HTC HD2 May See T-Mobile U.S. Action In Early 2010

The HTC HD2 offers an impress feature set that includes a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch capabilities, WiFi, Bluetooth, 1GHZ Snapdragon Processor and Windows Mobile 6.5, well most of its impressive. Now rumors are suggesting that the device will be featured on T-Mobile U.S by early 2010.

The HTC HD2 arrives at T-Mobile Europe on November 9th, which does give some credence to T-Mobile U.S. rumors.

Now the hard part, choosing between the Motorola Droid, Xperia X10, iPhone 3GS or HTC HD2. With those type of choices mobile phone users are in an excellent position to choose what they want, we’re definitely not in an iPhone or bust situation anymore. [HTC]

HTC Droid Eris is No Droid, Ships With 528MHz Processor, Android 1.5

I’m not knocking the HTC Droid Eris, but it’s definitely no Motorola Droid, that fact has become apparently clear with the realization that the unit will feature a rather slow 528MHz Qualcomm chipset and run on the Android 1.5 mobile OS. While still a decent setup, it’s the same features found in year old devices including the HTC Hero and T-Mobile myTouch 3G.

BGR added that a “second HTC phone due later should address the speed gap” although it still doesn’t make sense that Verizon would so heavily push Android systems (Droid Does campaign) while providing less than stellar speeds in the age of Snapdragon processors and Android 2.0.

In another turn of “what the hell are they thinking” events it’s also expected that the Droid Eris will have a dumbed down HTC Hero camera.

Slower processors,mid-level cameras and the promise of better devices in the future, yup that sounds just like a Verizon campaign thrown together with a dash of HTC “forward thinking.” [Electronista]

Rock Out With The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Fender Edition

The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G just got a facelift with the newly announced “Fender Edition” of the popular “user customizable” Smartphone.

The MyTouch 3G Fender Edition features a newly minted 3.5mm headphone jack which was sorely missing on the original device, while also shipping with a free 16GB MicroSDHC card for added multimedia storage.

The HTC manufactured device also features a uniquely designed woodgrain finish that matches the look on many Fender guitars.

No word yet on pricing or even when it will be made available.

AT&T Delivers “Pure” Windows Mobile 6.5 Experience. Tilt 2 Will Soon Follow

The HTC Pure (AT&T Pure) and the HTC Tilt 2 (AT&T Tilt 2) are the first devices in North America to feature the much anticipated Windows Mobile 6.5 platform. The Pure is available now with the Tilt 2 “arriving in the coming weeks.”

The AT&T Pure is a close remake of the HTC Diamond2 with a new industrial look that serves as a contrast to the original devices metal accented look, instead relying on a black plastic design. The Pure also features a 3.2 inch WVGA display and a 5MP camera with autofocus. Under a 2 year contract the Pure will cost you $149.99 with a $50 mail in rebate.

The AT&T Tilt 2 will also be arriving in the coming weeks and features a larger 3.6 inch WVGA display, full QWERTY keyboard and full duplex speakerphone. It also features a 3.2 megapixel camera and of course Windows Mobile 6.5. The Tilt 2 will also feature $299.99 with a two year contract and a $50 rebate.

Both AT&T devices also feature the Microsoft Marketplace, a direct competitor for the Apple, Android, Blackberry and Ovi App stores.

Sprint Cuts Touch Pro2 Pricing To $200

Sprint Wireless has decided to follow the lead of Verizon Wireless and cut the pricing on the HTC Touch Pro2 to a more respectable $199.99. The price move will take effect on October 1st 2009 both online and at brick and mortar Sprint locations.

The new pricing does of course come with some stipulations. First customers must sign a 2 year contract and they’ll also need to send in a mail-in rebate to fully take advantage of the new pricing.

Already bought your Touch Pro2? According to recent reports some customers who have contacted Sprint about the price cut have received credits for the difference.

$199.99 is really not a bad price to pay for a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device with a sliding qwerty keyboard, 3G data connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0 + A2DP, WiFi and GPS. [BoyGeniusReport]

Vodafone Preps For October HTC Tattoo Release

Vodafone UK has officially announced that the HTC Tattoo will be available on their European network come this October. The Tattoo is being billed as the first “entry level” phone to feature the Google Android mobile platform.

The Tattoo not only features a 3.2MP camera, Bluetooth and WiFi b/g, it also comes equipped with 3G data connectivity, a built-in 3.5mm headphone jack and a MicroSD card slot for external memory storage.

HTC calls the device the first fully “user customizable device” which allows users to set how items display on their phone, while offering swappable phone covers to further personalize the external look on their Smartphone.

The HTC Tattoo also features a decently sized 3.2 inch touchscreen, unfortunately that display is resistive rather that capacitive in nature.

HTC Touch Pro2 Going To T-Mobile Starting August 12th

The HTC Touch Pro2 has been a wildly popular Windows Mobile 6.1 device in the European markets and in North America via the devices unlocked GSM counterpart. Now reports are giving the device an August 12th 2009 release date on the T-Mobile USA network.

The Touch Pro2 features a large and crisp 3.6 inch WVGA display that offers Touch Flo 3D technology, alongside a 3.2 megapixel camera. It even offers…gasp…3G via the T-Mobile AWS network, an option sorely missed on many current T-Mobile cell phones.

The Touch Pro2 also features a full sliding qwerty keyboard, built-in GPS with a Sirf III processor, a MicroSDHC card slot, and the newest HTC option “straight talk” which creates super crisp speakerphone reception.

No word on pricing at this point, however we do know that the phone will come in a “Mocha” color, that’s industry speak for “sorta brown and metallic but not really.” [via SlipperyBrick]

HTC Leo Photo Rendering Gets Leaked. Looks Like A WinMo 6.5 Touch HD

If the image above is in fact the HTC Leo (codename: Firestone) then it is definitely looking like the successor to the companies HTC Touch HD. The big advantage? This device brings Windows Mobile 6.5 to the table and some other nice tweaks that have gotten us excited.

The Leo will feature a rather large 4.3″ WVGA touchscreen with capacitive capabilities alongside the 1Ghz Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm, a processor which has been increasing in popularity since first announced for use on the Toshiba G01. It will also offer 3G data on the 900/2100MHz HSPA networks and a dual-LED flash camera with 5 megapixels.

The device is also slated to offer WiFi and Bluetooth + A2DP and a 3.5mm headphone jack, alongside an external MicroSDHC card slot, plus front and backside speakers for better audio output.

Finally the built in accelerometer and GPS/A-GPS capabilities should nicely round off the device while chewing through the including 1,230mAh battery at incredible rates.

HTC Magic Android-Phone Delayed Over “Hardware Change”

The HTC Magic — the new Android-based phone set to follow the T-Mobile G1 — has been delayed due to some sort of “last-minute hardware change,” HTC says.

The Magic was set to launch in the U.K. this month. It’s now being pushed back to May 5. HTC isn’t saying exactly what type of “hardware change” is involved.

The HTC Magic boasts a far sleeker design than its predecessor, featuring a 3.2-inch touchscreen with 320 by 480 resolution and no swivel-out keyboard. It’s also smaller and lighter than the G1.

A U.S. launch date has yet to be set.

HTC Dream running Android looking good

A blurry video allegedly showing HTC’s Dream cell phone running Google’s Android has surface on YouTube.

From the blurry pics, the Dream includes a slide out keyboard in addition to a near full sized touch screen. The screen includes an iPhone like auto-rotating display, and similar iPhone like icons. Boy Genius isn’t sure if the video is real or not, but if it is, and presuming the 2009 delays don’t drag on, Google Android looks likely to be a strong competitor to Apple.
