Donald Trump gave up his chance to be president so that he could host another season of “Celebrity Apprentice.” And let’s be thankful that he did. The cast this year includes former late night host Arsenio Hall, angry comedian Adam Carolla, and Tia Carrere who played the smoking hot singer Casandra in “Wayne’s World.”

The 18-person cast includes American Idol singers, race car drivers, motorcycle builders, pop stars, and magicians.

Trump told the Hollywood Reporter:

“It’s hard to top the last few seasons but we think we’ve done it… I think we have a great, very diverse cast.”

Trump said that the 12th season of the “Celebrity Apprentice will follow the same formula as past seasons. The celebrity contestants will compete for $250,000 for the charity of their choice.

Trump added:

“We didn’t want to change much — we’re not looking to reinvent the show in its 12th season…”

“What’s needed today, now, more than ever, is ‘Star Peace’ for there is an ominous, mutual threat to all science fiction. It’s called ‘Twilight’. And it is really, really bad,” said the 74-year-old who is most known for playing Hikaru Sulu on the original “Star Trek” TV series.

Takei’s call for peace among sci-fi lovers comes after videos of William Shatner and Carrie Fisher went viral with the former deriding “Star Wars” and the latter taking digs at “Star Trek.”

 ”Gone is any sense of heroism, camaraderie, or epic battle. In its place we have vampires that sparkle, moan and go to high school,” Takei continued. “Now I’m not above mixing in a little sex appeal to spice up the fantasy, but sci-fi fans be warned, there are no great stories, characters or profound life lessons to be found in Twilight. No, in Twilight the only message that rings through loud and clear is: ‘Does my boyfriend like me?’”

According to a report by OTRC, “Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ – the newest “Twilight” movie which sees main characters Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, and the vampire Edward, portrayed by Robert Pattinson, marry and face the consequences of their union – has made more than $633 million worldwide since it was released on November 18.

Takei closes his clip with a final plea to Star Trek and Star Wars fans, saying: “Let’s us all just live and let live – long and prosperously. And, may the force be with you always!’

Do you follow George Takei on Twitter? Facebook? You should. The Star Trek legend has a unique view on the flaws of pop culture and his latest knee slapper comes at the expense of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

George Takei relayed this photo on Facebook with the message “Now this I would Watch.”

Get it? Get it?! Kim Kardashian’s last name sounds the serpentine species from “Star Trek” the Cardassians.

Of course, Takei isn’t the first to make the Kardashian / Cardassian joke. In fact, the picture above wasn’t even created by the “Star Trek” legend. He just shared a fan pic with the world.

But that doesn’t mean that George Takei doesn’t have a few zingers up his sleeve. After Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries split, Takei wrote on Twitter:

“Kim Kardashian files for divorce after 72 days. Another example of how same-sex marriage is destroying the sanctity of the very institution.”

And although the Kardashian’s are a favorite subject for Takei, George comments on everything from gay issues to the occupy protests to presidential candidates. In regard to the Herman Cain sexual assault scandal, Takei wrote:

“Cain doesn’t recall suits by two women over harassment, says third claim is “baseless.” As to the fourth, fifth and sixth: “No comment.”

George Takei Makes Kardashian / Cardassian Joke on Facebook is a post from: The Inquisitr

Takei, whose recent response to Tracy Morgan’s anti-gay comments created a buzz, is set to appear in the 2012 musical “Allegiance” along with Tony Award winner Lea Salonga.

In the meantime, the 74 year old actor- well known for his parodies- has released some humorous audition videos for two other musicals- as a part of his “The Road to Broadway” web series.

In the hilarious videos, Takei explains why he would be a perfect fit to star in the Broadway musicals Sister Act and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

“Spider-Man, Spider-Man. George Takei should be Spider-Man,” sings George to the tune of the famous comic book’s cartoon series, adding: “Not only do I have great vocals – I’ve got great insurance.”

In addition to his Broadway work, Takei also recently took on a role as an economic professor in the forthcoming Tom Hanks film, Larry Crowne- scheduled to hit theaters on July 1st.

Okay, so it’s not a contest, but Star Trek‘s openly gay George Takei would totally take first place if reassuring struggling gay teens was a winnable thing.

Also, he single-handedly put the sting back in the word “douchebag.”

Star Trek captain and star of Boston Legal William Shatner has given another one of his legendary rambling interviews, although in this case, what he has to say has bite.

Shatner was asked specifically about not being invited to the all male wedding of Star Trek co-star George Takei, despite most of the still living members of Star Trek being invited (including a number of members taking prominent positions).

Shatner says in the interview of Takei that: “The poor man – there’s such a sickness there. It’s so patently obvious there’s a psychosis there,” and then goes on to talk about Takei “hiding his homosexuality” and “talk about festering, not living the truth of your life.” Shatner describes Takei’s homosexuality as a “terrible terrible secret.”
