Did you enjoy Iron Man 2? If so, you’re probably not Mickey Rourke.

Speaking to Coming Soon, the 59-year-old actor laid into Iron Man creator Marvel, accusing the company of pushing Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau to include “a one-dimensional villain.” Full Rourke rant ahead:

“I try to find the moments where [the villain is] not that cliched, evil bad guy and it’s a big fight. I had it on ‘Iron Man’ and they won. It was going to work for Marvel and them breaking [Jon] Favreau’s balls and wanting just a one-dimensional villain. The performance and all the things that I tried to bring to it end up on the f—ing floor. That can cause you not to care as much. To not to want to put that effort in to try and make it an intelligent bad guy or a bad guy who is justified in what his reasons are.”

Does he have a point, People Who Have Seen Iron Man 2? (I’m yet to see the film.)

In other Rourke news, the actor is still uncertain about whether he’ll return for Sin City 2. News emerged last week that the follow-up to 2005′s Sin City has been written and includes the character of Marv, whom Rourke played in the first film. Will he be retaining the role? Well, it would help if there was less make-up involved …

“It depends. It depends on how bad they want me. You feel me? I did [like the character], but I’m claustrophobic, so the the hours of makeup — You have to keep it on for about 13 or 14 hours a day. It’s latex and glue and that stuff that gets my eyes all red…”

For me, Rourke’s involvement seems sort of vital. How about you, reader?

Mickey Rourke: Marvel Ruined Iron Man 2 is a post from: The Inquisitr

The LG Ally promises to deliver quick functionality with a sleek design and Google Android capabilities and now we have an official release day, May 20th.

While no carrier was announced during the companies press release, Verizon is largely expected to receive the device in CDMA form and will apparently come with a ton of Iron Man 2 tie-in content, including an augmented reality type application.

Little else is known at this time other than the fact that it’s a full QWERTY device with a touchscreen

The official trailer for Iron Man 2 debuted today and it’s one trailer that was definitely worth the wait. With an even cockier than normal and more destructive Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and a script that doesn’t shy away from crazy action packed sequences it’s pretty much exactly what we were waiting for over the last several years.

The movie will officially release on May 7th 2010 and after having watched the trailer about 20 times we’re making the early prediction that even more people will be flocking to the sequel than did to the original.

Okay, call me weak. Call me a comic movie fanboy. Call me a fan of Robert Downey Jr but I am so looking forward to the next installment of Iron Man. While it won’t be in theaters until May of 2010 there is a brand new trailer released today (via the great crew at FirstShowing.net) as the result of some-one solving the viral contest that had been going on.

It’s short but damn it’s sweet. Enjoy.

Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau and star Robert Downey Jr. were on hand at Comic Con Saturday afternoon to talk shop and share two minutes worth of new footage from the forthcoming movie.

The new footage isn’t online yet, although plenty of sites are discussing it with the occasional picture taken in the room being added. Scenes included: a shot of Tony Stark in his Iron Man suit but with his helmet off, looking a little the worse for wear on the middle of a giant doughnut sign atop a diner; a scene where Tony Stark appears before a Senate committee; shots of Russian bad guy Ivan Vanko hammering away on metal to make his Whiplash suit then Whiplash in action,

More: Sam Rockwell, as arms dealer Justin Hammer showing Col. James “Rhodey” Rhodes (played by Don Cheadle) various weapons, Scarlet Johansson looking slinky and sexy as Black Widow and Scenes of Iron Man flying and dodging missiles.

The producers of Iron Man 2 have released the first shot of Mickey Rourke on set playing the character Whiplash.

USA Today notes that Whiplash sports a power pack on his chest that looks similar to the one that Iron Man uses. “The technologies are definitely related,” director Jon Favreau told the paper. “That’s part of the core theme of the film.” The first image of the character shows Whiplash making an appearance at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix.

Iron Man 2 is due out in May 2010.

Iron Man 2 is quickly turning into an A-List ensemble cast, with Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson both confirmed to join Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, and Samuel L. Jackson in the follow up to last years surprise hit.

Scarlett Johansson will play the Black Widow, a Russian spy. The role was originally going to Emily Blunt, who stepped aside due to her obligations to Gulliver’s Travels. A rep for Johansson said only that “Scarlett is thrilled to be a part of Iron Man.”

Mickey Rourke takes on the role of villian Whiplash. Fresh from his comeback in The Wrestler, Rourke is perfect for the role. The Whiplash character won’t be faithful to the comic series, instead being a combination of that character and the comic book character known as the Crimson Dynamo.

Iron Man 2 is slated for a May 2010 release.
