Have you missed seeing Lexie Grey on your television screen? Well, you’re about to see a lot more of her. Grey’s Anatomy alum Chyler Leigh is heading to her own series on NBC titled Holding Patterns.

Holding Patterns will be Chyler Leigh’s first foray into a sitcom. Unlike her character Lexie Grey, who died after she succumbed to injuries after a plane crash, her character in Holding Patterns actually survives a crash.

The multi camera NBC comedy sees Leigh part of “a group of friends whose lives completely change after they survive a plane crash.” According to the Hollywood Reporter, Leigh will play Leah, unlike Lezie Grey, this character s said to be a completely irresponsible, absent-minded slacker who lacks direction, but has a quick wit about her.

Here’s some more infor on Chyler Leigh’s new character for her NBC sitcom:

“She’s always been good at anything she tried and rather than attempt to become great has moved from one dead-end job to the next. She shares the ground floor of a Minneapolis duplex with her two best friends, Griffin and Sabrina.”

Holding Patterns is from The Office’s Justin Spitzer, who will be the head writer as well. Executive producers on the series are Peter Traugott and Rachel Kaplan. For Chyler Leigh, this is the first huge undertaking since she asked Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes out of her contract nearly a year ago.

“Earlier this year, I made the decision that Season eight would be my last on “Grey’s Anatomy.” I met with Shonda and we worked together to give Lexie’s story appropriate closure. I look forward to my next chapter and I hope you will continue to follow me on my journey.”

Though Dr. Meredith Grey and co. quit on Thursday night’s shocking episode of Grey’s Anatomy, the cast is still sticking around, according to series creator Shonda Rhimes.

“We’re not going to see any cast departures,” Rhimes told The Hollywood Reporter. The popular medical drama’s latest plot twist saw five doctors resigning from the hospital with the intention of buying it.

Grey’s Anatomy has taken a number of shocking twists lately. Thursday night’s entry follows the plane crash story arc which saw Mark (Eric Dane) and Lexie (Chyler Leigh) killed. Afterwards, the hospital awarded survivors Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Callie (Sara Ramirez), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw), and Cristina (Sandra Oh) a $15 million settlement each, which bankrupted Seattle Grace, according to MSN.

The doctors have decided to save their hospital with the money they were awarded, and are looking for an investment partner. Still, questions remain as to what is to come on Grey’s, including speculation about the shift in power among the hospital staff in light of the main cast’s shocking resignations.

“You’re going to see them feel the burden of what they’ve done,” Rhimes said of her cast of characters. ”It’s not that they weren’t right to do it, but there’s definitely a sense of resentment that comes from other people because they have this money and the money has now made everything harder for everyone else.”

Scott Foley will be appearing on Scandal for a “major arc” at the end of this season.

Foley, who previously had a supporting role in Grey’s Anatomy, is the latest inhabitant of “Shondaland” to cross over from one series to another, but his role is being kept very secret for the time being. What is known is that the current election fraud and assassination attempt storylines will be resolved by episode 13, which will air on February 13, and then a new arc will be in play for the season’s last nine episodes.

On Grey’s Anatomy, Foley played Henry Burton, a patient suffering from Von Hippel-Lindau disease. Burton can no longer afford his medical care, so he marries Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) in order to use her health insurance. He ends up dying during heart surgery.

After his character was killed off, Shonda Rhimes raved about Foley.

“We’re so in love with Scott Foley,” she said. “And we would’ve kept him [on Grey's] if we could.”

Before Foley, others who have crossed over into Scandal include: Jeff Perry (Cyrus Beene, President Grant’s chief of staff) who played Thatcher Grey, father of Meredith, Lexie, and Molly Grey; Kate Burton (Vice President Sally Langston), who played Ellis Grey, Thatcher’s ex-wife and Meredith’s mother; George Newbern (Charlie the assassin), who played Brian Reynolds in Private Practice, and Dan Bucatinsky (James Novak, Cyrus Beene’s husband and a reporter), who played Jeffrey in Grey’s Anatomy.

Foley’s transition into Scandal comes two months after Fox halted production on the comedy The Goodwin Games, in which Foley played Henry Goodwin.

You may laugh at the name of Patrick Dempsey’s alter-ego on Grey’s Anatomy, but you can’t laugh at his sense of determination. The actor most recently purchased failing Seattle-based coffee chain Tully’s, subsequently saving a multitude of employees their jobs. And it only cost his investment company, Global Baristas $9.15 million dollars! Who knew TV paid so well?

Dempsey says he beat out coffee colossus Starbucks for the smaller vendor, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection back in October of 2012. The company’s restructuring had forced the shutdown of 19 of its stores.

The television celebrity tweeted about the victory, saying Friday: “We met the green monster, looked her in the eye, and SHE BLINKED!” But the green eyed monster…er…mermaid, is singing a different tune.

Starbucks told CNN, (and wants the world to know) that it might have won the battle for Tully’s, as it did bid more. How much more you ask? 1.5 million dollars, which made their total offer $10.6 million. They also say that the final verdict won’t be made until January 11. The news does not seem to be stopping the Dreamy camp celebration.

According to E! News, Patrick Dempsey later released a lengthier official statement on the win: ”I’m thrilled that we won and I’m even more excited about saving Tully’s coffee and its hundreds of jobs. Tully’s is a great company with committed employees, and with its base in Seattle, one of the world’s greatest cities, I’m confident we will be able to successfully build the brand and grow the economy.”

The Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice will be ending after its current season, Deadline reports.

ABC decided not to give the medical drama a back nine pickup after putting in a 13-episode order for its sixth season in May. However, the network has decided to give two additional episodes to Grey’s Anatomy, giving the veteran series a 24-episode season. ABC is also giving comedies Modern Family and The Middle two additional episodes and mystery dramedy Castle one additional episode.

Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice creator and executive producer Shonda Rhimes recently decided that the spin off had run its course and that it was time to end the series. Rhimes broke the news to the cast and crew Friday and announced the decision to fans on Twitter. Rhimes wrote:

“I’m sad to say that Private Practice’s run will end after episode 613 this season. There was a lot of discussion and debate but, in the end, the guys at the network and the studio and I all decided that Private Practice was reaching its finish line. Creatively, we are all extremely proud of the show and especially proud of this season — which you will all soon discover is a creative renaissance. I can’t wait for you to see it.”

Rhimes said it was “heartbreaking” to end the series but that she felt lucky to write for the characters. She also said she was proud that the series went for more than 100 episodes, which is something many shows don’t accomplish.

Series protagonist and central character Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh) was already leaving the show after episode 13, so now that episode will be the series finale. Male lead Tim Daly, who played Dr. Pete Wilder, left the series at the end of season five after his character was sent to jail for euthanizing a patient.

The star of the Scream series will find her way to television sets this year as she has landed a new gig on Grey’s Anatomy, ABC confirmed to Access Hollywood on Thursday.

Fans of the series will get to see Neve Campbell as the sister of Dr. Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd on the show, though it’s not clear if she’ll also be playing a doctor as well.

The two have shared screentime before, co-starring in the 2000 installation of the Scream series, Scream 3. In the movie Dempsey played a detective who investigated the Ghostface murders and later took a romantic interest in Sidney, Campbell’s character.

On Grey’s Anatomy, Neve Campbell will become one of Shepherd’s four sisters. Other siblings for the show’s main male character have been played by Catelina Scorsone (now on Private Practice) and Embeth Davitz.

It’s already known that Patrick Dempsey’s character has another unseen sister, a psychiatrist named Kathleen, and that there’s a yet-unnamed fourth sister. It isn’t known exactly which one Neve Campbell will be playing, TVGuide.com reported.

Neve Campbell’s arrival come as Derek Shepherd is going into teaching since his hand isn’t back to full capacity after being mangled in a plane crash last season.

As TVLine.com reported, the former Party of Five star Neve Campbell will show up in Grey’s Anatomy for at least two episodes slated to air in December.

Her Grey’s Anatomy debut is the second set of big news for Neve Campbell this year. Earlier in the year she announced that she was pregnang, and in August she and partner J.J. Feild showed off their newborn during a family outing.

Neve Campbell is heading to Grey’s Anatomy. 

The ABC show wrote on Twitter: “Guess who’s coming to Seattle Grace? I’ll give you one hint…Party of Five!”

The star of Scream and Party Of Five has landed the role of of one of Derek Shepherd’s sisters. According to Broadway World, the long running show has frequently mentioned Shepherd’s sisters. Currently, his sister Amelia is being played by Caterina Scorsone.

Neve Campbell will play Kathleen, a psychiatrist  The exact story line involving the character isn’t known but the Scream actor is expected to appear in multiple episodes.

Campbell became a household names in the 90s when she starred in the hit show Party of Five. She went on to appear in movies like Wild Things, Drowning Mona, and the Scream franchise. She is set to star in the TV movie Sworn To Silence later this year.

Campbell will be new to the world of Grey’s Anatomy but Access Hollywood notes that she is familiar with a few of the show’s actors. Patrick Dempsey played Detective Mark Kincaid in the third Scream movie.

Did you know that Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane is neighbors with The Smashing Pumpkins front-man Billy Corgan? They are, but there’s reportedly no love lost between the two after Corgan almost killed Dane’s pregnant wife with a falling tree.

You could call “melodrama” on this one, but that’s exactly what a lawsuit filed from Dane against Corgan is all about, reports TMZ. Dane and wife Rebecca Gayheart filed the suit in LA County Superior Court, claiming that a tree from Corgan’s property crashed through the couple’s Beverly Hills home during a severe storm last year, flooding the house and breaking a power line.

Dane says that Gayheart, who was nine months pregnant at the time, had to quickly evacuate the flooding home, dodging live electrical wires on her way out.

Dane and family escaped the home, but the actor reportedly chose to launch the legal proceedings claiming that Corgan had been warned about the dangers of his eucalyptus trees, according to MSN.

Corgan has called the allegations “patently untrue,” insisting that he had never been warned about his trees and didn’t realize the danger until it was too late.

“I was horrified when I learned about the tree falling during what was a massive storm, a storm with winds strong enough to uproot a 50 ft tree by its base! Thankfully no one was injured,” Corgan said.

The rocker also said that he had an expert come in immediately to remove any other dangerous trees from his property. He says that Dane’s lawsuit is “a shame … because [Eric and Rebecca] are nice people.”

Dane and Gayheart are suing for nuisance, negligence, and injunctive relief. Damages demanded are unknown.

Patrick Dempsey may have given away a potential “Grey’s Anatomy” spoiler when he tweeted a picture of Eric Dane’s character in a hospital bed.

According to On The Red Carpet, the photo was posted on July 30, but taken down by Dempsey at the request of NBC. In the photo, Dane is shown in a hospital bed unconscious. ABC announced in July that the actor who plays Dr. Mark “McSteamy” Sloan in the popular drama would be leaving the next season.

The picture released by Dempsey shows that Dane’s character survive’s a plane crash, which was seen in the season finale in May, but rumors have said that his on-again-off-again girlfriend Lexie Grey doesn’t. Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes stated:

“When we start the season, we are ahead enough in time where we see the outcome of lots of things. And in the second episode of the season, there’s rewind – we go backwards – to where they’re still in the forest. So you see what happened and in the next episode, you see how we get there.”

Patrick Dempsey’s co-actor Eric Dane said of his decision to leave the show that:

“I am extremely grateful to everyone at ‘Grey’s,’ ABC and Shondaland for the experience and memories I have had over the course of this run. It has been wonderful to work alongside and learn from a creative force such as Shonda Rhimes.”

Entertainment Weekly notes that creator Shonda Rhimes went on to say of Dane that:

“It was a thing that Eric had been thinking about for a while, but it felt like the right time to him. I love Eric, and Eric and I have been working together for a very long time, so it was bittersweet. I’m happy he’s going to go on and do other things, but I’m really sad to not be able to work with him every day.”

Eric Dane is checking out of Grey’s Anatomy! In the season 8 finale of Grey’s Anatomy viewers witnessed a tearful goodbye from Meredith’s sister Lexie Grey (Chyler Leigh) who succumbed to her injuries after a plane carrying Seattle Grace Mercy West’s finest doctors crashed in the middle of the woods .

After the finale, series creator and head writer Shonda Rhimes promised viewers that the doctors, who at the finale’s end were still stranded, weren’t out of the woods yet and that we still might lose our favorites. Well, it looks like we have  confirmation on who we will say goodbye to during the premiere episode on September 27, and that’s Dr. Eric “McSteamy” Sloan.

Eric Dane, the actor who spilled the beans to TVLine revealed that after 6 seasons of playing Dr. Sloan that he too, was leaving the hit ABC show. Dane told TVLine, “I am extremely grateful to everyone at Grey’s, ABC and Shondaland for the experience and memories I have had over the course of this run. It has been wonderful to work alongside and learn from a creative force such as Shonda Rhimes.”

Grey’s Anatomy’s creator Shonda Rhimes also had encouraging words for Dane, her colleague, saying that the two, “did not come to this decision lightly, but after much consideration and conversations, he and I have decided that this is the right time for his storyline to end.” Rhimes continued, stating,  “We’re a big family here at Grey’s with a long history together and Eric will always remain an important part of our family.”

Eric Dane’s exit is the third character exit of season 8 of Grey’s Anatomy. Besides Lexie’s goodbye to her ex boyfriend Sloan, viewers also said goodbye to Kim Raver’s Teddy who’s character was fired from the hospital.

It’s been a long road for Private Practice’s Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery. Kate Walsh, the actress who plays the raven haired doctor started portraying the doctor on Grey’s Anatomy in 2005 and managed to survive her very own spin-off. Now Walsh confirms that the shortened sixth season of Private Practice will be her last.

The actress took the opportunity to make the announcement public on Bethenny, the new talk show from reality star Bethenny Frankel. According to several sources the interview is set to air on Wednesday. During the interview Kate Walsh said, “This is my last season for Private Practice… It’s been an incredible journey an amazing ride. I’m hugely, hugely grateful.”

Her exit isn’t the only one from the medical drama. It was announced that Tim Daly was also leaving after five seasons on the show. Walsh went on to discuss her time on the show, “It’s been a long time being Addison,” she continues. “I feel incredibly grateful to Shonda Rhimes and all the fans that have been there from Day 1 to now. I’m really excited about the last season.”

Following Daly’s announcement that he was no longer going to be on Private Practice, creator and head writer of both Grey’s and Private Practice explained the changes the show has taken for the abbreviated sixth season. “There’s a lot of budgetary issues on that show,”  Rhimes continued telling TVGuide Magazine. “We need to make sure the show is viable and that we can produce it.”

Even though Kate Walsh has announced her decision to leave that doesn’t exactly mean the show won’t go on without her, Rhimes explained. “I have been told that I’m not allowed to think of us only doing 13 episodes.” Private Practice is set to return on its new day of Tuesday in a 10 pm time slot in the fall.

If you haven’t seen the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy, stop reading! Grey’s Anatomy’s creator, the woman behind the show, and the spin off Private Practice, as well as the new ABC hit Scandal has been fielding questions about the decision to kill off a fan favorite Lexie Grey, as well as sending lead cardio surgeon Teddy Altman packing in the season finale that aired May 17.

Grey’s fans can usually count on Shonda Rhimes to deliver adrenaline pumping season finales, complete with scenes that bring on the waterworks. This season finale was a little different, as it followed 6 of the beloved doctors dealing with the aftermath of being in a plane crash, and fans didn’t watch their journey as most just felt stuck there with them. It was promised that a lead character would meet their final end, and in the first 15 minutes Lexie Grey, played by Chyler Leigh, met her journey’s end after 5 years on the show.

Shonda Rhimes took to twitter, not to address  questions on whether or not the doctors would make it home and survive, but to talk about the difficulty of writing two character’s journeys coming to an end, tweeting, “This finale was incredibly hard to write. I did not enjoy it. It made me sick and it made me sad. We end the season not knowing ANYTHING about the future. Except for two things. We know we are definitely saying goodbye to two of my favorite people: Chyler Leigh (Lexie) and Kim Raver (Teddy).”

Continued in the tweet Rhimes tweeted about her thought process behind the death of Lexie Grey and the firing of Teddy Altman, and how she ultimately came to making two very hard decisions. “I know this season’s finale had some surprises for viewers and the exit of Kim Raver was one of the big ones. But Kim’s series option was up and she was ready to give Teddy Altman a much-needed vacation. It’s been a pleasure working with someone as talented and funny and kind as Kim; everyone is going to miss her terribly. I like to imagine that Teddy is still out there in the Grey’s Anatomy universe, running Army Medical Command and building a new life.”

Katherine Heigl is a known for her opinionated spirit and uncomplimentary mouth in Hollywood. However, this time around the former Grey’s Anatomy actress opens up about something entirely different–motherhood.

Katherine Heigl sat down with German Weekly newspaper Bild am Sonntag to discuss the trials and tribulations during the first few months of raising her adopted daughter Naleigh. Heigl revealed to the newspaper that while she was anticipating the joys of motherhood, she felt stunted as a new mother when Naleigh arrived from South Korea.

“People are always talking about the strong bond between mother and daughter, this magical connection – but we didn’t have that,” Heigl says.

At the time her daughter Naleigh (short for Nancy Leigh) came, Heigl had just finished filming Grey’s Anatomy and was beginning her new filming schedule for the romantic comedy Life As We Know It. Katherine went on to describe those tumultous days as, “the hardest time in my life. … I fought incredibly hard for my daughter to accept me as mother. Her rejection almost broke my heart.”

Dealing with those oppressive days weren’t easy for Heigl, and instead of trying to stick it out, the actress threw herself back into work. “[It] made the already difficult process of getting closer take even longer. … When I realized that, I immediately cut back on work.” That’s when she left the hit soap Grey’s Anatomy for good.

One thing that bothered the actress is that her child didn’t have a hard time bonding with husband and country singer Josh Kelley. “At first I blamed myself and thought I was a bad mother. It took a while before I could admit to myself that the lack of trust had nothing to do with me,” she says.

However now with work and dedicating herself to making it work, Katherine Heigl’s relationship with her daughter Naleigh, now 4 years old, is stronger than ever. “I’d like to fly to South Korea with the family,” she says, “to show her the country that she comes from.”

Katherine Heigl has come out and said it, yes she said it, she is really really sorry she left Grey’s Anatomy.  She is so upset about it she doesn’t even watch the show anymore.

Heigl told TVLine.

“It just makes me sad … I feel like I’m missing the party. I live about five minutes from the studios, so I have to physically hold myself [back] from just popping in and being like, ‘Hey guys — whatcha doin’?”

Heigl left her role as Dr. Izzie Stevens on “Grey’s Anatomy” after five seasons in 2010 to focus on her movie career. Now, it’s seemingly all the actress can talk about.

“I really, really, really want to see where [Izzie] is. I just want to know what happened to her and where she went and what she’s doing now.”

Supposedly she has already reached out to the writers of the show and let them know she wants to get back involved.

After spilling her guts about wanting to return to Seattle Grace she again brought it up on the View.

“I always felt that if they wanted me to come back and sort of wrap up that storyline. I want them to know that I’m down with it if they want me to, but I completely understand if it doesn’t necessarily work.”

Although Heigl has yet to be approached by the “Grey’s” writers she’s not giving up hope just yet.

“You never know,” teased Heigl.

In  2010 the infamous mouthy actress Katherine Heigl opted out of her Grey’s Anatomy contract where she played Isobel “Izzie” Stevens on the hit medical drama for nearly six years.

Well, now she says she wants back in! During a recent interview for promotion for her new film One For The Money, Heigl says that she would “Really, really, really, want to see where she is. I just want to know what happened to her, and where she went, and what she’s doing now. My idea is that she actually figures it out and finds success. She was always floundering and one step behind the 8-ball. I want to see that girl take some power back.”

Although coming back to the show to reprise her role won’t be the easiest thing in the world, and Katherine Heigl realizes this, stating, “there’s about 40 different storylines, so I don’t know if it fits in to their sort of vision for this season or next or however many seasons it goes.”

The actress claimed she didn’t leave due to minced words over the lack of good writing for her character in season 4, or the complaining over the hours she worked on the show, but rather the time away from her daughter, Naleigh whom she adopted in 2010.

Fans are already excited about the news and what this might mean for her past love interest Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). In fact, a Facebook campaign called “1 Million To Get Izzie Back On Grey’s” was started to get the star back on the show.

With ratings plummeting and the cast in negotiations, this might just be what the doctor ordered.

45-year-old Patrick Dempsey has become a household name thanks to his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (though whether it’s his name or “McDreamy”, I do not know). Even though Grey’s is coming back strong for its 8th season this fall, Dempsey has dropped several hints that he might not be coming back.

Why, McDreamy, why?

Because the actor wants to pursue his passion. No, not acting. Racing.

On Sunday, while testing his car for an upcoming race at the Daytona International Speedway, Dempsey told reporters:

“The biggest point for me in negotiations is getting time off to come race, so if I don’t miss races, I’ll probably stay on Grey’s Anatomy,“

Last year, Dempsey did say that the 7th season would be his last, but his publicist crushed the resulting hysteria by clarifying that Dempsey was merely referring to his contract being up. Though it seems that between Grey’s and racing, Dempsey would pick the latter every time, he did express openness to return to the show should the producers conform to his schedule:

The sport is “my real passion,” he said. “But I also enjoy the show. It keeps me in town so I can be around my family. So we’ll see. Hopefully we can work out a deal.”

He plays a doctor on TV and now Grey’s Anatomy actor Eric Dane will be looked after by real doctors during his stay at an undisclosed rehab center as he battles an addiction to painkillers.

The actors reps have disclosed that “Dr. Mark Sloane” has voluntarily checked himself into rehab, noting:

“Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus.”

While Dane may have checked into rehab, it’s going to be a short stay with the actor expected to return to work on Thursday. His reps continued:

“He reports back to work this week. Business as usual.”

Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart are currently have been married since 204 and they are currently awaiting the arrival of their second child.

Grey’s Anatomy star, 27 year old Chyler Leigh (who plays Dr. Lexie Grey on the show), gave birth to a healthy 7lb 1oz baby girl early Thursday morning at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Chyler Leigh and her husband, actor Nathan West, named the newest addition to their family Anniston Kae. Little Anniston is the couple’s third child and is sister to their oldest son Noah Wilde who is 5 and daughter Taelyn Leigh, 2.

Chyler Leigh plays Dr. Lexie Gray on the hit ABC hospital drama Grey’s Anatomy. She’s the half sister of Dr. Meredith Grey played by Ellen Pompeo who is also expecting a baby in a few months.

Grey’s Anatomy actress Ellen Pompeo and her husband Chris Ivery are expecting their first child.

A statement released by the pairs rep confirmed the news, saying that the Pompeo and Ivery were “ecstatic” but gave no further details. The disclosure follows Pompeo being spotted in Los Angeles shopping for baby clothes recently.

Pompeo and Ivery married in 2007 after dating for four years. 39 year old Pompeo has played the lead Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy since the show first went to air in 2005.

Actor T.R. Knight has asked to be released from his contract with ABC’s hit show Grey’s Anatomy.

According to an exclusive from EW, the request is set to be granted by ABC and Grey’s show-runner Shonda Rhimes with a source saying “They’re working out the details now.”

Contrary to other reports, Knight is said to be still working on the show, and hasn’t walked out, at least not yet.

Knight was the center of a scandal in 2007 involving Isaiah Washington referring to him as a faggot (Knight is gay). Various reports since have Knight being unhappy working on the show despite Washington being fired.

Katherine Heigl may have spent years and years clawing her way up to be an “overnight sensation,” but she’s got a diva attitude mastered for sure. After announcing that she was pulling her name from the Emmy list because she wasn’t “given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination,” thankfully one Grey’s Anatomy “insider” put her in her place. She had this one coming to her:

The show bent over backwards to accommodate her film schedule, and then she criticizes the show for lack of material? It’s an ungrateful slap in the face to the very writers responsible for her Emmy win in the first place.
