The YouTube Insight feature will now let users see view count broken down into age group and gender. Product managers say the data comes from the birthdate and gender information viewers gave when they signed up with YouTube and doesn’t reveal any personally identifying information.

YouTube launched its Insight analysis program this past March. Since then, developers say they’ve found users “modifying their upload schedules based on when they know their audience is tuning in,” and advertisers “studying geographic traffic patterns to assess the effectiveness of regional ad campaigns.”

You can access the Insight program under the “My Videos” menu in the “Account” section of YouTube.
