Kate Hudson’s surprise birthday party was heavily attended by some of the actresses A-list celebrity friends.

The party was at least partly a shock because she turned 34 on April 19. Whether this was a planned party that was meant to come out of nowhere or simply when they could get everyone together it went down about 10 days after the big day.

This is hardly the first surprise that Goldie Hawn‘s daughter has admitted to. Earlier in the month the actress admitted that she was shocked at the fact that she was pregnant just two months into the romance with rocker Matt Bellamy.

This Kate Hudson surprise was certainly a bird of a different feather with friends like Judd Apatow, Leslie Mann and Cameron Diaz showing up to the party.

The bash was apparently planned and put together by Bellamy (now her fiance) and one attendee said that the was having a marvelous time.

While she had previously said that she certainly didn’t mind just spending her birthday hanging out with her family, it appeared that the presence of close friends at the get together was welcomed.

For her actual birthday, the Reluctant Fundamentalist actress spent the evening watching her soon-to-be husband’s band Muse perform at the IZOD center in New Jersey.

A friend of the couple has commented that they seem very happy together and that they are clearly supportive of each others’ career.

Bellamy certainly seems to have figured out how to work around the actress’ busy schedule. Not only does she appear in the Reluctant Fundamentalist but she has also logged appearances in Glee over the last few years.

In addition to that the 34-year-old is attached to at least five other projects that are currently in the works or in pre-production.

With all that, its a wonder that Kate Hudson was able to attend her own surprise party.

Kate Hudson looked stunning in a red Gucci dress on the cover of the May 2013 Elle UK which hit the newstands Wednesday. However, what the 33-year-old Almost Famous actress had to say might raise a few eyebrows.

According to US Weekly, she described her relationship with the 34-year-old British Muse frontman, Matt Bellamy, this way: “It was all very old-fashioned and proper and we went on lovely dates, but two months later I was pregnant.”

Erm, I’m pretty sure that “all proper” isn’t how that happens.

She already had another son, nine-year-old Ryder, from her marriage with Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson. But according to celebrity site JustJared, she’s now “a lot less rock chick and a lot more about being a good mother.”

If you’re thinking that Hudson is suddenly everywhere, you might be right. Her new film, The Reluctant Fundamentalist, is scheduled for limited release in the US in April, followed by the UK release in May.

Despite the strain caused by getting pregnant only two months into her relationship with Bellamy, the two are still together, and they’ve said that they do plan to eventually get married. Their son, Bingham, was born in July.

Maybe to fan the fickle flames of fame, or maybe it was just an innocent blooper, but Hudson’s famous mom Goldie Hawn recently referred to the couple as being married. The rumor mill went nuts speculating that Hudson and Bellamy had married in secret, but most sources say no.

Either way, Hawn and her own long-time partner, Kurt Russell, have never bothered to marry. However, sources point out that she does sometimes refer to him as her husband, so it may be just a figure of speech for Hawn.

And please don’t be worried that Hawn is losing her marbles. Hudson said yesterday that if she wants advice on anything from dieting to dating, she still goes back to her mom.

But I doubt her mom advised Hudson that getting pregnant two months into the relationship was the way to go. That’s all on you, Kate.

When Kate Hudson needs advice on dieting, or dating, or making her way in show business, she still turns to a familiar source — mom.

The daughter of actress Goldie Hawn said having a mother who blazed a path in the same line of work that she’s chosen is a big help. Kate Hudson said she’s been taking mom’s advice since the day she started in Hollywood.

“When I told her I wanted to go into acting, she just said, ‘OK, if this is what you want to do then you’ve got to start thinking straight,’ ” said Hudson, who stars in The Reluctant Fundamentalist, out next week.

As the daughter of Goldie Hawn, Hudson saw high expectations and often got discouraged when trying to make a name for herself in Hollywood. But she kept at it, eventually scoring a breakout role in Almost Famous and becoming one of the most bankable female stars in show business.

“Take a chance on your own talent and your ambition because if you don’t do that, there’s no one else who will,” she said.

Hudson gave the advice at the ANNPower Leadership Forum, a week-long event that draws teens from across the country and connects them to female leaders in business, entertainment, and the non-profit sector.

Kate Hudson is part of an advisory council that offer mentoring to teenage girls and evaluates community projects to determine which are worthy of funding.

Once upon a time, the Muse frontman claimed that there was “massive evidence” to support theories that the US authorities allowed the attacks to occur or were integral in making them happen. Talking to CMU in 2006, he said “There was a document called ‘Project For The New America Century’ … which clearly says, ‘We need a Pearl Harbour-level event so we can have an excuse to invade the Middle East.’ ” Keep to the music, Matt.

But now, when speaking to the Metro newspaper, Bellamy has distanced himself from these views and stated, “I don’t believe that any more, although there are lots of questions to be answered.”

His views apparently changed as a result of changing his reading habits, “I still read a lot about political history, the influences of corporations and the military, but i make sure I’m reading from credible sources. I think my political views are a bit more nuanced now.”

Muse have finished work on their new thirteen track album, entitled The 2nd Law, which will be released on October 2 in the US, and the band also revealed that their upcoming tour will be awash with the kind of various technological advancements that have helped to turn the trio into one of the best live bands on the planet. Let’s hope that Bellamy keeps his mouth shut throughout, though, except for the singing of course.

More details have emerged regarding Larry David’s new HBO film project. We now know what the film will be called, roughly what it will be about, and perhaps most importantly, who will star in it.

For a while, the only thing we knew about David’s new film was that it won’t be connected to Curb Your Enthusiasm, according to The Wrap. The movie, written by and starring David, will be titled Clear History and will feature an all-star cast including Jon Hamm, Kate Hudson, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Amy Ryan, Phillip Baker Hall, and JB Smooth.

In the film, David will star as Nathan Flomm, described as a former marketing executive at an electric car company who loses his fortune in a petty fight with his boss. Ten years later, Nathan lives on a small island off the coast of Massachusetts under the name Rolly DaVore. His old boss shows up to renovate Nathan’s mansion, causing David’s character to swear revenge on him for his ruined marriage and his professional setbacks.

McBride will play Nathan’s best friend, while Amy Ryan will play his ex-girlfriend (who holds a key secret in the plot). Hamm will play Will Haney, Nathan’s nemesis. Keaton will play Joe Stumpo, a quarry operator, and Hader will play Rags, his friend and lackey.

More casting info from MSN: Mendes plays Jennifer, a character “who takes an off-handed suggestion from Nathan too seriously,” Hall will play McKenzie, “the foreman of a local construction project who is duped into Nathan,” and Smooth will play “the ex-boyfriend of a local woman who blames Nathan for the relationship’s end.”

Hall and Smooth are both Curb vets, and McBride is the star of HBO’s Eastbound and Down. Greg Mottola will direct.

Gleeks are getting pretty excited about the upcoming season of the hit Fox show. Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, and other fan favorites will be returning for the fourth season of Glee, as well as celebrity guests like Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson.

Hudson has already started filming with the cast of Glee and it looks like she’s having a pretty good time. Creator Ryan Murphy sent out a photo of the Almost Famous actress dancing in fishnet stockings on the set of the Fox show.

Murphy writes: ”Kate Hudson in action.”

Glee has seen several celebrity guests during its first three seasons. Lindsay Lohan, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Britney Spears have all appeared on the show in the past. Leah Michele, however, is particular excited about working with Hudson.

Michele said:

“I’m so obsessed with her…. She’s one of the greatest comedic actresses right now and I just think she’s so great.”

Of course, Michele is also pretty excited about her other guest star Sarah Jessica Parker. Michele said:

“I really think having Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson come in for our fourth season is so exciting. I think I’m more excited for this season than ever before.”

Kate Hudson, a familiar face to those who love watching romantic comedies, is currently scheduled to appear in a multi-episode guest role on FOX’s hit musical drama “Glee”. According to the NY Daily News, Hudson will portray Cassandra July, a dance instructor at the fictional New York Academy of the Dramatic Arts, where Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) is studying this season. For Michele, working opposite Hudson was apparently quite a thrill.

“I’m so obsessed with [Kate Hudson],” Lea explained to ET Canada in July. “She’s one of the greatest comedic actresses right now and I just think she’s so great.”

Michele’s excitement bubbled over into a photo tweeted by writer and series co-creator Ryan Murphy, who has recently been posting an array of “Glee”-oriented info over the past few weeks. Murphy recently tweeted that one of the first songs tackled during the opening of season four will be “Chasing Pavement” by Adele. That’s sure to make fans of the songstress more than a little happy.

However, Kate Hudson isn’t the only Hollywood A-lister who has signed on for a brief stint on FOX’s insanely popular program. “Sex and the City” alumnus Sarah Jessica Parker is also slated to make an appearance later this season. Like Hudson, her guest spot is rumored to span several episodes. US Weekly reports Parker will play a Vogue journalist who takes an interest in Rachel and Kurt. Beyond this, details are sketchy.

“I really think having Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson come in for our fourth season is so exciting,” Michele told People magazine. “I think I’m more excited for this season than ever before.”

As Amber Riley says her goodbyes to the cast of “Glee “ the hit Fox show will be introducing a few new cast members, as Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker are set to guest star in the fourth season.

Details about the new characters haven’t been announced yet but TV By The Numbers reports that Hudson and Park will both be appearing in at least one episode. Hudson’s character has a six-episode story arc. It isn’t clear how often Sarah Jessica Parker, who will be making her first television appearance since the end of “Sex in the City,” will appear in the fourth season.

The finale of season three will air on May 22nd and will include guest spots for Lindsay Lohan and Perez Hilton. The fourth season will debut this Fall and will show the graduating class of McKinley High as they follow their singing goals outside of high school.

“Glee” has spent its first three seasons in a high school setting and fans have been curious as to how the show will work outside of a high school setting. MTV reports that Fox will be holding its upfront presentation in New York tonight and is expected to answer a few questions about the future of “Glee.”

Fox is also expected to officially confirm that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato will be sitting in the judge’s chairs on “X-Factor.”

According to the New York Daily News, Despite what Goldie Hawn said, Kate Hudson and beau Matthew Bellamy are not engaged, according to a source.

the source said that Hawn and her longtime boyfriend Kurt Russell have been together for years but have never gotten married. Hawn does, however, often refer to Russell as her “husband.” and is probably doing the same to Kate and Matthew.

Hudson was actually away on vacation for the weekend when her Mom gave the interview.  Her and Bellamy were spotted on the beach in Cancun having a dip and cuddling in the sand.

Before they got engaged Kate told In Style what she loved about her man.

“I love that Matthew knows how to express himself,” she said. “He shows his love. He communicates.”

Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy already have a son together. They’re already engaged. And according to Hudson’s mother, Goldie Hawn, they’re already married.

Hudson and Bellamy announced their engagement in April but haven’t said anything else about the wedding. Earlier this week, however, Goldie Hawn, spilled the secret to the U.K.’s ES Magazine.Hawn said:

“When my daughter Kate married an English rock star it didn’t worry me… All that matters is that the relationship is a good one.”

The New York Daily News, however, reports that Hawn may have be using the term “married” loosely. On top of citing an unnamed source who says that the rumor isn’t try. the Daily also points to the fact that Hawn often refers to Kurt Russell as her husband despite the fact that the long term couple have never been married.

Kate Hudson will be making the transition to action star next year when she stars in the new movie “Everly.” Crime Scene Pictures and Anonymous Content announced today that Hudson will be taking on the title role in their new project.

Adam Ripp and Rob Paris, who are financing the movie for Crime Scene Pictures, said:

“When we heard that Kate wanted to make the transition into an action star, we knew we had found our Everly. They physicality and intensity of this role will be transformative for her.”

THR reports that “Everly” will be directed by Joe Lynch. The movie was written by Yale Hannon.

Reuters reports that the movie will take place in a single room. Hudson will play “Everly,” the ex-wife of a mob boss, who has to defend herself from hired hit men. So basically “Home Alone,” but the bad guys will be a lot scarier than Daniel Stern.

Sierra/Affinity will be shopping the project around at the upcoming European Film Market in Berlin.

Bill Hudson, the father who up until now has lived a life of privacy stepped out of the shadows to say that he’s hurt by his famous daughter calling Kurt Russell “dad”.

Kate Hudson had started calling Kurt Russell dad shortly after her mother actress Goldie Hawn began dating him in 1983. Now Bill Hudson tells RadarOnline his thoughts on something that happened nearly three decades ago.

“At first it was okay when everybody was getting along, but there were certain things I didn’t like. I didn’t like that Goldie wanted the kids to call Kurt ‘pa,’”

Hudson lements on, “It was very confusing to the kids, particularly Kate, and that was really painful.”

In a past interview with Vanity Fair Kate Hudson gave a little insight into what it was like with an absentee father and the relationship she has with Russell stating, Kurt is my dad. Kurt is a savior who came into my life. [Bill] was sort of in and out of our lives. I don’t hate him for it. I guess what I feel is frustration and curiosity — like, what was it about me he didn’t want to know?”

However even though Bill Hudson is thankful for Russell’s influence in his Kate and Oliver Hudson’s lives, he still has a different story of what happened. “Kurt has been there for her and I’m happy for that and I think it’s a good thing. Kurt’s a really good guy. What’s more hurtful is Kate saying publicly that I’ve abandoned her because that’s just not true,” Bill said.

“Even though it was hurtful, I was much happier with that from when Goldie and I first broke up. We split because she had an affair with Yves [Renier] who she met on the set of Private Benjamin and he’d be there with my kids and it was just sort of a thing and didn’t seem like it was something that would last, and I didn’t like that.”

So why is Bill talking all of a sudden? He released a book, of course! The book titled Two Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family, documents  his past with Goldie, his relationship with Kate and Oliver, and what it was like to go through his personal family problems in a public light.

However, he claims the book isn’t a trashy tell-all. “The record needs to be set and it needs to come out. I wanted to show that it was a love story between me and Goldie, enough that we had children together, and it just went awry. And it was Oliver and Kate that suffered in the end.”

According to RadarOnline, Bill Hudson, the estranged father of Kate and ex-husband of Hawn, has penned a scathing tell-all entitled “2 Versions: The Other Side of Fame and Family,” which he plans on releasing later this fall.

In addition to dishing on Kate and Goldie, the book, which you can pre-order through Amazon or Barnes & Noble, documents Bill’s ongoing issues with his “movie star” kids and explains “how parents can often become alienated from their children when they don’t have primary custody.”

Bill Hudson – most known for staring in the 70′s musical group, The Hudson Brothers – and Hawn married in 1976 and had Kate and her brother actor Oliver Hudson together, before getting divorced 18 months after Kate’s birth in 1979.

Following the divorce, Goldie married Kurt Russell, who then raised Kate and Oliver.

Though the book’s website claims Hudson desires a “healthy adult relationship” with his estranged children, he certainly isn’t going about it the right way by releasing tell-alls or verbally bashing his kids.

“I love Kate, but I think she has been contrived and destructive with me and with her other brothers and sisters. She has done stuff which is just awful,” Bill, 61, told Radar in a recent interview. “She is a spoiled brat in my eyes and at the end of the day, she should meet her little sister. I should meet my grandchild and she should help her grandmother.”

“I have called Kate and texted her dozens of times begging her to help her grandmother, but she hasn’t responded to me,” Bill continued. “Kate doesn’t have to talk to me and she doesn’t have to give her a dime of her millions. All I want is for her to call and say, ‘Hi grandma’ before it’s too late.”

Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson and partner Allison Bridges are expecting their first child. Robinson used to be married to actress Kate Hudson and is the father of her five-year-old son Ryder.

According to US Magazine, Robinson’s rep confirmed the story, saying that the pair “will welcome their first child in early 2010.”

Hudson and Robinson split up after 6 years of marriage in 2006, with Kate taking up with a range of men since, including Yankee’s player Alex Rodriguez.

Robinson’s 12th album, Before the Frost… Until the Freeze, hit stores last week.

Kate Hudson gave a refreshing (albeit confusing) interview with Cosmopolitan magazine, first stating the unsurprising news that her and ex-husband Chris Robinson are “still friends,” and getting down to the dirt in short time. Yes, she proceeded to say that they’re such good friends that they “basically” live together and that the breakup helped them as a couple.

Erg. First of all, what will her future suitors think of that? They’ll have to be pretty secure with themselves, and I can imagine that there will be a few guys who end up freaking out about it and moving on.

Despite speculation that son Ryder will end up confused because Chris is in his life (?), at least his dad has stuck around– isn’t that what matters?

Kate Hudson’s romance with Lance Armstrong, poor thing, has been under the radar since she broke up with her last flame Owen Wilson. While we were all wondering if it was a rebound– fairly tantalizing subject matter, I might add– Kate revved the gossip mill up yet again when she was seen introducing her kid to Lance on Father’s Day. And she was almost scot-free from the drama until the pictures came out, where she was spotted not with just son Ryder and Lance, but with his brood Luke, Isabelle, and Grace for a NYC brunch.

So I ask you: do you think that was it inappropriate for Kate to bring Ryder together with Lance? According to a recent quiz of celeb-news (and children) lovin’ individuals, it looks like most of us wish the kids had been left out of it for a while longer.

The trouble probably started up after Sean “Diddy” Combs rapped “They call me Puff Daddy. . . he’s back” on the O’Neal McKnight single remix “Check Your Coats.”

As soon as I saw this gem in US Weekly, I knew that I should ride it out for a while. Just as predicted, after we all thought that Sean “Diddy” Combs wanted his name changed back to “Puff Daddy,” his rep has swiftly gone around squashing rumors left and right. Surprised? Probably not, especially if you’ve already had to adapt by calling him Puffy, Diddy, and Sean Jean in the past!

“This is not true. There is no name change,” his rep told US Weekly after the reports of the change circulated.

One thing that really should have been sorted out was his MySpace page, then. If he didn’t want confusion over what the f- he should be called, do you think he should have posted “This is your boy Puff Daddy!!! Yes Puff Daddy“? His rep probably wants to kick him at the moment, and rightly so.

Talk about the perfect way to get ridiculed. Saturday Night Live is going to have a field day with this one.

Kate Hudson wasted no time in finding her rebound man in an overseas romantic fling that (dare I say it?) will probably end up being quite short-lived. The lucky guy? Lance Armstrong, of all people, who just so happens to be friends with her ex-flame Owen Wilson. Ouch. Could she be any more obvious?

Despite the “are they” “aren’t they” rumors swirling about, Kate’s been seen motoring with Lance, hanging at the D&G party, and generally looking like they were up to some basic exercises in backstabbing. Despite what we’ve heard about Owen, I can muster up a little pity for the guy. Some people say that it doesn’t count when you’re on another continent, but I’m sure that hasn’t stopped him from caring!

It looks like Owen Wilson’s not taking any time to recover after splitting up with Kate Hudson! I was more shocked because it seems like they’d been together nonstop, but it was actually just two/three months after their last reconciliation.

If the stories are true, I don’t blame Kate for not putting up with Owen’s sh*t, though: it looks like he’s a freak in bed, into threesomes, and trying to get with every hot chick in sight. We’re talking threesomes with Vince Vaughn, no less. . .

Plus, People mag did released a recent story about Owen getting back into the game right after the breakup:

Wilson [had] been spotted letting loose… on May 11, [when he] dropped by N.Y.C.’s Upstairs with two women. The late-night outing was followed by a visit to Butter the next night, where he chatted up a sexy blonde.

Says a Hudson source: “She feels dumb thinking it was so serious.”

There go the engagement rumors, once and for all! I’m not sure how to approach this subject delicately, but perhaps Owen’s fam & friends should make sure he’s okay. Just in case, well, you know.
