At Sunday night’s Golden Globes Award show, ex-Frasier star Kelsey Grammer stunned the audience with an announcement that he and new wife Kayte Walsh were expecting twins.

The surprise wasn’t just to the general public, however- Grammer also shocked his ex-wife Camille Grammer and their two children with the reveal. The pair’s divorce has been contentious, and custody and financial arrangements are still in dispute despite Kelsey’s remarriage to former flight attendant Walsh. It’s probably no surprise that the pair are expecting, either, as Walsh suffered a miscarriage early in their relationship- her father revealed the pregnancy to the media, outing the couple as a couple- but the former Mrs. Grammer believes her ex-husband isn’t exercising due discretion in revealing these tidbits to his family.

Camille says the kids are old enough to watch their dad on TV and understand, and even when not watching, she says kids at school let slip bits of gossip they pick up. She huffs:

“It’s so unfortunate that he still talks about private matters. It’s hurtful to me and its disrespectful to our children. He’s not thinking of the kids when he’s doing stuff like that. My daughter is 10 years old, so she’s able to watch. She’s aware of what’s going on. She hears it from her friends at school, but my son is too young. He’s still only seven. Still, I think it’s disrespectful.”

The Huffington Post reports that a source remarked:

“Camille and the children had no idea. They found out about it from the media. Once again, selfish Kelsey decided to do what’s best for him with no concern for his current children. He needs to stop talking about his private life in public. It’s very hurtful for the children he already has.”

If true, it would certainly seem that Grammer should be a bit more delicate when dropping such major bombs on school children. Do you think Grammer should have told his kids before telling the whole world?

Last night, Kelsey Grammer welcomed a little gold man into his life as he won the best actor award for a television series at the Golden Globes. Soon after he announced that he was expecting twins with his wife Kayte Walsh.

After grabbing his Golden Globe, Grammer said backstage:

“I’m really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals… Fatherhood’s always different, based upon the character that comes into your life. They arrive and tell you what you have to do.”

Grammer’s confidence about his parenting skills is bolstered by the fact that he’ll be raising the twins with his wife, Kayte Walsh. Grammer told People Magazine:

“[Kayte is] extraordinary. She’s one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I’ve ever met. She’s funny and serious all at the same time. She’s an amazing person and I think she’ll blow [the kids] away.”

Grammer won his Golden Globe award last night for his performance in the new series “Boss.” Grammer already has two Golden Globes for “Frasier.”

Kelsey Grammer is known more often than not for his portrayal of lighthearted, generally good characters. His character in Starz political drama Boss, however, is the exact opposite of that.

In Boss, Grammer portrays morally corrupt Chicago mayor Tom Kane, who is diagnosed with a fatal neurological disorder. Kane’s sole driving force is his will to do whatever it takes to keep himself comfortably at the top of the political food chain.

Grammer told ABC News that after his run in the acting world is over, he might dip his toes in the political world – and who knows, he might even go for a mayoral position.

“I’ve had a plan in my head for years that once I’m done with acting, I might try to seek public office,” he said. “I’m a hopeless romantic about the political world. I still believe that good people do good things and they can effect change that is positive and well thought out. I’m still a bit of an innocent in that way.”

While certainly not his only notable accomplishment, Grammer is most known for his role as the titular Dr. Frasier Crane in Frasier and, before that, Cheers. In comparison to Kane, the difference is night and day.

More recently, Grammer was being remembered not so much for his famous role as his comments about his ex-wife on Piers Morgan Tonight. He said of Camille Grammer:

“I think she married me because I was Frasier. I think it was Frasier. You know, he had this great wonderful life … he was stylish … and fabulous, you know, just a little gay … and he was famous. Kelsey Grammer was a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different.”

Well, this almost makes you kinda feel bad for Kelsey Grammer.

The actor- who comes off as a bit smarmy and has some well-known conservative leanings- revealed a very relatable insecurity when talking to Piers Morgan on CNN recently. As you probably know, Grammer recently went through a very contentious, high-profile divorce from now-ex Camille Grammer. And when asked by Morgan why he felt Camille married him in the first place, Grammer mused:

“I think she married me because I was Frasier. I think it was Frasier. You know, he had this great wonderful life … he was stylish … and fabulous, you know, just a little gay … and he was famous. Kelsey Grammer was a different story. You got home and Kelsey Grammer was somebody different.”

But there were other problems, Grammer acknowledged in the tell-all interview. As the marriage dissolved, Grammer’s third wife had no compunction about denigrating her soon-t0-be-ex in the press, which Grammer said hurt a lot. And when the TV star took up with a younger British flight attendant and the couple suffered a miscarriage, Grammer says his wife cruelly commented on the loss publicly. Grammer referred to “that thing about the child we lost … something about it being karma … it’s just disgusting.”

Morgan suggested that the couple both had failings, but Grammer was effusive when discussing his fourth marriage to the flight attendant, Kayte Walsh. He said:

“It was like all the planets had danced together into a segregated charm on our behalf…”

Grammer teared up as he described how he “found a new life.” (Clip below.)

Kelsey Grammer is attempting to gain sole custody of his children while ex-wife Camille Grammer has been telling friends that their children have already made up their minds and want to live with her.

Speaking to TMZ sources close to Camille says she has called the move to gain custody “another act of creepishness and chutzpah.”

She has also told friends that she will “fight like hell” to keep her 6-year-old son and 9-year-old daughter, noting that she will do whatever it takes to have her kids by her side “exactly where the children wish to be.”

According to Camille, “[Kelsey] abandoned his family and fathered a child out of wedlock … which speaks volumes about his parenting.”

Word has arrived that Kelsey Grammer, the 5 time Emmy ward winning actor is going to appear in a new ABC sitcom.

The Frasier star who bombed in his last sitcom “Back to You”, has signed a deal to star in a new ABC comedy about a corporate tycoon who has no choice but to reacquaint himself with his family after being downsized out of his powerful job.

The new project is a boost for Grammer, after the ABC refused to pic up his last sitcom which was a remake of a British series. Grammer is currently filming the remake of Fame.

Apparently the writers of the new series come from Everybody Loves Raymond as well as Good Humor TV and Warner Bros TV.

Rummage through those drawers for your leg warmers, and get ready for an 80′s flashback because they are remaking Fame. Not content to screw up Teenage Mutuant Ninja Turtles, Fraggle Rock and the Karate Kid MGM is doing a remake of Fame to be released September 2009.

It has been announced the do over will star Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally, Debbie Allen, Charles S. Dutton, and Bebe Neuwirth for the roles of instructors and supervisors in the upcoming “Fame” remake.

Production begins this week with director Kevin Tancharoen who is most famous for directing music videos and tours for Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.

Like the 1980′s classic, the remake follows dancers, singers, actors and artists from auditions to graduation at the New York City High School of Performing Arts.

Art imitate life imitating art or something like that as Mullally’s a graduate of the School of American Ballet and will portray a voice instructor; Grammer, who attended Juilliard, will play an orchestra maestro; Dutton, a graduate of Yale School of Drama, will portray an acting teacher; Neuwirth, a Tony winner, will play a dance instructor.

Debbie Allen, who made her debut in the original “Fame,” has been cast as the school’s principal so presumably she will have ring side tickets to just how bad the new version is.

Thomas Dekker will play Marco, Paul Iacono will be Neil, Kristy Flores is the new Rosie and Naturi Naughton is the new Denise.
