A couple walking their 9 dogs in the park up by the Hollywood sign made a grisly discovery early this morning, a severed human head.

The couple let their dogs off the leashes for a run and they saw two of the dogs playing with a plastic bag.  As they played with it the contents spilled out and it turned out to be a male head, described by police as being “fairly fresh”

Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman Karen Rayner said,

“Two dogs were playing with it, and that’s when the dog walkers looked closer and realized it was a human head.”

The police spent the rest of the day with police dogs and officers scouring the area looking for other body parts, but none were found.  They are currently checking their records to see if there were any reports of a missing man in the area.

Residents should probably be on the lookout for the rest of the body parts as they have to be somewhere.

Seriously?  The video below was taken on board a Los Angeles bus.  It shows a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Deputy getting into a verbal confrontation with a woman and when she tries to walk past him he punches her in the face.

There was more than one witness to the altercation but there was one man who was brave enough to video tape the incident.  Jermaine Green, who taped the incident on his cellphone, said that after the cop punched the woman in the face he came up to Green and told him to give up his cell phone or face arrest.

Green told NBC-LA,

“He said to me look you could be under arrest if you don’t give me that video, do you have any warrants?”

Green told the story of the woman who got on the bus with a shopping cart filled with pillows.  At the next stop the two sheriff’s deputies got on and tried to remove the woman and they got into a verbal confrontation.  Greene said it was obvious the woman had “special needs”.  At one point the woman tries to move past the cop and he throws a right hook at her face, smashing her off balance.

The tape ends with her being restrained on a seat.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office said the woman was restrained because she had acted aggressively towards the officer.

The woman has previous arrests for assault and assault on a police officer.

Police are looking for any clues as to who is setting the fires, some of which have spread to nearby homes and apartments.  Luckily, no one has been injured yet in the fires.

Police are currently offering a reward of $35,000 for any information leading to the arrest of the arsonist, who has the entire city on edge.  Police are currently pouring through thousands of leads and reviewing thousands of video camera tapes to help determine who could be responsible.

Local residents are trying to make sense of the fires and trying to figure out if there is anyway they can protect their own vehicles.  Some resident who observed the burning cars said it looked like the arsonist was looking for cars that were parked close together so as to cause maximum damage to surrounding cars.

Police are not as yet willing to concede that it is just one serial arsonist.  There are some theories that this could be a group or even a series of copycats.

The only announcement that police have made is that they are interested in talking to a man who drives a mid 1990′s Lexus, but offered to further details or descriptions.

Police have not yet gotten an estimate for the monetary value of the fires.

Holiday travelers at LAX were greeted to a new type of performance by Sean Penn and Cuban actress Maria Conchita Alonso.  The two were were once co-stars but they had a bit of a break up at LAX airport, with Alonso screaming at Penn that he was a “communist asshole” after he called her a “pig”.

It seems fate had the two meet at LAX, in Los Angeles, California.  Alonzo, who had been born in Cuba and raised in Venezuela, saw Penn trying to find a piece of lost luggage.

Alonso had, in the past, written a very public letter to Penn to call him out for his support of Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez.

Fox News is reporting that the conversation was overheard to go like this.  Alonso said, “I was very calm. I said, ‘I would like to talk to you.’ He said, ‘I have nothing to say to you … You have been saying a lot of things about me in the press.’ I said, ‘How can you defend Chavez?’”

Alonso than started getting heated and the argument escalated to the point where she said “‘You are a communist, Sean Penn”.

Penn screamed and said, “You are a pig!”

So Alonso replied “And you are a communist asshole! Is it great to live the way you do as a communist?’” Nearly 60 people were watching and were quite shocked to see the melee.

The two had been co-stars in the 1988 film Colors.

After a two year long court battle, Dodgers and Dodgers Stadium owner Frank McCourt has agreed to sell off the team and its related bits, according to a joint statement from McCourt and Major League Baseball issued late Tuesday night.

The news came at 8:30 pm PST, roughly, which is 11:30 pm on the East Coast. In its entirety, the statement read:

“The Los Angeles Dodgers and Major League Baseball announced that they have agreed today to a court-supervised process to sell the team and its attendant media rights in a manner designed to realize maximum value for the Dodgers and their owner, Frank McCourt. The Blackstone Group LP will manage the sale process.”

The decision caps off a tumultuous two years for the team and marks the third time it will change hands since it was sold to News Corp by owner Peter O’Malley in 1998, whose family had moved the team from Brooklyn back in 1958. When buzz began that a settlement was imminent, Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw commented to press about the impending resolution. He said:

“That’s positive… Whatever happens, it’s definitely great to have it all resolved.”

The Los Angeles Times notes that the sale includes the team itself, Dodger Stadium and its parking lots, all purchased for $421 million in 2004 by McCourt. It’s estimated that the entire package will now fetch two to three times that price, but the paper also speculates that factoring in all McCourt’s financial considerations, the final sale price may need to come in at around $1 billion. MLB hopes to have a new owner in place by the start of next season.

Diddy does not know the meaning of stop while you’re ahead. He now claims in his newest YouTube response to the “jet controversy” that he owns a “wing” of a plane registered under another name. How he has so much time puzzles me, as well as the fact that he still reads too much of his own press.

I agree with E!. Diddy needs to step away from the computer and take a breather. The video is here, but if you can’t stomach it, don’t worry– it’s not an “official Diddy blog.”

After hanging out with fans and giving them some love, lanky Justin Long has moved on. According to recent buzz, he met his current flame Kirsten Dunst at Sunset Junction in L.A. when the sun went down last weekend. Rush & Molloy reported that one of the waitresses saw them “all over each other” and “making out hard-core while waiting in line for margaritas.”

Maybe Justin Long was only sexy when he had Drew Barrymore by his side, ’cause I’m not really feeling it anymore. Maybe it has something to do with this very gross photo of him with Kirsten Dunst, and the thought of them PDA-ing all over the place. I keep picturing Kirsten dressed like this, which is so not helping.
