Who better to pose on the cover of the new Guinness World Records 2013 Edition than the world’s shortest man and the world’s shortest woman?

Jyoti Amge and Chandra Bahadur Dangi were brought together by the people at Guinness for an incredible photo shoot featuring two of the shortest people in the world.

Marco Frigatti, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator, said:

“It was an extraordinary moment; they’re both such incredible individuals. Everyone knew this was a special moment, the atmosphere was magical.”

Dangi, a 72-year-old man from Nepalese who stands at just 21.5 inches, said:

 ”I’m very happy that I’m being recognized by Guinness World Records and that my name will be written in a book.  It’s a big thing for my family, my village and my country.  I am very happy.”

Jyoti, an 18-year-old woman from India, is slightly taller at 24.7 inches. According to Guinness, Jyoti is trying to turn her world record into a career in movies and modeling. She’s already starred in a number of Indian films, and, this Septermber, she’ll be traveling on a promotional tour for the Guinness Book Of World Records 2013 Edition.

Jyoti said:

“Since being recognized by Guinness World Records I have been able to visit lots of different countries. I love travelling. I have visited Japan and parts of Europe and now I can’t wait to visit the UK.”

The Guinness Book of World Records was first published in 1955 and has sold over 120 million copies in over 100 countries around the world. The new Guinness World Records 2013 Edition available worldwide on Thursday, September 13.

Big Tiny is a new The Learning Channel (TLC) reality show featuring the smallest known siblings in the entire world. Bridgette “Bri” and Brad Jordan are Guinness Book of World Records holders for their small stature. Bri Jordan is 27-inches-tall and Brad Jordan is slightly taller at 38-inches. The pair of twenty-something siblings will star in Big Tiny which premieres on August 13.

Bri Jordan held the record for the World’s Smallest Woman last year until Jyoti Amge of India turned 18 and stripped Jordan of the title. Amge stands 24-inches tall, the Huffington Post notes. The TLC reality show Big Tiny will follow the Jordan siblings as they go about their daily routine. Brian Jordan is a college cheerleader and a gymnast.

“Bradley especially doesn’t seem to have a problem with being shy. They’ve always been in the public eye,” Bri and Brian’s mother Christy Jordan told the Huffington Post. She also describes the Big Tiny stars as a pair of normal 23-and 21-year-olds.

Bri Jordan weighs 18 pounds and routinely showers in the kitchen sink. Big Tiny viewers will see Jordan doing her weekly grocery store shopping, flexing her muscles as she tosses items into a standard-size grocery store cart. Bri enjoys baking cupcakes and chatting with her friends during the reality show episodes.

Brian Jordan weights 35 pounds. During Big Tiny episodes he will showcase his creative and athletic abilities for reality show viewers when he sings and goes to karate practice. Bri and Brian Jordan are also joined on the TLC reality show by their older sister Brandi and their mother, who is a registered nurse.

For Jyoti Amge’s 18th birthday, the Guinness Book of World Records named her the world’s shortest living woman. Amge is just 62.8 centimeters tall, 6.2 cm shorter than 22-year old American Bridgette Jordan, who has held the title since September 2011.

Jyoti has been the world’s shortest teenager in the Guinness World Records since September 2009. According to Guinness, Amge’s two foot height is due to a form of dwarfism called achondroplasia.

Guinness traveled to Nagpur in India to officially name Agme the shortest living women in the world. Agme said:

 ”It is wonderful to celebrate my 18^th birthday with a new world record, it’s like an added birthday present. I feel grateful to be this size, after all if I weren’t small and had not achieved these world records I might never have been able to visit Japan and Europe, and many other wonderful countries.”

• She weighs just 11 pounds.
• All of her clothes have to be custom made.
• Jyoti has been attending school since the age of four. Besides the unique desk that she sits at, she’s treated like a normal student.
• Jyoti will appear in two Bollywood movies in 2012.
• She will also release an album with Bhangra/rap star Mika Singh next year.

According to Guinness, Jyoti Amge is still a few centimeters taller than the shortest woman in history. Pauline Musters, who lived in the 1800s, measured just 61cm (24in).
