Elin Nordegren recently bulldozed her $12 million oceanfront mansion in order to build a new, nearly identical, $12 million oceanfront mansion. Nordegren recently submitted the plans for the new house and they look pretty similar to the old house.

Of course, the style of the house wasn’t the reason that Nordegren decided to level it. The Inquisitr reported yesterday that Nordegren’s $12 million mansion was more than 90-years-old, had termites, and no longer met code.

“We had an architect and a structural engineer out here and everyone agreed that it made more sense – structurally and economically – to tear it down and start over.”

TMZ reports that Nordegren submitted the plans to the Palm Beach County Department of Planning, Zoning & Building, and will soon start construction on her new house. The house will look very similar to the home she purchased last year, minus the termites and with a few modern updates.

TMZ reports that when Nordegren’s mansion is finished, it will have 9 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a large formal dining room, 2 kitchens, a large pool, a cabana, its own Grotto, a couple of jacuzzis, a wine cellar, and an enormous master wing. There will also be a separate guest house with three bedrooms and three guest bungalows.

Nordegren has been criticized for demolishing the $12 million mansion, but I don’t think she’s too worried about money. Nordegren received more than $110 million from her divorce from Tiger Wood’s, so she can knock down and rebuild this mansion a few more times before the money’s gone.

Before the home was completely destroyed however Nordegren gave Habitat for Humanity four weeks to go through the structure and remove everything they could. When all was said and done Habitat managed to salvage tens of thousands of dollars worth of cabinets, hardware and fixtures.

Once inside the home Habitat officials discovered carpenter ant and termite infestations.

The demolition of the home is meant to mark a new start for Elin who just turned 32 on New Year’s Day. While her new home is being build Nordegren is living with her two children in a nearby rental home.

Details about Elin Nordegren’s new home are still scarce but we’re pretty sure it will be up to current Florida wind code standards and will be constructed with termite and carpenter-ant protection in mind.

Elin Nordegren, ex-wife of famous golfer Tiger Woods, is a home-wrecker. Literally though, we’re not making any undue suggestions here. It’s the literal truth.

32-year-old Nordegren skated through a divorce settlement with 36-year-old Woods nabbing a cool $100 million for her troubles (read: adultery) in the summer of 2010.

In March, she decided to buy a house. Part of that whole starting over thing. It was a nice house. A 9,000 square-foot house in North Palm Beach, Florida. Oh, and did we mention it cost $12 million? There’s that. But then Nordegren decided that the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom house just wasn’t what she wanted, so she decided to bulldoze the whole thing, start over (again) and build her dream home on the same plot.

“But why not just buy the plot and build her dream home on that?”

I don’t know, guy. I just do news.

In case you’ve been in a coma, Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren divorced over several illicit affairs on the part of Woods came to light in 2010. They have two children together: 4-year-old daughter Sam, and 2-year-old son, Charlie.

Can you believe it’s been almost two years since the long and messy breakup of Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren?

The golf star and the Swedish model seemed to be the perfect celebrity couple- quiet and not very flashy, with two toddlers and an ideal life. But then, the Thanksgiving before last, a massive sex scandal involving Woods slowly broke after the golfer crashed his car near their Florida home. The pair struggled to keep it together, but Woods’ former bedmates emerged from the ether one by one, all claiming extensive and salacious romps with the athlete.

All in all, more than a dozen women came forward with tales of bedding Woods while he was involved with Nordegren, and eventually, their marriage dissolved. We did not hear much from the former Mrs. until earlier this summer, when it was revealed that she was dating financier Jamie Dingman- well, financier and, if OK is to be believed, large scale playboy.

According to the gossip mag, Nordegren could be in for heartbreak again- OK says the “tycoon” is “as much of a player as Tiger, if not more so,” and spoke with an unnamed source about Jamie’s alleged habits:

According to an insider, Jamie “grew up incredibly privileged” and “is a total playboy, exactly the type of guy a lot of people believe she should be staying away from.”

“I actually feel sorry for her,” another insider adds. “He has houses and girls all over the world.”

The “insiders” quoted for the piece say that Nordegren is interested in meeting a wealthy man- not for his money, but because she can rest assured whoever she settles down with won’t be interested in her investment portfolio more than her personality. Woods and Nordegren finalized their divorce last August, with a settlement believed to be worth about $100 million.

Tiger Woods’ ex- the one he was married to- may have moved on to greener pastures after the sex scandal and painful divorce that ensued.

Page Six described Nordegren’s suspected new flame- financier Jamie Dingman, son of billionaire Michael Dingman- as an “accomplished emerging-markets veteran” who “splits his time between China and the Bahamas.” The pair is said to have hit it off at the Red Cross Ball in January.

Previously, Dingman was linked to supermodel and Tom Brady baby mama Bridget Moynahan, and was said to have dated Princess Madeleine of Sweden- although sources say the princess and Dingman were just friends.

The same sources confirmed Nordegren’s link to Dingman:

“He’s never been so happy. He and Elin have strong feelings for each other,” a friend said. “He’s a classic all-American guy. He’s handsome, a total gentleman and low-key. He’s never been in the press. Elin’s a very lucky girl; he’s a great guy but very private.”

The phrasing seems to be a bit of a dig at Nordegren’s ex Tiger- who, as you might recall, dominated news for the whole start of last summer when a series of former mistresses came forward and blabbed.

Tiger Woods’ divorce is set to be finalized next week, and the bill won’t come in cheap: $750 million to be precise.

Outgoing wife Elin Nordegren will receive the $750 million on the condition that she doesn’t speak to the media, either now or at any time in the future. She also gets full custody of the pairs children, 3-year-old Sam and 1-year-old Charlie. Tiger will get to see the kids on occasion, but only on the condition that he doesn’t bring any hookers girlfriends with him.

According to reports, the settlement may be the biggest ever divorce settlement for a celebrity, and is certainly the biggest ever for a sports star.

The final divorce hearing is scheduled for next week.

A 911 call at 2:36 AM on Tuesday morning brought fire department medics to the Windermere, FL Mansion of Tiger Woods. The patient, a woman described as middle age has yet to be identified, however she was taken to the same hospital Tiger Woods was brought to after his SUV accident last week.

The Today Show said they believed the woman may have been the mother of Elin Nordegren who came to the home this week to comfort her daughter after news of 10 different affairs surfaced involving the worlds number one golfer.

RadarOnline is reporting that the beleaguered wife of Tiger Woods, Elin Nordegren, has moved out of the couple’s $2.6m Windemere home in Florida.

The report cites “sources close to Tiger” and says Nordegren is living at another house nearby following the claims of several women coming out of the woodwork to blab about affairs with the golf legend. Tiger has apologized for his “transgressions,” and today a porn star told press she “couldn’t deny” having had relations with Woods. (By most accounts, the “Tiger Woods mistress count” has reached nine.)

RadarOnline says Tiger’s flak is keeping Elin’s move on the downlow due to the massive hit Tiger’s image has taken since the incident on Thanksgiving that began the press frenzy around Woods’ alleged affairs.

Elin Woods and Tiger Woods’ New Baby

Tiger Woods’ new baby, Charlie Axel Woods, was born this past Sunday, February 8. Both he and Elin Woods are doing well, according to Woods’ official statement on his Web site.

Charlie Axel Woods is the couple’s second child. Their first, a girl named Sam Alexis Woods, was born in June of 2007 and is pictured to the right.

“Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family,” Woods says. “We look forward to introducing Charlie to you at the appropriate time.”

Tiger Woods’ last PGA Tour performance came with his U.S. Open win last summer. Woods has spent the months since then recovering from surgery on his left knee.
