The Susan Boyle comparisons are pretty inevitable, since a dorky, oddly sincere person comes on stage to a laughing crowd only to knock their socks off. But Lin Yu Chun is certainly talented, and even though the song is still as sucky as it was in the early 1990s, the performance is stunning. Lin Yu Chun gets every note spot on, and I’d hazard a guess his performance outstrips what Houston herself is capable of putting on nowadays.

Perhaps Lin Yu Chun will consider heading to Australia to do a performance for all the angry fans who reportedly walked out on Houston’s performance down under back in February?

The Epson EH-Dm3 isn’t your standard karaoke player, this new offering is an all-in-one karaoke machine, projector and MP3 player with plenty of other bells and whistles.

The EH-Dm3 can play from USB devices, HDMI enabled gadgets, PC’s, TV Tuners, MP3 players and even certain digital cameras. The machine also comes equipped with an integrated DVD player and of course a microphone jack.

In terms of sound you’ll probably want to bring your own receiver as it only features 2 x 10w speakers. While the projector outputs at a 3000:1 contrast with a brightness of 2000 lumens.

The player goes on sale in Europe sometime in November for a cost of £579. Kind of pricey, but totally worth listening to off key renditions of songs you liked up until hearing your drunk friends sing them at 2am in your living room. [via SlipperyBrick]

In what turned out to be a bit of karaoke fun sponsored by T-Mobile 13,499 got together in Trafalgar Square, London to sing Hey Jude by the Beatles. Pink made a surprise appearance in the crowd but it was revealed later that she was in the whole thing from the start.
