Keira Knightley is leaving the Pirates of the Caribean franchise to pursue new projects.

“It was a completely fantastic experience, and it was an amazingly large portion of my life, but I don’t think I need to go there again. I think that it’s done” said Keira.

Keira, however, promises to watch it: “[Johnny Depp] is so wonderful in that character. I’m very excited to see the next one.”

Pirates 4 is due out in 2011, with the rumor mill suggesting that Russell Brand will be joining the cast.

Pirates of the Caribbean is set to return to the big screen with news that Johnny Depp has been signed for the fourth installment of the Disney franchise.

Timing on the next movie hasn’t been confirmed yet, nor whether the biggest star (at least for me) Keira Knightley will return. Depp has commitments through to 2010, so the next movie may not appear on screens until 2011 or even 2012.

The official International Talk Like a Pirate Day site is here, and while it’s archaic as a gentleman o’ fortune, it’s a reasonable place t’ start.

12seconds is celebrating the day by opening up the site to anyone wanting to leave a pirate message. It’s a great chance to get in on the closed alpha test. Details here.

FriendFeed is in on the act, complete with a pirate logo, and many members joining in the fun with pirate names and pirate themes.

Arrrr, there be local pirate sites as well. A few include Aussie Pirate Day at Yaaarrr.com, the exceedingly dry (at least in the heading) British HQ for the event, and Talk Like a Pirate Day Queensland.

Look also for local parties. In Melbourne, there’s PirateTUB in place of the regular MTUB Twitter event.

Eva Longoria shot out at pregnancy rumors recently in OK!, saying “I’m not pregnant. I’m just fat. I gained 5lb over the summer so instead of a size zero, I’m a size one.”

Wow. Bringing numbers into that one doesn’t prove much of a point, considering a good deal of women will be cringing when they see sizes “0″ and “1″ anywhere near the word “fat.”

Don’t worry. She’s barely over 5 feet tall, so her size 1 is our size 8 (or something like that). Repeat after me: it’s all relative.
