The late technology magnate (read: god) Steve Jobs apparently had himself an FBI file, thrown together back in 1991 when he was being considered by Bush the elder for appointment to public office. Thanks to the Freedom of Information Act, the file has been released to the Wall Street Journal, and if you want it, the 191-page document can be found here. Otherwise, stay tuned for some highlights:

- Jobs’ known use of drugs during his formative years comes up a lot in the file, but those interviewed vouched for Stevie, unanimously agreeing that those days were well behind him.

- Jobs has always been known as an uncompromising businessman, even a tad direct and a little “mean”. One man interviewed, who called himself a former “good friend” of Jobs, said that Steve-O is “basically … honest and trustworthy,” but that “his moral character is suspect.” Jobs, the man continued, “alienated a large number of people at Apple, as a result of his ambition.” Another source who apparently didn’t understand that the interview was about Steve Jobs wished to avoid talking about him entirely, due to “questions concerning his ethics and morality.”

- An attached memo summarizes the background investigation, saying: “Several individuals questioned Mr. Jobs’ honesty stating that Mr. Jobs will twist the truth and distort reality in order to achieve his goals.”

- In a bit of a low blow, some interviewees said that Jobs hadn’t been the best dad to his born-out-of-wedlock daughter or her mother, until recently.

- One crowning piece of information, an interviewee described Jobs as “a deceptive individual who who is not completely forthright and honest.” Others said Jobs “has integrity as long as he gets his way.”

- It’s not all bad though! Two interviewees called Jobs “hardworking and driven,” and another complimented his studies in eastern religion, saying that they improved his life.

I think it’s pretty much assumed that if you’re going to make it to the top, you’ve got to step on some folks along the way. But what do you think of Steve Jobs’ FBI profile? Easy to believe or hard to swallow?

Back in the 1960′s anyone who wore a flower in their hair or wore bluejeans with patches on them was looked upon as a dangerous radical by the FBI and could end up with having a surveillance file about them somewhere deep within the FBI vaults.

Times haven’t changed all that much it would seem if this flyer from the FBI is any indication. The flyer which is being distributed to coffee shops and internet cafes advising them to be on the look out for “suspicious” people.

So how do you tell if you might be dealing with a “suspicious” person? Well if they are overly concerned about privacy, have an interest in technology and, gawd forbid, prefer to pay in cash.

Still not sure? Well here’s a few more ways you might be able to tell:

• Evidence of a residential based internet provider (signs on to Comcast, AOL, etc.)
• Use of anonymizers, portals, or other means to shield IP address
• Communicating through a PC game
• Obtain maps or diagrams of transportation
• Download or transfer files with “how-to” content such as information about electronics

Well that should cover 99% of the people who might be at the coffee shop or internet cafe so the flyer tries to mitigate the overall tone of madness and stupidity with this little disclaimer in the fine print at the bottom of the flyer.

East Haven, Connecticut police chief Leonard Gallo has resigned from his post after four officers were indicted as part of an FBI case involving racial-profiling.

Gallow is an unnamed co-conspirator in the indictment and he was condemned last week by the governor’s criminal policy head for failing to follow the basic tenants of civil-rights guidelines when his officers targeted Latino residents.

According to the Governor’s officials:

“These are best practices nationally. What is very clear is that Chief Gallo did not follow these recommendations.”

Gallo was placed on administrative leave in 2010 by East Haven’s former mayor once news of the federal probe surfaced. 15 months later the East Haven police board filed 15 administrative charges against Gallo.

The city of East Haven has been in even more trouble lately, you might recall that their current mayor Joseph Maturo was sent more than 2,000 tacos after he made a joke about how he supports the Latino community by buying tacos. Maturo it turns out is a good friend of Gallo’s and reinstated him last year.

Maturo is now being asked to step down from his position by the cities board.

In calling for Gallo’s firing the town’s police commission chairman said:

“It’s been a general breakdown in control in that department for quite a while.”

In the meantime 15,000 signatures have been collected to request that the city’s mayor be relieved of his duties.

In any case the city council needs to act quickly as New Haven, Connecticut is quickly turning into a hotbed of hate in the United States.

The Supreme Court has been going over a case as of late that involved the police and FBI who attached a GPS device to a drug suspect’s Jeep and without a search warrant. Today, judges ruled that it’s unconstitutional and that law enforcement, as with any situation involving private property, must receive a search warrant prior.

Being that a vehicle is private property, the fourth amendment in the Constitution specifically protects against government searches of private property. It’s quite interesting to note that this was even allowed in the first place, though it seems law enforcement has been getting away with the practice for all this time.

Of course, 99.99% of the population isn’t that much of an interest to track you and your vehicle’s every move, unless you have a crazy significant other that’s in law enforcement.

Via Los Angeles Times:

“We hold that the government’s installation of a GPS device on a target’s vehicle, and its use of that device to monitor the vehicle’s movements, constitutes a ‘search,’” Scalia said. “The government physically occupied private property for the purpose of obtaining information,” he said.”

All of the judges agreed on the decision. The new ruling covers any tracking device whether it is actually attached to the vehicle or not.

“Meanwhile, Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. said he would go further and rule that the “long-term monitoring” of the vehicle with a tracking device violated the 4th Amendment regardless of whether the device was attached to a car. He took the view that the government violated a motorist’s right to privacy by tracking his movements for weeks on end.”

FBI officials on Sunday were forced to detain a man who claimed to be an active member of the U.S. military after explosives wrapped in military-grade wrapping were discovered as he passed through a security checkpoint at Midland International Airport in Texas.

The event occurred at 9am and was discovered as security checkpoint officials noticed a strange item during the x-ray process.

FBI officials are not revealing where the man was being held, what is known is that the man and his family were visiting relatives in Texas and were on their way home to North Carolina when the TSA discovered the explosive materials.

Officials were forced to close the security checkpoint for one hour while they investigated the material and then removed it.

At this time it’s still not clear exactly what type of explosives were discovered and local police have declined to discuss whether the man is actually a member of active military.

According to American Airlines the man and his family were scheduled to depart out of Dallas-Fort Worth on American Eagle flight 3283 at 9:45 a.m.

Perhaps this soldier didn’t read the report about his fellow serviceman having their guns confiscated even though they didn’t have any bullets to fire. I have a feeling carrying military grade explosives onto a plan brings more worry for concern then a bunch of empty guns.

Fort Wayne, Indiana- More disturbing details have emerged about the disappearance and death of Aliahna Lemmon.

9-year-old Aliahna went missing Friday from her Indiana home, and authorities suspected babysitter Michael Plumadore was involved with the girl’s disappearance. Police cited “inconsistencies” in Plumadore’s account of the evening, and soon located the young girl’s body in a location they’ve not disclosed to the public.

However, the account that has emerged of the circumstances surrounding the girl’s death is very upsetting. It has been revealed in an affadavit that Plumadore confessed to bludgeoning little Aliahna with a brick before dismembering and concealing her remains:

According to the affidavit, Plumadore told police that after beating Aliahna to death on the front steps of the home in the early morning hours, he stuffed her body into trash bags and hid her in the freezer at the home in a rundown trailer park in Fort Wayne. He said he later chopped up her body with a hacksaw and stuffed her remains into freezer bags…

According to the affidavit, Plumadore admitted to keeping the child’s hands, head and feet at the trailer where the crime occurred, and “discarding” the rest of her body at a local business. After his confession, police searched the residence and located the body parts, corroborating Plumadore’s macabre admission.

Local sheriff Ken Fries did not disclose a reason behind the killing, but said that Plumadore’s account seemed faulty to investigators from the outset:

“Things that were said in 29 years of doing this that just didn’t make sense… We needed to get him to talk.”

Plumadore is being held without bond for the murder of Aliahna Lemmon.

Indiana Babysitter Beat Girl to Death With Brick, Dismembered Body With Hacksaw is a post from: The Inquisitr

The body of missing 9-year-old Indiana girl Aliahna Lemmon has been found after a frantic search by local and county officials and the FBI. The body of the little girl was found after County police and FBI agents interviewed 39-year old Mike Plumadore.

According to officials the family friend who was watching Aliahna and her two sisters have been officially charged with murder.

Plumadore initially said the girl vanished after she was placed in bed for the night, the trailer park where she was sleeping is a known haven for sex offenders which helped aid Plumadore in his original statements. Police soon realized however that the man had criminal records of his own in Florida and North Carolina for trespassing and assault.

The search was aided by more than 100 volunteers and the little girls body was found in northeast Indiana’s Allen County, the same location where his families mobile home park is located. At this time authorities are not stating exactly where the body was found.

The day before her bodies discover a Facebook support group named “Find Aliahna Marie Maroney Lemmon Missing from Fort Wayne, Indiana” posted a group message that read:

“Merry Christmas Aliahna where ever you are! We won’t give up on you!” and “No kid should be missing Christmas!”

FBI Agents have joined the search forAliahna Lemmon, a 9-year-old girl who went missing on Christmas Eve.

Lemmon was last seen on Friday night at the trailer park in Indiana where she lived. According to ABC, the trailer park where Lemmon lives is a “haven for sex offenders.”

FBI agents started searching the area on Monday morning. According to the Houston Chronicle, the FBI searched the mobile home park and a nearby storage facility for Lemmon as a hundred people gathered across the street for a candlelit vigil.

David Story, Aliahna’s step-grandfather, said:

“Children don’t just walk away during Christmastime.”

More than 100 local emergency workers went on an extensive search for Aliahna on Saturday in Fort Wayne. According to ABC, the search effort has been scaled back by local officials but the addition of FBI agents provides some hope in the case of Aliahna Lemmon.

According to ABC, the trailer park where Lemmon lives is home to 15 registered sex offenders.

Elizabeth Watkins, a mother who lives in the trailer park, said:

“It’s scary. I don’t know how a parent could leave their child alone.

To make things even scarier for Lemmon’s family, the little girl has hearing and vision problems. Lemmon’s mother, Tarah Souders, said that the girl also suffers from ADD, emotional problems, and has a history of sleepwalking.

Mike Plumadore, a neighbor, was taking care of Aliahna and her two sisters because Souders was sick. Plumadore said that when he woke up in the morning Aliahan was gone. Her sisters, both six, said that she left with her mother but when Pludamore and Souders talked later that night, they realized that Aliahna was gone.

Plumadore is not considered a suspect at this point.

The FBI training ground in Quantico, Virginia are home to more than 1 million marksman bullets every single month, yet that hasn’t stopped local Deer from roaming the area freely with very little hesitation.

The AP reports that the grounds are actually home to various animals including groundhogs, free-roaming black bears, turkeys and foxes, all who share the 547-acre space with academy recruits and FBI agents in the midst of training.

According to one special agent the deers will sometimes come with 15 feet of targets:

“They’re pretty immune to the sound, they’re just so docile around here. They don’t know what a gun is.”

In fact the deer feel so safe on FBI grounds that new recruits are taught how to avoid them on driving courses. In some cases recruits say the local deer population will actually star at them as they undergo various physical training exercises.

The chief physical trainer tells the Associate Press of their observant friends:

“They just stand there and watch as if they’re evaluating them, just like the instructors are.”

Unfortunately for deers who pass over onto the neighboring Marine Corps based they aren’t so lucky, limited hunting is allowed by soldiers.

I want to meet the first brave deer who managed to walk within 15 minutes of the firing range, they were either one very smart or very stupid wild animal.

FBI agents on Friday arrested seven people who they suspect took part in an Amish haircutting attack ring. According to reports the group worked for breakaway Amish sect leader Sam Mullet.

Among those arrested were Sam Mullet, four of his family members and two other followers. All seven people arrested in the FBI raid were found hold up in a compound in Bergholz.

Because cutting their beards and hair is considered a major offense in the Amish community the attacks are being investigated as hate crimes. The bible instructs men and women to let their hair grow, something that is taken very seriously by Amish leaders and their followers.

If convicted of a hate crime each person involved could face up to 10 years in prison.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette it’s believed that the hair-cutting attacks were in response to Mullet’s excommunication from the community by Amish leaders who viewed the sexual conduct at his church as a threat to their way of life.

According to Sam Mullet he “didn’t order anything like” the hair-cutting, however he also says “I didn’t tell them not to.”

Louis Freeh, the former director of the FBI has been tapped to lead an investigation into child sex-abuse allegations at Penn State. According to reports Freeh will examine records dating back to 1975.

Freeh will oversee the universities board of trustees’ internal investigation into abuses at the hands of former men’s football coach Jerry Sandusky. Following revelations that Sandusky’s abuse of little boys had been covered up the universities board fired president Graham Spanier and football coach of nearly five decades Joe Paterno.

As part of his investigation Freeh has hired a team of former FBI agents, federal prosecutors and other experts to help determine the extent of the abuse and preceding cover up by Penn State officials..

According to Freeh:

“We will immediately report any evidence of criminality to law enforcement authorities.”

Freeh’s investigation comes after faculty members on Friday called for an independent investigation after learning that two university trustees were initially going to conduct the internal investigation.

Trustee Kenneth Frazier (CEO of pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co.) said of Freeh’s investigation:

“No one is above scrutiny,” and “He has complete rein to follow any lead, to look into every corner of the university to get to the bottom of what happened and then to make recommendations that will help ensure that it never happens again.”

While Jerry Sandusky has only been accused of molesting boys into the mid-1990′s the investigation going back to 1975 will be sure to open up any other issues that may have occurred with Sandusky’s involvement with youth charity The Second Mile. Sandusky left Penn State in 1999 however his charity has continued to work closely with the university and young boys since that time.

Concerns over security at the 2012 London Olympics has led U.S. Authorities to assign 500 FBI officials and 500 other security guards to protect American athletes as they compete on the world stage. The hired hands will also protect U.S. Diplomats who attend the event.

When first announcing security support for the event Olympic Committee members called for 10,000 security personnel, many from the countries military however they now believe that a safe environment will require upwards of 21,000 guards for the Olympics 32 competition sites throughout the country.

In the meantime British officials have grown tired of growing concerns voiced by US officials over the event. When speaking about the US security “footprint” during the games one British official said of the US:

“We are not equal partners in this.” and ”They are being very demanding.”

Another official added the Guardian:

“The Americans are risk-averse, with a capital ‘A’ and underlined. They want to see everything.”

However it’s not only the Americans that have become irritated by the entire security issue, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) has agreed to offer 3,000 soldiers and 2,000 reserve soldiers however they are working with a very tight budget with one member recently asking:

“What have they been doing for the last five years?” and “There is less than a year to go and they’ve only just realised they need twice the number of security guards they first thought. Where is the money to pay for this coming from? It is an extra burden on the defence budget that we could well do without.”

Given terrorist activity and other security issues in recent memory it seems silly that this issue is just now being further pushed.

Fans of the horror core group Insane Clown Posse don’t just sit around listening to crappy music together they also engage in gang activities according to a recent report filed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The FBI called the Juggalos (the name for ICP fans) a “family gang” during their latest national gang threat assessment and listed them next to the likes of family gang’s located in Asia, Somali and Jamaica.

While the Juggalos have not always been the most organized group the FBI report says they have moved beyond smoking weed  and trying to figure out how magnets work (sorry if you don’t get the joke) to  ”engaging in more gang-like criminal activity, such as felony assaults, thefts, robberies, and drug sales. Social networking websites are a popular conveyance for Juggalo sub-culture to communicate and expand.”

The group is especially fond of Facebook and Twitter use which they use to spread their gang activities like wildfire, keeping law enforcement officials on their toes.

The FBI report also reveals that the Juggalos are beginning to spread their reach into New Mexico after having formerly branched out in Utah, Arizona, California and Pennsylvania.

It’s still unclear how the Juggalos will be targeted by FBI officials, perhaps government agents will just start showing up at concerts dressed as clowns, after all there’s nothing more scary than a gang who’s founding relics are a bunch of crappy rappers who wear clown makeup and get owned by Eminem whenever they try to call him out on records.

The FBI has released surveillance footage of Anna Chapman (above) and other Russian sleeper spies secretly exchanging information and money between themselves.

The footage comes from an FBI investigation that lasted close to a decade, and concluded with the biggest spy swap between the United States and Russia since the Cold War.

Anna Chapman’s involvement has turned her into an international celebrity (though Chapman herself still refuses to confirm or deny whether she was a spy), and she is now a television presenter and lingerie model back in Russia.

In the newly released footage, Chapman is filmed meeting a fellow Russian agent in a coffee shop (during this encounter, the FBI alleges she sent coded messages), and also visiting Macy’s in New York City in January 2010.

Other members of the spy ring were filmed burying money in a clump of weeds, handing off documents and cash while passing one another in subway tunnels (a technique known as a ‘brush pass’), or simply taking their kids for a walk.

The FBI believes the spy ring were ‘talent spotters’ – that is, they were under orders to identify high-level individuals who may be interested in sharing information on subjects such as defense and finance. Such targets may have included academics, entrepreneurs and government policymakers.

Reportedly, their mission was close to being a success. FBI assistant director for counterintelligence C. Frank Figliuzzi reveals that “they were getting very close to penetrating U.S. policymaking circles,” through a friend of an unnamed member of President Obama’s Cabinet.

On July 9th 2010, the U.S. swapped the ten deep cover agents arrested by federal agents for four Russians imprisoned for spying for the West. The swap took place at a Vienna airport.

When Bangladesh-born artist Hasan Elahi was stopped at an airport in 2002 and then put through several months of scary interrogations he decided that hiding anything from the government was pointless. Instead of hiding his information Elahi decided to bottleneck those agencies that interrogated him by posting an overwhelming amount of data about himself on his personal website.

On his site Elahi puts up pics of everywhere he eats, what his dinner fork looks like, what his food looks like and everything else he observes throughout the day.

Writing in the New York Times. Elahi says:

 “You want to watch me? Fine … But I can watch myself better than you can, and I can get a level of detail that you will never have.”

After launching his website Hasan began to track server logs and discovered that he was being watched by the Department of Homeland Security, the CIA, the National Reconnaissance Office, and the Executive Office of the President.

Just for a bit of fun Elahi has made it hard to decipher a timeline for his websites information, deliberately making his data hard to place into any type of useful order.

“By putting everything about me out there, I am simultaneously telling everything and nothing about my life,” he writes. “In an era in which everything is archived and tracked, the best way to maintain privacy may be to give it up.”

Artist Overwhelms Government Agencies With Personal Data After Being Targeted is a post from: The Inquisitr

Local officials in Philadelphia with assistance from the FBI are investigating the case of four mentally disabled people who were found locked up in a basement so their social security checks could be stolen.

A janitor says they were doing checks of the building where the crime occurred and found the people locked up, he quickly let them go and then called authorities to report the crime.

Among the victims were a 29-year-old female and three males (31, 31, and 35).

According to police the victims were locked up for approximately one week and they were suffering from bed sores and other “injuries that are very, very hard to describe.”

Speaking about the incident Lt. Ray Evers said the group had moved from Texas to Florida and then to Philadelphia on October 4.

Police say that the people responsible are likely two men (51 and 51) and a 50-year-old female. Names for those suspects have not been released at this time.

Evers says of the people responsible:

“They’ll be charged with pretty much everything we can find in the crimes code … from aggravated assault to kidnapping to false imprisonment,” and “You name it, we’re going to stick it on them.”

Because of the human trafficking allegation the FBI have stepped in to help the investigation.

FBI officials have arrested one suspect in the celebrity hacking ring which has placed naked pictures of actresses online for the world to see.

The arrest comes several weeks after the phone of Scarlett Johansson was hacked and naked photos of the A-List actress were published online.

The FBI Operation “Hackerazzi” has not named which celebrities had been hacked and a news conference is scheduled for sometime Wednesday afternoon where more information will be released.

FBI officials have been investigating a possible Hollywood hacking ring for more than a year however the issue heated up after the Johansson photos surfaced on the internet and hackers continued to mock their victims.

When FBI officers began their probe they were searching on behalf of actresses and other Hollywood figures who believed their information had been compromised.

While a single group has come forward to claim the hacking breaches officials warn that those claims have never been verified. What we do know is that reports have surfaced in which other unnamed celebrities have been victimized by the hackers even though their compromising photos have not yet been leaked to the press.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from LulzSec and other recent hacking scandals it’s that most hackers get caught, especially when they practically throw themselves into the public spotlight.

Detroit, Michigan, where murder is almost a daily occurrence or 1,111 violent crimes per 100,000 residents, is the most dangerous city in America, according to Forbes.

To compile the list of America’s Most Dangerous City, Forbes used the FBI’s uniform crime report for 2010 which tallies crime data for each of the country’s metropolitan areas.. The crime-fighting agency uses four categories of violent crimes, namely: murder and non-negligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery and aggravated assault.

Despite the impression that poor economic conditions can lead to more crimes, violent crimes for the past four years have actually dipped according to the FBI. For example, murder was down by 4%, rape by 5%, robbery by 10% and aggravated assault by 4%.

Vice President Joe Biden’s brother Francis Biden, 57, was hospitalized over the weekend after a package arrived at him home that was full of a white powder substance.

The package arrived at Francis’ Ocean Ridge, Florida home and poured out onto his skin as he opened the box. After the powder was released officials from the FBI sealed off the street and began evacuating neighbors for a period of 8 hours after Biden and his girlfriend were taken to the hospital for testing.

While his girlfriend was quickly released (she didn’t come in direct contact with the powder), Francis was held overnight, Biden confirmed the reasoning behind his late release noting:

“I was the only one who came in contact with the powder, so they kept me.”

After a 24 hour observation period Biden was released from the hospital with no ill effects.

According to FBI officials the package was sent from somewhere in India.

Francis Biden runs a non-profit organization that operates a tuition-free charter school in Florida for troubled students. When asked what else was contained in the package Biden told the Palm Beach Post that all questions about what else was found discovered should be directed to FBI officials who are currently investigating the incident.

An entire street isolated and evacuated, an ongoing investigation into the exact whereabouts of the powder, do you feel as if this type of attention would have been paid to the white powder had it been delivered to a “regular citizens” home instead of the brother of the Vice President of the United States.

68-year-old George Wright has been running from the FBI since 1970 when he escaped from prison by stealing the warden’s car and then went underground by joining the Black Liberation Army and now it looks like he might finally be getting what he deserves.

Jailed in 1962 for killing a decorated WWI vet who was working at a gas station Wright would later dress as a priest in 1972 and hijack a plane to Algiers but not before making FBI agents dress in bathing suits to deliver ransom money.

While the plane and money were eventually returned by Algeria thanks to the help of Black Panther activist Eldridge Cleaver it was at that time that Wright disappeared and remained on the run until 2011.

The convicts capture was likely due to a New Jersey corrections officer who received a lead that Wright was contacting family in the United States

The convict is fighting extradition which he will likely lose. It was because of George Wright’s 1972 hijacking that stricter airport security rules were enacted, making handbag and passenger screenings a mandatory part of flying for the first time.
