Although former power couple Jennifer Lopez and husband Marc Anthony are in the middle of a split, the pair have a reason besides their twins Max and Emme to spend a bit of time together.

Before their separation, the pair decided to work on a new, Idol-like concept- a show called Q’Viva that is all about Latin culture. Then came their separation, and the ensuing tabloid frenzy suggesting that Anthony was involved with Jada Pinkett Smith, and the pics of Lopez and backup dancer Casper Smart, and Q’Viva kind of got buried in the pre-split news about the couple.

But while many couples in the midst of a divorce would be reticent to sit down together and give and interview, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony spoke to Entertainment Weekly about their baby- the TV one, Q’Viva. (Which kind of sounds like Qdoba, which makes me want to go to Chipotle.) Q’Viva premieres tonight on Univision, a Spanish language channel, and the pair had a bit to tell the magazine about what viewers can expect.

On the differences between Q’Viva and Idol, Lopez says:

I don’t know that there is another show like this. There’s no winner. This is about creating a live visual experience about Latin culture, rhythm, dance — the likes of which have never been seen. So there is no show to compare it to. We’re casting a show, and you’re on the journey with us.

Anthony adds:

It’s a callback — the only thing is that we’re rolling cameras on it. This is very, very serious business.

Lopez also says Q’Viva is a bit more hands on than Idol:

We went to these countries and we ate the food, walked the streets, and came upon people we didn’t know we were going to meet. Some people we knew we were going to meet that we saw on video. But some people ran up to the car and were like, “Can I audition?” And I was like, “Okay.” And they were amazing.

Anthony described a competition with some moments that were a bit more ‘real’ than his experiences with aspiring talent in the US:

I met this extraordinary dance troupe from Mexico City that did a little bit of everything, they were street performers, and there was one who I kept wondering, Why isn’t he performing? And they said, “He can’t because he doesn’t know who he is.” He had no identity, no name. They left him in a park when he was young. I was not ready for that. But the world needs to know about this talent.

But – and where J.Lo is concerned, it’s a big but – it may not be so final. Star reports that ‘a source close to the couple’ are attempting to patch things up for the sake of their twins, Emme and Max.

This fresh speculation follows an incident over the weekend in which Lopez broke down on stage while performing what she called “the last song [she] wrote about love.” Straight after her emotional outburst, Star writes that Lopez attended an event she was booked for many months ago, only to bump into Anthony at said event.

This, says the site, gave the couple time to talk over their marriage for the first time since they announced their split on July 15th. Since then, the pair have simply not been around one another due to various career commitments.

Star‘s anonymous source states:

“Jennifer does not want to get divorced and it willing to patch things up. But Marc has a lot of changing to do in order to win her back.”

While that statement seems to suggest Marc Anthony was unfaithful, nobody outside of the couple seems to know the truth. Indeed, early rumors suggested it was Lopez’s infidelity that led to the split.

Hangover hottie Bradley Cooper was spotted out on what appeared to be a date with recently single American Idol host and pop star Jennifer Lopez.

Cooper, 37, and Lopez, 42, met up Saturday night at New York City’s fancy Per Se. And while the couple might have chosen a less high-profile locale if they were thinking of linking up romantically, sources reported the dinner date was actually less of a “date”- the two reportedly hooked up to discuss a project.

Lopez and soon-to-be-ex Marc Anthony publicly called it quits in July, and since then, Anthony has been pegged as a possible interloper in the Will Smith/Jada Pinkett household, though everyone involved denied the rumors. In the past, Cooper has been linked with Charlize Theron and Olivia Wilde- but he says he wasn’t always a hit with the womenfolk.

In a recent GQ interview, Cooper downplays his sex symbol status, but when asked why he was less confident as a younger man, the star blamed “feminine” features:

“… my mother was Italian and I had blond hair and blue eyes, not brown hair and brown eyes. I was pretty as a child and I felt that wasn’t particularly manly and that plagued me for years. I didn’t have that rough-and-tumble upbringing. My uncles and cousins were all cops and firemen while I was taking cello lessons.

“I wasn’t good looking, but pretty in the wrong ways, in my mind I looked like a girl.”

Cooper was quick to add that his looks do not, in his opinion, contribute to his success:

“In terms of my relationship to the business and the roles I go after, nothing is based on my looks at all. If I took my shirt off you wouldn’t want to photograph it.”

No word on what the possible project involving Cooper and Lopez could possibly be.

Despite a slight q-rating boost from rumors stars Jada Pinkett Smith and Marc Anthony were getting hot and heavy between takes, the TNT drama Hawthorne- helmed by Will Smith’s missus- won’t be returning to air after this season.

Pinkett Smith made a web statement today, expressing sadness that the show had been axed but promising fans new projects would be on the horizon. She said:

Hey everyone…if you don’t know Hawthorne will not be returning for another season. I want to say thank you to all the fans for being Hawthorne soldiers. All our facebook fans…twitter soldiers and viewers…you held us down. Of course you know there is more to come…believe it!

TNT confirmed the cancellation a short time later, in a statement that sounds a bit like when reps comment on breakups. The network said:

“TNT has decided not to order a fourth season of HawthoRNe. TNT truly appreciates the tremendous dedication of everyone involved in HawthoRNe. The series gave TNT the opportunity to work with many outstanding people, including Jada Pinkett Smith and the rest of the show’s talented cast, crew, producers and writers. We wish everyone involved with HawthoRNe nothing but the best.”

It’s a bit early to say what’s next for Pinkett Smith after the cancellation of Hawthorne, although the actress is slated to reprise her voice role as the hippopotamus Gloria in the third installment of the popular Madagascar series of animated films. Madagascar 3 is due out in 2012.

As for her relationship with Smith, the pair made a statement last month after the rumors became particularly intense regarding an impending breakup. The Smiths say their relationship is “intact,” and that the rumors were “completely false.”

Hollywood power couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith have been the subject of a nasty spate of breakup rumors this week, although the couple has steadfastly refused to acknowledge the claims of various divorce related scenarios impending.

Together for a decade and a half and raising three kids together, Will and Jada are one of the most prolific and seemingly rock solid couples in Tinseltown. The pair are known for their outspoken commitment to their relationship, so when the buzz began circulating that the two were having the kind of difficulties that lead to mediators and high-priced lawyers, gossip column readers were shocked that the couple could be on the outs.

But you know who might not be buying the separation rumors? Will and Jada. The pair were photographed out on a brunch and shopping jaunt earlier this week in Los Angeles, with onlookers and paparazzi documenting their every move for later analysis. Perhaps trouble is brewing behind the scenes, but the two did not appear to have even subtle resentment toward one another when they were spotted Wednesday morning out shopping and eating.

Rumors have swirled around the couple that the Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony split is linked to trouble in Will and Jada’s relationship. Jada and the soon-to-be ex-Mr. Lopez have been working together on a medical drama for TNT called Hawthorne, and unnamed sources on set have accused the two of having “chemistry.” InTouch Weekly also claimed Smith discovered the Mrs. visiting with Anthony at one of their homes, allegedly causing the current rift between the action star and Pinkett-Smith.

However, it is worth noting that even if the “affair” rumors are true, it may all be kosher in the Pinkett-Smith household. Will once said during an interview:

“Our perspective is, you don’t avoid what’s natural… You’re going to be attracted to people. In our marriage vows, we didn’t say ‘forsaking all others.’ The vow that we made was that you will never hear that I did something after the fact.”

In addition to spending time out shopping and brunching together, the couple formally denied the breakup rumors earlier this week.

Earlier this week, rumors began to circulate that one of Hollywood’s strongest power couples- Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith- were on the rocks.

On one hand, the rumor is almost too salacious to ring true- would either Anthony or Pinkett Smith take such a massive risk, knowing how big of a target both couples are for paparazzi? On the other hand, it’s interesting that InTouch is standing by their version of events knowing that Smith and his wife could definitely afford high-priced attorneys to battle a spurious claim.

According to another site, InTouch‘s upcoming issue details the series of alleged events that includes Smith’s discovery of the affair:

It alleges that Will Smith, “under the cover of darkness,” made a surprise visit to one of their houses in early August and found his wife with Marc… Will reportedly left in tears after making the discovery, even though he once said he and Jada had an open marriage.

Jada, 39, reportedly moved out of the house the next day, and Will fired several staff, accusing them of covering up the affair.

A source that spilled to the magazine says that those on-set for Pinkett-Smith’s new medical drama on TNT, Hawthorne, said the “chemistry” between Jada and Marc Anthony created buzz- and the piece points out that Anthony’s original bit part has escalated into a long-term role as well as a gig as the show’s musical producer.

One of the more rock-solid couples prominent in Hollywood is Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett, whose 14-year-long relationship has lapped the far shorter marriages of many of their contemporaries.

Indeed, both Smith and Pinkett-Smith have gone on record saying divorce will never be on the table in their house. Back in 2008, Smith told Ellen DeGeneres that the pair were dedicated to making their marriage work:

However, buzz is circulating that the couple is now calling it quits. On the Red Carpet says that Smith and Pinkett-Smith were last photographed together on a family vacation in late July, and that Will was snapped out in Miami partying recently… without his wedding ring.

Sources close to the couple are denying that the pair have split, but rep for Pinkett-Smith Karynne Tencer, interestingly, said that the actress had “nothing to say right now” about the rumors- while pointedly denying her client had been involved with Marc Anthony. Smith and Pinkett-Smith have two children, Willow and Jaden, and Smith has a son from a previous relationship.

The Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony split that came just weeks after the two danced up a storm during an American Idol appearance together has been blamed on a multitude of things, including rumored infidelities involving both Lopez and Anthony and now, a rift over Scientology.

Scientology is a somewhat popular ‘religion’ among celebrities, but it has far more detractors in general than adherents due to many controversial beliefs and practices within the organization some call a cult. Lopez has at least expressed sympathy to Scientology in previous interviews, saying she wished “that people wouldn’t judge [Scientology] without knowing what it is.”

Lopez, raised a Catholic, has never confirmed a connection to Scientology in the media and has not publicly embraced the religion like high-profile celebrities Tom Cruise and John Travolta. Still, she’s been linked with it for the past few years, and church leaders in Scientology are known to recruit high on the Hollywood food chain to win the expensive religion moneymaking converts.

The latest rumors about the Jennifer Lopez/Marc Anthony split are that a rift over whether or not a Scientology school was appropriate for the couple’s twins Max and Emma caused the fallout that drove the pair to divorce. An unnamed source has been quoted on the alleged Scientology rift:

“Jennifer and Marc couldn’t see eye-to-eye on the subject. She’s always been more into the church than him. He wasn’t a huge fan and it caused problems.”

In the past, Jennifer has said she “wouldn’t mind” the controversial church educating her children.

Jennifer Lopez could be back on American Idol for at least one more season, if sources cited by the Wall Street Journal about the star’s return are correct regarding the direction of negotiations.

It’s rumored that Lopez is holding out for top Idol judge Simon Cowell’s higher level of compensation, which would bring her hourly rate on the show up over $600K. Flak for Lopez declined comment on the ongoing negotiations, and the production company for American Idol vaguely acknowledged the wrangling:

Cécile Frot-Coutaz, chief executive officer at FremantleMedia North America, which produces “American Idol,” declined to comment on the negotiations. But she said, “We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”

Lopez is currently pitching a Latin version of Idol called ¡Q’viva! The Chosen with newly-minted third ex-husband Marc Anthony as their divorce moves forward. A spokesperson for XIX Entertainment, the company of pop svengali Simon Fuller- who is producing the show with Lopez and Anthony- says the development of the show will continue despite the disintegration of Lopez and Anthony’s relationship.

On Friday we reported that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are getting a divorce and now rumors have begun circulating that the split was initiated after J. Lo began cheating on her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Celebrity site Bossip says that “word on the Latino streets” is that she was having an affair with telenovela star William Levy who also starred in her music video “I’m Into You” which features some steamy embraces between the pair. The column also notes that Levy also recently left his wife, although it’s believed he cheated on his wife with at least three dozen women which may make the Lopez association nothing more than bad timing.

While the couple may be going their separate ways they are still working on the American Idol Latin America spin-off titled Q’Viva: The Chosen which was created by American Idol creator Simon Fuller.

There’s the chance Anthony also knew about the affair Lopez is alleged to have had, sources say he was flirting with female audience members at a Colombia concert on Saturday night which seems like a guy who may be trying to get back at the lady he’s divorcing.

The couple’s reps are not commenting on the divorce and the circumstances surrounding it and at this time it’s all a bunch of rumors but when it comes to Hollywood stars nothing really surprises us anymore.

In addition to parenting 3-year-old fraternal twins – Max and Emme – together, the couple embarked on numerous professional partnerships as well, from singing duets and starring in the same film to fashion lines at Kohl’s department store.

The divorce marks the second for Anthony and third for Lopez, who prior to tying the knot with Marc, had a series of high-profile relationships – Sean “P.Diddy” Combs, Ben Affleck, and Cris Judd just to name a few.

The couple ended their statement on Friday by revealing that it was a “painful time for all involved,” and requesting that their privacy be respected.

Star‘s second source told the magazine that he “can be really mean. He’s a macho guy with a horrible temper and can say awful things.” It sounds like Marc’s creating more drama in the relationship by commenting on Jennifer’s “chubby” body after she had twins last year. Mean, mean, mean!
