One insider revealed:

“It’s no coincidence that things began to unravel for Johnny and Vanessa when he started working with Angelina on The Tourist last February. Vanessa was absolutely convinced that Johnny slept with Angelina, and her jealousy and suspicions ended up destroying them. Vanessa was against Johnny working with Angelina in the first place. She firmly believed that Angelina stole Brad Pitt away from Jennifer Aniston and felt she’d do the same with Johnny.”

Insiders also say that Vanessa Paradis insisted that a sexy shower scene be removed from the script. They continue by insisting that everyone could see how great Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were getting on:

“Angelina and Johnny were constantly hanging out, cracking each other up.”

Earlier, Vanessa Paradis denied reports of a breakup with Johnny Depp, saying:

“Yes, it’s false. Of course it’s false…. These rumors are the content of those magazines that end up in the fireplace or in the toilets and that’s it.”

Johnny Depp is loved by his fans both male and female the world over, at least that’s the result of the 2012 Harris Interactive’s “Favorite Movie Star” poll which for the second year in a row named Depp as the most liked star.

In being once again named as the top performer Johnny Depp managed to beat out some of today’s biggest stars and a voice from the past who remains one of Hollywood’s most sought after directors.

Among those he beat includes actor/director Clint Eastwood who has had a string of successful directorial debuts over the last decade and who tied for second place in the poll with Denzel Washington. Washington however did manage to get the most votes from Democrats and Moderates.

Also featured on the list were Tom Hanks, John Wayne and the always present George Clooney who’s various relationship may have hurt his placement as a playboy philanderer. Clooney however did win the “mature” category which includes respondents 66-years and older.

On the female side the only female favorite was Sandra Bullock who replaces last years females in Angelina Jolie and Julia Roberts (5th and 6th place in 2011).

Rounding out the top 10 were Harrison Ford, Will Smith and Adam Sandler.

In winning the top price Johnny Depp swept most of the female demographics when age and region were taken into consideration. The biggest surprise however might be that the American expat actually scored the highest among Republicans and Conservatives.

Celebtv.com reports that Johnny Depp and long-time girlfriend Vanessa Paradis may be splitting up amid rumors of both a mid-life crisis and excessive partying by Depp.

Depp, who has been out promoting his film “The Rum Diary”, has been with Paradis for 13 years, but the seemingly happy yet fiercely private couple have reportedly grown apart for the past several months. Rumors of Depp’s flirting and partying during the promotion of his latest film sparked renewed interest in the actor’s private life, with many wondering whether or not he was newly single.

There are no reports or indications that Depp has been unfaithful to Paradis.

Viewing Depp’s hedonistic streak as a mid-life crisis, Paradis reportedly told him that he could come back when he “got it out of his system”.

The rumors of a possible break-up between Depp and Paradis are not entirely new. In May, it was reported that there was a photograph of Depp kissing his publicist, Robin Baum. Paradis dismissed the rumors as untrue, and Depp was reportedly “furious” about the suggestion of infidelity or break-up.

Depp and Paradis have two children together: Lily-Rose Melody Depp, born May 27, 1999, and John “Jack” Christopher Depp III, born April 9, 2002. They are unmarried, and live in Paris.

Currently, this is all still speculative. However, with the rate at which Hollywood marriages tend to expire, you can’t help but cheer for a relationship that seems to really work.

When he’s not busy making multi-million dollar blockbuster movies Johnny Depp can be heard on tour with his indie band “Babybird” and soon he’ll be coming to a hell near you, at least that’s what the Christian Coalition says.

In one of the bands songs Depp and his members sing about Jesus drinking and then getting knocked out on the floor, lyrics that the coalition say will send the groups to the fire laden pits of the devil’s playhouse where they “will burn in hell for this filth.”

In a statement from Focus on the Family they write that the lyrics are a slap in the face to Christians all over the world.

The song “Jesus Stag Night Club” is about a group of men who hire a Jesus Chris look-alike for a stag party and then realize later on that it’s the real Jesus returned to earth.

In the lyrics Jesus shows up with “bloody thorns around his years” and “holes in his hands” from his crucifixion.

For their part the band appears to really care less for what the Christian Coalition says, as member Steven Jones noted:

“Christians go to heaven, sinners go to hell. This is their message of peace,” while adding, “Oh, yes, and gays can eff off, too. It’s a beautiful world, Jesus.”

I couldn’t agree more with Mr. Jones, the Christian Coalition after all is the same group that also condemned the Harry Potter book series, Twilight and anything else that allows people to have a fanciful imagination about the world around them.

Johnny Depp Sings About Jesus, Will Suffer Eternal Damnation In the Flames Of Hell is a post from: The Inquisitr

A handicapped women was admitted to the hospital on Thursday night after Johnny Depp’s hired bodyguards allegedly wrestled her to the ground.

According to Robyn Ecker, 52, she was treating her husband to $600-a-pop Iggy Pop seats at the Palladium in Los Angeles where she was seated next to the Rum Diary star.

Ecker says she was dancing close to the star and apparent got to close to Johnny’s table at which point she was dragged to the ground by his hired body guards.

Ecker goes on to tell TMZ that after she was allowed to get back up from the floor she left the concert with her husband had checked herself into a local hospital to be observed by doctors.

In the meantime law enforcement officer say Robyn appeared to be wasted at the time she was filing her police report and her own assistant confirms that Robyn and her party were all drinking before and during the Iggy Pop concert.

Johnny Depp hasn’t reached out with a comment at this time and given the admission of alcohol being consumed it’s likely this incident will never see the inside of a court room.

“21 Jump Street” is back. Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are teaming up to star in the new movie which is based off of the 1980s TV series starring Johnny Depp.

The NY Daily News reports that Tatum and Hill will play cops who go undercover as high school students to expose a drug ring in the new movie.

Hill and Tatum are definitely taking the remake in a more vulgar and humorous direction. But even though it doesn’t resemble the original, Johnny Depp has agreed to make a cameo in the new movie.

Depp said:

“I went and did my bit as I was hoping to, and it worked out really well. It was really fun. I got to spend some time with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum and the wonderful directors [Phil Lord and Chris Miller]. It was a great experience.”

Back in August of this year, the fate of Disney’s upcoming big-budget movie starring Johnny Depp, The Lone Ranger, was uncertain. Once the budget soared up to the $250 million range, Disney had to put a stop to production in order to trim the hefty budget down to $215 million.

After doing a few cuts here and there to get the budget down, Disney has given the green light for the project to go back into production, Disney announced today. Originally scheduled for a December 21, 2012 release, it’s now said to be due out on May 31, 2013.

Depp and director Gore Verbinski told MTV News that the two were aware that the Lone Ranger‘s $250 million budget was going to be a problem from the start.

“We knew that the budget was going to be huge initially, and we also knew that it was going to be shut down for a while, and it was kind of like we patiently wait — we shave a little bit here, we do a little bit there, they fix it,” he said.

To get the budget down to agreeable levels for Disney, Depp, Verbinski and producer Jerry Bruckheimer had to take a pay cut. Not only that, Disney had to scrap a few CGI-heavy scenes, and an entire train sequence had to be removed.

Depp, who will be playing Tonto in the film, said that he had high hopes that the film would be able to move forward, the Hollywood Reporter reports.

“I like the character,” he said. “I think I have interesting plans for the character, and I think the film itself could be entertaining and very funny. But also I like the idea of having the opportunity to make fun of the idea of the Indian as a sidekick — which has always been [the case] throughout the history of Hollywood, the Native American has always been a second-class, third-class, fourth-class citizen, and I don’t see Tonto that way at all. So it’s an opportunity for me to salute Native Americans.”

Being photographed was a “weird” experience, Depp told the November issue of Vanity Fair, adding “Well, you just feel like you’re being raped somehow.” And lo, what became a simple promotional interview for his new film The Rum Diary took on a life of its own.

After an excerpt was released Tuesday, several groups including RAINN, the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network, condemned Depp for his words, stating, “while photos may feel at times intrusive, being photographed in no way compares to rape — a violent crime which affects another American every two minutes.”

The 48-year-old actor followed up immediately with an apologetic statement:

“I am truly sorry for offending anyone in any way. I never meant to. It was a poor choice of words on my part in an effort to explain a feeling. I understand there is no comparison and I am very regretful. In an effort to correct my lack of judgment, please accept my heartfelt apology.”

RAINN contacted the Ministry of Gossip to say it “appreciates and accepts Johnny Depp’s heartfelt apology. We hope to work with him to provide hope to victims of rape and make sure they get the help they deserve.”

Depp often comes across to me as a decent and articulate guy, but seems to have chosen a poor way of expressing himself on this occasion.

Earlier this month, a few paparazzi photos of Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins were leaked on the internet. Depp was shown wearing big glasses and had his face painted a ghostly white. The image made a lot of people cringe as Tim Burton and Depp were accused of ruining the classic look of Barnabas Collins. Well, the first official photo of the Dark Shadows cast has been released and Johnny Depp doesn’t look nearly as strange as he did in the leaked photos.

In fact, Burton and Depp don’t seem to deviate too much from Jonathan Fridd’s original Barnabas Collins costume. Here’s a picture of the original cast.

Burton told Entertainment Weekly:

“I remember seeing a group photograph of the cast of the original series. For me it captured the weird Dark Shadows vibe in a single image. I had a brief window of opportunity to have our cast present at the same time, the day before principle photography began. We decided to stage a similar picture instead of rehearsing, to see if we captured the Dark Shadows feeling.”

Burton did a pretty good job of capturing the “Dark Shadows feeling.” It’s definitely a step up from the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory look that the previous images suggested.

Depp and Burton are both self-professed fanatics of the original gothic soap opera. Before shooting, Depp said:

“What Jonathan Frid did with that character and that classic look he created… I find it very difficult to stray very far from that. I think it’s going to be somewhere in that arena, with maybe just a couple of different touches here and there.”

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are teaming up once again to remake the 1960s gothic soap opera, “Dark Shadows.” Depp, who is playing the vampire Barnabas Collins, said before filming that his character’s look wouldn’t be much different from the original Barnabas. But judging by a few photos that were recently leaked from the “Dark Shadows” set, Burton is going in a slightly different direction.

As you can see, Depp’s Barnabas is a little more… caked in makeup than the original. But what did you expect? It’s a Tim Burton movie.

“Dark Shadows” premiered on ABC in 1966 and ran for 1,255 episodes. The strange soap opera blended gothic elements with romance, time travel, ghost stories and general weirdness, which is probably why Depp was such a big fan of the original show.

Depp, who will be filling the shoes of Jonathan Frid, the original Barnabas, in the “Dark Shadows” remake, said:

“For me, even the conversations I’ve had with Tim, what Jonathan Frid did with that character and that classic look he created, I find it very difficult to stray very far from that. I think it’s going to be somewhere in that arena, with maybe just a couple of different touches here and there.”

Burton’s view on “Dark Shadows” was a little bit different. Burton said that he wouldn’t be interested in doing the remake unless he was able to change it and make it his own. Burton told MTV News:

“For me, it’s about trying to go back to the original drawings and kind of capture that spirit a little bit more of what the drawings are. It feels different even though it’s a similar story, but we’re kind of expanding it a bit.”

Johnny Depp picked up a guitar and jammed along with Alice Cooper during an intimate show at London’s 100 Club on Oxford Street this week and the entire scene was caught on video.

It was believed that guitar legend Slash would take to the stage to perform “Welcome To My Nightmare 2″ when Johnny appeared instead and played along.

Before the performance Cooper teased Depp about his Keith Richards persona which he uses to portray Captain Jack Sparrow in the Disney series Pirates Of The Caribbean.

The audio appears to have been shot on a smartphone so it’s not the best for listening but here’s the footage for anyone who wants to take a peek.

As expected Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides took the top spot at the box office this weekend earning $90 million in domestic sales.

The Johnny Depp led movie also took in an additional $256.3 million overseas, a record breaking international release that helped the $250 million movie bring in $346.4 million worldwide, making the movie the fourth biggest worldwide opening weekend flick of all time.

While the numbers are impressive Disney was projecting closer to $100 million in the U.S. and the movie was beat out by the last two Pirates movies which included $135.6 million for Dead Man’s Chest and $114.7 million for At World’s End.

Trailing far behind was last weeks opener Bridesmaids which took in $21.1 million for a total take of $58.9 million, not bad for a movie that only cost $32.5 million to produce.

Also holding strong was Thor which despite less than the movies $150 million budget being made back domestically has managed to earn $383 million worldwide.

I have always liked Johnny Depp and consider him one of the best actors in the business, however unlike a lot of the rest of the “Hollywood” crowd he seems to like being a real person. The kind of person who loves nothing better than surprising a bunch of school kids for no other reason than it was something special he could do for them.

My good friend Sean P. Aune has the whole story but it boils down to the little visit he made to Meridian primary school to try and head off a class led mutiny against their teacher.

Last week, Johnny Depp, arguably one of the biggest movie stars in the world right now, paid an unannounced visit to Meridian primary school after he received a letter from nine-year-old Beatrice Delap.  Ms. Delap had written to “Jack Sparrow” to ask for his help in running a mutiny against the school’s teachers, and since he was nearby filming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, he decided to stop by to tell her in person to say it was a bad idea.

Actually, excuse me, Mr. Depp didn’t come by, but Capt. Jack Sparrow did.

Calling the school only ten minutes before he arrived,  Capt. Sparrow along with a few other assorted pirates showed up a the school looking for Ms. Delap, where he showed he had her letter with him and chatted with other students.  Everyone then went to the auditorium for a quickly arranged assembly, and Capt. Sparrow entertained the kids for 15 minutes, never once turning into Johnny Depp.

Now tell me that isn’t just the coolest thing that could happen to a bunch of kids, but even better – there’s a video of the visit to go along with the story.

Johnny Depp, currently in the thick of press and promotions for his new Tim Burton movie Alice in Wonderland, has taken a break from the movie release circuit to help three young men many believe are wrongly imprisoned for a brutal murder in Tennessee.

Damien Echols, Jesse Misskelley and Jason Baldwin were teenagers at the time of the murders, and are thought by many to have been tried and convicted for what were admittedly dodgy tastes in music, dress and demeanor. Ever mounting evidence in the case suggests that the three boys were easy targets, and that the genuinely responsible party for the gruesome deaths of the three boys has walked free since the 1993 murders. A key figure in the boys’ arrests has recanted her story entirely and alleges that police forced her to provide false leads. Even the father of one of the dead boys has stated that he has “no doubt” the boys are innocent and wrongly imprisoned. Echols remains on death row for the crime.

Depp will appear on the CBS show 48 Hours Mystery to defend the men who have spent the better part of two decades in jail for the crime. In a preview segment, Depp stated:

“I firmly believe Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley are totally innocent. It was a need for swift justice to placate the community,” Depp says. “Damien Echols is on death row to be killed by lethal injection.”

Depp is not the only celebrity supporter of Echols, Misskelley and Baldwin. Henry Rollins, Marilyn Manson, Winona Ryder, Eddie Vedder, the Dixie Chicks and Demi Lovato have all spoken out in an attempt to draw attention to the case. A waiter at a Chicago steakhouse received quite a surprise earlier this week when actor Johnny Depp left him a $4000 tip.

Waiter Mohammed A. Sekhani told Radar Online “He had visited our restaurant several times before while he was filming Public Enemies and he promised me that he would return after the premiere.”

“He also ordered some $500 bottles of Italian wine and he was in good spirits throughout the evening chatting with Mr. Mann and Miss Cotillard,” Sekhani said. “I have worked with a lot of stars like Sean Connery and Robert De Niro, but Johnny Depp is my favorite. He is a very soft spoken guy who is very charming and sweet – when I wait for him he doesn’t like to be too fussed over and is not in any way demanding.”

I think its fair to say that Johnny Depp = nice guy in real life.

The first sneak peek look of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland is out.

Depp once again undergoes the serious makeup treatment to play the role.

The movie will incorporate many characters and narrative elements from Carroll’s books but is essentially a new story, Alice’s return to Wonderland. Tim Burton states that “given what this story is, if Alice had this adventure as a little girl and now she’s going back all these years later, it’s a bit overgrown…[and there’s] a slightly haunted quality to Wonderland, even though it’s got strong elements of color.” She is now 17 years old and someone “who doesn’t quite fit into Victorian society and structure.” This journey “becomes a rite of passage as she discovers her voice and herself.”

Alice in Wonderland is due out March 2010.

A ‘Public Enemies Trailer‘ starring Johnny Depp has been released online. The Trailer is an assault scene from the movie, due out on July 1st. The movie, Public Enemies, is based on the book ‘Public Enemies: America’s Greatest Crime Wave and the birth of the FBI’.

In the movie, Johnny Depp plays a gangster from the 1930s, John Dillinger. He is relentlessly persued by FBI agent Melvin Pervis, played by Christian Bale.
