Joseph “Joe” Jackson, the controversial patriarch of the Jackson family and infamous manager of the Jackson 5, has suffered a stroke, according to several reports and confirmed by FOX411′s Pop Tarts celebrity column.

Someone close to the family confirmed the news to the news outlet.

“He’s in ‘serious’ condition. Joe has been struggling with his health a lot over the past three or four months,” said the source. “The good thing is that he was taken immediately to the hospital as he was with a couple of people at the time.”

Jackson’s condition is the subject of conflicting reports. CNN says that Jackson is being treated at a Las Vegas hospital after suffering a “mild” stroke, “is in very good spirits,” and expects to be sent home Friday. Like the Fox report, CNN‘s source asked not to be named. Calls to the family reps by E! were not immediately returned.

Jackson has suffered two other “mild” strokes over the past five years. He is 83-years-old. Despite his age, he remains active in developing and promoting several businesses and products.

He is still married to Jackson matriarch Katherine Jackson, though they live separately. He has a home in Las Vegas, where he is presumably being treated, and his wife lives in Calabasas, California, with Michael Jackson’s three children.

UPDATE: According to former attorney and family friend Brian Oxman, Jackson is recovering just fine. “He was doing well and says he’s feeling OK,” Oxman said. “He was talking fine,” Oxman added. “He sounded excellent to me.”

Jermaine Jacksun, the brother of the late Michael Jackson, is changing his last name. Jermaine recently petitioned the court to change his last name to “Jacksun.”

The famed Jackson 5 singer filed the name change petition with the L.A. County Superior Court on Tuesday.

According to the Jackson brother, he is petitioning for the last name change for “artistic reasons,” although what those reasons may be he did not specify.

A hearing has been scheduled to approve the name at which time Jermaine will go in front of a judge.

Given his public persona and leaving out any other strange legal situations that might pop up, the name change is likely to be approved.

Before his name can legally be changed, Jermaine Jackson will need to announced several times over the next couple months that his name change has been requested. Public statements for name changes include having the petitioner’s name printed in a local publication several times.

Jermaine has not yet publicly revealed why he has chosen to change his name.

At least this time around, the famous person in question isn’t going with a crazy name like Metta World Peace or OchoCinco.

Given the Jackson family’s strange and sorted past, I’m personally surprised that none of the brothers had attempted such a stunt in the past.

The Jackson family has always been in the limelight, but it used to be for musical talents more than for family feuds over the late King of Pop’s will or custody issues. While all the whirlwind has no doubt been a challenge for Michael Jackson’s children — best known as Prince, Paris, and Blanket — Paris at least is focusing her efforts on remembering her father rather than on current family affairs.

Yahoo reports that the 14-year old Paris Jackson has created quite the large collage of images of her father, at the center of which is a large black and white photo of Michael, taken many years before his death. Paris Jackson posted the shrine (seen above) on Twitter.

Paris Jackson entered the public sphere at her father’s funeral in 2009, causing many a teary eye as she said, ”Ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you could ever imagine … I just wanted to say I love him … so much.”

Clearly time has only made the heart grow fonder as Paris Jackson tweeted her thoughts for anyone who thought her shrine to her father’s memory was too over the top.

“Someone commented on my pic saying “obsessed much?” yeaa u better believe it .. a whole wall of his pics is the LEAST i could do #dedication,” she wrote.

Paris Jackson told the Global Christian Post that the shrine took more than three hours to put together. The collage of photos is on display in her room and appears to be above her bed where she can see it any time.

“I just remember something and I smile,” she said.

Paris Jackson and company made headlines recently after a confrontation with family members of the whereabouts of her grandmother and guardian Katherine Jackson. All turned out alright though as it turned out Katherine was vacationing in Arizona.

Jackson family members have spoken out against what they believe is a negative media campaign aimed at family members, one that is being waged by the men who control the estate of Michael Jackson.

Janet Jackson and two of her siblings decried what they believed is a “media campaign” against the family, the Los Angeles Times reported. Along with her brother Randy and sister Rebbie, Janet Jackson issued a statement that accused the executors of Michael’s will of trying to split the family apart in an attempt to distract them from questions about the legitimacy of the will.

“The negative media campaign generated by the executors and their agents has been relentless,” wrote Blair G. Brown, attorney for Janet Jackson.

The Jackson family has been the subject of many bizarre media accounts over the past few weeks. There were allegations that the siblings were holding their 82-year-old mother against her will in Arizona, which resulted in a new custody arrangement in which the family matriarch shares guardianship of Michael Jackson’s three children.

Brown said the questions about the will need to be heard, and that the Jackson family siblings aren’t motivated by money in bringing the questions to light.

“They stand to gain nothing financially by a finding that the will is invalid,” Brown wrote. “What will be gained…is that the executors will be replaced and the estate and the guardianship will be managed in a manner that is in the best interest of the children, which is what Michael wanted.”

The Jackson family siblings claim the will is a fake, and that Michael Jackson was actually out of town on the day it appears he signed the will.

The executors, John Branca and John McClain, did not comment on the Jackson family’s allegations, the Associated Press reported. But they had already released a statement several weeks ago saying that questions about the will’s validity “were thoroughly and completely debunked two years ago when a challenge was rejected by the Los Angeles County Superior Court, the California Court of Appeals and, finally, the California Supreme Court.”

Jermaine Jackson called for peace Wednesday in the Jackson family feud that has torn apart his family over the past few weeks. He stated that matters regarding his mother’s care and late Michael’s estate should be handled privately, adding that he regrets the whole situation.

In a statement provided to the Associated Press, Jermaine talked about Katherine Jackson’s spa-trip, resulting in a “missing persons” report, as well as the ugly confrontation at his mother’s home before she was stripped of guardianship duties over Michael’s children by a judge. “Enough has become enough,” Jermaine wrote.

“Yesterday, I had a phone call with my son Jaafar that broke my heart. He asked, ‘Is it true that we cannot visit grandmother’s house as a family anymore?’” Jermaine said. “After much soul-searching, it is clearly time for us to live by Michael’s words about love not war. In this spirit, I offer this statement by way of extending an olive-branch. Accordingly, I rescind my signature from the letter which was sent to the estate, and which should never have gone public.”

Jermaine said that he still has “deep reservations about many issues involved the estate” and “will continue to bring scrutiny and a resolute voice wherever we have cause for concern,” reports E!Online. Additionally, Jermaine highlighted a need to keep the Jackson family drama out of the public eye, and to settle it privately between the individuals concerned.

“Whatever the tabloid and online misrepresentations have led people to believe, my primary concern has only ever been rooted in the welfare of our mother in the environment where she lives,” he says. “No one outside has a clue about the stresses and pressures she has been under long before recent events and I, like everyone in the family, adore the ground she walks on.”

He also stated that the situation regarding Katherine Jackson’s disappearance was blown out of proportion, and that there was never any attempt to prevent Katherine from having a relationship with her grandchildren, reports CNN.

“Mistakes have been made and irrational things have been said on both sides in a highly-charged emotional environment,” he concluded. “It is time for us all to draw a line in the same and move towards peace, cooperation, love and healing. I truly hope that we can find it in our heats to do so. Because above and beyond anything else, what matters…is family.”

Let’s hope that Jermaine and the Jackson family can settle their differences and make those words count!

Paris Jackson may not be able to turn to her late father, Michael Jackson, for guidance anymore, but she can still turn to his music for solace.

The 14-year-old girl has been stuck in the middle of a hectic, and sometimes violent, battle between  her grandmother, Katherine Jackson, her aunt, Janet Jackson, and the rest of her father’s siblings.

Paris claims that her aunts and uncles are purposely keeping her from contacting her grandmother. Rumors even circulated last week that Katherine Jackson had been kidnapped by Janet Jackson and her siblings.

According to Randy Jackson, Katherine was taken to a hospital in California and spent last week resting with her family. Randy said that Katherine is now on her way back home and that she was in “much better health.”

The turmoil inside the Jackson family has to do with guardianship issues regarding Paris, Prince, and Blanket, as well as the division of Michael Jackson’s estate. Janet and her siblings claim that the will, which left Michael’s estate to his mother, was fraudulent.

According to ABC, a court battle over Michael’s estate and the legal custody of his children is imminent.

While the Jackson family fights over the legal issues surrounding Michael Jackson’s death, Paris Jackson is looking for a stable figure in her life.

Police were called to Katherine Jackson’s home in Calabasas, California yesterday afternoon after several members of the Jackson family were involved in a physical altercation over Michael’s children, Paris, Blanket, and Prince.

It’s unclear what sparked the fight but judging by recent events (Katherine Jackson went missing last week, Janet Jackson is unhappy with Paris starring in a new film) it looks like the altercation has to do with the children’s relationship with their grandmother… That and the King of Pop’s $1 billion estate. 

Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore did not name the adults involved in the altercation but did say that the children were not involved in the fight.

According to MSNBC, the fight was between two adult Jackson family members. No arrests were made but Whitmore said that the case remains under investigation and battery charges could be filed.

Whitmore said:

“Deputies determined that a physical altercation had occurred of misdemeanor battery. It involved members of the Jackson family. A report was taken. No arrests were made, and the investigation is ongoing.”

Rumors circulated over the weekend that Katherine Jackson was kidnapped by several members of the Jackson family. Jermaine Jackson, however, said that the drama was all made-up and that Katherine was just spending time with family out-of-state.

Jermaine said that the Sheriff’s Department had “officially dropped the case that never was, confirming Mother is with family and ending this farcical false alarm.”

Katherine has been “found” but according to Paris’ Twitter feed she still hasn’t contacted her grandchildren.

Katherine Jackson was reported missing by family members late Saturday evening. Michael Jackson’s heirs have reportedly been embroiled in a heated estate dispute with the executors of his will in previous weeks. A nephew Trent Jackson,  filed a missing person’s report with Los Angeles law enforcement officers after Katherine Jackson’s grandchildren also noted being unable to reach her for more than a week, TMZ reports.

Earlier this week as concerns over Katherine Jackson’s whereabouts were raised, son Jermaine Jackson tweeted his mother was with him in Arizona, “resting up on doctor’s orders.” In contrast with Jermaine Jackson’s twitter post, Paris Jackson, Michael Jackson’s daughter, tweeted to confirm that her grandmother was indeed missing. She implored the public to alert the authorities if they saw Katherine Jackson. Paris Jackson also tweeted her concerns over the medical care Katherine Jackson was receiving.

CNN interview excerpts republished by Fox News report that Katherine Jackson’s attorney Sandra Ribera note the elderly woman has never gone more than a day without speaking to her grandchildren. As previously reported on Inquisitr, the Jackson family has been feuding with the executors of Michael Jackson’s will. Jermaine, Janet, Randy and Tito are calling for Michael Jackson’s executors to “resign from their positions.”

Michael Jackson’s siblings claim the executors of his estate “forged” Michael’s signature on the will which allegedly esssentially cuts them out  of his estate, The New York Daily News reports. Katherine flew to Albuquerque with oldest daughter Rebbie for a Jackson Brothers concert on July 15.

Everytime Paris tried to reach Katherine Jackson by phone after the flight, she was allegedly told “she could not speak to her,” according to statements by Ribera republished by the New York Daily News.

A letter “leaked” onto the Internet allegedly penned by Janet Jackson and her brothers Jermaine, Randy and Tito claim that executors John McClain and John Branca have “taken advantage of the family” and stressed out mother Katherine Jackson out to the degree that she suffered a “mini-stroke,” according to TMZ.

Paris, 14, and her uncle Randy Jackson were battling publicly over the execution of Michael’s will before Katherine Jackson went missing. Paris Jackson tweeted her opinion of her grandmother Katherine Jackson’s health. The teen maintains the “rumor” about a stress-induced min-stroke is false and her grandmother was completely fine.

Michael Jackson’s daughter also tweeted a message directly to Randy Jackson sharing how much she did not appreciated him telling people things that are not true, in her opinion. TMZ also reports the tweets have now been removed from Paris’ account. LAPD is now actively searching for Katherine Jackson and attempting to confirm the last time each of her family members have spoken with the Jackson matriarch.

An unidentified young man sitting front and center with the Jackson family at Michael’s Staples Center memorial is creating a stir with speculation that he may be the singer’s Norwegian “love child”

The 25-year-old man, Omer Bhatti, is reportedly seeking DNA tests to discern his parentage after both of his parents refused to confirm or deny the suspicions. British newspaper The Sun alleges Jackson disclosed to friends that Omer is indeed his biological son, resulting from a “one night stand” in the 1980s. His mother and father were employed by Jackson as a driver and a nanny respectively. Omer’s mother responded cryptically to the allegations, saying:

“He was the King of Pop. But for us he was so much more.”

His father was quoted as saying:

“Make what you like. I don’t want to discuss anything.”

Media outlets are indeed making what they like of the story, feverishly pointing out a strong resemblance between Omer Bhatti and Jackson’s youngest son, Blanket. However, the same media outlets have been alleging up until now that Jackson’s three known children are not biologically his, so make of that what you will.

Omer remained steadfast in supporting his possible-father through all his trials and tribulations, telling an interviewer in 2008:

“Loyalty is the most important thing for me. I have contact with Michael, and I think my loyalty to him is the reason we still have our contact. He is an unbelievably good human being.”

Michael Jackson’s family have released an official statement in response to his death Thursday. Full text as follows:

In one of the darkest moments of our lives we find it hard to find the words appropriate to this sudden tragedy we all had to encounter. Our beloved son, brother and father of three children has gone so unexpectedly, in such a tragic way and much too soon. It leaves us, his family, speechless and devastated to a point, where communication with the outside world seems almost impossible at times.

We miss Michael endlessly, our pain cannot be described in words. But Michael would not want us to give up now. So we want to thank all of his faithful supporters and loyal fans worldwide, you – who Michael loved so much. Please do not despair, because Michael will continue to live on in each and every one of you. Continue to spread his message, because that is what he would want you to do. Carry on, so his legacy will live forever.

In addition, Joseph Jackson wishes to personally convey: “My grandchildren are deeply moved by all the love and support you have shown for them and their father, Michael Jackson.”
