Kyra Sedgwick showed off a new tattoo last night on the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. “The Closer” actress said that the new tattoo represents each member of her family.

Sedgwick said:

“It’s a family tattoo. It’s all our initials K, K, S and T.”

People Magazine reports that Sedgwick is referring to her husband, Kevin Bacon, their daughter Sosie and their son Travis.

Sedgwick was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series but lost out to Jessica Lange for her work in “American Horror Story.” Sedgwick did walk across the stage, however, as she presented the award for outstanding supporting female actor in a mini-series or movie with her husband Kevin Bacon to Octavia Spencer for her work in The Help.

As we reported back in 2008, actor Kevin Bacon and his actress-wife Kyra Sedgwick were the victims of Bernie Madoff’s massive $50 billion Ponzi scheme that, according to rumor, left them with “very little”. According to a recent interview, however, it seems that Kevin Bacon and his family are recovering from the ordeal quite nicely.

“I’m not going to say it didn’t have its emotional downsides,” Bacon told Details magazine regarding the scheme. “”But we’re both young, and we both had the ability to work and roll up our sleeves and start putting the pieces back together. The truth is that we went through it together.”

The couple never made it public just how much of their money was lost in the scheme, but he did reveal to Howard Stern on his Sirius XM show recently that a “lot of money” was lost — precisely how much he didn’t say.

“It’s fine,” he told Stern. “So you have a moment where you go, ‘Holy (expletive), that was many, many years of work just went away in a poof of smoke.’ And then you go, ‘Hang on, we’re okay. We’re looking at each other, we got a nice apartment, our kids are healthy. There’s other people who had it a lot worse. We can both work.’”

In a twist of irony, Bacon has already requested to play himself in the future Biopic that is due for production with Robert DeNiro signed up to play Madoff.  DeNiro and Bacon first appeared together in the film Sleepers and Kevin told The Sun:

“How great would it be if I could play myself and make an appearance and get a chance to work with Bob again?”

Meanwhile Bacon is moving forward with his latest role  in the upcoming ­X-Men: First Class, a film based on Marvel’s X-Men universe set in the 1960s. Kevin Bacon plays the role of villain Sebastian Shaw in the movie. When asked if he chooses to be cast into the role of the bad guy each time this is what he said.

I never go, “Oh, I want to do it because he’s the bad guy.” I can’t stand badly written bad guys or guys who are just miserable pricks. The character in Super is just such a sociopath, I found it amusing. And Jean-Claude Van Damme had been offered the part. Madoff, now 73, has been serving his 150-year prison sentence for the scheme since 2009.

He’s implying all the stuff Robert Downey Jr. has done is gay, and threw in a crack about RDJ’s drug use. RDJ snarked back. Now he’s saying he tried to sleep with all his former co-stars. Oooh! He said “I’d give it to all five of you. At once.” Dirty.

The award RDJ is presenting is Best Actress (Comedy or Musical), which goes to Annette Bening, for The Kids are Alright.

9:10 That was a long commercial break. Sylvester Stallone is inexplicably on stage, presenting a montage of The Fighter. Now Geoffrey Rush and Tilda Swinton are presenting, and Tilda Swinton looks reliably insane and is wearing a bedsheet and no lipstick. Apparently, Al Pacino gets to talk as long as he wants with no music, so screw you Steve Buscemi.

Claire Danes wins Best Actress in a Mini Series or TV Movie, for Temple Grandin- her second win after My So Called Life. Temple Grandin is in the audience. “Everyone was so viiiital,” Danes whines.

No respect: Actor Kevin Bacon was mugged while catching a train in New York City Thursday (May 21.)

According to reports, Bacon’s BlackBerry was stolen at the 53rd Street and Seventh Avenue Station. Witnesses say that Bacon tried to chase down the thief, but lost him in the crowd. Police are said to be investigating.

Let’s just hope for the thief’s sake that the separation between the pair isn’t significantly less than the 6 degrees it usually is between Kevin Bacon and 99% of the rest of the world.

Kevin Bacon was so cool its almost uncool to call him cool. Now there is this preview of Kevin Bacon’s new prank/reality show, BACON’D! It’s clearly a spoof of Ashton Kutcher’s reality TV series Punk’d.

I am not sure whether the “sneak peek” is real, or its a spoof of a spoof. But it does seem a little desperate. Some commenters who are taking the video seriously are saying he did it because he lost money in the Maddoff scheme.

There are a couple of laugh out loud moments, I personally love where is in the photo with a tourist and whent hey take the snap he hides his face.

Rumor has it that Bacon and his wife Kyra have lost nearly everything (excluding their land and the contents of their checking accounts), but Eichorn said that we shouldn’t “speculate or rely on hearsay.”

Well, we shouldn’t, but we want to… I’m sure that’s not the last of the damage to be revealed, with Steven Spielberg’s Wunderkinder Foundation already affected and Jeffrey Katzenberg of Dreamworks reported to have “lost millions” by the Wall Street Journal.

A federal bankruptcy judge released $28 million of Madoff’s assets today (Tuesday) to cover administrative, case-related costs. $883,00 had already been transferred to cover employees’ salaries and health care, and the trustee has been authorized to sell assets to recoup lost investor funds. 

Richard Bernard, the trustees’ rep, said that “This is the first step of many to recover assets.”

Progress is good, but it’s sad to think about all of Bacon’s hard-earned Footloose cash going down the drain.

Accusations have been traded between the Hotel and the family including industrial sabotage, extortion and that Kevin Bacon may have put the shit in the ice cream, in some sort of weird six degrees of separation defense. Are you keeping up?

Today’s revelation comes from the Australian Food Regulator, which after testing the foreign substance announced that the shit, is really shit or feacal matter to be precise. For real. The authority will do further DNA testing tomorrow to determine whether its an animal or human which produced the “sample”. Apparently the DNA testing will also be able to tell what gender produced it.

The Hotel has declared that it is conducting DNA testing of all its staff to try to rule out that any of them produced the shit that found its way into the bowl of ice cream. It gives a whole new meaning to who’s your daddy!

My favorite revelation of today? That one of the family’s kids was crying and yelling in the restaurant “you made my mum eat poo”. That has got to be the only time its acceptable for a kid to say his mum ate shit.

Poo, ice cream and Kevin Bacon, the story of just who put shit into a family’s ice cream at the Coogee Bay Hotel is gripping Australia.  We classily covered the story here yesterday but in case you missed it a family was served what looked like compounded chocolate but was actually faeces, with their free serving of ice cream.

With more twists than an “s” bend here is what broke today:

The ice cream was actually revealed to be gelato.  In more interesting news the Hotel held a press conference today, while still serving the free gelato. The Hotel spokesperson alleged the family who was served the excreta, the Whyte family, had “connections” to a rival hotel, implying sabotage.

The Whyte family hit back at claims they tried to “extort” the Hotel for $1 million, and their lawyer said of the claims of competing connections “what is this the six degrees of separation defense?.”  The lawyer then went on to ask if Kevin Bacon put the shit in the ice cream.

This probably comes as a surprise to Kevin Bacon, and may well be the first time Kevin Bacon, shit and ice cream have appeared in the same sentence.

So did Kevin do it?  We still think it was more likely the girls from 2 girls,1 cup.
