See that keyboard up there?

Apparently it’s a very rare IBM M15 ‘split’ ergonomic keyboard. Only a small number of them were made over a short span of time (1994 – 1995) where new ones sold for around $179, unless you got the optional number keypad which would drive the price up to $199.

These things are so rare that when one hits eBay it’s a rather big deal it seems even though the starting bid was only $29.95.

How big of a deal you ask?

Well the current bid in the lead is $1,625 with four days left in the auction, and the thing is the keyboard isn’t even in primo shape as you can see from the picture.

Time to start checking those computer parts bins in your closet eh.

So Rock Band 3 is including keyboard support in its RAWWWWWK armory, and here’s a short video full of Harmonix dudes showing how the thing works. Truth be told, it looks pretty damn fun, particularly when playing ‘The Power of Love’ by Huey Lewis and The News.

You’ll also see tracks in here from Ida Maria, Tears for Fears and Them Crooked Vultures, and as usual expert mode looks like a beast of a challenge for the triple-jointed lunatics who walk among you.

The game hits PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, and (lol) Nintendo DS on October 26 in the US and everywhere else October 29 – just in time for the season of making your family look like tits in the safety of their own home.

pictures of the Tron controller first surface people thought is was some sort of viral marketing tactic but it turns out that it wasn’t. As well Razer has released a keyboard and mouse combination to celebrate the upcoming Tron Legacy movie.

Tron Controller:

This fancy looking Tron controller by PDP will cost you around $50 and will be available this fall for PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360.

Razer mouse:

Razer’s new Tron Legacy ergonomic gaming mouse incorporates the company’s 5600dpi 3.5g gaming grade sensor for cutting-edge performance.

Razer keyboard:

The keyboard features programmable keys and macro capabilities as well as a detachable keypad, and a high-precision mouse mat.

The Candy Skin Case review:

Pro:

• It took some effort to put the skin on the iPad, but once it’s there it isn’t falling off, thats for sure!
• If you own an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad you know how slippery they can be. With this skin on it’ll never slide anywhere
• You can drop your iPad and I bet it’ll be unharmed most of the times. (I didn’t test that, but the skin is pretty thick)
• The price vs. value

Con:

• Sound quality is reduced. It sounds a bit muffled, but my wife still enjoys Angry Birds HD
• The bottom port is a bit covered by the skin, so you need to fiddle a bit to plug the data cable in
• Makes the iPad look a little “ugly”. It’s a shame to ruin the beautiful design

Summary:

The skin is still on my iPad, but as soon as I get my iPad case I think it’s coming off again, but for the very low price tag, it’s a very affordable solution to protect your precious iPad.

You have to fiddle a bit to get the data cable plugged in

The hole doesn't fit completely over the Apple, but thats a minor thing

The Bluetooth Keyboard (Freedom Pro) review:

Pro:

• Very easy to setup and install
• Doesn’t take up much space
• You can write even faster
• 1/10 less greasy fingers on the display
• Works on other devices (Blackberry, Playstation PSP, Android, Windows Mobile and so forth)
• A lot of keyboard short cuts

Con:

• A lot of keyboard short cuts. It might confuse some, because not many works on an iPad (not sure whos’ fault that is)
• The price (you really have to write a lot on your iPad to spend the money on this)
• Another device to drag a long
• Takes some time to get used to writing on compared to the iPad

Summary:

Folded up and in the case this keyboard doesn’t take up much space. I’m just not completely sure about the concept of iPad and keyboard yet. I think it looks a bit dumb to first take your iPad of out the case and then unpack a keyboard afterwards. Why not just bring your laptop then?! I’ve given the keyboard a chance at some business meetings. I think it’ll stay in my bag for a while and then I’ll see what happens.

Keyboards or pianos might not be the most RAAWWWWK of instruments, but it looks like they will appear in Rock Band 3.

A new demo for Rock Band: Green Day recently launched on Xbox Live, along with a teaser for Rock Band 3 which featured the image above.

It shows the usual line-up of bass, drums, guitar, and mic, but check that out: the old ivories themselves, a keyboard, or perhaps a piano, or – be still my beating heart – a keytar!

This does raise one question: how damn big are those Rock Band band set boxes going to be getting? That’s four different instruments jammed into the box, alongside a mike.
