British supermodel Kate Moss and The Kills rocker Jamie Hince are tying the knot in England this weekend in a special event that the pair have gone to great lengths to ensure is not spoiled.

The star couple, who met in 2007, have closed off two towns in Britain to ensure privacy at their extravagant festival-style wedding, which begins today and will last throughout the entire weekend.

“Kate hopes closing the towns will ensure there’s no unwanted intrusion on her big day. Guests will have to flash permits to security who will be lining the roads leading into the town. Locals have also received permits so they can come and go as they please,” a source told The Sun, a British news site.

Moss and Hince orginally hoped to marry at the church in the garden at her mansion in Oxfordshire, but after realizing it wouldn’t adequately accommodate their guest list which tops 400, they instead chose to seal the deal at a church in the village of Southrop, which is a few short miles away from Kate’s home.

A few of the artists rumored to be performing at the wedding are Iggy Pop, Beth Ditto, Snoop Dogg and Carl Barat.

Kate Moss + Beth Ditto is such a bad combination; whoever orchestrated that should be to blame for the mess that was the UK’s House of Blue Eyes event. Kate quickly went from trying to smoke indoors with the rowdy Gossip vocalist to grabbing a riding crop, spanking Beth with it, and then strutting down the runway.

The low (high?) point in the evening was when Kate started shouting about going to the toilet and ran behind a bush in the venue’s garden instead. Lovely. You don’t need to be famous to make a fool of yourself, but it’s a lot more fun for all of us!

The grunge factor in combination with sexual factoids about Kate Moss and Amy Winehouse has got to be riveting, in the whole so-terrible-I-can’t-stop-watching way.

I know Pete Doherty is in a band and must create things from time to time besides horrid videos, but my eyebrows raised a couple of notches when I read about his “intensely personal” autobiography that will apparently cover his torrid 18-month relationship with supermodel Kate Moss.

It makes much more sense that Pete has enlisted help from Sean Boru, who also collaborated with other famous types like Michael Carroll and Alex Higgins on their bios. Boru told The Daily Star that “The whole premise of the book is Pete talking about Kate Moss and the sex and drugs and rock’n’roll lifestyle they shared.” (I would like to know a little bit about Kate behind the scenes, although Pete I could do without.)

So poor Pete won’t need exhaust himself, use up his creative juices, or pick his brain too much, then. Close one! He can go back to filming after all.

Roberto Cavalli has made it clear that he’s not a big fan of celebrity diffusion lines, and do you really blame him? The guy’s been designing forever and his delicate design sensibilities have probably been quite offended with horrible, horrible collections. Specifically, Kate Moss is to blame for his recent tirade:

I’m very much against all these celebrities doing diffusion lines. Do I suddenly get up in the morning and say that I am going to start a singing career, with the horrible voice that I have? That’s what these girls do when they show the world how horrible their fashion ranges are. Money is the most corrosive aspect of life today because it means that all attention to detail is forgotten. Kate Moss’s collection was badly made, stupid and bland; you see things like that everywhere. You can’t just buy things for the label – it’s ridiculous.
