Gwyneth Paltrow recently revealed that her dad’s bout with cancer inspired her to get healthy.

The actress, who was named the World’s Most Beautiful Woman last month, is known for championing diets that promote better living. However, many of her fans may not realize it was her father’s health scare that made her decide to change the way she eats.

Paltrow recently discussed her dad’s cancer with the folks at Beach magazine. The Iron Man 3 star told the publication about her decision to pay closer attention to the food she puts in her body.

“I began to consider the effects of food when my father was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. I started to research anti-cancer diets in hopes that he would try to hit it from all angles,” the actress explained.

She continued, “It’s about being mindful about what you are putting in. Good whole foods are the way we have eaten for generations. It’s amazing how good you feel when you just cut out the processed stuff.”

Bruce Paltrow passed away due to complications from cancer and pneumonia in October of 2002. He was 58-years-old. Gwyneth soon started researching the effects certain foods can have on your system.

After deciding to ditch dairy and gluten from her diet, she later put together a cookbook entitled It’s All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great. The actress and her family reportedly follow many of the guidelines listed in the tome.

“Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across … seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it,” the actress explained.

Gwyneth Paltrow confessed, “I’m never going again,” after attending Monday night’s celebrity-packed Met Gala. The 40-year-old actress seemed wholly unimpressed with her experience at the annual New York City event, and seems to have ruffled a few feathers with comments she made afterwards.

“I’m never going again. It was so un-fun,” Paltrow explained to USA Today. “It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.” Her blatantly honest take on the evening was met with a bit of backlash from media outlets that essentially dubbed the actress a “party-pooper.”

Paltrow also appeared to shun the theme of this year’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Ball, “Punk: From Chaos to Couture.”

While most attendees added a bit of rebellious flare to their designer ensembles, Paltrow donned a demure Valentino Haute Couture pink gown, paired with equally conservative Wilfredo Rosado earrings.

Considering that Vogue editor and fashion heavyweight Anna Wintour has reportedly referred to pink as the “color of punk,” Paltrow’s color choice for the evening seems to be the only aspect of the theme she got right.

Although the pink dress worn by Paltrow may have won points with Wintour, the actress who claims “I’m never going again,” ended up on several worst-dressed lists the next day.

“I guess it’s punk in that I’ve gone just totally classic on a punk night,” she cheekily explained while defending the look to Vogue, which hosted the event.

While Paltrow found the ball experience miserable enough to conclude, “I’m never going again,” she didn’t cut out of the festivities as soon as one might expect. Instead, she reportedly followed up the soiree by attending the equally star-studded after party, held at the Standard Hotel’s Boom Boom Room.

Poor Gwyneth Paltrow says, “I’m never going again” after last weekend’s high-profile Met Ball, reminding us again why everyone thinks Gwyneth Paltrow is kind of a whiny pain in the ass.

While most plebes will never go anywhere as fancy as the Met Ball, Gwyneth finds the whole thing to be horrible, it would seem.

If you think working for minimum wage and not having insurance sucks, you have no real level of perspective to understand the torture endured by Gwyneth Paltrow before she declared she’s never going again to the Met Ball.

Paltrow reportedly told USA Today:

“I’m never going again. It was so un-fun. It was boiling. It was too crowded. I did not enjoy it at all.”

Before Paltrow declared she was never going again to the Met Ball, she did recall some happy memories from the gala — mainly, Miranda Kerr’s dress and discussing with Miranda Kerr how fabulous her dress was and how pretty Kerr is.

Earlier in the week, Gwyneth toldEntertainment Weekly:

“She was wearing a black Michael Kors dress that was sort of like a sparkling bandeau, and her whole stomach was showing. It was really beautiful. It was a little punk-y.”

The Avengers‘ star continued:

“[Miranda] is just so pretty, it’s abnormal … I was like, ‘Is it weird to be that pretty?’ And she was like, ‘No.’”

Paltrow didn’t walk the red carpet with spouse and Coldplay singer Chris Martin, something she says is an effort to keep their relationship “private.”

It’s not clear if anything specific precipitated Paltrow’s “I’m never going again” statement about the Met Ball, but the event is hosted by Vogue – and the star has graced seven of the massive mag’s covers so far.

Gwyneth Paltrow and husband Chris Martin have been through “terrible times” in their marriage.

The actress recently opened up about her relationship to the Coldplay singer while promoting Shane Black’s Iron Man 3. Paltrow admitted that she and her famous spouse have had several rocky moments at various points in their relationship.

“It’s hard being married. You go through great times, you go through terrible times. We’re the same as any couple,” Paltrow said of her marriage to Chris Martin.

When things got rough at one point during their relationship, the actress said she turned to her famous parents for help. Although her father didn’t give her any words of wisdom about how to keep the waters calm, he did explain how he managed to keep his marriage together all those years.

“I asked my dad once, ‘How did you and Mom stay married for 33 years?’ And he said, ‘Well, we never wanted to get divorced at the same time’. And I think that’s what happens,” she explained to Glamour UK.

While Martin and Paltrow may have had their troubles in the past, the Iron Man 3 star admitted that things aren’t always bad in their world. Despite the issues they’d encountered in the past, she explained that their relationship isn’t always in turmoil.

The actress continued:

“We laugh, we’re good friends, we like to do the same stuff. I’m a very grounded, homey person and Chris is a very mad scientist, genius songwriter. So I never say, ‘Where are you? You should be home by now.’ I never place demands on him because I think he’s a really talented man and he’s putting something good into the world.”

Two stars of the hugely successful Iron Man franchise are unsure whether there will be any more films in the series.

Iron Man 3 looks set to dominate the box office over the oncoming weeks, and so far it has grossed almost $200 million across the world, toppling The Avenger’s total from last year which was just $181.1million.

Industry experts have stated that the film’s success is because audiences view it as a sequel to The Avengers, which feature Iron Man’s Tony Stark as part of an ensemble cast that included Captain America, Thor, and The Hulk.

Iron Man 3 also kick started Marvel’s “Phase Two” films, and it is hoped that these movies will double the efforts of the previous “Phase One” endeavours.

But will Iron Man continue in this series? Various actors from these films have been discussing his future and they have different views.

Don Cheadle, who stars as James Rhodes, remarked, “It’s to be determined definitely by Marvel, and if they think there’s another aspect of the story that needs to be told that wasn’t covered in the trilogy. If there’s another way in that’s interesting.”

Cheadle then added, “I think if people like you make enough noise about it there’ll be an Iron Man 4.”

Meanwhile, Gwyneth Paltrow, who played Pepper Potts in the trilogy, wasn’t as enthusiastic, stating, “I don’t think there’s going to be [an Iron Man 4]. I think we’re done with Iron Man.”

Previously, Robert Downey Jr. also talked about the character’s future, stating that he thinks his time is up. “How may genre movies can I do?,” said the actor. “How many follow-ups to a successful follow-up are actually fun?”

He added, “Because, as quiet as it’s kept, I come from a family of very innovative writers and directors and actors and artists, and the circle of friends they were in were the people I heard having pun-offs playing poker at two in the morning, and it was just the most comforting aspect of my childhood.”

The Chaplin star then added, “So there’s this kind of legacy of souls from what I consider to be a very particular time in entertainment, and I’m sensing a return to that – it’s what me and the missus are doing next.”

Gwyneth Paltrow’s stylist said the actress “has taste” despite the uproar her Iron Man 3 premiere dress has caused.

The actress’ Antonio Berardi gown admittedly left very little to the imagination. The outfit was equipped with sheer panels that gave fans a good look at the length of her leg.

Although many thought the dress was a little too risque, stylist Elizabeth Saltzman thought Paltrow looked fabulous.

“Not only was it our first choice, it’s [also] beautiful, it’s cool, it’s daring in a no-daring way. Nonthreatening. Elegant. It looked great on her … it showed off her body. It’s spirit without being vulgar,” Saltzman explained to Us Weekly.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s stylist went on the insist the the actress has both “taste” and “confidence.” Saltzman added that she wasn’t trying to flaunt anything by wearing the revealing dress to the Iron Man 3 premiere.

She said in defense of the actress:

“And she’s not flaunting anything but the hard work that she’s put into being a happy body, happy person, healthy person. You don’t see a whole lot of false fakeness going on there like some other people. She’s always classic with a twist, classic with an edge.”

The actress discussed the fiasco during appearance on Ellen. Paltrow explained that the dress required her to go without underwear. She told DeGeneres:

“I was doing a show and I changed there and I [realized] I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV [...] Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor [...] So I went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated.”

Paltrow has received quite a bit of criticism for her decision to wear such a revealing dress to the Iron Man 3 premiere. The Daily Mail writer Liz Jones said the outfit was “the most vulgar, look-at-me, attention-seeking dress I have ever reviewed in over 30 years of writing about fashion.”

Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t seem convinced that Iron Man 4 is going to happen.

Although fans of the movies are certainly hoping the folks at Marvel will continue making Iron Man until the end of time, the actress seems to think it’s already over and done with. She dropped the bombshell during an interview with Bleeding Cool.

“I don’t think there’s going to be [an 'Iron Man 4']. I think we’re done with ‘Iron Man,’” she remarked during her recent chat.

For the record, actors and actresses tend to say a lot of things during interviews that don’t necessarily pan out. While there’s certainly no reason to believe that Gwyneth Paltrow is just spouting nonsense, it’s always best to take these claims with a grain of salt.

However, Robert Downey Jr. has also stated that he isn’t sure if he’ll return for Iron Man 4. Of course, all of this talk about the series coming to an end could simply be a smokescreen for future Marvel projects. Besides, there’s no telling what will happen to these characters over the course of Iron Man 3.

Both Gwyneth Paltrow and Robert Downey Jr.’s contracts expired after the completion of the latest installment in the popular franchise. This could mean that Marvel is interested in bringing in different actors for the roles at some point down the road. Again, it’s all speculation at this point.

What we do know is that Iron Man 3 is already out in theaters in the UK. North American fans will have their chance to catch the flick in cinemas on May 3. For those of you without a calendar, that’s next Friday. Judging from early reviews, the movie should be something special.

As for Gwyneth Paltrow’s comments regarding Iron Man 4, only time will tell if she knows what she’s talking about. Given her role in the franchise, there’s a good possibility she privy to more information about the franchise’s future than most of us.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s dress for the Iron Man 3 premiere in Los Angeles on Wednesday night left little to the imagination.

The 40-year-old turned heads and raised eyebrows when she sauntered down the red carpet in an Antonio Berardi gown with sheer side panels that left part of her butt on display.

Speaking about the gown on Friday’s Ellen (viewable below), the star admitted she “kinda had a disaster” when she realized the dress would prevent her from wearing underwear. Paltrow, who earlier this week was named the “Most Beautiful Woman in the World” by People, told host Ellen DeGeneres:

“I was doing a show and I changed there and I [realized] I couldn’t wear underwear. I don’t think I can tell this story on TV [...] Well, let’s just say everyone went scrambling for a razor [...] So I went from being the most beautiful to the most humiliated.”

When Ellen asked, “It was just the side of your leg! What is going on?” the actress quipped back, “I work a 70s vibe. You know what I mean?”

With the Gwyneth Paltrow dress already set to go down in the pantheon of (in)famous red carpet gowns (see also: Liz Hurley, Lizzy Gardiner, and Lady Gaga), the Internet has been critiquing the actress’ look; and none too kindly, if we’re honest.

Andrew Gruttadaro at HollywoodLife described the dress as a “wardrobe snafu,” while Kate Midena at News.com.au opened her piece with the remark:

“Despite being named People‘s Most Beautiful Woman earlier this week, Gwyneth Paltrow has committed what is quite possibly her worst fashion faux-pas to date.”

Meanwhile, Liz Jones at The Daily Mail harrumphed:

“This has got to be the most vulgar, look-at-me, attention-seeking dress I have ever reviewed in over 30 years of writing about fashion [...] Its space-age bodice and peculiar shade of bottle-green would normally be sufficient to offend, but the netted panel that stretches all the way up both sides rudely exposes the side of her bottom, proving — no doubt intentionally — that Paltrow is not only fearless, she is knickerless!”

Gwyneth Paltrow has caused an uproar with the kids’ bikini line that is available on her website.

In a recent installment of her online newsletter, the actress featured a line of bikinis for girls between the ages of four and eight. Dubbed the “Kids’ New York bikini set,” the $45 swimsuits are available only through the GOOP website.

If any moms are fan of the design, then they can purchase a black bikini that matches the one their daughter is wearing.

Celebrities such as Kelly Brook and Rihana are reportedly big fans of Melissa Odabash’s swimsuits. However, many critics believe that the kids’ bikini line available on Gwyneth Paltrow’s website makes girls grow up way too fast.

Claudia Knights, director of the children’s charity Kidscape, is definitely not a fan of these outfits. She told the Daily Mail that the organization is strongly opposed to the “sexualization of children and of childhood.”

She added, “The dangers have been discussed at length, so it is a great pity that such trends continue and that they carry celebrity endorsement.”

Although the kids’ bikini line certainly has its fair share of detractors, Paltrow’s representative doesn’t seem too concerned about the controversy. In a statement to E! Online, the spokesperson described the uproar as “absurd.”

“Two-piece bathing suits have been worn by young girls for decades,” the rep remarked.

The Iron Man 3 actress and GOOP are no stranger to rubbing people the wrong way. The actress and her website came under fire last year after they recommended a detox plan that was criticized by health professionals. The Indian Express said the diet involved “consuming just one low-calorie meal and two protein shakes a day.”

Gwyneth Paltrow of Iron Man 3 opened up on being Pepper Potts.

In an interview with Digital Spy, the Iron Man 3 actress gave us her thoughts on being a part of the action this time around, and the possibility of a Pepper Potts spinoff movie. As previously reported in The Inquisitr, a TV spot showed us Pepper Potts donning the Iron Man suit, which leads us to wonder if there is a future in the comic book character of Rescue.

In the comic books, Rescue was a character created when Pepper Potts used one of Tony Stark’s suits, most likely to help the playboy billionaire when he couldn’t help himself. Gwyneth Paltrow says she doesn’t think they’ll ever do it, but it could be fun if they did. After all, people mostly show up in the theater to watch Iron Man, not Pepper Potts.

As for future Iron Man or Avengers films, Gwyneth Paltrow says that Robert Downey Jr. likes having her around, so it’s more than likely that she’ll be in them. Pepper Potts is like the practical part of Tony Stark’s life that keeps him grounded when he’s pushing things too far, and it shows even in the films.

Gwyneth Paltrow said in the interview, “[When] the movie starts, Tony is kinda very traumatized by what’s happened at the end of Avengers. He’s got a bit of post traumatic stress disorder, and he’s very kind of distracted and having a difficult time connecting, and they’ve obviously been living together for a while, the relationship has progressed… They’re in a little bit of a struggle when the movie starts.”

On the fact of getting into the action in Iron Man 3, Gwyneth Paltrow said, “I loved it. I mean I really found it fun, I’ve never really done stunts before and I thought it was thrilling… I liked it a lot.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Botox are through, or so she said in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, where the style icon can be found — wrinkled eyes and all — on the May 2013 cover.

“I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy,” she said. “I looked like Joan Rivers!”

Maybe, but I don’t think the wrinkled, crinkled look is particularly great for a star who only just turned 40. Don’t take my word for it. Pull out a copy of Harper’s for yourself, or just closely examine the picture up top. Those ripples around the forehead are not doing much to persuade me that I’d want to follow one of her kooky diets.

And you can see those crow’s feet around the eyes, one of the easiest kinds of wrinkles to soften or remove with Botox, at half a mile away.

In mid-March, Paltrow released her second cookbook, It’s All Good, that another The Inquisitr reporter, Kim LaCapria, summed up as, “no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed at all!”

Sheesh, shoot me now, and I don’t mean with a Botox injection needle.

Oddly enough, Gwyneth Paltrow also supposedly confessed to smoking one cigarette a week. If anyone out there ever met somebody who really only smoked one cigarette a week, raise your hand.

Funny. I don’t see any hands. Heh.

In any event, the best diet in the world won’t fix wrinkles, especially in a pale-skinned blonde over 40. And really, truly not in a pale-skinned blonde over 40 who still smokes.

It’s Botox, another injectable, or surgery. Or else it’s wrinkles.

If I had to wager money on it, I’d give it less than six months before Gwyneth Paltrow goes back to Botox. What do you think?

Gwyneth Paltrow Botox Made Her Look Crazy ‘Like Joan Rivers’ is a post from: The Inquisitr

Can’t wait until May for Iron Man 3 to open in theaters? We’ve got your back. Disney and Marvel Studios have published Q&A transcripts for Kevin Feige (Marvel’s movie big-wig), Robert Downey Jr., and Gwyneth Paltrow. They talk plot points, new cast members, and reveal that a familiar character will be “suiting up” for the very first time.

SPOILER ALERT! Needless to say, if you want an Iron Man 3 experience that is pure as the driven snow, stop reading here.

Robert Downey Jr. will probably play Iron Man as long as Marvel will have him (and really, can you imagine anyone else?), but his contract expires after Iron Man 3. Sure, he’ll be back in Avengers 2 for sure, but just in case this is his last solo film, Marvel Studios has made sure to pull out all the stops and jump all of the sharks for Shane Black’s three-quel.

So what are we to expect from Iron Man 3?

First of all, those scenes from the trailer where Stark’s beachfront mansion is destroyed and he’s seen dragging a broken suit of armor through a snowy forest? That’s just Act One.

“So by the end of the first act of Iron Man 3, his house is gone,” said Feige. “His technology is gone. All he has is a barely functioning, prototype suit that, soon after he escapes from the house that’s destroyed, is not functioning at all.”

But why?

“It is a lot of fun to see Tony out of his element, without any of his toys, with just his mind, to see how he can overcome and there are villains that come and attack him in this sequence, with no suit at all to grab,” said Feige, adding that Tony will have to “get out of that cave with a box of scraps” all over again (a reference to Iron Man).

What is the state of the Tony Stark/Pepper Potts relationship in Iron Man 3? “”So they are living together and they are in a committed relationship, which again is somewhat unique to the superhero genre. That is one of the reasons we really wanted to do it,” said Feige, who added that the relationship is not without conflict. Tony Stark has poured his stress from PTSD into his work, building suit after suit. “It’s an obsession and, as Pepper calls it, his distraction. It’s clearly affecting their relationship.”

Oh, and in case you haven’t figured it out from toys, hints, or trailer clips, Pepper suits up for the first time in her very own set of armor.

“There were talks of Pepper getting in the suit at the end of Iron Man 2, but Marvel wasn’t ready to do it yet,” Feige said.

“I think in the comic books she does eventually get into the suit and she has her own suit, and I know Robert was really interested in having Pepper do more in this movie,” he continued.

“I didn’t mind wearing the suit at all,” said Paltrow. “I thought it was light and perfectly comfortable and my children thought I was extremely cool. They were here on a day where I was in it, so they were trying it on and when my son saw me in the suit, he had the biggest eyes, so it was definitely worth it.”

“I can honestly say that they should expect to be continually surprised,” said Downey Jr. “This is intentionally a mislead into a redirect into a turnaround into a bait-and-switch into a red herring. But I think that in some ways that this is the most emotionally satisfying and the most technically and action-wise and superhero-wise entertaining of the three. It’s fun.”

‘Iron Man 3′ Spoiled Slightly By Feige, Downey, And Paltrow is a post from: The Inquisitr

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up for the first time about the tragic miscarriage that claimed the life of her third child and almost claimed hers too.

The 40-year-old confessed that she has longed to have another child, although she is still “missing” the baby she lost.

“My children ask me to have a baby all the time,” the mom to Apple and Moses told You Magazine. “And you never know, I could squeeze one more in. I am missing my third. I’m thinking about it.”

Paltrow added, “But I had a really bad experience when I was pregnant with my third. It didn’t work out and I nearly died. So I am like, ‘Are we good here or should we go back and try again?’ ”

Paltrow also admitted to feeling a twinge to have another baby when she sees friend and new parents Jay-Z and Beyonce with their daughter, Blue Ivy. Mrs. Carter recently talked about her own miscarriage in her HBO documentary Life Is But A Dream.

“Their babyBlue Ivy is totally delish,” she said. “She’s made me very broody.”

Paltrow didn’t say when she suffered the miscarriage, but she did praise her husband — Coldplay frontman Chris Martin — for being the best father possible for their children.

“Regardless of what happens in our marriage, I chose the best husband,” she said.

“[Chris] is so good to the children and to know that you had kids with such a good man is a real weight off you,” she added. “We are committed co-parents, we make all the decisions together and lean on each other for support.”

Paltrow’s last pregnancy wasn’t particularly easy for the Academy Award and Golden Globe Award winning actress either.

“I couldn’t connect with my son the way that I had with my daughter and I couldn’t understand why. I couldn’t connect to anyone. I felt like a zombie,” the Iron Man star said. “I felt very detached. I just didn’t know what was wrong with me. I couldn’t figure it out. It never occurred to me.”

It wasn’t until Martin said something that Paltrow realized she was suffering from postpartum depression.

“Something’s wrong. I think you have postnatal depression,” Martin told his wife.

Now, however, Paltrow said she embraces the relationship she has with her son, which includes spending hours laying out Lego pieces for her “kind and cuddly” Moses.

As The Atlantic points out, no one said it better than Jezebel’s hilarious Lindy West — who even before Paltrow’s elimination diet book came out summed up the celeb gossip sport of Gwyneth mockery by first admitting it’s an old habit but adding:

” … the thing is that she just keeps doing stuff. I’m supposed to stop making fun of her just because we already made fun of her a bunch some other time? When she insists on continuing to do hilarious stuff? NNNNNOPE, SORRY.”

West continued:

“Commitment to whimsy + clueless gusto + impenetrable privilege = the world’s best comedy. And making fun of her is pretty much a victimless crime because she’s literally the queen of earth and space.”

And Paltrow is on Gwyneth-brand with the elimination diet thing, a tome that was inspired by what Gwynnie thought was a major stroke but turned out to be a headache and anxiety leading her to begin tossing foods from her daily rotation. But what would have been an “oh, I see” for any other patient led Paltrow on a quest to turn a hypochondriac episode into a cookbook, after directed by her doc to “no coffee, no alcohol, no dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no shellfish, no deep-water fish, no wheat, no meat, no soy, nothing processed at all!”

Not really sure what that leaves for anyone to eat on Paltrow’s elimination diet? Us either. It seems we will all have to wait for these nutritional nuggets of wisdom from Gwyneth until the book is released to the sweating hordes on April 2.

Famously camera shy Gwyneth Paltrow has shared an intimate photo of herself and her two children, Apple, eight, and six-year-old Moses, from when they were holidaying in St Lucia.

Posting the image on the website Goop, alongside various other snaps from her stay at a luxury resort on the Caribbean island, she wrote, “We are just back from an amazing (and sadly short) holiday at Sugar Beach – A Viceroy Resort in St Lucia. It was heaven.”

The photos show her children playing in the sea and sand, and also see her refer to her son as ‘Mosey,’ in an image that sees him drinking from a coconut whilst wearing a pair of sunglasses. She also added the caption, “No, that’s not a pina colada,” to ease any fans worries that she might be supplying her son with alcohol.

Her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin, is no where to be seen in the photos, which also feature numerous glimpses of Paltrow in a black and white striped bikini.

The actress also took time to tell Goop’s newsletter that she will change her eating habits in 2013. “I am not on a detox. I am not on a diet. I know, New Year’s cleansing and all that. Not this year. Can’t do it. Maybe later in the year. Maybe in the spring,” stated Paltrow. “So far now, I would like to continue with my pasta and cheese, but perhaps be more mindful of ingredients.”

The mother of two is set to release her second cookbook in the near future.

Some of the biggest names in film, music and entertainment have come together in a video entitled “Demand A Plan To End Gun Violence.”

Timed to perfection to follow the NRA’s press conference, among the stars involved in the video were; Steve Carell, Julianne Moore, Jennifer Aniston, Jamie Foxx, Ellen DeGeneres, Beyonce, Will Ferrell, Michelle Williams, John Hamm, Chris Rock, Jessica Alba, Conan O’Brien, Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeremy Renner and Sarah Silverman.

The video begins with a list of some of the locations of the worst shootings in US history — Columbine, Virginia Tech, Tuscon, Aurora, Fort Hood … Newtown — before the celebrities repeatedly ask:

“How many more? How many more colleges? How many more classrooms? How many more movie theaters? How many houses of faith? … Enough.”

Clearly inspired by the atrocity visited on 27 innocents in America last week, the video is the initiative of the “Mayors Against Illegal Guns campaign.”

The campaign was reportedly launched in July after the Aurora, Colo., movie theater shootings, and it already rides a wave of over 700, 000 signatures on a petition headed “Demand a plan to end gun violence.”

The Hollywood Reporter notes that the petition’s aim is to support gun reform legislation that would make background checks a requirement for anyone wanting to buy a gun, calls for a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and would also make gun trafficking a federal crime.

In a clear message to NRA executive vice president, Wayne LaPierre and ordinary Americans who have been asked by President Obama to get behind the gun control proposals currently being formulated, Hollywood said “enough.”

Coldplay’s Chris Martin has been offered a free home fire safety visit by the London Fire Brigade, after his wife, actress Gwyneth Paltrow, revealed that he has twice called 999 after almost burning down their home.

Paltrow appeared on Channel 4′s cookery show, Jamie and Jimmy’s Food Fight Club, on Wednesday evening, and revealed that when he has tried to cook dinner for the duo, “He has twice cooked a meal and this is not a joke, both times the fire brigade came. I swear on my life – both times.”

Dave Brown, London Fire Brigade’s Head of Operations, Prevention and Response, released a statement saying, “People often think that fires only happen to vulnerable people but young professionals have a quarter of all house fires in London. Chris will know that fires can develop almost at the “Speed of Sound” so it’s important that when they’re cooking, people don’t have “A Rush of Blood to the Head” and leave their cooking unattended causing a lot of “Trouble”.

Brown then added, “Three out of five house fires start in the kitchen so at this time of year with the family coming round from Christmas dinner it is important to follow our advice.”

Last night, Martin performed at 12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief at New York’s Madison Square Garden, playing Coldplay’s “Viva La Vida” and was then joined by Michael Stipe to sing REM’s “Losing My Religion.”

Gwyneth Paltrow has been making gossip rounds lately over a rumor that she’s planning to have another baby. She addresses the rumor in a recent interview, weighing the pros and cons to either having more children or focusing on her career.

Speaking with UK’s InStyle magazine, Paltrow dished on the possibility of becoming a mother again. The 40-year-old actress said, “My brain says, ‘Oh, I think I’m done, the kids are big now and I don’t want to go back to changing diapers.’ But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, I’m old now!”

Paltrow has two children, daughter Apple and son Moses. Paltrow also talked about her busy schedule, admitting that she can’t have everything at once.

“I look for an interesting supporting part about once a year. That’s the most I can manage. Some women can do it and that’s fantastic, but I can’t. You make choices as a wife and mother, don’t you? You can’t have it all. I don’t care what it looks like.”

Paltrow rarely talks about her relationship with husband, Coldplay front-man Chris Martin, but talked a bit about the couple’s struggles. She says that their “temperaments” are something they struggle with from time to time.

“Artists are sensitive; there are ups and downs, mood-wise. Musicians need a certain gravitas and focus in order to write,” she said of her marriage to Martin. “The temperament that goes with someone who is creative can be challenging.”

Christened Benjamin Géza Affleck-Bold, but more commonly known by his other moniker, Ben Affleck is the name on most film critics’ lips right now.

After rapturous reception at Telluride and the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) for the Affleck directed (and acted in) Argo, Oscar talk is in the air — and, for once — unfettered with undeserved hype.

Those who’ve seen the film are calling it a milestone moment for Affleck and, more, exactly the kind of material likely to get Academy voters’ juices flowing.

Nutshelled: Argo is a thriller about a mission to rescue six US hostages from a besieged Canadian embassy in Tehran, by pretending to cast them as actors in a sci-fi film. The cast features solid names — John Goodman, Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, Scoot McNairy — and a smorgasbord of others.

Reasons vary, but the consensus is Argo delivers on all fronts: tense, funny, and compelling. Based on the real life events of the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis and an operation imagined, and led, by CIA agent Tony Mendez — it’s a smart movie for a smart moviegoer.

This is all great news for Affleck.

After coming to most people’s (of a certain age) attention in 1997′s Chasing Amy, Affleck also got his first taste of Oscar nectar in 1997 with his friend Matt Damon, for Good Will Hunting. The duo shared ‘Best Original Screenplay’, Robin Williams nabbing ‘Best Supporting Actor’ to bring home two Oscars. A Golden Globe in 1998 for ‘Best Screenplay’ capped a great run.

Enter the paycheck gigs, amid some worthy fare. Lead roles in chest-thumping commercial hits like Armageddon (1998), the exception to that being Dogma (1999), then Pearl Harbor (2001.) The more muscular Changing Lanes followed, but, then, so too did The Sum of All Fears in 2002.

Not a wholly bad crop. But perception, as they say, is everything. The thinking that Affleck had failed to live up to his promise and was now treading water, cemented by the lamentable Daredevil (2003). 2004′s Jersey Girl only underlined the rot.

But the origin of that meme wasn’t just Affleck’s films, it was his personal life. A high profile relationship with Gwyneth Paltrow in 1998 (a liaison that ultimately floundered), the same year Armageddon struck box office gold, appeared to confirm that the actor was becoming what Deadspin’s Tim Grierson called, “A celebrity tabloid figure—the hunk who had somehow won an Oscar.”

Then, came ‘Bennifer.’

A seemingly vacuous, paparazzi-happy-hour relationship with Jennifer Lopez, then at her most blingtastic, made the pair easy targets for ridicule. Who can forget the horror that was 2003′s Gigli? Or Affleck’s spellbindingly, cheesy cameo in Lopez’s “Jenny From The Block” video. The latter, coming off like an unconscious plea for an intervention.

Maybe someone did. Mercifully, ‘Bennifer’ imploded in 2004. With the advent of Jennifer Garner at the tail end of 2004, and marriage in June 2005, Affleck got serious.

2006 saw him deliver a numinous performance in Hollywoodland. His directorial debut came a year later with Gone Baby Gone and signaled the beginning of a definitive turnaround. Affleck’s brother, Casey, starred alongside Amy Ryan, who scored an Oscar nomination for her efforts.

Supporting roles In 2009’s State of Play and 2010’s The Company Men didn’t rock the boat, but they didn’t capsize it either. The Town, also released in 2010 saw Affleck direct again and star. It produced another Oscar teaser, this time for Jeremy Renner. In Hollywood’s eyes, Affleck was now a director of note.

And so, full circle, to Argo. Last month, renowned critic Roger Ebert unequivocally declared:

“The winner of the Academy Award for Best Picture will be Ben Affleck’s tense new thriller “Argo.” How do I know this? Because it is the audience favorite coming out of the top-loaded opening weekend of the Toronto Film Festival.”

Success at TIFF, seen as a litmus indicator for the Oscars [see The King’s Speech, The Artist, No Country For Old Men] is a fantastic place for a contender to make its mark. And Argo did.

As 2012 nears to a close, Affleck’s name is now spoken of as it was back in 1997. But this time, with respect not for an ingenue, but as someone for whom the way back was no certain thing. He might not be talking Oscars, but everyone else is. ‘Bennifer’ who?

Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly working on a musical based on the 80s pop band The Go-Go’s, according to the folks at The Hollywood Reporter. The Iron Man star, who is also best friends with Hollywood A-lister Cameron Diaz, will produce the proposed project alongside Donovan Leitch and Rick Ferrari. No word when this production is expected to get off the ground.

If all goes according to Gwyneth’s master plan, the upcoming musical will chronicle the life and times of Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, Gina Schock, and Paula Jean Brown. Naturally, the musical would spend a great deal of time on the songs produced by the 80s group during their heyday. Reports indicate that several members of The Go-Go’s could participate in the project, which is rumored to include the penning of new material.

Gwyneth Paltrow also recently teamed up with fashion designer Nicole Richie to deliver a series of exclusive, limited edition offerings via the actress’ “GOOP Collection.” One such fashion-oriented product currently up for grabs is the so-called “Addison” handag, which People describes as “a classic snakeskin clutch in oxblood and teal with a jaguar closure on top.” This particular item will reportedly set you back around $225.

“Creating an exclusive piece for GOOP was a wonderful experience. The Addison clutch is a staple in [my] collection and we felt it would be the perfect piece to complement everyone’s wardrobe,” Richie explained.

In addition to her fashion line and the proposed Go-Go’s musical, Paltrow will appear in the forthcoming Marvel comics movie Iron Man 3, which finds the multihyphenate reprising her role as Tony Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts. The film — which also stars Robert Downey Jr., Guy Pearce, Don Cheadle, William Sadler, and Ben Kingsley — is scheduled to hit theaters on May 3, 2013.

“When Apple as born, she had the hugest blue eyes. I looked into them, and she was looking at me, and I felt like, you are here to teach me everything. “Apple was cross as I only let them watch TV in French or Spanish. When I’m in France, I go to Boulevard Beaumarchais and buy all their cartoons.”

Speaking to the SF Gate Paltrow admits that focusing on her kids has become her priority. Paltrow says of being a parent:

“I haven’t starred in a movie since I was pregnant with my daughter; I can’t be away from home that long. I look for an interesting supporting part I can do about once a year. Gwyneth Paltrow went on to talk about her “draconian diet” which according to the actress she has eased off of over the last several months. Paltrow notes:

“I was very strict for a while, I was macrobiotic for a couple of years, then I got pregnant and just ate ice cream. What I’ve learned is that I want to enjoy my life, and food is a big part of it. I love to cook and feed people. I cook every day … My indulging is a fresh baguette with cheese and a glass of red wine or french fries and fried zucchini. Or a turkey burger.”

Just one day after appearing at MTV’s Video Music Awards to co-present an exclusive preview of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2 final trailer, the Brit actor joined a host of stars at a Stand Up 2 Cancer fundraising special on Friday.

Pattinson joined stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Katie Kouric, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Samuel L. Jackson, Samuel L. Jackson, Julia Roberts, Michael Douglas, Seth Rogen and Matt Damon at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The Cosmopolis star was not announced as a speaker before the event, so it was massive surprise to viewers when he followed The Bourne Legacy star Jeremy Renner onstage.

“See, this is what happens when you support this movement,” Pattinson said.

“Every cent goes to the kind of research that is finding real breakthroughs and changing the lives of patients and their families right now.”

Interviewed backstage, the 26-year-old spoke further about why he felt supporting Stand Up 2 Cancer was so important.

“Anyone who’s making a significant contribution to stopping cancer, I mean it kind of has to be done … everybody knows a bunch of people … who’ve died and survived [from cancer].”

The third year in Stand Up 2 Cancer’s history, the event raised $ 81 million in pledges with 100% of all public donations going directly to cancer research. Executive produced by Gwyneth Paltrow and Joel Gallen, the telecast was shown on all four big networks and multiple cable channels.

This isn’t the first time Pattinson has been involved in this particular issue. Last year, he endorsed the work of ‘Cancer Bites’ at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards. And more recently the actor helped raise over $ 50, 000 for the homeless in Arizona.

As quick as the singer placed the kiss, he was gone just as quick and back on the stage to finish out the set. However, that didn’t stop fans from whipping their cell phones out to capture the sweet moment between husband and wife.

In the video, Gwyneth not only seems shocked but overwhelmed by the gesture and the attention from the crowd. The actress covered her face and bent down, smiling all the while. While Coldplay was gearing for their Miami concert, the two were spotted in Florida being affectionate at a Fontainebleau Resort during a romantic night for the two.

Paltrow and Martin, who have been married for 11 years aren’t usually affectionate with each other, and don’t readily talk about each other in public. Martin, who never had a serious relationship before Paltrow admitted in an interview with CBS News that it was like “winning the lottery.” During a Rolling Stone interview Martin also shared sentiments about his relationship. “Being married to someone very successful and very powerful basically keeps you hungry to improve. US Weekly reports that Paltrow and Martin have been splitting time between New York City and England but will now be moving out to the west coast. The $10.45 million home is in the Mandeville Canyon neighborhood and features 8,000-square-feet home, 6 bedrooms, a huge gourmet kitchen, and horse stables in the backyard.

The Spanish-Colonial/Mid-Century modern home, which was designed by Windsor Smith, sits on a sprawling estate that is lined with “venerable oaks and shady sycamores.”

Yahoo reports that the “House of Windsor” was featured in Veranda Magazine and was originally listed at $11.96 million. Although the home was designed by Smith, several other architects designed individual rooms. Candace Barnes, Peter Dunham and Kathryn Ireland all designed at least one room in the house.

Paltrow and Martin have been married since December 2003. They have two children together. Daughter Apple, 8, and son Moses, 6.

Gwyneth Paltrow got into some trouble earlier this week for sending out a tweet containing the N-Word.

Paltrow tweeted a picture of Jay-Z and Kanye West performing a concert in Paris, and wrote:

“Ni**as in paris for real. @mrteriusnash (the dream).”

The Hollywood Gossip reports that the tweet was sent out to Paltrow’s 975,000 followers and most of them were unhappy that the actress used the N-word.

Paltrow defended herself, saying:

“Hold up. It’s the title of the song!”

But that still wasn’t good enough for some people. One user took offense to the fact that Paltrow was addressing The Dream, who has nothing to do with the song. The user wrote:

“Lets be very clear she called a group of black men that have nothing to do with the song ‘Ni**as’. Are Kanye and Jay-z in the picture? No. She is specifically calling The Dream and Ty Ty real ‘Ni**as In Paris’ in that moment… There was no need for that. She’s the one that connected the two, They have nothing to do with the song.”

Paltrow didn’t write the entire word. Instead, she wrote a bleeped out version. She was also at a concert where Jay-Z and Kanye West were performing “Nig**s In Paris.” If there’s one time where it may be excusable for Paltrow to use that word, that would have been the time.

But, according to US Weekly, it wasn’t even Paltrow who sent out the Tweet. Producer The Dream (real name Terius Nash) wrote:

“FYI, sorry for the confusion. I typed ‘N—– in Paris for real from Gwen’s phone, my bad… Please excuse it! We were lit.”

Gwyneth Paltrow, in an interview on The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet, admitted that it wasn’t until husband Chris Martin brought her behavior to her attention that she realized she suffered from postpartum, or post-natal depression.

The Oscar-winning actress informed viewers that following the birth of son Moses in April 2006:

“I couldn’t connect with my son the way that I had with my daughter and I couldn’t understand why. I couldn’t connect to anyone. I felt like a zombie. I felt very detached. I just didn’t know what was wrong with me. I couldn’t figure it out. It never occurred to me.”

She said that one day Martin, frontman for band Coldplay, finally told her, “Something’s wrong. I think you have postnatal depression.” At first Paltrow flatly denied it, but the looking back at the symptoms, and how she was acting, she finally admitted she was having problems.

Gwyneth Paltrow initially felt like she was a failure at mothering, but eventually realized that post-natal depression is more prevalent than we realize. she insists that:

“We think that it makes us bad mothers or we didn’t do it right, but it’s like, we’re all in this together. I never understand why mothers judge other mothers, like, ‘What do you mean you didn’t breastfeed? What do you mean you didn’t do this?’”

Paltrow goes on to say that, “There’s a shame attached to it because if you say, ‘I had a baby and I couldn’t connect to the baby,’ it’s like, ‘What is wrong with you?’” She believes that those who suffer from postpartum depression never fully recover, but states that:

“That’s why I talk about it, because even the awareness of it started to diminish it. Because I didn’t feel like I’m dying or I’m crazy – period. It’s like, ‘Oh, this is a thing. This is a real thing and these are the symptoms and I have them all.’”

While writing the words to a book published in her name may sound a bit plebeian for the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, the haughty actress insists that she wrote every word in her cookbook herself, excoriating the New York Times for suggesting otherwise.

To be fair, Paltrow’s rep as an entitled brat does precede her- last summer, the actress denied allegations that she dressed someone down for offering her maid a ride out in the Hamptons. Paltrow’s most recent update to her Facebook page is a refutation of a New York Times article on ghostwriters, in which Paltrow’s cookbook “My Father’s Daughter” is used as the primary image. Underneath the pic, a caption reads: “Gwyneth Paltrow’s ghostwriter is Julia Turshen.”

Way buried on the third page, the article (“I Was A Cookbook Ghostwriter“) quotes Turshen, who is probably looking for a new gig as we speak. Turshen apparently crossed a line in coming out to the Times, and the piece says:

But [ghostwriting cookbooks] can also be a gateway to better things. Julia Turshen, who is writing a second cookbook with Gwyneth Paltrow after their collaboration on “My Father’s Daughter,” began as the ghostwriter for the ghostwriter on a book by Mario Batali, tagging along with a notebook as the chef filmed a culinary romp through Spain.

Well, someone isn’t telling the truth- because on Facebook, Paltrow dismisses the allegations wholesale. She huffs:

“Love @nytimes dining section but this weeks facts need checking. No ghost writer on my cookbook, I wrote every word myself.”

One of the things we all know about Gwyneth Paltrow is that she kind of epitomizes the bubble of privilege, frequently invoking the ire of pretty much everyone else on the planet when she pulls her “I’m a mom just like you!” schtick or just basically being born on third base and acting like she hit a triple.

Paltrow has attempted to fashion herself as a bit of a hipper Martha Stewart, offering up lifestyle tips on her website GOOP and advocating foods, practices and products that are- for most families- a bit out of reach. But she always comes back around to her version of “I’m totally accessible Gwynnie!” which usually just manages to piss everyone off.

Interestingly, it seems that Paltrow has finally managed to relate to some average moms- while alienating a fair few others- speaking in a Bazaar interview on the topic of the expectations of motherhood, feminism, and the general conundrum of balance faced by many women with children nowadays. As a single mom with no choice but to work, though, I can see that even while speaking to some moms, her comments still smack a bit as being made by someone who has never had make hard choices other than Per Se or Nobu. What Paltrow said was in the context of advising a friend, and she commented:

“…I said this may not be feminist, but you have to compromise. It’s been all about you and you’re a big deal. And if you want what you’re saying you want—a family—you have to be a wife, and that is part of the equation. Gloria Steinem may string me up by my toes, but all I can do is my best, and I can do only what works for me and my family.”

Ah yes, Gloria Steinem. I remember that time she knocked on my door and gave me a stern talking to about casual use of the term “bitches and hoes.” So embarrassing, but I’m glad she is the All-Seeing Feminism Police to enforce these things. Anyway, Paltrow may have touched a nerve there with some, though others felt that it acknowledge some of what women have to think about every day, as well as the feeling that you are either being a good mom and housewife or a good feminist, but not both. Yet- in the demographic I already identified about- this part stings a little:

“I have little kids in school. I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when [husband and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin] comes home.”

Eep. I can only speak for myself and not all mommy bloggers- which I am only by merit of the facts people have exited my body and I blog by trade- that whether Gwyneth realizes it, that statement is loaded with judgment, double standard, sexism and yes, privilege. Especially in America- a place she’s said before she’s not too hot on- the single-income family is all but dead- and while you might identify with that statement in your heart or gasp love your career, being unable to live it (or worse, suffering the circumstance of a marriage that fell apart under strain or a child who needed you when you were in a mandatory meeting) makes you feel inadequate enough without someone with boatloads of money, a nanny and a Pilates trainer who lives at their house driving the knife a bit deeper.

Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t your typical Hollywood leading lady, she prefers hard work and a great diet over botox and plastic surgery. The actress graces this month’s Harper’s Bazaar and she tells the magazine “I’ll take my wrinkles” while admitting “I don’t like the Botox thing.”

Gwyneth admits in the magazine that “i eat whatever I want. I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable.” but she says her secret to staying fit and looking young is detoxing her body to “restart” her system. Gwyneth even sells a cleanse system on her goop.com website.

Her diet seems to work really well as she’s always fitting into body slimming dresses from Eli Saab and Stella McCartney to Emilio Pucci and Alexander McQueen.

Her biggest mistaken from time to time? In 2002 she didn’t like the way she wore her hair with the Alexander McQueen outfit, noting, “I think the hair was a mistake. I shouldn’t have had it braided.”

People say stupid things. For most of us, those stupid things are only heard by a handful of people. But for celebrities, well, they can spew their ignorance onto millions of people at a time.

Sense About Science (SAS), a charity which works to promote scientific knowledge, pointed out a few celebrities who made incorrect statements during 2011. Simon Cowell, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Snooki were all guilty of bad science in 2011.

Tracey Brown, managing director at SAS, told the Telegraph:

“It’s tempting to dismiss celebrity comments on science and health, but their views travel far and wide and, once uttered, a celebrity cancer prevention idea or environmental claim is hard to reverse. At a time when celebrities dominate the public realm, the pressure for sound science and evidence must keep pace.”

So what did the offending celebrities say?

Simon Cowell believes that he’s able to stay young and healthy by swallowing a handful of vitamins everyday. Ursula Arens, a dietitian at the British Dietetic Association, said that beside people who are sick, you can get enough vitamins from your daily intake of food alone.

Gwyneth Paltrowpraised a detox program for enhancing her mind while helping her shed a few pounds. But Dr Christian Jessen said that the body has its own detox system already in place with the liver and kidneys.

And Snooki, well, Snooki said that the ocean is salty because it’s practically all whale sperm. But Simon Boxall, an oceanographer at the University of Southampton, said “the salt in the sea comes from many millions of years of water flowing over rocks and minerals.”

Not whale sperm.

GQ typically praises the Hollywood elite for being the sexiest people on the planet, for being the most powerful, or for being the richest. But the magazine can also honors those “other” celebrities. Today GQ released “The 25 Least Influential People Alive” list, and apparently Gwyneth Paltrow and January Jones find themselves in that “other” category of celebrity.

Some choices on the list are obvious. Harold Camping, for instance, just can’t make the world end. He’s been trying for decades but every doomsday prediction has ended in embarrassment. After his last failed prediction, the rapture promising preacher has decided to retire his fire and brimstone speeches.

Some choices are less obvious, like, well, President Obama. GQ writes:

“Okay, so we’re cheating a bit with this one. He did order the raid that wiped Osama bin Laden off the face of the earth. But then he used that surplus of political capital to let everyone in Washington stick a boot in his ass. This is a man who should be the most transformational figure of the century. Hell, he promised to be that. Instead he wields all the power of a substitute teacher at night school.”

And then there are some that we can probably all agree on. After ridiculing Gwyneth’s cookbook and her endless award show appearances, GQ asks: Is it any wonder we all loved watching her die in Contagion?

Paltrow- who grew up the rich, blonde child of two Hollywood-connected parents, has spoken out again about her cutting-edge coming of age experiences, specifically being at the forefront of the reform of race relations in America. Paltrow’s ability to annoy and irritate by being simultaneously unaware of her privilege while condescending every other person in the rest of America is so prolific, and her recent comments about her dad’s work on an 80′s TV show as a testament to her being down-ness is so tone deaf it’s almost offensive.

HuffPo has a full battery of Paltrow’s latest comments about the cultural impact of her family, mainly due to her dad Bruce Paltrow’s show The White Shadow. (And the blog makes some notes about Paltrow’s perceptions about the show):

“And that show that he did — I mean, obviously we were there a lot, but it was interesting to see that culturally start to permeate. And he did a lot of ‘firsts’ on that show. He had the first interracial kiss ever. Gwyneth Paltrow who turned 39 on Tuesday partied like it was her 21st birthday and the next day she took to the web to talk about her hard partying night.

Paltrow tweeted:

“Nursing a horrific hangover at the jfk,” while adding, “Nothing like starting an overseas flight dehydrated. Where is the dog, I need the hair.”

After her tweet gal pal Ali Wentworth tweeted back:

“Happy Hang-over!!!! Heard it was CRAZY! Next year Paris!”

To which Paltrow replied:

“I was over served, its not my fault. Or is it?”

The tweet is a bit amusing since back in 2006 Paltrow told The Guardian:

“I’m not really a drinker. Like the last time I got drunk was on holiday in Spain three years ago,” and “I think it’s gross. I really don’t like drunk women; I think it is such a bad look. I think it’s very inappropriate and I don’t like it.”

Apparently she isn’t much of an adult since she also said:

“I don’t really have drunk friends. My friends are kind of adult; they have a drink. But they hold their liquor. I think it’s incredibly embarrassing when people are drunk. It just looks so ridiculous. I find it very degrading.”

I wonder if she found her own birthday to be “incredibly embarrassing.”

The last time Matt Damon and Gwyneth Paltrow appeared on screen together, it was in 1999 for The Talented Mr. Ripley. The two actors were both in their 20s while they filmed the Anthony Minghella picture. Now, more than a decade later, Damon and Paltrow have reunited on the big screen for Contagion.

Damon said that working with Paltrow this time around was a lot different than when they filmed The Talented Mr. Ripley. In the new movie, Damon and Paltrow are married in the new film. Paltrow’s character becomes sick from a mysterious virus and Damon tries to save his family.

Damon said:

“(Ripley) feels like a lifetime ago… I was reminded of just how amazing she is, she’s a really special actress. More so than anybody I’ve ever worked with, she’s got an ability to turn it on and off. Like she can just be talking about anything and then when they say, ‘Rolling,’ it’s like she snaps, she just locks in.”

Damon, who has been married to Luciana Barroso for nearly 6 years, has three kids now. The LA Times reports that Paltrow also has a few kids of her own, Apple and Moses, with Coldplay singer Chris Martin.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is preparing to play a sex addict in a new comedy, quite the departure from her recent Oscar-winning performance and cookbook creating role.

The 38-year-old A-lister has signed on to play Thanks For Sharing, where she’ll star next to Nip/Tuck star Joely Richardson and the always fun to watch Tim Robbins.

The move is being directed by The Kids are All Right screenwriter Stuart Blumberg, marking the first time he’ll step behind the camera.

Here’s the synopsis for the movie from Entertainment Weekly:

Thanks for Sharing tells the story of a group of people who bond over their sex addictions. Patrow’ll play Phoebe, a businesswoman who gets romantically involved with Joey, another addict played by Mark Ruffalo.

If you simply can’t get enough of Ruffalo and Paltrow together they are also already working together on 2012′s superhero flick The Avengers in which Ruffalo plays The Hulk and Paltrow revives her role as Pepper Potts from the Iron Man series.

Speaking of the upcoming sex addicted comedy Blumberg says:

“I couldn’t imagine actors more perfect than Gwyneth, Mark, Tim and Joely for this film,” while adding, “I can’t wait to see them bring these characters to life with their unique and formidable talents.”

Speaking with UK publication Telegraph:

“I am a great romantic—but I also think you can be a romantic and a realist,” while adding, “Life is complicated and long and I know people that I respect and admire and look up to who have had extramarital affairs.”

Paltrow went on to add:

“It’s like we’re flawed—we’re human beings and sometimes you make choices that other people are going to judge.”

She then admits:

“That’s their problem, but I really think that the more I live my life, the more I learn not to judge people for what they do. I think we’re all trying our best, but life is complicated.”

Paltrow then quickly added that her husband of eight years, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin is a “very nice” guy. We should note that just last month Gwyneth was talking about how hard marriage can be sometimes.

Lots of celebrities head out to the Hamptons on Long Island for at least part of the summer, occupying sprawling estates just a few hours east of Manhattan.

One such star is Gwyneth Paltrow- who, among other traits, is known for being a bit… snobby. When Paltrow isn’t writing about organic, artisanal and free-range foods on her blog Goop or complaining about how crass and uninteresting her fellow Americans are, she likes to kick back on an estate out in the Hamptons with her soft-rockstar husband.

Paltrow is no stranger to player haters who have complained her star power is largely due to being born to rich, famous parents. So it probably wasn’t a shock to her when a rumor began circulating she didn’t treat the help all that well when staying at her Hamptons hideaway. As the story goes, Paltrow’s maid was offered a ride to the star’s digs in the summer heat, and gladly accepted- which set the star off:

“Gwyneth was mad that the maid showed strangers where she lived,” the insider tells Us. “Gwyneth said, ‘Please don’t give my maid a ride again!’”

Reps for Paltrow deny the incident occurred, and says that Paltrow’s maid actually has a car, thank you very much. Alas, the tale probably gained traction- whether it happened or not- because the actions described sound a bit like something Paltrow could do, based on her public persona. Still, her rep insists:

“Her housekeeper has a car, and Gwyneth would never say something like that.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is pretty well-known in the media for a certain level of snobbery, and she often speaks of her aversion to living in America due to our boring dinner party conversations and other cultural shortcomings.

A few years back in an interview in Europe, Paltrow said of her newly adopted homeland that she preferred “living [in England] because [she doesn't] fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans.” Paltrow isn’t alone in her criticism of American food, either, but she recently said in an interview that she’d “I’d rather smoke crack than eat cheese from a can.”

Paltrow also said that her kids don’t go to McDonald’s, and that she doesn’t tell them about Happy Meal toys. The actress did admit to one vice with her organic, home-cooked meals:

“I drink constantly while I’m cooking,” she says. “Wine, either colour.”

At 38-years-old Gwyneth Paltrow looks stunning on the pages of Vanity Fair. The actress, who recently starred in several episodes of Glee posed for the magazine topless and wearing fishnets.

The revealing photo shoot also features a Louis Vuitton necklace, earrings and rings, while Paltrow covers her chest for a more modest outcome.

I challenge anyone to say Paltrow doesn’t look stunning and given her penchant for healthy living it doesn’t surprise me in the least.

You can catch the photo shoot in a special edition August issue of the magazine and I expect that particular issue to fly off the shelves for an obvious reason, which means you’ll want to run out and grab your copy as soon as possible.

Glee star and bastion of perfection Gwyneth Paltrow has finally graced Twitter with her presence.

Paltrow is not a stranger to new media, running a blog called “Goop” with such down to Earth advice as, “…as a home cook, one of the best things I’ve ever done was to build a wood burning oven in the backyard,” and relatable experiences, like “I just took a very impromptu first trip to Marrakesh, Morocco where I fell in love with the place, it’s magic!”

Paltrow is following approximately zero people so far, but has accumulated over 15,000 followers herself. The actress turned sometimes singer has but one tweet published so far, a link to a video- which kind of suggests she doesn’t really ‘get’ Twitter yet- the 19 second clip depicts Paltrow walking down a Manhattan street and is short- but not 140 characters short.

You can give that right up. Here’s a clip of Gwyneth Paltrow bringing her irritating waspiness to the show, singing a horrible version of Cee-Lo Green’s hit “Fuck You,” the censored version. It’s awful in myriad ways, beginning with how it manages to bring the Glee kids into the hokey horribleness, heretofore rendering the guilty pleasure irredeemably cheesy and unenjoyable. It actually out-cheesies 80s musical classic Teen Witch.

The FTC has hinted in an interview with Daily Finance that the rules about fairly disclosing comps in blog posts doesn’t apply to people who happen to be awash in a sea of free goodies.

Yes, you, poor mommy blogger, must disclose a sample of baby wipes you didn’t pay for, but people who are important and better than you like Gwyneth Paltrow deserve nice things and thusly don’t have to abide by FTC disclosure rules. While celebrity endorsement has way more pull than your average blogging nobody, details like that don’t matter much to the FTC- Rich Cleland, associate director of the Federal Trade Commission’s ad division, explains the spotty logic behind the favoritism:

The average consumer, Cleland said, might well be aware that celebrities of Paltrow’s stature often receive free clothing, trips and other swag. “It is one of the issues where celebrity endorsements are a little different than person-on-the-street endorsements,” he said. “Would consumers understand that celebrities are always getting free stuff? It’s a factual question.”

Back in October when the new rules became a blogging issue, Steve suggested celebrities might be in trouble considering the new guidelines, but we can all rest easy. People like Gwyneth Paltrow can continue trading their heavily weighted words for “ridiculously lavish” vacations. Sadly, it seems the regulations do only exist to marginalize independent bloggers. Because unfair advantages cannot be allowed to stand.

Gwyneth Paltrow is unhappy about criticism of her god-awful website Goop.

“I think the people who are criticizing it or criticizing the idea of it, don’t really get it, because if they did, they would like it,” Paltrow told People Magazine. The magazine said that Paltrow believes the criticism stems from the fact that she’s doing something new and different. “I think that people like people to stay in their ‘box’ – they like people to stay how they are.”

Actually, that’s not it, but where do you start. The longest line of text on the first page is the copyright statement. The advice is at times wacky, and the tone is regularly condescending. As one newspaper said, “Why is it called Goop? Perhaps ‘Any Old Load of Rubbish’ and ‘Learn From Me, Ungrateful Peasant’ were both taken.” It takes three clicks to read anything longer than a paragraph, despite the site adopting a minimalist look…and I could go one.

Paltrow is a talented actress, but that talent doesn’t extend to the web.

Gwyneth Paltrow’s most recent issue of her ridiculous GOOP newsletter told us all about her post-holiday weight loss plans, which are just as practical as her initial recommendations in September: “Read something beautiful” and “Don’t be lazy.”

Instead of her usual diet of choice, the Master Cleanse, she’s recommended something almost as painful from her “detox diet specialist”:

“As I do not wish to subsist on lemon water in the middle of winter, I asked my doctor, a detox diet specialist, for the guidelines he uses to achieve a good detox that is not as hallucinogenic (in a bad way) as the Master Cleanse,” she wrote. “What it came down to was this: you can detox easily and effectively while you continue to eat as long as you are cutting out the foods and other substances that interfere with the detoxification process.”

If you’re going to pull this one off, you can forget about most of what’s offered at the office canteen. I’m pretty sure a diet that cuts out anything processed (including soy), dairy, grains with gluten, shellfish, meat, nightshades (tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, and eggplants), sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and condiments will wear on you by about the third or fourth day, but you do get salads, smoothies, chicken, soups, and “lots of water,” reports People. Interestingly, Gwyneth told Oprah in 2008 that she “just can’t [diet],” instead preferring to “eat what I want and not think about it.” I wonder how much weight she thinks she gained if she’s trading in the treadmill for a cleanse of almost-Master proportions?

Page Six came out with the speculation that Gwyneth Paltrow is facing marriage difficulties and just might be heading to Divorce Town on the coattails of her friend Madonna! She was seen husband-free in Miami for the Victoria’s Secret show in Miami, where she posed it up looking severe and kind of like someone who might not be lucky in love.

The plot thickens because Gwyneth Paltrow has been seen hanging out with the Fontainebleau Resorts owner Jeff Soffer– referred to as “Miami Royalty” by Page Six– and was seen riding in his Bentley, hanging out on his yacht, and getting a private tour of the newly refurbished place.

Page Six reports that “Paltrow didn’t stay at the hotel with other guests, opting to ‘stay at a friend’s house instead for more privacy.’ While attending the Victoria’s Secret party and show, she ‘remained closed off in a private section and hung out with Soffer and Madonna paramour Alex Rodriguez.’”

A source added that “If things were so great with Chris, why wouldn’t she be with him?” Exactly!
