Modern Warfare 3 is the hot to have game these days, well maybe with the exception of Skyrim, and of course LEGO is the go to fun level for geeks of all ages; but what happens when you decide to mix the two?

Well you get this awesome atop-action video from a YouTuber by the name of Kooberz where the various intros to Modern Warfare 3 are acted out using nothing more than LEGO pieces.

For those of you interested in the technical details you can check out the behind the scenes video on YouTube but suffice to say it was done with a Canon Digital Rebel XTi DSLR with the animations handled by iStopmotion at 24 frames per second.

So without any further ado here is the LEGO version of Modern Warfare 3 for your viewing pleasure.

You never know what you’ll find on a beach in Florida. Oil from BP, whale carcasses, sea shells, a giant Lego man… Ego Leonard, an enormous Lego man who stands about 8 feet tall was found in Siesta Key, Florida today.

But how did he get there? Well, one quick Google search of “Ego Leonard” will land you on this page, where the giant Lego man explains:

“My name is Ego Leonard and according to you I come from the virtual world. A world that for me represents happiness, solidarity, all green and blossoming, with no rules or limitations. Lately however, my world has been flooded with fortune-hunters and people drunk with power. And many new encounters in the virtual world have triggered my curiosity about your way of life. I am here to discover and learn about your world and thoughts.”

The Lego man in Florida had his name written on the back of his plastic shirt above the number 8. On the front, the phrase “no real than you are.” Ego Leonard’s website shows that there are more Lego men just like him circumnavigating the globe in order to learn about our world and thoughts.

This isn’t the first time a giant Lego man has washed up on shore. In 2007, a similar (possibly the same) Lego man washed up in the Netherlands.

The space shuttle program may have sadly come to an end late last month after several decades, but three wee astronauts are slated to go where no man or toy has gone before.

Three unique white Lego men- cast in the images of the Roman god Jupiter, his wife Juno, and Galileo Galilei- headed into space today on NASA’s Juno spacecraft. The mission will be orbiting the fifth planet in our solar system, looking for water in the gassy giant’s atmosphere and seeking out clues to Jupiter’s origins and history.

It’s not the first space rodeo for the Lego figures headed to Jupiter- Jupiter, Juno and Galileo have hitched rides on voyages to the International Space Station, a mission to Mars and a shuttle launch. The tie-in is also not merely a promotional initiative- and besides, could Lego be any cooler?- but a part of the Bricks in Space program.

Bricks in Space is a joint Lego/NASA initiative to get kids interested in and thinking about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. (And while it most certainly works, it probably also gets kids interested in launching Lego men off things, a pastime nine-year-old boys seem to take to readily.) Scott Bolton, principal investigator for the Juno mission and space science and engineering director at the Southwestern Research Institute in San Antonio, spoke about the Lego/NASA Jupiter mission at a press conference earlier this week. He said:

“NASA has a long-standing partnership with the LEGO company… Any of you that have children know that LEGOs are very popular with kids, as well as really helps teach them about building and engineering.”

Bolton continued:

“We hope that that [these LEGO Minifigures] will increase awareness of children about the space program and get them interested. This will also help them understand both the mythological studies that went on… and also the contributions that Galileo made.”

Juno and friends take off today from the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, and are expected to arrive near Jupiter in July of 2016. The Lego minifigs will orbit Jupiter for a year (33 revolutions), before meeting a fiery end in an intentional crash- no eBayed space Lego for you! And that’s too bad, because, says Bolton, these aren’t just any Lego:

“They are basically the size of the normal LEGO figures which you will see, but they are made out of aluminum, very special aluminum and they have been prepared in a very special way,” Bolton said. “They are made out of a special space-grade aluminum. They have gone through all the testing to make sure that they fit on our spacecraft in a way that is like our other science instruments… They are all together, right next to each other [on board Juno], being friendly,” Bolton said smiling. “They are the special passengers.”

The Juno figurine is equipped with a magnifying glass, Jupiter has a lightning bolt, and Galileo is equipped with a telescope. You can read the full press release about the Lego figures going to Jupiter here.

I can not believe some of the things that people do with LEGO. As a kid I was lucky enough if I could put together a freaking brick house without it falling apart.

Then there is MarshallBanana who took 9 months and put together an incredible mini-fig scale version of the Star Wars Sandcrawler with a working ramp, working crane, interior lighting all in three decks. Oh and yes it moves by remote control.

Remember the wearable Master Chief helmet some dude made out of LEGO? Six months later, and the next logical step has occurred: the helmet has now become a full-on Master Chief suit.

Creator Ben Caulkins spent around six months building this suit of armor – supposedly, the torso plate was the trickiest part to complete. In the end, he had to use glue to hold the thing together. THEN GLUED HIMSELF IN FOR GOOD. Not really, though that’s what I’d have done. Deliberately.

What you are seeing is one of the most detailed Lego models of a correctly attributed scaled down Sand Crawler from Star Wars. Not only is it made out of Legos but it’s also motorized, and detail isn’t limited to the outside but equal care to detail was taken with the inside as well.

LEGO and Halo enthusiast Ben Caulkins combined his two loves to make this stunning Master Chief helmet from little Danish bricks. It’s even freaking wearable, unless like me your head is stupidly huge and lumpy, like a defective loaf of bread.

Whether it would stand up to a headshot from a fully functional LEGO sniper rifle is another matter entirely.

Impossible-to-pronounce Swedish band Rymdreglage don’t do things by halves. For their third single, ’8-bit Trip’, the musical duo decided to create a tribute to retro gaming, in the form of a stop motion music video made entirely of LEGO. It’s been done before, I hear.

Anyway, it’s totally mental. This took over 1,500 hours to finish, and references an impressive array of characters and games, from Pong to Mario to Pac-Man to Yoshi to Mega Man. It also gets credibility points for its nod to International Karate+ from the Commodore 64.

Not a huge fan of the music myself, but this shows some serious patience:

Jack Streat isn’t a man who does things by halves. So when he sat down to recreate a Lee Enfield sniper rifle out of LEGO Technics, he didn’t just build a static replica – he built a fully functional model. Damn.

Okay, “fully functioning” is stretching things a bit. I mean, the thing only p-toos LEGO bricks about five feet, so it’s not going to wake your cat, let alone take down big game. But it is some engineering feat, and even boasts a working bolt-action mechanism and removable clips. Here’s a neat video of Streat taking down terrorist LEGO bricks around his house:

This tabletop Pac-Man arcade cabinet is constructed entirely out of LEGO blocks (the electronics aside), which by my estimation makes it roughly 643 times as awesome as the real thing.

This even plays a bunch of stone-cold ’80s arcade classics, thanks to a built-in Jamma 48-1 board. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Space Invaders, Frogger, Galaga, and more are on the menu. “No LEGO pieces were cut or altered to make this,” notes its creator here.
