On Mother’s Day, the thoughts of women apparently turn not to home and family but to cheating on their spouse at least according to one website that specializes in that sort of thing.

AshleyMadison.com, the publicity generating extra-marital hookup site, claims it experiences a huge spike in female sign-ups on the day after Mother’s Day. In 2012, the site reports that it had a massive 439 percent increase (about 15,000 married women signing up) over what it considers a typical Monday.

CEO Noel Biderman claims that women who don’t get sufficient affection or appreciation from their spouse on holidays or quasi-holidays start considering looking elsewhere for love. “While Mother’s Day might not have the implicit romance factor of Valentine’s Day or an anniversary, it’s a holiday that compels women to reflect on their relationships,” Biderman opined.

Based on about surveying about 3,000 members of the website, the typical cheating mom (if their is such a thing as typical) is 31, married less than five years, and has one young child. Nearly 70 percent of members of AshleyMadison.com are moms.

Yahoo’s “HowAboutWe” columnist Melissa Wall suggested that the demands of married life may possibly account for the day-after-Mother’s-Day membership increase at AshleyMadison.com:

” … one thing we can be pretty certain of is that the holiday is confronting for many married moms. Just as her children are expected to stop and contemplate the jaw-dropping onslaught of toil and worry and gifts and sacrifices that go into the raising of a child, so are moms forced to take a hard look at just what their lives involve on a day-to-day basis. Our society holds motherhood on a pedestal, glorifying it for its virtues and selfless nature, but when it comes down to brass tacks, we don’t do all that much in the way of helping moms escape the drudgery and hardship that come with the deal. Cards and flowers and a nice breakfast are lovely, but do they really make up for the weeks of no sleep, the 6 AM carpools, and the piles of mushy Cheerios perpetually left on the floor?”

Previous surveys carried out by the married-dating website revealed that large chain restaurants are the preferred locations for cheaters to meet up for a bite to eat and also that Washington, D.C., is the least faithful city in terms of adultery.

Happy Mother’s Day, When Unhappy Moms Think About Having An Affair is a post from: The Inquisitr

Though many couples start out believing that they can conquer anything together, it turns out that infidelity is pretty difficult to come back from, according to a recent obvious survey.

Several surveys have supported this in recent years, with an Ourtime.com query returning 42 percent of adults willing to work on a relationship after finding out their partner had cheated. Only 31 percent of marriages last after an affair has been discovered according to the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy.

Also, most adulterers are hardly at the Don Draper level of infidelity. Only 15 to 20 percent of cheating partners cheat again, according to author Bill Mitchell. This all just goes to show something we really shouldn’t need to be told – it only takes one time to destroy your marriage for good.

MSN Living talked with Rick Reynolds, who created the website AffairRecovery.com, after an affair nearly destroyed his own marriage. He believes that married couples can recover from infidelity and even “find a higher level of marital satisfaction than they once had.”

There are a few obvious conditions. First, the cheating partner has to be really, really sorry. Like, so sorry. The hurt partner also needs to keep an eye out for positive changes and signs of recovery in the marriage.

If you can’t do all that, just call it a day.

“From the beginning, I tell people this process will take anywhere from eighteen to twenty-four months and it might even take longer,” he says. “And even if they take responsibility for healing both as individuals and as a couple there is one last barrier I see that happens toward the end of the process. Will they choose to be married?”

It might not be a reputation they want as a business, but a recent survey revealed that individuals meeting up for an affair do tend to favor specific restaurants.

AshleyMadison.com, an extra-martial hookup site, performed a survey on the most popular places for cheaters in major U.S. cities to meet up for a bite to eat. They found that these folks tend to prefer large chain restaurants that are at least 20 miles away from home.

“Chain restaurants are larger and less conspicuous,” explained Ashley Madison CEO Noel Biderman. “Steak houses are always a popular affair destination since they’re not only dimly lit but also commonly found in business districts, close to hotels where the these type of dates typically end.”

The website surveyed 42,890 of their members in major American cities in order to compile a list of the top 10 most popular restaurants for cheaters to meet up with their extra-marital misters or mistresses.

Many of the restaurants on the top 10 list strike me as strange, because they seem like places to hold business meetings or meet up with your family. Chili’s, Outback Steakhouse, and Red Lobster all made the cut, though slightly more expensive joints like The Cheesecake Factory and P.F. Changs also made the list.

At the very top of the preferred rendezvous restaurant list? Morton’s Steak House.

So next time you visit any of these locales to grab a bite to eat, look around the dining room and remember that you may be sitting among folks engaged in marital infidelity!

Where Do People Meet To Cheat? Steakhouses, According To Ashley Madison Survey is a post from: The Inquisitr

A new study reports gelada baboons are as tactically deceptive as people when it comes to trying to cover their sexual indiscretions with another from their mate. No, they’re not covertly deleting their text or email messages. Nor are baboons anxiously explaining why they’re frequently working later than usual, using the time to have an illicit rendezvous.

Aliza le Roux, a behavioral ecologist at the University of the Free State in South Africa indicates there are evolutionary roots to hiding sexual infidelity. However, it’s rare to see it revealed outside of human society.

Le Roux and her colleagues ventured to the Simien Mountains National Park in Ethiopia and observed the hierarchies and social behaviors of gelada baboons. From January 2009 to December 2011 researchers documented activity amongst 19 reproductive units.

A gelada can typically live to around 20 years old. The most basic groups of geladas are reproductive units made up of one to 12 females, their young, and one to four males. There are also all-male units made up of two to 15 males. Herds consist of up to 60 reproductive units, sometimes from different bands. Communities are made of one to four bands whose home ranges overlap.

Gelada baboons (Theropithecus gelada) cohabitate in social units composed of several females and a dominant alpha male. This “top dog” has exclusive rights to the females. However, subordinate males manage to sire an average of 17 percent of the offspring. Analysts recorded 939 in-unit copulations between a dominant male and one of his females and 93 external-unit copulations where intercourse occurred between a subordinate male and a female.

Geladas only reside in the high grassland of the deep gorges of the central Ethiopian plateau. It would be assumed a dominant male would detect and inhibit infidelity from occurring. But researchers found cheating happened when the alpha male was at least 65 feet away. Instead of producing typical loud mating calls, cheating geladas attempted to conceal the torrid affair by remaining abnormally quiet. The study team considered these behaviors as tactically deceptive and not solely opportunistic.

It was also found that alpha males in the units inflicted punishments on those caught cheating, rushing at the pair and trying to bite them, along with other demonstrations of aggression. This reaction did little to deter the infidelity long-term as the cheating pair would eventually re-offend.

Washington D.C. is the America’s least faithful city in terms of adultery according to a website devoted to facilitating infidelity.

Many Americans feel D.C. is the least faithful in terms of spending taxpayer money wisely, but that’s an entirely different conversation.

In this instance, our nation’s capital ranks first — for the second year in a row — for extramarital affairs at least based on the findings from AshleyMadison.com, the website for married dating.

The website had the highest number of signups per capita in 2012 in its user database, totaling about 34,000.

AshelyMadison.com founder and CEO Noel Biderman evaluated the results as follows according to CNSNews.com:

“With enormous public attention paid to political cheating scandals this year, including the Gen. Petraeus affair, there was no doubt that Washington residents would be influenced. Living in D.C. it’s crucial to keep up appearances and therefore adultery has become a way of life for many of the city’s most powerful residents.”

Based on these findings, apparently D.C. also has the most married men age 50 and above (such as your average congressperson or high-level bureaucrat perhaps?) who are looking for discreet encounters not involving their spouse. In the overall rankings, Austin and Houston Texas finished in second and third place, respectively.

When Washington D.C. finished first last year at this time, Biderman provided this explanation according to the Washington Post:

“Simply put, the more successful you are, the more prone to cheating you are, and Washington is full of successful people looking for something outside their marriage …

“The more successful you are the more you tend to travel for work and pleasure, and more often removed from your family, interacting with individuals with whom commonalities surface.

With Valentine’s Day coming up this week, Biderman separately told USA Today business should experience a spike on Friday:

“The day after Valentine’s Day is one of our biggest days of the year. People are disappointed by their spouses’ lack of effort, and they feel especially undervalued when there is a societal expectation of romance. Certain days of the year act as litmus tests for many people in relationships.”

In a possibly related matter, a study released last month claimed that Washington D.C. residents watch more X-rated online videos than those living anywhere else in the country.

It’s worth suggesting perhaps that sometimes individuals (one or both of whom might be married) meet each other in the workplace and sparks fly, but depending upon the circumstances, that doesn’t necessarily always make them bad people.

That aside, does it surprise you that at least based on signups for the Ashley Madison website that Washington D.C. leads the nation in infidelity?

Washington D.C. Is The Top City For Cheating is a post from: The Inquisitr

Peterborough, England – Richard Rodwell, 46, was deceived by his ex-wife.  He was duped into believing their children, conceived during the marriage, were his. Richard’s since sought legal action, suing his ex-wife for damages.

Richard demanded DNA tests even though his ex-wife insisted the children were his, after rumors surfaced. Turns out each of his two children had been fathered by separate men. Upon the revelation of paternity, Richard’s would-be children Adam and Laura, now in their late teen years, broke all contact.

Richard describes his ordeal as, “I have been robbed of ever having children,” but he has no regrets about ordering tests.

Richard felt he was a devoted father and family man until his near 14-year marriage fell apart. He explained:

“Helen was disappearing for several days without telling me where she was going. I only found out from used train and coach tickets I discovered. I would collect the children from school as usual and walk into the house and it would be empty with no note or anything. Helen would go to places such as Newcastle or Manchester, and if I asked why she had gone there she would say, ‘Nothing to do with you.’”

After the divorce in 2004, Richard, a factory manager, paid regular child support for more than four years to his ex-wife Helen totaling £15,600. In 2008 Richard petitioned for DNA tests after salacious rumors emerged about the paternity of his children. ”I think the children need to know who their real father is.”

The courts, treating the deception lawsuit similarly to that of child-death bereavement, awarded in Richard’s favor. The county judge took into consideration the depths of deceit, and the fact that Richard and his new wife, Trudi, are unable to have their own children, according to the Daily Mail.

Richard wanted justice for the betrayal, not so much the money. But he never wanted to lose his children in the process:

“I treated them both as if they were my own. I was there at their births, went to their Nativity plays and helped them with school homework. I can’t stop thinking about the children as they were my life. I always wanted children and grandchildren and now it’s too late in life for me. The children were the most important people in my life, and now they have gone.”

According to Richard, his ex-wife has never voiced an apology. He was awarded compensation in 2011 of £12,500 for each child, and costs of £25,000. He also won a court order forcing his ex-wife to move out of the marital home, which is now up for sale for £119,995, reports the Telegraph.

Next time you are out to dinner, give your date a second look. Research was published today that shows women are able to judge a man’s likelihood to cheat by studying his face alone, even in the absence of behavioral cues.

Researchers from the University of Western Australia presented their work today in the Royal Society’s journal Biology Letters. The research concludes that women are able to assess mens’ unfaithfulness with a modest degree of accuracy. The facial features that indicate a man who is prone to cheating include classic masculine features such as a square chin, a prominent brow, and a wide, angular jaw.

In their paper, the research team stated:

“We conclude that impressions of sexual faithfulness from faces have a kernel of truth, at least for women, and that they may help people assess the quality of potential mates about whom they have minimal behavioral information.”

According to the Daily Mail, the study’s co-author, Professor Leigh Simmons, said:

“Females may have become better at the task because they have more to lose if their lover leaves them holding the baby.”

While women could spot the men with masculine facial features as cheaters, the study shows men had a hard time correctly identifying cheating women. It is interesting to note, though untrue according to this research, that men think attractive and feminine women are more likely to cheat. Unfortunately, the men struck out on that assessment.

The research team was able to complete this study by using almost 200 photographs of adults who had answered questions about their unfaithfulness. They then showed these photos to a test group who were asked on a scale of 1 to 10 (not very likely to very likely): “How likely is this person to be unfaithful? in a sexual context.”

The research team believes more work needs to be done in this area.

Emily Maynard, the star of this season’s edition of The Bachelorette, has already been busted for cheating, according to US Magazine. While hanging out with her husband-to-be’s extended family in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, Jef Holm, the so-called “winner” of the television dating program, discovered some incriminating evidence on the starlet’s cell phone.

US Magazine broke the story about Maynard’s infidelity in a recent issue, which was confirmed by the fiance’s brother, Mike. According to him, the entire tale is 100 percent true.

“I was there and I heard the fight and watched the whole thing go down, Emily leaving and everything,” Mike explained. “I love my brother very much and, like the rest of our family, I just want him to be happy.”

The couple, who got engaged on the finale of The Bachelorette, is already off to a very rocky start. Nothing like a little infidelity to spice up a new marriage. However, Mike remains hopeful that the two can work through the problems associated with this extremely unfortunate scenario.

“We all love Emily, too. Mistakes happen, we all get that,” he explained. “I hope they can work it all out, but as far as your story goes, it’s all true.”

Emily Maynard, a 26-year-old single mom, has already watched one relationship turn to dust before her eyes. Shortly after being selected by Brad Womack on season 15 of The Bachelor, the budding romance quickly crashed and burned. This ultimately prompted Maynard’s appearance on the The Bachelorette where she hoped to find true love once again.

According to Fox News, the exchange between Holm and Maynard following the discovery of her sexting spree was pretty intense. “Jef and Emily went into a bedroom and were yelling. He said, ‘You’ve been f—ing cheating on me for months!’” a source explained. Jef’s advice to Emily: “‘Pack your s— and get the f— out.”

Least romantic wedding ring ever,” wrote one user. “I’m just saying that if either of you are considering these, then you should probably reconsider marriage, period.”

“Interesting concept, but if he/she is gonna cheat, they’re gonna cheat,” tweeted one user pondering the practical use of the product (read above: satire).

Cheating and general infidelity often prompts a wronged partner to ask themselves (and Google) why their lover strayed, and the question is a painful one leaving many to ponder how they may have prevented a relationship breakdown in the first place.

And while sex is often believed to be the driving motivation for infidelity, particularly in men, it turns out that emotional dissatisfaction is just as likely to drive your lover into the arms of another.

Website YourTango.com surveyed a bunch of therapists who are intimately aware of the reasons partners stray from relationships, and revealed the observations about emotional distance in a relationship and how it impacts likelihood of infidelity.

Of those responding to the survey, a scant 8% indicated belief in the idea that males are hardwired to be promiscuous, while the balance credited interpersonal static for cheating. YourTango’s Lynn R. Zakeri explained:

“It may sound surprising, but many men are really looking for someone to connect with, to be their best friend and their intimate partner, and when they lose that connection in their marriage, they may look elsewhere.”

Dr. Susan Heitler commented:

“While there are many factors that can lead to an extramarital sexual encounter, emotional distance is one that couples can prevent. If there’s been distress, dissension or too much distance, take a marriage ed class to learn how to stay more comfortably connected.”

90% of the therapists polled were less blaming of technology when it comes to cheating — saying that while sites like Match.com allow for those who wish to cheat to find a willing or unwitting partner, that the infidelity was likely to occur regardless of method.

50% of the respondent therapists cited technology as a “catalyst for cheating,” but only 7% say Facebook has increased the number of affairs they’ve observed. YourTango CEO Andrea Miller explains:

“This data is consistent with our previous research that underscores the real problem for most couples is less about sex and more about feeling valued and communicating successfully… And while 50% of affairs play out sexually, emotional affairs constitute the betrayal a whopping 40% of the time. It’s the lack of closeness that overwhelmingly leads to cheating and discord.”

A whopping 57% of the therapists polled said that a partner who has strayed may not be best served by confessing to the infidelity if they wish to save the marriage.

Former Giants running back Tiki Barber is reportedly disappointed but moving forward with his life after all 32 NFL teams passed on the player as he attempted to make a comeback to football.

Barber retired in 2006, and in the intervening years, has attracted more attention for his work in entertainment and tumultuous personal life than anything athletic. The athlete and twin of fellow NFL player Ronde Barber made several unsuccessful forays into entertainment and reporting since his 2006 retirement, and made headlines in 2010 when he left his wife of ten years, Ginny, who was due to imminently give birth to the couple’s twins. Barber took up with 23-year-old NBC intern Traci Lynn Johnson.

Barber actually managed to make the situation more controversial- in addition to abandoning his heavily pregnant wife, he later commented on hiding in his agent’s attic while the situation persisted. Of staying with Mark Lepselter, Barber remarked: “Lep’s Jewish, and it was like a reverse Anne Frank thing.” The offensive comments were widely condemned.

Lepselter offered comment on Barber’s failure to be selected for any NFL teams:

“This is the last time I am speaking on this subject in any way, shape or form. You can’t worry about the things in life you can’t control and Tiki has moved forward accordingly.”

Sports Illustrated‘s Peter King said Lepselter told him:

“We are flabbergasted that Tiki has not had an opportunity with any team, especially when rosters were at 90 players this year (during training camp). I certainly thought some team would be intrigued to see what he had left in the tank.”

No mention was made of Barber’s plans after his NFL rejection.

If the National Enquirer is to be believed, former vice-presidential candidate John Edwards might be campaigning for a Nobel Prize in being a cad.

According to the tabloid (which has broken exclusive stories about Edwards in the past, including the initial report of an affair with Hunter and the existence of the pair’s “love child” Frances Quinn), Edwards popped the question to his mistress as his estranged wife lay dying of cancer, and the pair plan to marry this summer. (Whether the ceremony will be held atop Elizabeth Edwards’ grave was not reported.)

Of course, the Enquirer‘s reputation is shaky at best, and the tabloid has erroneously reported plans to marry for Edwards and Hunter before:

John Edwards has proposed to his mistress Rielle Hunter, and is buying a luxury $3.5 million beachfront home where they can live happily ever after with their love child, The ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

During a recent and somewhat questionable GQ interview, Hunter commented on her hopes for a future involving Edwards:

“I do know that I love him and that love is till death do us part, and probably beyond,” Hunter recently told GQ magazine. “We have a child together, so at the very least we will be co-parents together.”

Edwards admitted to fathering the child with Hunter early last year, and Edwards left his cheating ass about a week later.

If you’ve got a panty-dropping weakness or can’t seem to keep it in your pants, a gene variant linked with thrill-seeking behavior could be responsible for promiscuous behavior, among other things.

Researchers have interviewed a whole bunch of hos, and discovered variant of a dopamine receptor gene called DRD4 may predispose a person to behaviors like cheating and hitting it and quitting it. Previous studies have linked the presence of the gene variant to all kinds of fun things like boozing it up, gambling and even watching totally awesome horror movies- as well as being politically liberal.

A new study collected data and DNA from 181 young adults (and collecting DNA from the DRD4 people was probably way more fun, amirite?) and analyzed it. One researcher who worked on the study explains:

“What we found was that individuals with a certain variant of the DRD4 gene were more likely to have a history of uncommitted sex, including one-night stands and acts of infidelity,” study researcher Justin Garcia, a postdoctoral fellow at Binghamton University, State University of New York, said in a statement.

“The motivation seems to stem from a system of pleasure and reward, which is where the release of dopamine comes in,” Garcia said. “In cases of uncommitted sex, the risks are high, the rewards substantial and the motivation variable — all elements that ensure a dopamine ‘rush.’”

The study indicated that those with the gene variant were twice as likely to commit acts of infidelity. However, Garcia cautions that it doesn’t “let transgressors off the hook,” and that the relationship between the gene and those behaviors is “associative.”

When Canadian cellular company Rogers Wireless Inc. bundled services for a married Canadian couple, former customer Gabriella Nagy says the consequences of that simple billing decision without her consent ruined her life.

Now Nagy’s suing the telecommunications provider for $600,000, alleging invasion of privacy and breach of contract. Nagy’s husband, whom she declined to identify to spare him further shame, was the main account holder for the couple’s cable tv account at their home address. The woman’s cell phone bills arrived separately and were addressed to her maiden name, until Nagy’s husband opted to add internet to the services provided by Rogers at that address. It is at that point, she says, the company took it upon themselves to bundle the couple’s services, granting Nagy’s spouse access to her cell phone bill and allowing him to learn of her affair:

When Nagy’s husband opened the Rogers invoice, he saw several hour-long phone calls to a single phone number.

“Nobody does business this way and he’s not stupid,” says Nagy, who is in her 30s. He called the number, spoke to the “third party” who confirmed the affair, which had lasted only a few weeks, Nagy told the Star.

“My husband didn’t tell me that’s how he found out, he just left.”

While it’s difficult to feel sympathy for Nagy- she did lie, cheat on her spouse and get caught doing it- should Rogers have treated her account with more discretion? Nagy feels that the global invoice issued by Rogers destroyed her life- costing her her marriage as well as her high paid job when the stress of her husband’s abandonment got to her:

Nagy is deeply embarrassed and ashamed about what happened. “It was a mistake,” she said of the affair. “But I didn’t deserve to lose my life over it.”

After her husband left her and their two children, ages 6 and 7, she was so distraught her work performance suffered and she lost her job as an apartment rental agent that had paid her almost $100,000 until she was let go in Oct. 10, 2007. “The plaintiff wept uncontrollably at her workplace . . . and became incapable of performing her employment duties,” reads the statement of claim.

Not surprisingly, Nagy’s husband is said to be less upset with the telecom:

When she confronted her husband, he said, “Thank god for the Rogers bill. Had it not come bundled in my cable service I would never known. That’s the only way,” Nagy says.

Rogers completely denies any responsibilities for the series of events that transpired after their “global invoice” arrived at the home Nagy shared with her husband and children in 2007, asserting:

“The marriage break-up and its effects happened, or alternatively would in any event have happened, regardless of the form in which the plaintiff and her husband received their invoices for Rogers services in July 2007.”

Former Giants running back and current sportscaster and sports blogger Tiki Barber announced a split from his wife Ginny, to whom he has been married for 11 years.

Barber is said to have left his wife, who is eight months pregnant with twins, for 23-year-old intern Traci Lynn Johnson. The news about Barber is particularly surprising when compared with statements he made about his own father’s fidelity in a New York Post interview a few years back:

“I don’t give a [bleep] that the relationship didn’t work,” he said of his parents’ split in a 2004 Post interview. “Not only did he abandon her, I felt like he abandoned us for a lot of our lives. I have a hard time forgiving that.”

Barber, who has two sons with Ginny, ages 6 and 7, released the following statement regarding the split:

“After 11 years of marriage, Ginny and I have decided to separate,” Barber said. “This decision was a painful one, but we are moving forward amicably and will continue to work together to raise our children with the love and dedication they have always known.”

A spokesman for Barber declined further comment on the matter.

The woman at the center of the John Edwards-secret child saga, Rielle Hunter, has spoken out about her relationship with “Johnny” to GQ Magazine.

The interview is available in its entirety online, a full ten pages of back and forth text between Hunter and GQ writer Lisa DePaulo. Hunter invited DePaulo to “sleep over” during the course of the interview, and the reporter stayed the night with Hunter and her daughter Quinn in their modest, rented home. (Hunter is adamant Edwards has not ever purchased a home for her, contrary to many rumors. She does concede that he and his wife wanted to rent a place to her, but that she was unable to afford it.)

Hunter says the two slept together the first night they met, after meeting on the street in Manhattan. (The corner of 61st and Park Avenue.) Hunter expresses distaste for the motivations of Andrew Young in the whole saga, claiming the staffer loved John Edwards more than his own wife, Cheri.

One of the most alarming themes in the interview is Hunter’s inability to take off the “other woman” blinders and see her shoddy treatment (and the disrespect to Edwards’ cancer stricken wife Elizabeth Edwards) for what it truly is. Below is an excerpt between DePaulo and Hunter on some of Edwards’ public statements about his infidelity:

And wasn’t that when he was asked if he loved you and he responded by saying there was only one woman he ever loved, Elizabeth?

I believe so. Yeah. I mean, it was very painful. Because I had this thing in my head like a lot of women, where you want your man to stand up on a cliff and scream, “I LOVE HER.” You know, the knight in shining armor. And that wasn’t what was going on.

Did he call you after the interview?

Yes. And I said, “Ouch, that hurt.” And he said, “I’m sorry.” And “It doesn’t mean anything.” And it didn’t. I know he loves me. I have never had any doubt at all about that. We love each other very much. And that hasn’t changed, and I believe that will be till death do us part. The love doesn’t go away. It’s unconditional. It’s unconditional on my part, but our connection is profound. There’s a lot of passion there.

Hunter goes on to be as forgiving when pressed on the matter of Edwards repeatedly and vehemently denying the paternity of her daughter, Quinn:

Like when he said on national television that it was impossible that he was the father?

Correct. But I also knew when he did that interview he was not in the right mind. He was traumatized. Because he had been living a life that was now exposed. And he does, you know, traumatic things when that door opens. Like Mark Sanford. A hidden life, when it is exposed, is a traumatic event for the person going through it. And they’re not in their right mind. Anyone going through that should never speak publicly. And what they say, if they do speak publicly, should be forgiven.

Hunter also falls into a major other woman trap here:

Do you feel bad for her at all?

Oh, my God, I have such compassion for her. I really do. I mean, especially when you have terminal cancer… I watched my father die of cancer. It’s heart-wrenching to me. But it’s also sad to me, her unwillingness to take responsibility for her part in the marriage. And her unwillingness to face the truth. We’re all slaves to our unconscious, but she really believes that it’s everyone else’s fault. And that’s heart-wrenching to me, too.

And then here. Ouch:

What was he upset about?

He was upset that I had come to Chapel Hill. On the announcement tour [in her capacity as campaign videographer]. Because he thought it was a bad idea for Elizabeth to see me. Because if she saw me, she would suspect what was happening.

And she did.

And she did. And so he was upset with me. And she came into the room or he heard her coming, so he hung up the phone abruptly. And left the phones there, together. And he told me that the next morning, Elizabeth was, you know, thinking, “What was he doing up there? I’ll bet he was talking on the phone to her.” So she called his cell phone and heard it ringing and went looking for his cell phone. And found the other phone, our phone, next to his cell phone. And picked up the phone and called me. Because the last number dialed…

I see.

Keisha Jones, 38, was livid when she discovered her husband and the father of her children had carried on an affair with another woman for years, an affair that resulted in a child.

Jones became determined to eliminate the problem at the source: Monique Hunter’s baby. Jones stole a doctor’s prescription pad and called Hunter, 25, from a phone number spoofed to look like that of an OB-GYN. Posing as an employee of Hunter’s doctor, Jones urged the woman to pick up a prescription for a drug that she convinced Hunter, 25, would prevent the child from being born with Down’s Syndrome. (Hunter, in her seventh month of pregnancy, apparently believed this.) The drug, actually a medication called Cytotec, caused Jones to immediately go into labor. She gave birth to a baby boy she named Anthony, Jr. at Kings County Hospital. (Oh, burn, Keisha!)

Jones, foiled in her attempts on the child’s life, then sent a man with an unidentified substance in water bottles labeled “breast milk” to the hospital. Eagle eyed nurses immediately deduced that the fluid (which had not eminated from Hunter’s breasts) was not breastmilk, and contacted police, who slowly pieced together the continuing assaults on the mother and child.

Jones, who reportedly also gave birth to a child last month, was arrested Friday and charges are pending for assault, attempted abortion, forgery and possession of a forged instrument. Jones’ husband is not thought to have been involved in the plot against Monique Hunter and her son.

An unidentified man found himself on the business end of four angry, jilted women in a motel room and ended up with a superglued penis.

The ambush was allegedly orchestrated by one of the four women- the man’s wife. She apparently tired of his philandering ways and tracked down as many of the other women her husband was sleeping with as she could. Therese Ziemann, 48, is one of the accused and met the man on Craigslist. Last Wednesday, Ziemann met the man’s wife and also learned that he had several other girlfriends. During their relationship, she’d paid for all their hotel stays and also given the man $3,000.

By Thursday, the plan was in motion. Ziemann, her sister, the man’s wife and another of his lovers, Wendy Sewell, arranged for a tryst at a local hotel. Ziemann bound the man under the auspices of a sensual massage and summoned her new friends via text message. She then assaulted the man and superglued his penis to his abdomen.

When the man began screaming, his attackers fled with his wallet, phone and car. Police were summoned, and now all four women, including his missus, face various charges including false imprisonment.

There is no word yet on the extent of the man’s injuries. While a speedy recovery would be one thing, perhaps a speedy learning of his lesson might be more appropriate. Not that I condone superglueing penises.
