He is replacing another Brazilian, Ronaldinho, who has been on the cover several times. Kaka will be joined by 17 other iconic soccer players in territory specific packaging.

Kaka will be joined by Wayne Rooney for the sixth consecutive time in the UK. Personally I’m not sure why EA Sports would feature Kaka. I didn’t understand why they would have Ronaldinho last year either. Kaka didn’t really deliver at the World Cup and he has only scored 8 goals in 22 appearances in the Real Madrid squad.

I know Kaka is very well known and that EA Sports probably signed him as he joined Real Madrid. Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo are contracted to Konami and PES (Pro Evolution Soccer), they would be the obvious choice instead. Andres Iniesta, Wesley Sneijder or Xavi aren’t famous enough outside of Europe even though they play for major clubs.

I guess EA Sports were forced to choose between lesser known players.

FIFA 11 is available in stores September 28 in North America and October 1 in Europe and Asia.

Who would you prefer on the cover of FIFA 11?

The 27-year old soccer player Kaka’s $89 million move from AC Milan to Real Madrid has smashed Real Madrid’s previous transfer record of $75 million paid for Zindine Zidane in 2001.

Barcelona did what they could to “warn” Kaka against moving to Real Madrid, but the deal was already sealed at that point. According to Kaka the deal had been in the pipeline for some time.

I wanted this move to be announced sooner. For me it’s a relief that it has been announced now, although I have always be 100 per cent focussed on the national side.

Earlier this year Manchester City offered twice as much for Kaka, but it was mid-season in Italy and Kaka didn’t want to leave mid-season. Now he is moving to Real Madrid to advance his soccer career and save AC Milan’s financial crisis.

Now another chance came up and AC Milan is in a big crisis (financially). For me, the sporting project (at Madrid) is interesting and will be an important boost to continue my career in the highest level.

It doesn’t look like Real Madrid’s shopping spree is stopping with the signing of Kaka. The likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Xabi Alonso, David Villa and Franck Ribery have also been linked to the Spanish capital club who appear to have no cap on their summer spending budget.

“The president (newly re-elected Florentino Perez) is already making contact (with potential signings) and is putting together a competitive team,” said Kaka. “One which will try to once again become champions in Spain and Europe. That’s why I chose Madrid.”

Personally I hope Real Madrid will give Barcelona some serious competition next season.

Securing a star soccer player is a vital part of every presidential campaign in Spanish soccer. Players like Figo, Zidane, Ronaldinho and Kaka is always used when you are running for the most prestigious job in Spain.

However AC Milan aren’t interested in selling Kaka neither to Real Madrid or Manchester City. I would be happier if he stayed in Milan. He is a world class player and I wouldn’t advice him to leave Rossoneri (AC Milan), which is a great club, says Joan Laporta to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Spanish newspaper are certain that Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez has agreed a transfer price with AC Milan worth $ 80M.
