Chesney, whose last seven albums have all reached the top of the US Country charts, will compete for the top prize of Entertainer of the Year with Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton and Taylor Swift. The results will be aired live April 1 from Las Vegas on CBS with Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton hosting the show.

In addition to the EOTY nod – Chesney has won the award four times in past – the “Out Last Night” singer has been nominated for a 10th time in the male vocalist category and received double nominations as artist and producer for album of the year for “Hemingway’s Whiskey” and single record of the year and vocal event of the year for “You and Tequila.”

He also receives a song of the year nomination as performer on “You and Tequila,” a collaboration with Grace Potter that was written by Matraca Berg and Deana Carter.

Chesney’s nine 2012 ACM Award nominations are followed by Aldean’s six and Paisley’s four. Swift is the most nominated female solo artist with three. Lady Antebellum leads in group nominations with five, while the Eli Young Band has three.

Among this year’s first time nominees are folk/rock singer Potter (for her duet with Chesney), Aaron Lewis (who earned two nominations), Thompson Square, and Love and Theft. Thompson Square is also a finalist in the fan-voted new artist of the year category announced earlier, so the duo could end up with two nominations after those final nominees are announced in February.

Kenny Chesney Leads 2012 ACM Award Nominations is a post from: The Inquisitr

The two award-winning performers are slated to kick off the tour, which includes stops at nineteen stadiums across the U.S., with a performance at Raymond James Stadium on June 2nd in Tampa, FL. The road trip, which ends Aug. 25 in Foxboro, MA, also includes two cities with yet-to-be-determined dates: Indianapolis and Cleveland.

The Brothers of the Sun tour will not be the first time Chesney and McGraw toured together as the pair first linked up when Chesney opened for McGraw back in 2001.

The duo recently told ABC news they are both looking forward to the 2012 reunion.

“Tim and I have been great friends since we first toured together, and I can’t wait to get back on the road with him,” Chesney said in a press release. “He’s one of my closest friends in music and in life, and I know this tour is going to be something special.”

“Our friendship was forged on the road, so it’s going to be a blast heading out with Kenny again,” McGraw stated.

The tour, which marks Chesney and McGraw’s first tour together in a decade, will also feature Grace Potter & the Nocturnals and Jake Owen.

Tickets for the shows in Dallas, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, East Rutherford, Detroit, and Foxboro go on sale Dec. 3 via Ticketmaster; remaining on-sale dates will be announced in the coming weeks.

The “Decade of Difference” concert – part of a weekend of festivities, including a $6,500 per couple gala belatedly celebrating Clinton’s 65th birthday – will be held this evening (Oct. 15) at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and will be produced by Control Room, the creative force behind some of the world’s most iconic and historic global events including Live Earth and the FIFA World Cup Kick-Off concerts.

Ticket prices for the event, which will be webcast live exclusively on Yahoo.com, range from $50 to $550.

The online program, slated to kick off at 7pm PST, will include highlights and interviews with the artists and other guests, during and after the live event.

Viewers also will be able to access the show on demand, and they’ll be encouraged to make a financial contribution via Yahoo! at the dedicated site found here.

The impending arrival of the Category 3 storm coupled with the recent weather-induced stage collapse tragedies prompted the following statement on Chesney’s official Facebook page:

“Due to the US National Hurricane Center’s forecast that hurricane-level storms that may occur in New England on Sunday, August 28, local officials, promoters, Chesney and his team have decided for safety reasons to push Chesney’s Sunday, August 28 concert at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium to Friday, August 26.”

Following the rescheduling announcement, upset fans took to Kenny’s FB wall to voice their concerns and offer ticket trades.

“Completely devastated that you had to move the concert to Friday night versus Sunday at Gillette Stadium,” one fan posted, adding “I understand the weather but been waiting all year for this concert as I’m deploying to Afghanistan for a year in only a couple of months. Would have been a great way to leave the states as your my fave country singer of all time.”

In other posts, ticket holders raised a valid point when they noted that the concert should have been changed to a later date, instead of one that would force them to leave work early to make the 5pm start time.

“Some people are not able at the last minute to rearrange work/child care. This should have been changed to a date further out NOT closer up.”

For fans who can’t attend the rescheduled date on Friday, refunds will be available at point of purchase. For more information on the event, head over to the Gillette Stadium website.
