off itself, and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside. I should not look healthy by the time I’m doing this.”

A gaunt McConaughey has been fasting on a diet fresh fish and a daily glass of wine, according to Indiewire. The Magic Mike star is reportedly down from 182 to 143 pounds, according to USA Today.

Throngs of female fans who lust after the normally well-toned star and have included him on their “monogamy with exceptions” list will likely be thrilled when The Dallas Buyers Club filming wraps and McConaughey’s typical physique returns. The actor is reportedly shifting his approach to picking projects and is “most interested” in taking chances and engaging in challenging roles.

Matthew McConaughey is throwing himself into a new role where he plays a man struck with AIDS in the 1980s, losing close to 30 pounds for the role and making for some shocking images of the normally fit actor.

Though McConaughey has been showing off his dramatic weight loss throughout the summer, new pictures that emerged this week detail just how gaunt the actor now looks. The latest pictures, published in People, show a very thin looking Matthew McConaughey leaving leaving a church in Austin, Texas, and leaning on his mother for support.

The Daily Mail reports that McConaughey has lost 30 pounds on a strict diet for his role in The Dallas Buyers Club, a true story based on Ron Woodroof, a man who contracted the disease from drug use in the 1980s. McConaughey took on a diet filled with tiny portions of high-protein, low-carb food to get down to his target weight, Ontheredscarpet.com reported.

“I should not look healthy by the time I’m doing this,” McConaughey said on Larry King Now back in July, when he had lost 15 of the 30 pounds but was appearing buff onscreen in Magic Mike.

“It’s a bit of a spiritual cleanse, mental cleanse,” McConaughey told King. “[I'm] drinking a lot of tea … It takes a while for your body to understand that it has to feed off of itself and that you’re not going to give it something else from the outside.”

Though Matthew McConaughey is committed to his diet for the new role, the actor said he can’t wait to have a cheeseburger when it’s all done.

The Daily Mail reports that McConaughey has lost 30 pounds on a strict diet, but the weight loss isn’t for his current film, but rather for his next one. McConaughey is slated to play a man suffering from AIDS in the film The Dallas Buyers Club, which is based on Ron Woodroof, a man who contracted the disease from drug use in the 1980s.

Ontheredscarpet.com reports that McConaughey is eating minuscule portions high-protein, low-carb food to get down to his target weight but adds that he looks forward to having a cheeseburger when filming wraps up.

Camila Alves and her baby bump made an appearance over the weekend in Ibiza, Spain, with her husband Matthew McConaughey.

Alves was spotted walking around the beach in a small string bikini while McConaughey, still ever-shirtless, sipped a few cocktails. (Check out more photos of Camila Alves baby bump here.)

McConaughey announced the new baby to his fans on Twitter on July Fourth, writing:

“Happy birthday America, more good news. Camila and I are expecting our 3rd child, God bless, just keep liven.”

McConaughey and Alves got married earlier this year but they already have two children: Levi, four, and Vida, two.

Alves said:

“We’ve been living a married life for over six years now… We have homes together, we have family together, we have kids. We’ve built a life together. So we’ve been living a married life this whole time.”

Alves look as beautiful as ever with her baby bump but the star said that her third pregnancy has been a little rough.

Alves told Life & Style Magazine:

“I guess every pregnancy is different and this one is just… it’s been tough… Thank God I’m not throwing up a lot, but food isn’t really appealing right now.”

Killer Joe star Matthew McConaughey and Director William Friedkin talk about the Aurora tragedy and whether violent films played a part in it’s occurence.

While at a Cinema Society screening of the movie Killer Joe on Monday in New York, McConaughey talks to The Hollywood Reporter about his view on the subject.

“Well, it’s a lot longer answer than I can give you now, but I will just say that is, one thing that we shouldn’t be saying in society when something like that happens anymore, we shouldn’t be saying “unbelievable”. It happens, and we don’t know the answer to it right now, but there’s definitely, people now more than ever, people can make a very murky line between reality and illusion.” McConaughey continues saying, “They can make a very murky line between the games that are played and civilization, without any thought of consequences at times, and so, that’s a murky line and a dangerous line that we should consider somehow.”

Director William Friedkin also believes that violent movies had nothing to do with the tragedy at Aurora. He tells The Hollywood Reporter this,

“That’s an isolated act by a madman. They asked him what his favorite movies were. You know what he answered? Star Wars and Dumb and Dumber. Now which one of those do you think caused him to go out with an automatic weapon and off a bunch of people? This guy was into Star Wars and Dumb and Dumber.”

In fact, Friedkin doesn’t even believe Holmes’ insane mutterings to the police, he just believes that was just a cop-out.

“He was not insane. He premeditated that. He bought 6000 rounds of ammunition, he was eligible to buy guns and ammo, he set it up, he booby-trapped his room; there’s no insanity, other than to say anyone that kills someone in cold blood is insane at the moment. He should go to the gas chamber. This was premeditated. This wasn’t the work of an insane guy. And what he’s doing now, I believe, is feigning insanity, because I don’t think he wants to meet his maker at this point in his life.”

In my opinion, when it comes to acts of violence , violent movies are not the cause…it’s the violent minds and twisted motives that result in these horrible tragedies.

Once the king of nearly indistinguishable romantic comedies, actor Matthew McConaughey is enjoying a career resurgence.

He wasn’t exactly taken seriously anymore in Hollywood so, as Austin360.com reports, he started saying no. No to boring, easy scripts. Well, mostly no. He could always fall back on what had worked before.

“”Let me hold out and keep an eye open and pursue some other things that I’m interested in,” McConaughey told Austin360.com. “And if I don’t get those things, let me just hold off on these other things for a while.”

The Silicon Valley Mercury News reported that his romantic comedies were doing just fine commercially, with each one taking in more than $100 million.

Still his roles in “Bernie” and “Mud” and “Magic Mike” and “Killer Joe” have given him a chance to flex his acting muscles instead of just his washboard abs.

“I’m having a lot of fun,” McConaughey told the Mercury News. “There are no shackles.”

McConaughey recently married his girlfriend, Camila Alves, adding to an exciting year. On top of that, the couple already has two children and they are expecting a third.

McConaughey, for his part, thinks there’s no real secret to his success.

“If you put yourself in the right place, I believe you attract what you should be getting,” McConaughey told Austin360.com. “You can’t put a science behind it. And I’m not too hoity-toity or hippy-dippy about that (expletive), but I mean, that’s what happened. … Then these things I attracted, I thought that all the characters were very arresting. I felt they didn’t pander or placate. They were roles that kind of scared me a little bit.”

Matthew McConaughey shared some big news over the holiday. The actor and his new wife Camila Alves are expecting their third child together.

Alves and McConaughey both took to Twitter to share the news.

Alves wrote:

The NY Daily News reports that McConaughey and Alves are already parents to two children, Vida, 2, and Levi, 4.

The baby news comes just a month after The Magic Mike actor and Alves got married. The couple has been together for more than six years but were only married last month.

Alves said that she was happy to get married but wasn’t sure if it would change much about their relationship.

Alves:

Matthew McConaughey and his longtime girlfriend tied the knot on Saturday. The longtime couple already have two children wed together and in Texas where they apparently had some sort of “high-end” camping theme which seems fitting for the location.

Revealing details about the wedding one guest told Us Weekly

“There was a moment when (Matthew) leaned down and whispered something in (Camila’s) ear and you could see a tear coming down her face.”

The guest adds:

“Everyone let out a collective sigh.”

While the wedding featured a camping theme with “state of the art tents” it wasn’t all that outdoorsy as guests still had access to the amenities they would expect at a celebrity wedding including air conditioning, showers and restrooms. As a second source reveals, “It’s very unique, high-end camping.”

Among the weddings guests were actors Woody Harrelson and Richard Linklater.

Alves and Matthew met at a bar in 2006 while in Los Angeles, since that time they have had two children, Levi, 3 and Vida, 2. Matthew McConaughey, 42, proposed to Alves this past Christmas.

McConaughey announced the couples upcoming nuptials in a tweet that read:

“Just asked Camila to marry me, #MerryChristmas.”

Not much will change for the couple, in a March 2011 edition of Esquire Magazine Alves, 30, revealed:

“We’ve been living a married life for over six years now. We have homes together, we have family together, we have kids, we’ve built a life together. So we’ve been living a married life this whole time.”

Despite previous reports, it is now rumored that actor Matthew McConaughey will marry longtime sweetheart Camila Alves in Texas this weekend.

We reported earlier that McConaughey popped the question on Christmas Day to 5-year girlfriend and mother of his two children, Camila Alves. Early reports suggested that the couple would plan an extensive wedding in Alves’ home country, Brazil. “Camila wants to get married in Brazil with her family all around,” reported Life & Style. “She misses the food and the people there, so she’s planning a big, beautiful Brazilian wedding.”

New reports seem to suggest that the 29-year-old Brazilian model and TV presenter has changed her mind, and a speedy wedding is on its way, to take place this coming weekend. Sources tell E! that the couple are tying the knot in a “weekend affair” in McConaughey’s home state of Texas.

Alves was supposed to be honored today by the Step Up Women’s Network in Beverly Hills, but is apparently going to teleconference the event so that she can stay home to make wedding preparations. The two are aiming for an intimate ceremony, having reportedly only invited about two-dozen close friends and family to there. The workers at the wedding have also signed non-disclosure agreements, but where there’s smoke there’s fire. Looks like this thing is for real.

The 42-year-old actor started dating Alves in 2006. The couple have two children together: 2-year-old daughter Vida and 4-year-old son Levi. They recently moved from L.A. to Austin, Texas. “I grew up here,” McConaughey said of the move in March. “We got children, family values, neighbors and common sense.”

This year’s 21st MMA’s were billed as an award show upgrade. A classier, broader scoped version of the usual frantic fun, in a show generally regarded as pop-goes-to-the-movies.

But, aside from a few new award categories and the dropping of others, this was a ‘something for everyone’ event – intent on ‘spreading the love’ among the contenders and preventing the near monopolization of awards wins by The Twilight Saga.

From MTV’s perspective, the business of doing ‘business’ with huge studios, agents and the movie industry as a whole, means everyone wants a shake of ‘prize tree.’ And in a year packed with strong releases MTV were clearly keen to level the playing field.

Hence the introduction of its industry “voting academy” to decide the choices in the categories, in particular, this year’s “Breakthrough Performance” award could only be voted on by that “academy.”

Of course, these changes did not result in sudden appearance of arty, left-field winners on Sunday. The not-at-all-obvious shut-out of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 as a possible choice in a number of categories – meant films such as The Hunger Games, Bridemaids, and Harry Potter:  Deathly Hallows Part 2 had a much stronger shot at winning.

Aired live from the Gibson Amphitheater at Universal City, a total of 15 awards (with some not televised) were handed out in between emceeing by Brit comedian and actor Russell Brand, new footage from the forthcoming The Dark Knight Rises introduced by Christian Bale, Christopher Nolan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and some cute prize-giving pair-ups – notably Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender, Matthew McConaughey and Channing Tatum and Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone.

Highlights:

The Hunger Games: Nominated for eight, it came away with four. “Best Female” and “Best Male” for Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson respectively. The film also picked up “Best On-Screen Transformation” for Elizabeth Banks as “Effie Trinket.” “Best Fight” was won by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson for their rumble with Alexander Ludwig.

Bridesmaids:  Also nominated for four, came away with two wins. “Best Comedic performance” and “Best Gut Wrenching Performance.”

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1:  Proving it remains a unbeatable juggernaut, BD1 took the top prize winning “Movie of the Year.” And for the fourth year in a row Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won the award for “Best Kiss” for the wedding scene in BD Part 1.

As Pattinson is currently in Toronto promoting Cosmopolis,  Stewart accepted the award on her own saying, “God, Rob’s not here, you guys. I don’t – I don’t really know what to do”,  before attempting a solo ‘make out.’

The “Breakthrough Performance” award went to Shailene Woodley for The Descendants.

The “MTV Generation Award” was given to Johnny Depp who quipped that it was the “get-out-of-the-business award” after rocking out on stage with The Black Keys.

A new “Trailblazing” Award was given to Emma Stone star of The Amazing Spider-Man and Crazy, Stupid Love.

It was quite a night. One question though: How many awards would The Twilight Saga have won had it been shortlisted for more categories?

MTV Movie Awards 2012: Something For Everyone is a post from: The Inquisitr

Michael Haneke’s Amour claimed the ultimate prize at the Cannes Film Festival, bagging his second “Best Picture” Palme d’Or in three years and setting a new record. His first Palme awarded for The White Ribbon back in 2009.

Amour — a restrained but devastating pax de deux between an elderly couple (played by Emmanuelle Riva and Jean-Louis Trintignant) coping with the catastrophic effects of a stroke, and the love that meets it — was the consensus film of choice, with an ovation to match.

However, that was the only verdict that fell in line with critics’ predictions.

The exclusion of Leos Carax’s Holy Motors – the shape-shifting, armpit-licking, Denis Lavant starrer – elicited a shrill chorus from the many that expected it to at least place somewhere.

Robert Koehler, film critic contributor at Variety and other outlets, thundered “I won’t go as far as some colleagues in calling it the worst Cannes awards ever, but nothing for Carax’[s] Holy Motors is an outrage.”

David Fear, film critic at Time Out NY quipped, “Sorry I came home early [and] missed pitchfork/torch-carrying mob of crix storming Croisette, demanding Holy Motors satisfaction.”

The Guardian’s Peter Bradshaw tweeted “It’s the right decision at Cannes 2012, but sad for Leos Carax and Sergei Lotznitsa, unjustly passed over…”

Xan Brooks asked,”Whatever became of  [...] Leos Carax’s Holy Motors, far and away the most inventive and audacious film in competition?”

Hollywood Reporter’s take on the Carax shut out was that the film, “divided partisans and naysayers more sharply than any other film; this is not a work to inspire compromise among critics or jurors … a major prize for it would have created a small furor.”

At the press conference that followed the closing ceremony, jury president Nanni Moretti said, “None of the prizes given tonight were awarded unanimously” adding, “I noticed that some filmmakers were in love with their own style rather than with their characters.”

Moving on. Other awards handed out were not nearly as divisive, though there were still some upsets among them.

Notably, “Grand Prix” winner, Matteo Garrone’s Reality – in which a Neapolitan chancer and fishmonger (Aniello Arena) desires becoming a contestant on Big Brother, only to find his own reality altering as a result – had lurked at bottom end of critics’ polls in Cannes, but still found favor with the jury.

Carlos Reygadas’s “Best Director” win for Post Tenebras Lux, dismayed many who considered Jacques Audiard’s Rust and Bone and/or Carax’s Holy Motors more deserving contenders.

Beyond the Hills — a fact-inspired story about the exorcism of a young woman attempting to rescue a childhood friend (now a nun) from a monastery — scored big, winning “Best Screenplay” for its director Cristian Mungiu and a joint “Best Actress “Award for its leads – Cristina Flutur and Cosmina Stratan.

Many critics expected either Marion Cotillard (Rust and Bone) or Emmanuelle Riva to win for their performances. But it was not to be.

The award for “Best Actor” went to Mads Mikkelsen for his role as a primary school teacher falsely accused of sexually abusing a young girl in Thomas Vinterberg’s The Hunt. Though considered a worthy honoree, many critics expressed shock that Denis Lavant’s electrifying, 11 character turn in Leos Carax’s Holy Motors received no recognition.

More popular results saw the “The Jury Prize” awarded to Ken Loach’s The Angels’ Share.

Benh Zeitlin came away with the “Camera d’Or” for the critically acclaimed Beasts of the Southern Wild, which played in the Un Certain Regard category and won the international critics’ prize.

The “Short Film Palme d’Or” went to Reznan Yesilbas’ Sessiz-Be Deng/ Silent.

Excluding the “Camera d’Or” — awarded for Best First Film and the only award won by an American — all remaining U.S titles were left out in the cold.

These were: John Hillcoat’s prohibition thriller Lawless, Andrew Dominik’s Killing Them Softly, Walter Salles’s On the Road, Wes Anderson’s Moonrise Kingdom, Jeff Nichols’ Mud starring Matthew McConaughey and Reece Witherspoon; and Lee Daniels’ The Paperboy.

It’s worth noting many critics agreed Brad Pitt, James Gandolfini, Scoot McNairy, Paul Giamatti, Nicole Kidman, Edward Norton, Bill Murray and Matthew McConaughey, delivered impressive performances in their respective films.

Similarly, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Garrett Hedlund, all of whom featured heavily in U.S and international coverage of the festival, can certainly view their Cannes experience as a success. Both Stewart’s and Hedlund’s performances in On the Road were described by many critics as terrific.

Although some media outlets are reporting that David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, starring Robert Pattinson, Paul Giamatti, Juliet Binoche and Sarah Gadon, received lower end to mixed reviews — in fact the majority of critics praised the Don DeLillo adaptation, hailing Pattinson’s dominating performance as excellent.

With the exception of U.S director’s Benh Zeitlin’s win and ambivalently received films, The Paperboy, Mud and Lawless, the lack of festival prizes for North American titles is unlikely to hinder their appeal internationally.

Reuters reports “What the strong North American presence did do, however, was put stars on the red carpet, a key ingredient to success at a film festival which thrives not only on high-brow cinema but also on glamour, fame and celebrity buzz.”

And as Kingdom’s record breaking speciality box-office debut demonstrates, the real prize for Cosmopolis, On the Road, Moonrise Kingdom and Killing Them Softly is the priceless profile bump a Cannes Film Festival selection bestows.

Multi-award winning singer and producer Mariah Carey, has just announced on Twitter – where else – that she’s written and recorded a new song called “Mesmerized” for director Lee Daniels’s (Precious, Shadowboxer) new film, The Paperboy.

Her exact words were: “lil’ excited to share with you that I wrote a song for Lee Daniels’ new movie “The Paperboy” called Mesmerized!”

Rumored to be co-written and/or co-produced with Jermaine Dupri, this news is all kinds of incredible for a number of reasons:

1: The Paperboy is a Cannes Film Festival contender. That’s right Cannes. Serious film industry showcase for new films and not-to-be-sniffed-at prestige, European glamour fest.

2: The film stars some major thesps.  Matthew McConaughey, Nicole Kidman, Zac Efron and, if that wasn’t enough, John Cusack.

3: Now add Mariah Carey to the mix, and maybe the possibility of her “Glitteriness” hot-footing it down to the French Riveria in a few weeks when the festival starts (May16-27) – and it all starts to get fabulously surreal.

The Paperboy is based on a novel by Pete Dexter. In a nutshell, the plot involves journalist (McConaughey) and his younger brother (Efron) as they investigate the events behind the conviction of an inmate on death row.The film’s getting lots of critical buzz and apparently Kidman’s performance is sensational.

Looks as if life has suddenly got very good again for Mrs Cannon. After the scare of husband Nick Cannon’s collapse then diagnosis with autoimmune disease, lupus nephritis, in January of this year, the couple recently celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in Paris with their twins Moroccan and Monroe.

There’s no word yet on whether the world will get to hear “Mesmerized” before Cannes, but here’s hoping.

Channing Tatum is baring it all in this summer’s male strip club drama Magic Mike. Regarding his preparation for the role, Tatum’s transformation into male stripper was probably a lot like riding a bike since, in case you didn’t know, Tatum used to be an exotic dancer. His tenure in the Step Up series earns him further dancing cred, and marriage to actress, dancer, and former model Jenna Dewan has to help polish his routine, right? Wrong!

“I didn’t show him any routines, but I would definitely watch his and give my critiques and suggestions,” said Dewan, who met her husband while shooting Step Up in 2006.

She continued:

“He’s amazing. He’s a great stripper! I should ask for more [private dances].”

Magic Mike, directed by Steven Soderbergh (Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Ocean’s films) is a drama film about a male strip club called Xquisite. It stars Tatum, 21-year-old Alex Pettyfer, 42-year-old Matthew McConaughey, 35-year-old Joe Manganiello and 34-year-old Matthew Bomer. In it, veteran male stripper Magic Mike (Tatum) teaches the new kid (Pettyfer) the ropes of the trade at the club, owned by former male stripper Dallas (McConaughey).

Regarding his cast, Soderbergh said:

“It’s really fun. They are worse than women. They made sure that when they showed up, they looked amazing. They were all competitive. It was hilarious. But they looked great.”

On Christmas Day, Matthew McConaughey announced that he planned to wed girlfriend of five years and mother of his two children, 29-year-old Brazilian model and TV presenter Camila Alves.

Alves and McConaughey, 44, are parents to 3-year-old Levi and 1-year-old Vida. After the Christmas proposal, McConaughey told his fans via the internet that he “just asked Camila to marry [him.] Merry Christmas.”

While the couple languished in dating land for a few years, it appears that just a week and a half after the proposal, wedding planning could be well underway. An unnamed source told Life & Style that the pair planned to wed in Brazil, perhaps lavishly:

“Camila wants to get married in Brazil with her family all around. She misses the food and the people there, so she’s planning a big, beautiful Brazilian wedding.”

The friend also indicated that Alves has been eager for McConaughey to pop the question, saying:

“She’s been asking Mateo to put a ring on it forever. She’s so happy. It’s like a dream!”

The progression of events seems to mirror McConaughey’s roles- in which he is almost always cast as a romantic-comedy heartbreaker and commitmentphobe- but in March, the actor spoke of permanence and making a home in the men’s magazine Esquire. He waxed:

“Before this, I had a super home in the Hollywood Hills that I did by myself — landscaping, detailing pretty much everything. But that house was mine. And yeah, we coulda gone in there right away. Camila would have said, ‘Fine, don’t change a thing.’”

He continues:

“But I thought, I found the woman I wanna do it with, the woman I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together. She needs to have 50 percent of that. I mean, it’s a lot easier for me to be at 100 percent. I’d always been 100 percent. It’s braver for me at 50 percent.”

No word on when the nuptials could occur.

Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend, Camila Alves, had a very special Christmas last night. The actor popped the question to the Brazilian model last night while the two, who have been dating for five years and have two children together, celebrated Christmas.

McConaughey posted the news on his Whosays account. The actor posted a picture of him and Camilia kissing in front of a Christmas tree with the message “just asked Camila to marry me. Merry Christmas.”

McConaughey fans have been expecting to hear wedding bells for a while. Last March, the actor told Esquire Magazine that he knew Camila was “the one.” He said:

“I found the woman I wanna do it with, the woman I wanna make a family with, hopefully live our life out together.”

McConaughey, 42, and Alves, 28, have been dating since 2006. They have two children together; Levi, 3, and Vida, 1. When Levi was born, the actor tole People Magazine:

“I always wanted to be a father. It just took the right woman and the right time to make it happen. [Alves] is the love of my life. Everything is right.”

Matthew McConaughey was papped this weekend out jogging with no undies, proving that whatever Justin Timberlake can do, he can do better.

What is the deal with the male hollywood stars going commando. If we saw one of the female stars going braless and swinging in the breeze this way, the world would be morally indignant, praising the need for restraint and underwear in the appropriate size with the appropriate support.

Is it because its McConaughey and we all know he is a bit of a nut job or do we definitely have such different standards?

Placenta tree! Placenta tree! Matthew McConaughey is planning on honoring both his son and tribal customs by planting son Levi’s placenta in an orchard to “bear some wonderful fruit.” (That nobody will want to eat.)

“When I was in Australia, they had a placenta tree that was on the river … and all the placentas of all that tribe, all that clan, whatever aboriginal tribe that was, all the placentas went under that one tree and it was this huge behemoth of just health and strength.”

I didn’t know that I could get shocked from the usual “Exclusive [Insert Celebrity Here] Baby Pics” until Matthew McConaughey started in on the crazy for his OK! interview along with Camila Alves.

Besides showing off for pose-y, Photoshop-y pics, Matthew let us in on what the birthing process was like (“bloody, pukey, sweaty” and “wild”) and then got down to the details on discovering that the two had had a boy:

“I said, ‘Come here, little man.’ I saw the pecker and screamed that we’d been right all along about him being a boy. Then I brought him over to her [Camila],’ Matthew said.”

“Pecker”?! Seriously?

Matthew McConaughey is a dad now, which I can only imagine thrills him to no end. He’s going to be embarking on a journey that will probably involve lots of football throwing, lookin’ sweaty, and generally being sporty. Matthew’s definitely a “guy’s guy,” and having a boy around the house sounds perfect.

Camila’s and Matthew’s baby, named Levi, was born at 6:22 p.m. yesterday (Monday) in Los Angeles, weighing in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces. A source close to the two told PEOPLE the unsurprising news that “They’re so happy!”

“‘Drunk?’ he told us via e-mail. ‘Absolutely. Nicaragua is a beautiful place, epic waves, the best surfing I have ever been on. And yes, I’m STILL looking for my left flip-flop. So if anyone finds it floating around down there (it has 6:22 stitched into the side), please send it my way. There is a reward.’

Talk about rubbing it in Camila’s face. . . considering that Matthew may have also been trying to hit on anything in a skirt. I think that his missing flip-flop will be the least of his worries!
