The last thing Research in Motion needs at the moment is more bad press for their faltering Blackberry Smartphone line of devices but that’s exactly what the received this week when two executives from the company became so inebriated during a flight from Toronto to Beijing on Monday night that the aircraft had to be turned around.

According to Gawker the plane was just north of Alaska when the flight crew says George Campbell, 45, and Paul Alexander Wilson, 38 wouldn’t listen to orders issued by the crew.

One Air Canadian official told the Toronto Star:

“[both men] simply weren’t listening to any direction that the flight crew was giving them.”

After appearing in court the two men were granted suspended sentences and were placed one year’s probation. The men have also been ordered to pay Air Canada $35,878 each.

Adding insult to injury both men will have a hard time paying that fee as they have been suspended from their jobs and they can not fly during their one-year probationary period.

Also suffering because of their actions were passengers since the plane was originally a direct 13-hour flight, however after turning around a new flight crew was required for the flight under safety regulations which caused the plane to arrive at it’s final destination 18 hours late.

I guess the idea of seizing the portable gas generators as a way to force the Occupy Wall Street protesters to give up and go home didn’t work out the way the police planned so they have come up with an even better plan.

Send in the drunks and the homeless.

Yup, that is a pretty ingenious idea I’ve got to admit and it has already started to pay off dividends for the anti-movement police and government. The influx of homeless drug addicts and the smelly drunks has cause the Occupy Wall Street kitchen to scale back its operations, and there are reports today that Zuccotti Park, where the protestors have ‘holed’ up, has been split in two. On the west side of the part are the homeless bums who were guided to the park by the police and then on the east are the “true” protesters.

According to Harry Siegel from The Daily News the shift has been ‘encouraged’ by the NYPD:

The NYPD seems to have crossed a line in recent days, as the park has taken on a darker tone with unsteady and unstable types suddenly seeming to emerge from the woodwork. Two different drunks I spoke with last week told me they’d been encouraged to “take it to Zuccotti” by officers who’d found them drinking in other parks, and members of the community affairs working group related several similar stories they’d heard while talking with intoxicated or aggressive new arrivals.

Of course the police through their spokesman says that these accusations are false but you got to admit it’s a pretty clever idea.

In the clip, a 27-year-old unnamed woman is shown perilously weaving about on a Boston subway platform before falling onto the tracks. As she stumbles around on the track, hugging the rail and unable or unwilling to reach the horrified bystanders trying to frantically alert the conductor and reach out to assist her, the train rapidly approaches. Police say that the woman, who was treated for “scrapes,” had been drinking heavily for a long period of time.

Luckily for the woman, the conductor manages to grind the speeding train to a halt just short of where she stood on the track. The train operator, 27-year-old Charice Lewis, describes the experience:

“The people were waving, but they were waving too much, and they were really, really close to the yellow line, which you are not supposed to be. It was telling me, ‘Slow your train down. Slow your train down.

“As I was approaching, the lady pops her head up, and I was like, ‘Oh my God. Someone is in the pit.’ I threw it into emergency, exactly what I am supposed to do, and it stopped just in time not to hurt her.

“After the fact, she came up with a big smile on her face.”

Peru’s top court has ruled that being drunk at work isn’t grounds for dismissal.

The court ordered that Pablo Cayo be given his job back as a janitor for the municipality of Chorrillos, which fired him for being intoxicated at work. One Justice that that the firing was excessive because even though Cayo was drunk, he did not offend or hurt anybody.

According to Reuters, the Local Government isn’t happy: “We’ve fired four workers for showing up drunk, and two of them were drivers,” said a spokesman “How can we allow a drunk to work who might run somebody over?”

The court said it would not revise its decision.

Popping down the street to pick up some groceries may seem like a regular chore, but imagine finding a man trying to hump a Toyota SUV!

A drunk man was caught having sex with an SUV that was parked on a main road. The man, who has not been named, was seen with his pants down and getting it on with the front end of the Toyota 4X4. After a short time finding that the Toyota wasn’t responding to his advances, police arrived on the scene, and of course being the 21st century, the whole thing was caught on video and posted to the internet.
