Britney Spears shows off her new trimmed bikini body in June’s Shape Magazine, and, in celebration of that big reveal, the pop superstar has also announced her first Las Vegas shows.

Britney is busily working on a new LP with Will.i.Am and finishing up her work on the X Factor at which point she’ll “settle down” in Las Vegas.

Speaking to Shape Britney Spears revealed plans for this Fall’s highly anticipated shows in Las Vegas.

According to Spears:

“The [Vegas] performances won’t be simple. They’ll be a massive party from start to finish. And to pull this off, I have to be in top condition and running at full speed.”

While Britney went through a period where she kept on the baby weight the new Shape Magazine cover showcases Spears as fit as ever. The songstress says of her workout routine:

“I’m doing 90 minutes of yoga twice a week in addition to a lot of cardio — hour-long sessions three times a week with my trainer, Tony Martinez.”

With wavy hair and a strappy white bikini, Spears flashes a big rejuvenated smile to her fans as she shows off her touched up bod for the world to see.

So how exactly has Britney Spears managed to bring back her hotness? She credits cutting back on cookies and using the food-program Nutrisystem. Spears is also jamming out at the gym with the help of Whitney Houston and Bruno Mars.

While Britney Spears may be setting down roots in Las Vegas, it is hardly her first time performing in Sin City. Spears made a stop in Vegas during her Femme Fatale tour in 2011.

Britney Spears is also preparing to release her eighth album with help from super producer Will.i.Am.

A small group of Las Vegas cabbies were arrested following a protest outside of an area convention center.

Authorities stated that 14 cab drivers were taken into custody near the Las Vegas Convention Center on Tuesday.

The Vegas cabbies were arrested while protesting outside of the National Association of Broadcasters convention. Officers said that 12 people were taken in for failing to obey traffic signals, one for walking in the middle of a roadway, and one for traffic disobedience.

The cabbies decided to protest outside of the convention center in hopes that people would take notice of their cause. The Las Vegas cab drivers said they are looking for better working conditions and a much more competitive wage.

“We’re the ambassador of the city, as they call us, because we’re the first ones to greet the conventioneers and the tourists. How come nobody is hearing us right now? So we need to raise our voices and let the people hear us,” Ermias Aboye told FOX5.

Union officials explained that the 400 Vegas cabbies were not breaking the law when the arrests occurred. Many of those in attendance used bullhorns and various noise makers to get the attention of those attending the National Association of Broadcasters convention.

Metro Captain Todd Fasulo said the majority of the protesters were not obeying traffic signals at crosswalks. He said some people would walk into the middle of traffic in an effort to get the attention of drivers.

“What they specifically do is when they go to cross the street, they will wait, and the light will turn red, and then they still go out into the street in an attempt to stand in front of certain vehicles and conduct their protest,” Fasulo explained.

No arrests were made at the convention center on Wednesday. The drivers said they did not intend to continue their protest at this location on Thursday.

Drivers at Yellow Checker Star Transportation have been on strike for several weeks. Many were very upset when officials from United Steelworkers Union approved the current contract without putting it to a member vote. Many employees plan to strike until a new deal is reached.

Vegas Cabbies Arrested Following Protest At Convention Center is a post from: The Inquisitr

Las Vegas, NV – A car that crashed into a busy restaurant left at least 10 people seriously injured.

The vehicle reportedly crashed through the front window of Egg & I restaurant on Monday. The incident happened during the lunch rush. Ten people were injured during the accident.

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue spokesman Tim Szymanski said that several people were trapped beneath the car after it crashed into the restaurant. The driver was later arrested by police.

Witnesses said both the person behind the wheel of the vehicle and the passenger attempted to flee the scene of the crime.

The driver allegedly tried to dispose of drugs he had at the time. However, several people caught up with the man and prevented him from getting away.

Suziliene McDonald was inside the restaurant with her sisters when the accident took place. She said she screamed when she saw the vehicle heading towards the window.

“The motor was still revving and the dust came right after it, just like in the movies,” the witness explained.

Several people were wounded when the car crashed into the Las Vegas restaurant on Monday. McDonald said that two girls appeared to have been hit with flying glass during the incident. Another woman suffered a broken leg as a result of the incident.

Witnesses said a woman was trapped beneath the car as it balanced on a patio chair. Her son was reportedly crouched under the vehicle with her at the time. A restaurant employee is said to have been thrown into the kitchen due to the force of the crash.

The driver was arrested once police arrived on the scene. Reports indicate that the passenger was not charged with any crimes. The condition of those injured is unknown as of this writing.

Las Vegas police are currently investigating the restaurant crash that wounded nearly a dozen people on Monday afternoon.

Celebrity chef Guy Fieri might consider franchising Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar, and bringing the famously maligned menu to the Las Vegas Strip.

Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar was infamous from the word “go” thanks to a scathing review from New York Times food critic Pete Wells. Still, Fieri’s fame has apparently made his Times Square restaurant enough of a success that he’s considering opening another in Las Vegas.

There’s a rumor floating around that Fieri plans to open his second restaurant at Ceasar’s Palace’s The Linq. Opening soon, Linq is described as an “open-air retail, dining and entertainment district located on the 50-yard line of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip.”

Fieri currently owns three separate chain restaurants in California: Johnny Garlic’s, Tex Wasabi’s, and Guy’s Burger Joint. Guy’s American Kitchen & Bar was his first venture outside of his home state.

A graduate of UNLV, Fieri does have ties to the Vegas scene. He also hinted recently that he would be opening a new restaurant in a major city sometime in 2013, but didn’t give any more details. Additionally, his publicist has not commented on the current rumor.

If he gets the Vegas g0-ahead, Fieri’s second restaurant would join the second location of Brooklyn Bowl, Flour & Barley, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and The Tilted Kilt. Fieri’s restaurant wasn’t included in The Linq’s press release, but his inclusion was hinted at by John Curtas on his Twitter account.

Nic Cage says his Las Vegas lifestyle is not nearly as lavish or extravagant as it was in the past.

The prolific actor is known for spending his money on a number of strange and expensive items over the years. However, the star of the animated comedy The Croods insists that his life is much more laid back these days.

“I have a simple life, and I’m a lot lighter because of it. I get up in the morning, I drive my kid to school, I go home, I work out, I take my wife to lunch, I pick my kid up from school, and that’s it,” he explained during a recent appearance on Today.

Nic Cage switched to his simple Las Vegas lifestyle after being hounded endless by photographers in Los Angeles. Instead of spending quite a bit of time dodging paparazzi, the actor decided to change directions.

“I think it’s no secret that I’ve tried to take chances in my career and also in my life and I believe to not live in fear. And I would cringe when I would have to say those lines, but that’s the character,” he explained.

Nicolas Cage is known for living a very extravagant lifestyle. In addition to his numerous film roles, the actor is also famous for the items he has procured over the years.

The actor’s success in Hollywood has allowed him to purchase a fleet of cars, a private island, and a pair of castles. Cage also reportedly bought a dinosaur skull, some unusual pets, and a haunted mansion in the heart of New Orleans.

Nic Cage has revealed quite a bit about himself over the past few weeks. The actor also said he turned down an opportunity to stare in the DreamWorks box office hit Shrek because he didn’t want to portray an ogre.

The actor didn’t make the same mistake when he was approached to star in the animation studio’s comedy The Croods. The film also features Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, and Cloris Leachman.

“What really got me about Grug is his emotional transformation from an overprotective father who is surviving but not living and then he learns how to let go and live and I like that,” Cage explained. “That’s what appealed to me most. I like a movie that can make you laugh and make you cry.

Matt Kenseth wins the Kobalt Tools 400 in Las Vegas after holding off Kasey Kahne with a little over 20 laps left in the race. Kenseth is now the third Sprint Cup driver to win on his birthday; He turned 41-years-old Sunday.

Kasey Kahne had the best car all day, but a mix-up on his last pit stop cost him a couple positions that he never fully recovered from. Matt Kenseth took advantage, playing the guessing game on fuel. Kenseth elected to stay out instead of pit to take the lead and he never gave it up.

Kyle Busch and Jimmie Johnson also had fast cars in Las Vegas, finishing fourth and sixth respectively.  Last season’s champion Brad Keselowski started from the pole and had his best run of the season, finishing in third place.

This was Matt Kenseth’s first win as a member of Joe Gibbs racing as he jumps 11 spots in the standings to seventh. Jimmie Johnson continues to hold the lead after another top-10 finish.

Kasey Kahne led 112 laps on the day, better than anyone else on the track, and even Kenseth made note of it in Victory Lane.

“I was real nervous all day, he had the best car,” Kenseth said about Kasey Kahne.

Matt Kenseth finished seventh last week after a rough start to the season at Daytona. Kenseth started 12th at Daytona before falling to the back of the pack and finishing 37th.

Carl Edwards finished fifth after winning last week in Phoenix and is now 11th in the standings. Edwards jumped 19 spots in the standings last week and picked up six more spots Sunday.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was near the front all day long, and finished seventh. Even with the top-10 finish, Earnhardt Jr. lost the second spot in the standings to Brad Keselowski.

Multiple drivers were penalized for pit road incidents during the race, including Denny Hamlin and Danica Patrick. Hamlin was penalized for entering the pits too fast and Patrick for a tire violation.

Danica Patrick finished 33rd while Denny Hamlin managed to work his way back for a modest 15th place finish. The Sprint Cup Series moves forward to Bristol Motor Speedway next week for the Food City 500.

Kyle Busch was hoping to win in his home town Sunday, but will have a great chance to take the checkered flag next week at Bristol.  Busch has won at Bristol five times during his Sprint Cup career.

Matt Kenseth stole the show from Kasey Kahne and used the don’t pit strategy to perfection. Kahne was getting a great run off the corners of one and two, and nobody thought Kenseth’s tires would hold off Kahne late.

Kenseth stuck to the high side and beat out Kahne by a few car lengths. Matt Kenseth wins the Kobalt Tools 400 by gambling with his pit strategy, the only way to do it in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas could be coming to your home computer in the very near future if the state of Nevada has its way. On Thursday, Nevada governor Brian Sandoval signed a bill into law that allows for online gambling in the state.

More importantly for people outside Nevada, the bill includes a provision that would Nevada to negotiate with other states for online gambling agreements.

Whether or not other states would be all that receptive to such an agreement is still somewhat up in the air. New Jersey’s Chris Christie recently weighed in on online gambling and he said he wasn’t prepared to support it just yet.

Online gambling is becoming big business for companies outside the United States. Facebook recently got in on the action with their UK site. In the United Kingdom, the social networking site will allow you to play their built in card games while wagering real money.

The Las Vegas Sun reports that Governor Sandoval considered passing an online gambling bill the top priority of his administration this year. He touched on the subject in his state of the state address and the Nevada legislature needed just seven hours to pass the bill once they began work on it.

Tech Crunch reports that one of the reasons Nevada rushed through the online gambling provision to beat New Jersey to the punch.

While Christie did veto the Garden State’s latest online gambling initiative, he did say that he believes the state will have a law on the books covering the issue by the end of 2013.

Governor Sandoval even pointed to the friendly race to the finish line when it comes to online gambling Nevada has with New Jersey saying:

“As to our competitor, New Jersey, they should be accustomed to following Nevada,”

In what might be the oddest news to come out of Las Vegas this week, 23-year-old Kara Vandereyk was arrested on Tuesday after authorities caught said woman having sex with a pit bull in her backyard.

According to the police, Vandereyk remained undeterred by the police when she was found with the pit bull. The arrest report was released on Wednesday. Police were alerted about the lewd acts that were taking place on the 300 block of N. 16th street. It was there that officials found Vandereyk engaging in various acts of sexual dispose with the pit bull.

Not only was the woman said to be in plain view of the neighbors, but police officers reported Vandereyk appeared to be under the influence of drugs, or was mentally ill, when she stood up and greeted the officers with a nonchalant, “Hi.” Upon further investigation of the situation between the 23-year-old and the pit bull, police found that the woman couldn’t identify herself, the current date, or the name of the President of the United States.

In what’s sure to be a puzzling statement to many, the only excuse Vandereyk had for engaging in sexual acts with a pit bull was that she’s “bipolar.” The woman also admitted to taking prescription medication, but wasn’t sure of their names. It’s unknown whether or not these medications were in fact medicinal.

After Vandereyk was taken into custody by the police, and charged with open and gross lewdness, Animal  Control arrived and took the pit bull into custody as well. It’s not yet known if Kara Vandereyk is the owner of the pit bull.

How good are the pickpockets in Las Vegas? We can’t speak for all of them, but one Vegas performance thief picked the TODAY show hosts clean with a routine that made sophisticated crime look like magic.

Apollo Robbins, known as “The Gentleman Thief,” is a Vegas performer and expert pickpocket who uses courtesy to disarm a target before making off with wallet, watch, iPod, and everything else. TODAY show hosts Matt Lauer, Willie Geist, and guest-host Ryan Seacrest demonstrated that even safe-zones like the front trouser or jacket pocket aren’t sacred to a sticky-fingered pickpocket who knows his way around one’s personal space.

Lauer, Geist, and Seacrest started the routine nervously standing far away from Apollo, who decided to demonstrate his “theatrical pickpocketing” skills by offering the three hosts an item of his own to hang onto. To Lauer, he gave his own personal wallet. To Geist, a $100 bill. Lastly, he handed Seacrest a pen.

While approaching the three hosts to hand them his items, he demonstrated some impressive sleight of hand that not even a slow-motion replay would have caught. After breaching the personal space of all three hosts, he asked them to check their pockets for the items he handed them.

They discovered that not only did Robbins make off successfully with the items he handed them, but a few more of their own personal items in the process. To Geist, he handed back identification and credit cards, as well as his watch which he was attempting to guard closely.

The most impressive act was demonstrated with Lauer, who wound up holding the pen Seacrest was given, with Geist’s $100 bill rolled up inside.

The iPotty was unveiled last week at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

According to TODAY, the iPotty looks like a regular plastic toilet with a removable bowl.

However, the iPotty is a regular plastic toilet with an unusual twist. It has an adjustable stand attached to it that’s fit specifically for an iPad.

The iPotty was developed by CTA Digital, which is a company that has already developed a kiddie sized iPad play table.

When the iPotty was first presented, a lot of people thought that it was a bad idea. They believed that it was just another way that society is teaching our children to rely on a constant stream of over-stimulation.

Mari-Jane Williams wrote on the Washington Post’s parenting blog:

“They can’t spend a couple of minutes in the bathroom without a video or game to keep them company? Do we really want children to grow up thinking that they can and must be engaged and entertained at all times?”

Dina Light-McNeely, a mother with a 4-year old in Dallas, Texas, said:

“Potty training is a great time to connect with your child. Why add a barrier to the mix with a piece of technology. What’s next, a robot parent?”

Still, there are parents that think that the iPotty is a good idea because keeping a child on the toilet long enough to go is a challenge in itself. If the iPotty can help keep the kids still, it could be real helpful.

According to Gizmag, there are no specific apps for the iPotty as of yet, but there are plenty of potty training apps in the Apple App store.

When not in use, the iPad stand can be removed completely.

The iPotty is compatible with the iPad 2 and the 3rd or 4th generation iPad and is scheduled to be on sale in March for the price of $40.

Britney Spears is closing in on a Las Vegas performance contract that would secure her more than $100 million per year.

According to reports, Spears is ready to pick up the pieces from her failed engagement to Jason Trawick and pick up residency in Las Vegas.

Spears is currently in negotiations with the Caesar group of properties, and snoops say her deal is worth more than Celine Dion’s.

A source close to the talks tells TMZ:

“The deal is a go. There are several stipulations that could throw a monkey wrench in the deal, but it’s basically done.”

Britney Spears and management for the Caesar group of properties are believed to be negotiating specifically what Britney would be doing. The contract could come down to whether or not Spears will just perform several times a week or if she will also make multiple weekly appearances at hotels, in nightclubs, and at pool day clubs.

How many performances per week the singer would perform and the running time for those shows has yet to be revealed.

When Celine Dion came to Caesar’s Palace, an entire coliseum was built for her performances. There is no word yet if Britney will receive the same type of treatment.

Las Vegas, NV – Thought-controlled computing firm InteraXon debuted the Muse brain sensing headband at CES 2013. This unique device wraps around your forehead and takes you through brain exercises on a screen, controlled not with a handheld or those cumbersome thumbs, but with the power of your mind.

“It’s a sleek, comfortable, four-sensor headband that allows you to control games, reduce stress, improve memory and concentration, and eventually to control devices directly with your mind,” says the description on the company website.

Using four EEG sensors, Muse measures brain activity like a heart monitor observes heart function. Your brain waves are converted into digital signals that are sent to your tablet, smartphone, or PC via Bluetooth. You can see your brain activity in real-time on the screen, and see whether or not you’re in an “active” or “relaxed” state.

Muse’s Brain Health System strengthens cognitive and emotional parts of your brain, and can help you train your mind to focus on tasks or maintain emotional composure in stressful situations.

InteraXon claims that the Muse brain sensing headband is capable of improving memory, focus, concentration, productivity, motivation, and self-control. It can reduce anxiety and stress, and help regulate negative emotions and thoughts. The real appeal to the Muse brain sensing headband is not that it helps you develop mental strength with familiar exercises, but that it gives you real-time information on your brain waves so that you can adjust and figure out what works best for you as you go.

We played with the Muse brain sensing headband for about 20 minutes, which consisted, for me, of two exercises. In one, I was shown a graphic screen with a moon on the left, and a sun on the right. I was supposed to eclipse the sun with the moon by just thinking about it, and slowly the moon inched closer to the sun until I watched a full eclipse take place. Imagine my surprise.

The next exercise showed me a graphic chart detailing my brain activity between “active” and “relaxed.” The point of this exercise was to relax my mind, and I was able to do so using audio cues through a set of speakers.

All in all, Muse’s brain sensing headband was a neat piece of tech, and certainly the only thing of its kind at CES this year. I began to wonder about practical application of this new tech. The Muse spokeswoman on site explained that the potential for this new technology is limitless, and could be used in the medical or psychological fields, by older folks trying to keep their minds sharp, by special needs students in the classroom, or for pure recreation.

Time will tell what’s to come of Muse and the brain sensing headband, but it’s hard not to root for such a unique and creative piece of tech, even if it doesn’t readily have any practical application just yet.

Sony showcased their 84″ KD-84X9005 Simulview capable TV at the 2013 CES.

SimulView gaming is a feature on the KD-84X9005 TV that  presents two separate Full HD pictures. Each player watches their own independent screen through light easy to wear glasses that don’t need batteries.

When the Simulview technology first came out, it was on a small 24″ screen. Even though two players could play a multiplayer game without actually splitting up the screen, a lot of people wanted to see the technology on a bigger scale.

In order to satisfy their customers’ requests, Sony has come out with an 84″ screen. This Simulview capable screen was amazing. I got the chance to play Gran Turismo 5 with another person at CES and we each saw our own view.

According to Playstation Lifestyle, the KD-84X9005 also has full 3D capabilities. Not only that, instead of having a resolution of 1080P, it boasts a 4K resolution.

That’s 8 million individual pixels (3,840 x 2,160).

Bill Clinton is scheduled to attend the Samsung Keynote presentation at the 2013 International CES in Las Vegas next week.

According to Mashable.com, CES announced that the Clinton will be joining the Samsung presentation at 9 am.

The Samsung presentation will be held at The Venetian’s Palazzo Ballroom and will feature Dr. Stephen Woo, president of Samsung’s device solutions business.

Woo will discuss the role of tech components needed for product innovation.

Though CES did not mention what Clinton would be doing during the Samsung presentation, he will more than likely be speaking.

The International CES conference is known for attracting celebrities and notable figures to the show.

In past years, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber made and appearance.

This year at CES, the band Maroon 5 will be making their own guest appearance at Qualcomm Inc.’s pre-show CES keynote address on Monday.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will join the SMS Audio booth on Wednesday.

Other celebrity appearances announced so far include actress Felicia Day, musician will.i.a.m., LL Cool J and former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker.

Two law students from the University of California Berkeley have been charged with a handful of crimes after allegedly beheading a bird during a trip to Las Vegas.

Authorities said that Justin Teixeira and Eric Cuellar stole an exotic bird from the Flamingo resort and casino on October 12. According to NBC News, both men were captured by surveillance cameras removing the 14-year-old guineafowl from its cage.

The two 24-year-olds then allegedly chased the bird into a bush before emerging with the dead body and the severed head. Both men were seen laughing as they terrorized the animal.

KTVU reports that both men were later spotted tossing the birds remains back and forth outside of the Flamingo resort. The guineafowl named Turk was reportedly a part of the hotel and casino’s Wildlife Habitat.

Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said he was particularly disturbed by the law school students’ behavior.

“This was a cruel and malicious act. It is important to hold people accountable for their actions,” he explained.

According to SF Bay, both University of California Berkeley students are facing a number of charges for beheading the bird. While Teixeira is facing felony charges of torturing and killing an animal, Cuellar is staring down a misdemeanor charge of instigating, engaging in, or furthering an act of animal cruelty.

If the law school students are found guilty of the charges currently pending against them, then their careers as lawyers could be in seriously jeopardy. NBC News explains that the State Bar of California requires lawyers to “demonstrate good moral character.”

Both men involved in the decapitation were released on bond. The district attorney said Teixeira and Cuellar are expected to return to Las Vegas for a hearing in February.

Las Vegas, NV – Two blackjack dealers reportedly came to blows inside a Las Vegas casino on Friday night. The incident came to head when one of the employees stabbed another during the confrontation.

The altercation involved 50-year-old Brenda Stokes and an unidentified woman. Police couldn’t confirm if the Bellagio hotel-casino employees were actually working at the time push came to shove.

According to The Associated Press, it’s unclear what instigated the fight between the blackjack dealers or why it ended with someone getting stabbed. However, police have confirmed that Stokes is now behind bars while the victim is receiving treatment for her injuries at an area hospital.

The fight allegedly took place in one of more popular areas of the Bellagio casino. NBC FWD reports that Stokes pulled an “edged blade” on her adversary during the confrontation. By the time the fight was over, the victim was left with several deep cuts on her face.

Authorities haven’t said whether or not the unidentified woman would be charged with any crimes for her role in the Bellagio fight.

According to KSNV, Stokes has been charged with burglary, battery with a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon-substantial bodily harm, and mayhem. The weapon she used in the fight was confiscated by Las Vegas police.

A spokesperson for the Bellagio said that hotel and casino staff are cooperating with Las Vegas police to determine what prompted the fight.

Sadly, this isn’t the first outburst of violence to hit a Las Vegas casino this holiday season. The Associated Press reports an Illinois man fatally shot a hotel concierge clerk before turning the gun on himself earlier this month. Authorities said the killer and his victim had previously dated.

The Bellagio hotel spokesperson said the condition of the woman stabbed by another blackjack dealer was unknown. Authorities are currently investigating the fight.

Ice T and Coco are once again making scandalous headlines as rapper AP.9 reportedly claims he has naked photos of the Las Vegas showgirl in bed. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the Coco and Ice T were recently embroiled in romantic drama after the first round of photos hit the internet.

Coco supposedly angered her husband when pictures of her cuddling with the rap star surfaced online. The blonde former reality show star quickly apologized for what she termed, “inappropriate behavior” and further gossip-filled angst seemed averted. A Radar Online reports claims that the AP.9 rapper is now boasting that evidence exists that the encounter with Coco was not as G-rated as the Vegas showgirl claimed.

The celebrity source had this to say about the photos of the rapper and the reality show star:

“AP.9 has been bragging that he has photos of Coco with him in a private room in Vegas, and that in some of them she’s on a bed, totally naked. He’s been putting feelers out to see if people want to buy the pictures and he’s claiming they’re really salacious and that a lot more happened with Coco than just them posing in a night club.”

Ice T, 53, used Twitter to vent his anger when the previous photos of AP.9 and Coco wound up online. One of the pictures reportedly showed the two “nuzzling” when posed together on a chair. A second Coco photo depicts AP.9 with his hands around her waist while he kissed her on the cheek. The third photo which angered Ice T allegedly showed the rapper grabbing Coco from behind while she “nestled” in his arms.

Former Office star and major movie star Steve Carrell is learning magic for his next role, and new pictures from the movie, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, have popped up online.

In the film Carrell plays Burt Wonderstone, a flamboyant Las Vegas magician threatened by the arrival of  Steve Gray, an edgy new magician played by Jim Carrey.

To compete with Gray, Wonderstone begins to add more outrageous tricks to his show, leading to a major accident on stage and the downward spiral of his character’s career. Did I mention it’s a comedy?

Warner Brothers sent USA Today two images from Burt Wonderstone to begin promoting the movie. In one of the photos Steve Carrell and co-star Jim Carrey both sport wigs with excessive hair. The director, Don Scardino, had this to say:

“This is definitely a wig picture. The hair budget was killer. Jim Carrey wears a really outrageous one.”

The other photo shows Carrell with co-star Steve Buscemi, who plays Wonderstone’s assistant in the film.

Carrell decided to go all out to make sure his character would be convincing to audiences. During production he shaved his chest and got weekly spray tans:

“That’s among the most humiliating of experiences. To be in your bikini underwear and be sprayed head-to-toe in a glossy bronze hue. But this is a very self-centered, arrogant sort of a peacock and I felt he should look that way.”

The trailer for The Incredible Burt Wonderstone arrives on Friday and the movie comes to theaters on March 8, 2013.

Overall 2013 looks to be a huge year for Steve Carrell who will also be seen starring in Foxcatcher, Despicable Me 2 and The Way Way Back.

LAS VEGAS – On Saturday, police continued to search for any evidence that might lead to a motive for the murder-suicide that occurred Friday night at one of the strips busiest casinos.

As we previously reported, the Excalibur Hotel and Casino shooting occurred at around 8:30 PM local time. Law enforcement officials say that the gunman shot a vendor at the Excalibur’s concierge desk. After shooting the woman, the gunman then turned the gun on himself and died at the scene. The female vendor was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Neither the gunman nor the victim was identified. A police spokesman also told the Los Angeles Times that the relationship between the gunman and the victim was not immediately clear.

An unidentified hotel worker told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the woman was working when her boyfriend shot her in the face and then turned the gun on himself.

The murder-suicide happened on an unusually busy Friday night when Las Vegas was hosting the National Finals Rodeo and other events.

When the gunman fired his gun, police say, that some casino patrons dropped their chips and ran out the front door in a scene of panic.

According to CBS, the Excalibur Casino remained open for business after the murder-suicide.

The Excalibur Hotel and Casino is located at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard.

Even though violence is rare on the Las Vegas Strip; due to the recent shootings all around the United States, I am no longer surprised to hear how violent people can be.

Las Vegas, NV – Many Las Vegas quickie wedding chapels feel that 12-12-12 is a good gamble on improving their luck. Las Vegas features high unemployment but is also suffering from a serious love recession. According to the Associated Press, Sin City’s wedding businesses hope that December 12, 2012 will be a great money-making opportunity since for many the real meaning of 12-12-12 is love.

While Las Vegas is still well-known for its quickie weddings and elopement opportunities,  business revenue has fallen by a third since 2004 as cities from New Orleans to New York have formed serious competition. Las Vegas captured 5.7 percent of the American wedding market in 2004 compared to only 4.4 percent in 2010, although this hasn’t prevented Denny’s from getting in on the act.

The date 12-12-12 comes only once in a century. As such, triple-digit weddings are seen as a lifeline for an industry that is considered in decline.

“From a marketing perspective, it’s a very big deal. Numbers are associated with Vegas,” said Ann Parsons, marketing director for Vegas Weddings, to the AP. “Unfortunately, it’s the last date like that we’ll have.”

Many couples consider it lucky to get married on matching triple number date. According to The New York Times,  12-12-12 is the the last such triple-date likely to occur in the lifetimes of any prospective honeymooner. Weddings for lucky 07-07-07, which gamblers will recognize as the numbers for a lucky slot machine winner, broke Las Vegas records. 10-10-10 and 11-11-11 were in close pursuit. During those time periods, Clark County, which includes Las Vegas, “issued licenses to 4,333; 3,090; and 3,342 couples. The total for an average month would be about 7,500.”

12-12-12 will not be the last opportunity for Las Vegas to make a killing. Vegas Chapels are already starting to market “Armageddon Wedding” packages for December 21, 2012. While not a triple-number date, the end of the Mayan calendar is believed by many to portend the end of the world.

Las Vegas, NV – Shania Twain took to the sage at Caesars Palace and proved that she is still country super-star material. A decade ago, Twain was heralded as one of the biggest music stars in America. She crossed the boundaries between country and pop music flawlessly. On Saturday evening, she brought the house down in Las Vegas and showed she has the potential to be a smashing success the second time around.

Shania Twain began a two-year musical residency at the Colosseum at Caesar Palace on Saturday night, the New York Times reports. The entered the stage wearing a form-fitting and sparkly bodysuit on a motorcycle suspended in the air. Twain spent approximately an hour and a half on stage giving fans an exciting and glittery performance that she was known for during the 90s and early 2000s.

Excluding the “dry runs” for her premiere show, Shania Twain had not performed in public since the Up! tour in 2004. The country singer made national headlines in 2008 when her marriage to her producer husband Mutt Lange fell apart when he reportedly left her for one of her close friends. The tabloids picked up on the singer’s personal tragedy and published multiple stories on the matter.

Twain was a guest judge on American Idol in 2010. In 2011, Shania published her memoir, From This Moment On. She also participated in a self-help style reality show, Why Not? With Shania Twain on the Oprah Winfrey Network. On the reality show, the music star discussed struggling with her voice. She noted that her singing voice had eluded her for both psychological and physical reasons after the peak of her career.

Denny’s new wedding chapel gives Las Vegas diners a chance to add a lifetime of happiness to their Grand Slam breakfast.

The famous 24-hour diner on Thursday opened a Las Vegas location that includes a wedding chapel, which Reuters reported was designed to set the Denny’s apart from other eateries on the Vegas strip.

“A normal Denny’s is not going to cut it in Vegas,” said Frances Allen, chief marketing officer at Denny’s.

Denny’s new wedding chapel is not the only unique feature in the Las Vegas location, she noted. The restaurant opened there last week will have a new bar, a feature included in fewer than 50 of the total 1,700 Denny’s worldwide.

It will also have an interactive photo booth with props and an an option to share the touristy shots via social media, WTVR in Las Vegas reported. Patrons who don’t want to make use of Denny’s new wedding chapel will be able to head to the bar to sample some unique cocktails including a bacon-flavored martini.

The Las Vegas Denny’s restaurant will also be among the biggest in the company. Located on Freemont Street, the Denny’s will cover 6,400 square feet and is owned by the parent company instead of being franchised. Company officials also said it was among the most expensive Denny’s ever to be built, though they did not give a total cost for its construction.

There was some other big news for Denny’s new wedding chapel, which is set to open in the first quarter of 2013. The chapel will kick off with a celebrity wedding in 2013, though details of which celebrity were not given.

There are many people who travel to Las Vegas each year. Whether it be for fun, work, or just for a temporary escape from reality; most of Sin City’s visitors are looking to party while they are there.

According to NBC News, the more than 21 million visitors that Las Vegas gets each year now have the opportunity to get the party started at the airport.

Las Vegas’ McCarran International Airport opened The Liquor Library earlier this month. The unique liquor shop is located in the baggage claim area of Terminal 1. The shop offers beer, wine, liquor, packaged snacks and cups, ice and mixers.This way, Las Vegas travelers can get their party essentials before their checked bags even hit the carousels.

Most travelers are familiar with post-security, duty-free liquor stores that are accessible only to passengers flying on international itineraries. The Liquor Library, however, is open to all. The shop collects sales and liquor taxes and is believed to be the first of its kind in a domestic airport.

The Liquor Library marketing director Diane Boyle told NBC News this, “Essentially, we offer most of what any liquor store would, just in a much more traveler friendly location.”

Because of the limited space inside The Liquor Library– just 1,400 square feet – the shop’s designers decided to stack the merchandise on tall “bookshelves” which are accessed by “librarians” (the sales clerks) who will climb up and down rolling, library-style ladders to retrieve customers’ orders.

Male travelers will, more than likely, really like this shop. Boyle says, “Our librarians wear charcoal grey pencil skirts, white button down shirts, black stockings and very cute spectacles while working on the sales floor.”

The employee uniforms may attract a lot of customers, but the daily in-store tastings, which are hosted by different brands, may also help push sales.

During The Liquor Library’s first week of operation, the store hit it’s projected sales of spirits, with the best sellers being Grey Goose, Kettle One, Jack Daniel’s and Kinky Vodka. Boyle said that the beer is “flying off the shelves,” but there’s also been a pretty good amount of sales of higher-end champagnes and wine, such as Dom Perignon, Veuve Cliquot, Duckhorn and Silver Oak.

There are many places in Las Vegas to buy alcohol, but The Liquor Library is very convenient for people who might not want to leave their hotel room to look for a liquor store.

Merson, 24, won the World Series of Poker after outlasting all of his opponents during a marathon session which ended before dawn, in Las Vegas, NV.

The World Series of Poker began in July with a no-limit Texas hold-em series, which included nearly 7,000 players.

Merson spoke with the Associated Press and said that there was no way to prepare for the game:

“This whole stage is nothing you could ever prepare for.”

Merson went mano-a-mano with  Las Vegas-native Jesse Sylvia, 26, before going all-in, with king-high, the Associated Press reports.

Merson’s victory hand included a three sixes, a nine, a seven, a three, and his king-high, which won over Sylvia’s queen-high.

In addition to the cash prize, Merson was presented with poker’s utmost symbol of achievement-Jason of Beverly Hills platinum and gold bracelet, covered in diamonds.

The way a World Series of Poker Player of the Year is determined, is a points-based system which gives players with the most accumulated points over the course of 68 gold bracelet events which are played in a calender year.

Merson told the Associated Press that he was relieved and excited to have completed the series and won:

“I feel pretty good — got all the tears out, so now I feel relaxed.”

Merson has been playing poker full-time for about  the past five years. The last five champions of the Poker World Series were also between the age of 21-24.

The World Series of Poker Tournament began last year at the Rio Las Vegas, but Merson made it to the end as the champion.

Katy Perry performed at an Obama campaign rally in Las Vegas on Wednesday, and the dress she wore might go far in influencing undecided voters.

The pop superstar has been very vocal in her support for President Obama this election season, and on October 24, she served as the opening act as a Sin City campaign rally. Perry wore a skin-tight white latex dress that was made to look like a voting ballot, with the box next to “Obama/Biden” selected over an empty box for Mitt Romney, reports Celebrity Gossip.

Taking the stage in Doolittle Park, Perry was dressed in a Democratic blue skirt while singing into a microphone that was made into a Statue of Liberty torch. Perry warmed up the crowd with “Let’s Stay Together,” eventually unzipping into the sexy white latex ballot dress that you can see above and below.

We don’t know if Perry’s look will sway undecided voters, who have been noted as the deal-breakers in this year’s tight presidential race. However, on the basest and most superficial level, that dress is certainly going to get the attention it’s after. Heck, it got mine.

Prince Harry’s Las Vegas model pal is claiming that the British Secret Service tossed her in jail for a month, just hours after the gave an interview about her alleged romp with the Royal. Carrie Reichert, 40, maintains that the agency demanded she be sent to jail for bouncing checks in an effort to keep her quiet about the prince’s Sin City antics.

The California model turned beautician was the only woman to speak publicly about Harry’s naked partying in Las Vegas, according to the Daily Mail. The check bouncing warrant executed against Reichert was issued in 2004.

The day after her tell-all interview about the Royal was published, Carrie found herself in handcuffs. The woman spent nearly a month inside a Harrison County jail in Mississippi. The divorcee was at the San Diego airport to depart for a trip to Mexico when police officers into custody.

Reichert had this to say about the British Secret Service and her Prince Harry interview:

“I believe the British secret service or whoever protects the Royals have something to do with my situation. I am not being treated the same as someone else in my situation.”

During her interview about the Vegas suite party where the now famous naked photos were taken, Carrie Reichert claims she spent 20 minutes alone with the prince and claims she kissed the man second in line for the British throne, according to the Mirror.

The former model’s attorney, Donald Rafferty, is investing the alleged role the British Secret Service may have played in the check bouncing arrest. Rafferty maintains his client feels that she is being treated differently than others, presumably charged with the same crime. She allegedly wrote four bad checks totaling $21,672 back in 2003. Carrie denies the charges levied against her, claiming the bounced checks stem from a failed business venture.

The strange incident began when he was introduced at the awards show in the Tuscany Hotel and Casino by his friend Majestik, who led with a story about Joe Jackson confronting Michael’s bodyguards weeks before the latter’s death. Majestik said that the confrontation resulted in Joe Jackson drawing his gun and saying, “If I hear you all givin’ my son drugs or doing anything illegal with my son … I’ma kill all of you,” reports TMZ.

After his introduction, Joe Jackson confirmed Majestik’s tale was true, saying, “It’s very true. Every word he said.”

He then told the crowd, “I carry a piece everywhere I go … I’m gonna show it to you,” opening the suit jacket to reveal it to the crowd. Joe Jackson explained, “I’ve been threatened a lot of times and so I need to be safe.”

The group estimates that 154 million people around the world have read something about the story or have seen the naked photos of the Royal Family member. That means, in just under three months, approximately 2 million people per day have seen the photos and likely thought about the crazy fun they could be having in Las Vegas.

While the LVCVA admits that tracking the exact amount of tourism generated by the Prince Harry naked romp is nearly impossible, they believe his actions are directly responsible for unexpected spikes in Las Vegas revenue.

LVCVA Board Chairman Tom Collins tells TMZ:

“God bless Prince Harry. He made us a bunch of money.”

Ironically, Prince Harry was caught in the buff just after Las Vegas officials launched the “know the code” campaign which focuses on the “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” moniker.

During Green Day’s performance at the MGM Grand Theater, Armstrong was apparently incensed that his set time had been reduced, and unleashed a profanity-laden rant in between songs as his set clock ticked away. He defended his tenure in the music industry, stressing that he’s been a staple for 25 years (careful, Billie Joe … that’s what people say when they’re washed up) and threw other performers like Justin Bieber and Usher under the bus.

“I’m going to play a f—ing new song,” he said. “F— this sh–. Gimme a f—ing break. One minute left. One minute f—ing left. You’re going to give me one minute.”

Armstrong continued:

“I’m not f—ing Justin Bieber, you mother—-ers. You’ve got to be f—ing joking. I got one minute. One minute left. Now I got nothing left.”

By the way, the Biebs wasn’t even at the iHeartRadio Fest, reports MTV News.

According to Perez, Green Day’s set was cut 20 minutes short so that Usher could have more stage time. It is unknown when Armstrong was informed of this, but he seemed pretty upset throughout his entire set over what he perceived as disrespect on the part of iHeartRadio. It’s really kind of sad.

Las Vegas, NV – A teacher couple was arrested for allegedly engaging in a threesome with a 16-year-old female student. Bambie Dewey, 32, and John Stalmach, 31, were charged with soliciting sex from a minor. Stalmach was also booked on sexual misconduct between a student and teacher charges. Henderson County law enforcement officers maintain the couple had inappropriate physical contact with the girl together in their home and that the male educator also had intercourse with the teenager later on his own.

Both teachers were employed at Brown Junior High School; the alleged victim also attended the same public facility. Stalmach is currently employed at Dailey Elementary, according to the Daily Mail. The accuser is attends Basic High, where Stalmach also once taught, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

A statement released by the district reads:

“These teachers are off payroll and this serves as a reminder to parents to talk to their kids about any abnormal interactions with adults.”

In Nevada, it is a felony for anyone over the age of 21 working in a position of authority at an educational facility to have any type of sexual contact with a student. If the minor is 16 or 17, the offender is charged with a class C felony. Offenses which occur with students who are 14 or 15 are charged under class B felony statutes. Both of the adults accused of engaging in a minajatwa with the female minor are being held on bond at a local jail.

Earlier this year, three other adults in positions of authority at school districts in the Las Vegas are were also arrested on a variety of lewdness, molestation, or sexual misconduct charges.

Four years ago, the Royal served quite briefly as a helicopter pilot in Afghanistan. The current military assignment is slated to last four months.

Las Vegas, NV – Maria Del Carmen Gomez had both her hands severed and was stabbed in the head with a machete wielded by her ex-boyfriend earlier this year. Carmen, 53, with reattached hands still in bandages, is now forced to battle metastic uterine cancer and undergo even more surgery.

Maria Del Carmen Gomez was stabbed with an 18-inch machete blade, losing both of her hands  while locked in a violent physical battle with her ex-boyfriend, according to the Daily Mail. Paramedics rushed Gomez to the hospital after the machete attack for life-saving surgery. Maria Del Carmen Gomez was able to have her severed hands reattached and the serous machete wound to her head treated. Las Vegas surgeons spent five hours correcting the damage sustained during the machete attack and reattaching the victim’s hands.

Gomez now faces another uphill battle while she is still recovering from the machete attack. The Las Vegas machete victim still wears heavy bandages on her hands and visible scars on her head from the wounds sustained in the domestic violence incident, KTNV relates. According to the Daily Mail, Maria Del Carmen Gomez will spend another five hours on the operating table as surgeons remove her ovaries and uterus and cut cancer cells from her lymph nodes, colon, and diaphragm. Although the cancer was in an advanced stage when discovered inside Maria Del Carmen Gomez’s body, her post-chemotherapy treatment prognosis is positive.

Armando Vergara-Martinez reportedly slashed his own neck with the machete after severing Maria Del Carmen Gomez’s hands and slicing her head. The machete attack occurred outside a Las Vegas convenience store in March; Maria Del Carmen Gomez had told him to stop by for a job recommendation.  Paramedics were able to save the alleged machete attacker’s life, but he now faces domestic violence and murder charges.  The machete victim had reported her ex-boyfriend to the Las Vegas police after a previous attack, which landed him in jail on a misdemeanor strangulation charge.

The Southwest Airlines flight departed from Fort Lauderdale and made a brief pit stop at the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans.  Fafane Daniel, 32, was allegedly behaving in an unruly manner, reportedly prompting the verbal altercation to turn physical. Fafane Daniel was charged with assault on a passenger and interfering with a flight crew.

It is not yet known if Daniel and the passenger she allegedly punched on Southwest Airlines flight 2509 knew one another; or if Fafane Daniel was truly on the way to Vegas for a bacherlorette party like in the Bridesmaids movie.

Although there was no “Air Marshal John” like in the hit Bridesmaids comedy, the Southwest Airlines flight 2509 staff was able to contain the situation quickly.

FBI Special Agent Kyle Hanrahan reports the plane continued on to its Las Vegas destination after Fafane Daniel was taken into custody.

“It was broken up by the flight crew and it was determined that Fafane Daniel was the person who needed to be arrested,” Agent Hanrahan told The Times Picayune.

Fafane Daniel is scheduled to appear before a federal magistrate. There were no injuries as a result of the Southwest Airlines Las Vegas flight delay. FBI agents noted during The Times Picayune interview that the cause of the fist fight will not likely be known until Fafane Daniel makes her court appearance.

The Royal Family’s anger allegedly stems from a lack of due diligence by Prince Harry’s handlers and security team. The young women enjoying the company of Prince Harry and his friends were not asked to turn over their cell phones upon entering the Las Vegas suit, which is reportedly standard protocol. Radar Online reports the Royal Family has banned the publication of a naked Prince Harry photos from running in UK tabloids.

As the night of fun continued on, several of Prince Harry’s female companions reportedly began snapping pics of the Royal from their cell phones. According to TMZ, one of Prince Harry’s handlers simply said, “aww, come on – no photos,” but did not confiscate the cell phones or erase the images of Prince Harry partying and in some stage of dress which the Royal Family would likely not consider proper for public viewing.

Prince Harry naked in photos is something which could have been avoided if the Royal’s handlers and security team had not been “asleep at the wheel” and enjoying the party a little bit too much themselves, a source told TMZ. Prince Harry was allegedly playing a game of naked pool when the photos which raised the ire of the Royal Family were taken.

Axl Rose, lead singer of the legendary rock band Guns N’ Roses, has experienced a bit of a setback in regards to his lawsuit against the makers of the popular video game Guitar Hero. According to MSN, a judge has thrown out part of the case against the developers, though its believed this dilemma won’t have an effect on other aspects of the lawsuit.

Axl Rose believes that executives at Activision Blizzard used the band’s songs without permission when they released Guitar Hero III back in 2007. To make matters worse, the game also included a likeness of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, which Rose also claims was used without consent. Unfortunately for Axl, he waited a little too long to file the lawsuit. As such, a Los Angeles judge has dismissed a portion of the suit since it doesn’t fall within the statute of limitations.

However, there’s still hope for the rocker’s lawsuit against the developers. Starpulse reports that a breach of contract lawsuit is still on the table. To settle the dispute between Rose and the makers of Guitar Hero III, Activision Blizzard agreed to make a game based around the music of Guns N’ Roses. Since the bottom has pretty much dropped out on the music game genre, the company never delivered the goods. Naturally, Rose wants compensation.

Of course, everything isn’t just lawsuits and contractual breaches in Axl’s world. Guns N’ Roses, of which Rose is the only remaining original member, will begin its Las Vegas residency this October. The band is scheduled to perform a dozen shows before wrapping things up in November. Tickets, which are priced around $45, go on sale August 17.

Axl Rose’s lawsuit with the makers of Guitar Hero will go to trial next February. As far as that Guns N’ Roses game is concerned, I wouldn’t hold your breath.

The Harrison family who operate the Las Vegas pawn shop seen on the History Channel’s highly rated Pawn Stars have yet another way of cashing in — renting out the shop on Las Vegas Boulevard for private parties and corporate events, including a “meet and greet” with at least one of the cast members.

Rick Harrison, co-owner of the World Famous Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (that’s the actual name of the venue) and the dude who does most of the bargaining shown on the reality television series, told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the store can indeed be leased out for catered parties:

“Why not?” he said. “We’re always looking for more revenue streams. Plus, it brings more business downtown.”

The pawn shop’s website reveals that there is a slight catch in the rental arrangement, however:

The 3,500 square feet of retail space at the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is available and can be incorporated into your event, but the primary rental space reserved for events is a 1,300 square foot four walled open air outdoor party pad at the back of the building.

As a result of the television exposure, the Harrison’s family business has become a popular tourist attraction for Las Vegas visitors. In addition to the merchandise sold in the store and on eBay, and what they get paid for doing the series on the History Channel, they also have an ancillary business selling souvenirs with a tie-in to the show.

The Olympic celebration party has not yet ended for successful Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte. The Olympian started out his Thursday night fun at the WWE SummerSlam VIP Kickoff party at the Beverly Hills Hotel where he hung out with David Beckham before heading to Las Vegas where he partied at TAO nightclub for Worship Thursday.

It has been a big month for Lochte; not only did he have a great run in London, he recently landed a cameo appearance on the hit TV drama 90210. 

A source tells PEOPLE that Lochte:

“Had every female on the carpet clamoring for his attention. He was a really sweet guy and more gorgeous in person.”

Lochte apparently wanted to meet his “celeb crush” Carmen Electra but had to catch his plane to Las Vegas before she arrived at the WWE part.

After arriving in Sin City, observers noted that Lochte received a warm welcome at TAO as the venue’s bottle fairy flew threw the air with the American Flag as waitresses cheered him on while wearing USA-themes outfits.

Furthering his Las Vegas fun and celebrating his 28th birthday, Ryan Lochte was spotted at the Azure Pool at The Palazzo where he wore a pink speedo while chatting up a group of females.

With TV appearances, city hoping party plans, and a fan base that appears to be growing by the second it looks like Ryan Lochte is set to nicely fill in for the now retired Michael Phelps.

Prince Harry hopped a plane to Las Vegas after completing his duties at the London Olympics. The British Royal was spotted with bikini clad babes while sipping drinks by the pool at a Las Vegas hotel over the weekend. Prince Harry was adorned in red, flowery swim trunks while enjoying the Vegas party atmosphere, according to the Daily Mail.

A group of male buddies accompanied Prince Harry to the MGM Grand resort in Las Vegas. Prince Harry reportedly went mostly unnoticed while lounging poolside in Vegas, listening to the MGM Grand resort DJs play music to entertain the crowd of young, elite singles. Jennifer Lopez was hosting a party at the resort on Saturday, attracting the bulk of eager paparazzi in her direction.

Prince Harry lodged inside a private bungalow at the Vegas hotel and allegedly did not wander far from his Vegas room throughout his stay at the MGM Grand. A hotel guest interviewed by People magazine noted Prince Harry was approached by several small groups of women throughout the weekend, but the young Royal did not appear to give extra attention to any one woman and behaved like a gentleman.

Last year Prince Harry visited Las Vegas with a group of pilots during a 12-week helicopter training course. During that trip, the Royal stayed at the Wynn Hotel and enjoyed the Sin City nightlife with his pilot pals at the Tryst nightclub. Prince Harry appears to be keeping a lower profile during his current Las Vegas vacation and has not yet been spotted out partying til the wee hours of the morning or leaving with any young women after a few spins around the dance floor.

The fact that Guns N’ Roses’ landmark album “Appetite For Destruction” just turned 25 makes me feel incredibly old. Although the lineup is a lot different than it was in those days, Axl Rose is still plugging away, releasing albums and booking gigs under the GNR banner. According to MSN, the band has landed a lengthy Las Vegas gig at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino this fall.

Guns N’ Roses celebrated the new year at the casino’s club The Joint, a performance which left quite the impression on Bobby Reynolds, vice president of booking at residency producer AEG Live. “They were incredible; we watched them perform their timeless hits and soon-to-be legendary songs off ‘Chinese Democracy,’” he explained. “Immediately following, AEG Live and Hard Rock began turning our fantasy of having them as a resident artist into a reality.”

The San Francisco Chronicle reports that the band will kick off their residency, entitled Appetite for Democracy, on October 31. The band will reportedly perform a dozen concerts before wrapping things up on November 24. Tickets, which are priced at $45, go on sale August 17.

Guns N’ Roses isn’t the only musical act looking to make some Vegas money over the next several months. Not only have country music couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw announced residencies, Cee Lo Green and Shania Twain have also scheduled gigs at top-dollar casinos.

The new Las Vegas gig is good news for GNR fans, who were obviously disappointed when Axl Rose refused to attend the band’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland earlier this year.

Guns N’ Roses, which originally consisted of vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler, formed in 1985. The Los Angeles, California band signed to Geffen Records one year later. In 1987, the group issued their classic debut album “Appetite for Destruction,” which has sold over 30 million copies to-date.
