Desperate Housewives Renewed to 2013

Soap come drama come occasional bitch fest Desperate Housewives will be back next year, and every year until 2013, which a spy tells us is the year the guarantee on Eva Longoria’s plastic surgery runs out.

The show has rated well this year despite tired cast and poor story line, but perhaps overplayed escapism is hot this recession, how else could you explain another 5 years of overpaid acting.

Desperate Housewives first hit ABC in 2004 and stars Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Hodge, Eva Longoria Parker as Gabrielle Solis, Nicollette Sheridan as Edie Britt and, from season four onwards, Dana Delany as Katherine Mayfair. Brenda Strong narrates the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young.

Don’t worry, Russell Crowe what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Which is great news for Russell’s wife Danielle Spencer because Russell was felt up by Eva Longoria. But then it was noisy right?

I know if I was Russell Crowe’s wife, Danielle, left at home with two kids, I would be pissed. But that’s not all, clearly Rusty has some fabulous man scent on or something because he also saw some man-on-man action from Marc Anthony, J-Lo’s plus one. Now that is disturbing.

What has happened to Eva Longoria’s face? Pictures of the Desperate Housewives star attending the wedding of friend Roselyn Sanchez’s wedding in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Saturday show Longoria looking more than a little worse for wear.

Too much time in the sun perhaps, bad botox or bad aging? Either way, the makeup artists on the set of Desperate Housewives will have more work ahead of them next year.

Microsoft to highlight everyday Windows users in new campaign

Not long after news broke that Microsoft had dumped Jerry Seinfield from the current $300 million Windows campaign, the New York Times reported that the second stage of the campaign would highlight everyday Windows users, such as Eva Longoria, Deepak Chopra and Pharrell Williams, sharing with the world how they love and use Microsoft products.

The new phase of the campaign will include a head on challenge to Apple’s Mac vs PC campaign, complete with a John Hodgman clone (pic top left) saying that he’s a PC and a stereotype, before the everyday people share their stories. Other everyday people to feature in the campaign include scientists, fashion designers and shark hunters, the sort of people average folk can relate to.

As I’ve said previously, I’ll hold back on my judgment until I see the ad, and it can’t be any worse that the first phase. At least this time there’s a message…sort of Marketing 101 for first year marketing students who don’t take crack.

I was actually glad to see snaps of Eva Longoria looking like, I don’t know, everyone else. . . a little cellulite just makes her more relatable. Eva’s someone who comes off as staggeringly perfect despite the fact that she’s been known to complain about her weight, but voila! Now I like her so much more. Plus, when I think about her “working out” last year, the minor lumps and bumps make more sense. (Still, totally normal. Who doesn’t slack from time to time?)

Now we just need to rule out whether or not she’s pregnant. She does have a bit of a bump in Portofino. . .
