The first lady his making her way around the talk show circuit, challenging various hosts to healthy challenges. Yesterday she convinced Jay Leno to try some vegetables and today she challenged Ellen to a push-up contest on “The Ellen Degeneres” show.

After talking about President Obama’s socks, Ellen and Michelle got down next to the couches to do some push-ups.

Michelle Obama has made it her top priority to change the way America eats. Her “Let’s Move” campaign encourages kids to eat healthy and to get outdoors. Last year, the “Let’s Move” capaign set a world record for most people to do jumping jacks at one time.

Here’s the video of Ellen and Michelle doing push-ups. Michelle won the competition, but it looks like Ellen had a little better form.

Are you impressed with Michelle’s push-up abilities? The First Lady is definitely in good shape but she doesn’t hold a candle to Jon Stewart.

On “The Daily Show” last week, Stewart did about 40 push-ups during a contest with journalist Paula Broadwell. Broadwell won, by twenty push-ups, and Stewart agreed to donate $20,000 to the charity Team Red White and Blue.

Michelle Obama has made it her first priority as the first lady to make America a healthier place. Last night on The Tonight Show she continued her crusade by convincing Jay Leno to add a few more vegetables to his daily meals.

Yahoo! reports that Leno is a notorious unhealthy eater. The talk show host once told a magazine that he hasn’t eaten vegetable since 1969 and that the last time he had an apple was in 1984.

Michelle eased Leno into his first vegetable by giving him a piece of pizza.

Michelle said:

“I have a challenge for you. It’s a veggie pizza. This is a good way for people of your… ilk, to incorporate vegetables into their diet.”

Michelle also talked about her “gorgeous” husband, his grey hair, and his newly discovered singing talents.

Michelle said:

“He’s definitely aging. But he’s gorgeous… He does have a beautiful voice, and he sings to me all the time.”

Finally, Jay Leno and Michelle talked about the upcoming election.

“I don’t worry too much about it now. Once they pick a candidate I’ll start paying more attention.”

Jay Leno has used his platform as the host of The Tonight Show on NBC to poke fun at just about every religion, politician, celebrity and public figure known to man but apparently a joke regarding the Sikh religion of India has put him in hot water or more specifically court.

During a recent segment on his talk show Jay Leno was poking fun at members of the Republican party when he basically said that rich politicians such as Mitt Romney spend their summers in a solid gold palace. Following the jokes punchline a picture of India’s Harmandir Sahib (aka the Golden Temple of Amritar) was shown. The building is considered by the Sikh people to be one of the most holy spots in the world.

In responding to the joke a Sikh follower in Bakersfield, California filed a lawsuit against Jay Leno claiming libel. Apparently Dr. Randeep Dhillon believes that the joke has caused some unseen and deep hatred and ridicule of his religion.

In a funny moment in the court filing Dr. Dhillon says the Romney joke:

“Falsely portrays the holiest place in the Sikh religion as a vacation resort owned by a non-Sikh”

Randeep is suing for general and punitive damages. Ironically his lawsuit regarding the ridicule of his religion is probably going to do more damage to the Sikh faith and what people think of the religion then the joke told by Jay Leno.

Given that the punchline was an obvious joke the case is likely to stall before it ever reaches trial.

Robert Downey Jr. told talk show host Jay Leno on Monday that his wife wouldn’t let him discuss specifics about their soon-t0-be born child, telling Leno “I can’t say a word” and joking that he’s “not permitted to discuss” the sex of the baby who is due in February. Apparently that secrecy wasn’t a long lasting promise.

Seconds after shrouding wife Susan’s pregnancy in mystery he then blurted out that they were having a baby boy and then the 46-year-old actorsaid “S–. I did it.”

Joking with the talk show host Downey then revealed that his pregnancy isn’t as hard on Susan as it has been on him:

“I think actually it’s been tougher on me,” he joked. “Just the hormones and the moods stuff and the nausea, and the whole thing.”

Robert Downey Jr. then said he plans to be a very involved father before putting on a prosthetic breastfeeding device and asking the audience “Who’s first? I need some practice.”

Robert has an 18-year-old son named Indio with ex-wife Deborah Falconer.

Jay Leno‘s extensive car collection includes Lamborghinis, Porsches, Audis and all sorts of other cars that many of us could only dream to own. But what does a man who owns such a collection use for his work commute? That would be the Chevrolet Volt, apparently.

Considering what Leno told the New York Times, we can’t say we blame him, either. Leno said that in the just under a year’s time since he started driving his Volt, he hasn’t had to fill up the tank a single time. In fact, he’s only used less than half of the 9.3 gallon tank.

“It’s my daily driver,” he said. “It really is. I commute in it to work every day. My commute, and all my other daily running around, totals less than 35 miles.”

Chevrolet claims that the Volt can run up to 40 miles on electric power alone before it has to start taking in gasoline. Considering that Leno’s commute to work is less than 35 miles, he rarely ever has to use any of the gasoline.

“You get 40 miles free, as they say,” Leno said. “Because of the way I drive it, it almost never kicks into gasoline mode.”

Last night, Michele Bachmann appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno, and the amiable big-chinned comedian didn’t play nice with the Republican presidential candidate. Jay Leno pressed the GOP candidate on her recent comments about the HPV vaccination as well as her husband’s practice to cure homosexuals.

Earlier this week, Bachmann said that the HPV vaccination can cause mental retardation. The absurd comment prompted late night comedians like Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert to ridicule the GOP candidate. A group of professors even got together to offer Bachmann some big cash if she could offer any sort of proof to support her comment.

Last night on “The Tonight Show,” Bachmann explained her comment. Bachmann told Jay:

 ”"It’s something that could potentially have dangerous side effects… I wasn’t speaking as a doctor, I wasn’t speaking as a scientist, I was just relating what this woman said.”

Leno also asked Bachmann about her stance on gay marriage and if she really thought it was possible to “pray the gay away.”

Bachmann tried to deflect, saying:

“When I heard that I really thought it was like kind of a mid-life crisis line, like, ‘Pray away the gray.’”

TMZ claims that Jay Leno’s 10:00 PM show will go on hiatus February 1, with Leno taking back his 11:30p.m. time slot after the Winter Olympics. The report notes though that the future of Conan is unclear: he may be dumped or moved to a midnight slot.

Earlier reports from other sites claimed that Leno was being dumped altogether following poor ratings for his 10p.m. show, rumors that NBC has denied.

A report from the Wall Street Journal noted sources within the network saying that NBC Universal is re-evaluating the future of “The Jay Leno Show,” adding some weight to the reports that changes are coming in one form or another.

Disgraced music douche Kanye West continues to operate in damage control mode after interrupting Taylor Swift at the VMA’s, grovelling for forgiveness on Monday night’s Jay Leno show.

West, who was booked to perform on the show alongside Jay-Z, Rihanna, was thanked by Leno for appearing “in light of all the things that have been going on.” West responded that “it’s been extremely difficult…just dealing with the fact that I hurt someone or took something away, you know, from a talented artist or anyone.”

Not content to simply say “I was wrong,” Kanye still tried to justify his actions, going on to say “I only wanted to help
people. My entire life, I’ve only wanted to give and do something that I felt was right.”

In a moment of light banter, Leno asked West “So when did you know you were wrong? Was it afterwards? as you were doing it? When did it strike you, “Uh-oh”?” to which West replied “As soon as I gave the mic back to her and she didn’t keep going.

West though confessed that he needed a break, saying that “I need to, after this, take some time off and just analyze how I’m going to make it through the rest of this life, how I’m going to improve. Because I am a celebrity, and that’s something I have to deal with. And if there’s anything I could do to help Taylor in the future or help anyone, I’d like — you know, I want to live this thing. It’s hard sometimes.”

Jay Leno has been released from hospital and is expected to be back at work on Monday.

Jay Leno was hospitalized at Providence St. Joseph Medical Center Thursday where he spent the night for “precautionary reasons” but was released early Friday. He checked himself into the hospital after going to work and complaining of not feeling well. Details of his illness have not been officially released, but sources close to 58 year old Leno say the “Tonight Show” host told friends he was probably suffering from food poisoning.

NBC, Jay Leno’s employer, released this statement earlier:

“We [are] happy to say that Jay Leno is feeling much better and has been released from the hospital. He’s anxious to return to work on Monday.”

With this Swine Flu outbreak in the U.S. right now, we’re glad Jay Leno is ok.

Tonight Show host Jay Leno has been hospitalized.

NBC confirmed the news, saying that Leno had checked himself into the Burbank, California hospital because “he wasn’t feeling well.” Taping for tonight’s show was canceled, and NBC will instead air a repeat.

Some reports are suggesting that Leno may be suffering from food poisoning, although NBC reps said this wasn’t the case. The same reps said that Leno is “in good spirits” and had been joking with staff at the hospital.

The missing part is when do people check themselves into hospital because they “aren’t feeling well?” Sounds like Leno could have other issues, perhaps not related to this illness, but issues that would prompt a hospital visit versus a simple visit to a local doctor.

The Jay Leno appearance went mostly well. Obama cracked some jokes, spoke seriously about the economy, and defended Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner. But Obama without a teleprompter always shortens the odds of a mistake, like last year when he cracked a joke about Nancy Reagan and seances. And true to form he did, comparing his Ten-Pin Bowling skills to the Special Olympics.

Q Now, are they going to put a basketball — I imagine the bowling alley has been just burned and closed down.

THE PRESIDENT: No, no. I have been practicing all — (laughter.)

Q Really? Really?

THE PRESIDENT: I bowled a 129. (Laughter and applause.)

Q No, that’s very good. Yes. That’s very good, Mr. President.

THE PRESIDENT: It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something. (Laughter.)

Q No, that’s very good.

THE PRESIDENT: No, listen, I’m making progress on the bowling, yes.

Conservative blogs are naturally condemning the comments as insensitive, and the White House issued a statement apologizing for the remark even before the interview went to air. No quotes yet from disability groups, but you can guess what they will be.
