Drake was spotted shooting scenes for the upcoming comedy Anchorman 2 in New York City over the weekend.

The Canadian rapper sported an afro and era-appropriate apparel for the scenes he shot on Saturday afternoon. You can find a handful of photos of Drake as his character in the sequel embedded below.

The rapper isn’t the only musician who is expected to make a cameo in the long-awaited follow-up to director Adam McKay’s Anchorman. Kanye West was spotted wielding a hockey stick during the sequence he filmed in Atlanta last week. According to MTV News, Tina Fey, Jim Carrey, and Kirsten Dunst were also in attendance.

The cameo list for the sequel is actually quite impressive. In addition to Drake, Celebuzz claims Anchorman 2 will also feature quick appearances from Amy Poehler, Sacha Baron, John C. Reilly, Nicole Kidman, James Marsden, Kristen Wiig, Harrison Ford, Will Smith, and Liam Neeson. That’s a considerable amount of talent for one movie.

Drake was joined in New York City over the weekend by a number of the sequel’s stars. The New York Daily News managed to get their hands on several set photos featuring returning players Will Ferrell and Christina Applegate. Co-star Paul Rudd shot a few scenes in the Big Apple as well.

Although behind-the-scenes photos and cameo lists are starting to emerge, very little is still known about the actual plot of Anchorman 2. Adam McKay seems interested in keeping that information under lock and key for at least a little while longer.

“I can’t give it away because it’s more secret than the next ‘Star Wars.’ All I can say is that there are no Wookies in it. But it’s top-secret. You can’t give away the Brick jokes,” producer Judd Apatow told MTV News during an interview last year.

Kat Dennings addressed rumors that she is currently romancing Drake during her appearance on Chelsea Lately.

The 2 Broke Girls star said she has received some fairly nasty tweets from fans of the musician once reports of their relationship started making the rounds online.

Although a lot of people are pretty upset about the rumored romance, Kat Dennings told Chelsea Handler that it’s essentially much ado about absolutely nothing.

“What happened was, and I’m glad we’re talking about this, Drake was super nice and said something on Twitter about me. I had met him when I was, like, 19 when I was doing an indie film in Toronto, and so he said something, and I didn’t realize that happened. So when I got home, I had, like, 50,000 new followers out of nowhere,” the actress explained.

Unfortunately for Kat Dennings, the people who decided to follow her on Twitter weren’t exactly supportive of the rumored relationship. Instead of well-wishes, she received a handful of angry tweets that told her to stay away from their make-believe boyfriend.

“Then I realized what had happened, and then we started talking and he’s super, super nice. He’s a lovely person. He’s a nice man,” Dennings explained to Chelsea Handler.

People started speculating about Drake and Kat Dennings after the pair enjoyed a nice sushi dinner together. While the actress insists that nothing romantic took place, Handler wasn’t buying the story. Apparently Twitter users didn’t believe her, either.

Drake has debuted a new track titled “Girls Love Beyonce.”

Joined by the Cocaine 80′s and Justin Timberlake’ s production team member (The Y’s) James Fauntleroy on the hook, the Toronto rapper uses the Destiny’s Child chorus “Say My Name” as the track’s centerpiece but instead sings “Day my name.”

In many ways, Drake’s new single echoes the feel of the Grammy award winning album Take Care. Previously, he said his next album would be a very different style to that 2011 effort, so it will be interesting to hear what comes next.

Produced by Drake’s longtime producer Noah ’0′ Shebib, “Girls Love Beyonce” finds the rapper in reflective mood. Covering three main themes — his struggle to find a girlfriend and musings on materialism and sexism —it’s rap to think to rather than move to.

At one point in the song Drake wonders if he’ll can find someone ”who will help me think of someone besides myself” and “someone I leave the front door with cause we don’t want to hide no more.”

With this new release, the rapper follows recent musical outings “Started From The Bottom” and “5AM In Toronto,” and his just debuted guest appearance on DJ Khaled’s “No New Friends” along with Rick Ross and Lil Wayne.

Even though the song isn’t an ode to Beyonce, who just opened her Mrs. Carter Show world tour last night in Serbia, it’s an interesting angle for a song. There is no word yet on how Jay-Z or Beyonce feel about Drake’s new shout-out. Will it be slightly awkward when Drake next meets the power couple?

Maybe not.

It seems Drake has been fond of “Say My Name” for a while. He even sang it at the OVO Festival in 2011. You can watch it below.

Drake has taken more swipes at Chris Brown, reminding his rival, “The woman [you] love fell into my lap.”

Drake and Brown, who previously brawled in a New York nightclub, have been keeping up a war of words for the past few months.

After Brown used Young Jeezy’s song “R.I.P” to urge Drake to “come out the closet,” Drake returned fire when he appeared on East Village Radio’s “Keep It Thoro” show. Speaking to host Elliot Wilson, Drake said:

“Don’t ask me s**t about that man when I come up there. Leave that man alone. Stop preying on his insecurities. His insecurities are the fact that I make better music than him. I’m more poppin’ than him.”

Rihanna, a common subject in Drake’s goading, came up again when the rapper said:

“At one point in life, the woman that he loves fell into my lap. I did what a real n***a would do and treated her with respect. She’s not up there talking down on me.”

Just to show he wasn’t obsessed or anything, the 26-year-old rapper then attacked Brown’s musical skills again:

“I don’t want to hear that man rap. Nobody wants to hear me rap against him. I really do this s**t. Let him put out that, whatever, ‘Project X’ or whatever he’s working on and I’m going to put out that real s**t for the people. Nothing good can come out of that situation.”

Drake then said he wasn’t dwelling on his tiff with Brown:

“I’m not thinking about that man at all, or that girl, straight up. My life has moved on.”

Chris Brown kept his response to Drake’s barbs brief, tweeting just three letters:

Last June, Brown and Drake (and their two entourages) brawled in New York’s SoHo club after Drake allegedly sent Brown a note that read, “I’m f**king the love of your life.” The not-so-subtle reference to Rihanna didn’t go down well with Brown, and the two were soon engaging in fisticuffs.

If you’ve always had sort of a crush on Ms. Bynes, I imagine a tweet like that makes you immediately and painfully aware of how old you are. Nothing throws cold water onto childhood/young adult nostalgia like that kind of tweet.

But Amanda Bynes is a 26-year-old single woman now. She’s allowed to have a celebrity crush, we’re just not sure it’s healthy for anyone to bottle it up for so long that it comes spilling out like that.

Needless to say, the tweet has shocked the Internet from Gawker to The Huffington Post.

But if you’ve been paying attention, this is probably the most normal and human (even funny) thing that Bynes has done in a long while.

Her increasingly strange and erratic behavior is being picked up all over despite her attempts to keep a lid on her new life. Her driving troubles and odd gym behavior are a thing of the past, but she has reportedly gone full-on Howard Hughes in other ways. The crazy is nowhere more apparent than on her own Twitter account, where all she talks about anymore is Drake, “twerking out,” and what she’s eating.

Lil Wayne has received a number of high-profile hospital visitors since experiencing a series of seizures last week.

Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Birdman all reportedly paid the rapper a visit in the hospital over the weekend. Lil Wayne has been receiving treatment at Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.

Rapper and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj stopped by to check on Lil Wayne over the weekend. TMZ posted exclusive video of the “Starships” performer arriving at the hospital. Minaj was signed to Young Money Entertainment back in 2007.

Cash Money CEO and mentor Birdman stopped by to check on Lil Wayne during his stay at Cedars-Sinai. NBA star Chris Paul and singer Drake also dropped in to see how the rapper was feeling.

Although reports surfaced on Friday that the singer was dangerously close to dying, a source revealed that these rumors are grossly exaggerated. The insider added that Lil Wayne’s hospital visit was due to a drink created with cough syrup, soda, and candy.

“He drank too much sizzurp to get a better high. He needs rehab but he’s not close to death or anything. He’s fine and just coming down off the high,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly.

Lil Wayne also informed his followers on Twitter that the situation wasn’t nearly as dire as reports indicated.

“I’m good everybody,” he tweeted.

The rapper was reportedly treated for seizures he experienced during a music video shoot early last week. His representative soon issued a statement which said Lil Wayne had been discharged from the hospital.

“Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration. He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans for their support and love,” the rep explained.

The rapper was reportedly still receiving treatment over the weekend. However, everyone around him seems to think he’ll be okay. Birdman, who refers to Lil Wayne as his son, also took to Twitter to address the situation.

Drake played “rainmaker” at a strip club recently, hauling in $50,000 and showering the place with $1 bills.

Talk about making a statement.

TMZ has pics of rapper Drake showering a Charlotte strip club with $50,000 in cash in what proved to be a pretty “insane” scene. Word is, Drake hauled in a cardboard box filled with stacks of $1 bills and then released the Kraken on the dancers inside the Cameo Nightclub.

By the time Drake was done, the floor of the strip club was literally carpeted with $1 bills.

Another rapper named Bleu Davinci apparently dropped an additional $25,000. All in all, a good night to be a stripper working the pole at the Cameo.

So what’s with the statement, Drake? Well, there’s been a lot of talk flying around about whether Drake has any real “street cred” or if he’s just a poser from privilege.

Remember, Drake (or Aubrey Drake Graham) started his career in entertainment as an actor on Degrassi: The Next Generation, later rising to prominence as a recording artist. He spent most of his childhood living in middle-to-upper class neighborhoods and went to pretty wealthy schools.

But Drake makes no secret of his past and doesn’t really market himself as a “gangsta rapper” so much as an entertainer. In an interview with Complex, Drake said of his upbringing:

“My life is mine to remember. Right now, I feel like I’m telling you this to prove something to you, and that bothers the f*** out of me. Why does it matter? Do I make music you enjoy? Fine. What does it matter where I came from?

“Is it going to make you feel better to know that, ‘Oh man, I used to hang out with Yo Gotti and his manager in Memphis, before his manager got locked up, and I almost got shot in Memphis on New Years Eve, because we used to play around with guns and sh**.’ Does that make you feel better? Does that make me more official all of a sudden?”

Still, making it rain $50,000 in a strip club does seem a bit ostentatious. But we’ll let you decide, as always. Is Drake a poser?

Chris Brown and Drake are suing each other after they brawled in a nightclub.

The two rappers and their entourages ended up scrapping in New York’s W.i.P club in June, a fight that was said to be over Rihanna. During the brawl, which involved thrown bottles and Drake landing a punch on his rival. A number of innocent bystanders were hurt.

One of those bystanders was Romain Julien, a French model who has now filed lawsuits against both Brown and Drake for his injuries. With both performers facing lawsuits, the pair are now attempting to sue each other.

It’s likely any damages won by Julien will have to be paid by the man the court deems responsible for the fight. According to TMZ, Brown and Drake both deny responsibility.

At the time, it was reported the fisticuffs began when Brown, who remains on probation for beating up Rihanna in 2009, sent a bottle of champagne to Drake’s table. However, the drink was returned by Drake along with a note that read:

“I’m f***ing the love of your life, deal with it.”

That led to Brown squaring up to Drake, and it wasn’t long before several members of each rapper’s entourage became involved.

Since the nightclub fight, there hasn’t been much in the way of a truce. Brown has released a freestyle diss of Drake, who has been busy fighting a lawsuit brought against him by a nightclub in the same building as W.i.P. Meanwhile, one Las Vegas promoter has even made the men a big-money offer to settle matters in the ring.

The Kobe Bryant divorce never came, but the NBA star’s marriage to Vanessa still has some drama thanks to rapper Drake.

A song by Drake name-dropped Kobe and his wife, seemingly slamming Mrs. Kobe Bryant for being a golddigger. The line hasn’t sat well with Kobe or his wife, Enstarz noted, especially as fans have picked up on it.

The song, “Stay Schemin,” said that if Kobe Bryant went through with his divorce, Vanessa shouldn’t have been entitled to his fortune.

“Kobe about to lose on hundred and fifty M’s, Kobe my n—er hate it to have to be him, b–ch you wans’t with me shootin’ in the gym.”

The rap line came up on Monday when Kobe posted a message on Twitter about drinking coffee and tea with his wife. Someone responded by posting the lyric “she wasn’t with you shooting in the gym,” and Kobe shot back, “no, she wasn’t. She was busy raising our kids #nonanny #respectmothers.”

Vanessa Bryant had taken a similar approach earlier this month to the Drake slam, saying on Instagram that the Canadian rapper “has never been friends with Kobe and know nothing about our relationship.”

“I don’t need to be in the gym. I’m raising our daughters, signing checks and taking care of everything else that pertains to our home life,” she wrote. “I really wish people would stop THINK and then realize that they are being sucked into someone’s clear intention to monetize and gain attention off of our family’s heartache.”

I hold down our home life so my husband can focus on his career. It’s a partnership.”

Kobe Bryant called off his divorce in January, saying that he and Vanessa had gotten back together.

Thanks to Drake, the phrase YOLO has been overused to the point of being obnoxious on just about every platform imaginable, and so Walgreens and Macy’s decided to get in on the “fun” by introducing hats and t-shirts bearing the phrase.

As it turns out, Drake isn’t too happy about that.

On Christmas Eve, Drake uploaded two pictures to his Instagram account of YOLO hats and shirts from Walgreens and Macy’s, respectively. He wasn’t happy about either, saying that both companies “gotta either chill or cut the cheque.”

As Gawker points out, it’s unknown whether or not Drake actually has a trademark on the phrase YOLO–but a lot of people are certainly trying to get it.

In case you’ve somehow managed to avoid hearing the phrase until now, YOLO stands for “You Only Live Once.” Canadian rapper Drake is credited for popularizing the phrase, but internet meme compendium Know Your Meme attributes the first usage to Adam Mesh from “The Average Joe.”

The site claims that the phrase was first used during the third season of the NBC reality show. Some time afterwards, Mesh launched an entire “You Only Live Once” clothing line.

In a tweet earlier on this month (via Huffington Post), Mesh said that the phrase was “meant as inspiration to live life to the fullest,” adding that he is “disappointed” in its current use.

Back in June, rapper Drake and R&B singer Chris Brown were involved in a fight at New York City’s W.i.P nightclub. Following that fight, a nightclub in the same building has filed a lawsuit against Drake.

The second club, a spot called Greenhouse, is claiming that the fight next door to its own entrance caused irreparable harm to its reputation, ultimately costing millions of dollars in lost business.

Greenhouse is run by Entertainment Enterprises, and that parent company has filed a $16 million lawsuit against Drake.

Now fighting back against those charges is Drake. He claims Greenhouses rep already includes a sordid past of fights, gang violence, and other public unfriendly acts. Drake notes that the club was nearly shut down by the New York Police Department (NYPD) in 2011 following a “string of violent incidents.” Drake also notes that the club has a history of “violence and other problems” that have already tarnished its reputation.

The rapper also notes that bad press created by his fight with Chris Brown was manufactured by the media industry and not by his posse.

Greenhouse may be in the same building, but a quick search finds very little attachment to that club and the Drake fight.

The rapper’s lawyers have asked that the case be dropped because it holds no merit based on Greenhouses own problems with its reputation and the law.

Drake and Justin Bieber gave screaming fangirls a reason to lose their voices Saturday night at a surprise collaboration in the Hat, with the pair appearing on stage together in Toronto to the delight of unsuspecting concert attendees.

The Drake and Bieber surprise happened on December 1 at a Bieber show at the Rogers Center in Ontario’s capital.

Those who caught the Drake and Bieber gig were attending one of the stops Justin’s “Believe” tour. The Biebs had just delighted fans with a performance of his song ”Die in Your Arms,” and the sold-out crowd (with more than 60,000 Beliebers) was hyped — but they had no idea another teen idol was about to take the stage.

The Drake and Bieber gig kicked off ahead of the pair’s duet “Right Here,” and Justin brought out his fellow Canuck saying:

“We’re pretty close to home; I want to do a special song I haven’t done on tour yet. Give it up from your hometown, Drizzy Drake.”

While Drake and Bieber are famous in their own rights, the rapper admitted that the appearance also was the manifestation of a childhood dream of stardom. According to the former Degrassi cast member, he had wanted to perform at the former Skydome (now called Rogers Center) since he was a kid.

Drake said of the Bieber show:

“I wanna thank you for giving me a childhood dream, which is my first opportunity to perform at the Skydome.”

Drake and Bieber didn’t just give fans the duet; the two also did a version of Drizzy’s “The Motto,” and you can see some of their set in the clip below.

Boy, Drake’s mom must be proud! Former Degrassi star turned R&B auto-tune singer has revealed that he’s finally graduated high school at the tender age of, wait for it, 25. Where else did he reveal his accomplishment than on Twitter to his thousands of followers. On his Twitter, he wrote:

“97% on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school! Thank you to my teacher Kim Janzen for spending the last 5 months working tirelessly with me!! OVO SOUND.”

Drake, who used his real name Aubrey Graham when he burst onto the scene as an actor, dropped out of high school. Around this time, the Canadian-born entertainer was cast in the high school series Degrassi: The Next Generation as wheelchair bound Jimmy Brooks. Drake had an eight year run with the show, appearing in 138 episodes before Jimmy graduated in 2009. Graham then took the moniker Drake on and turned to his first passion, music.

In an interview with Complex magazine, Drake said he took on the Degrassi role to help his family out with their financial troubles, saying, “My mother was very sick. We were poor, like broke. The only money I had coming in was off of Canadian TV, which isn’t that much money when you break it down … A season of Canadian television is under a teacher’s salary, I’ll tell you that much.”

The now 25-year-old Drake has gone on to see major success in the music world as he’s currently signed with Young Money. However, something was missing for Drake and that was his education, in “Crew Love” he raps about not finishing high school, “I guess we’ll never know what Harvard gets us/But seeing my family have it all/Took the place of that desire for diplomas on the wall.”

Maybe Drake will submit his college applications in as well.

Music piracy cuts into the profits earned by labels and artists and in the case of several top musicians those profits are hurt more than their peers. A recent study that utilized the musicmetric Digital Music Index has found that 2012 has been especially bad for  Rihanna, Adele, Gotye and Drake in terms of illegal music downloads.

The study specifically examined BitTorrent file-sharing programs to determine the number of illegal downloads since the start of the year.

Researchers discovered that the United States is the central hub of piracy with downloads totaling 96,681,133. The United States more than doubled second-place piracy hub the United Kingdom which recorded 43,263,582 illegal downloads.

Rounding out the Top 5 pirating countries are Italy, Canada and Brazil.

The album with the most pirated material was Rihanna’s Talk That Talk with over one million (1,228,313) downloads.

Gotye’s Making Mirrors managed a fourth place finish with 903,603 global downloads while his “Somebody That I Used to Know” was the eight-most downloaded song with 683,123 illegal grabs.

Speaking to BBC News Geoff Taylor, chief executive of UK music industry organization the BPI noted:

“It shows that illegal downloading remains a significant problem … It is having a significant effect on investment in new music. That remains our serious concern.”

Pirated songs have become a major problem for the music industry however artists have reaped the benefits of increased ticket prices which have created millions of dollars in additional revenue.

Dr. Dre has topped Forbes‘ brand new list of highest-paid rappers despite not having released a new album in 12 years.

The rapper-producer earned the number one spot due to the success of his Beats by Dre headphones, which account for over half of the high-end headphone market. Beats by Dre made up $100 million of the Doctor’s pretax $110 million earnings.

Handset maker HTC paid $300 million for a 51 percent stake in Beats by Dre last year.

Rounding out the top five are Sean “Diddy” Combs, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne.

Similar to Dr. Dre, much of Diddy’s earnings had nothing to do with tour revenue or album sales. $45 million came from the sale of Ciroc vodka, which he became brand ambassador of in 2007. $38 million of Jay-Z’s earnings came from his stakes in the Brooklyn Nets, cosmetic company Carol’s Daughter, and other ventures. $35 million of Mr. West’s earnings are due to the Watch the Throne album and tour partnership with Jay-Z. Lil Wayne earned $27 million thanks to the success of Tha Carter IV, his Mountain Dew sponsorship, and his Trukfit clothing line.

Finishing out the top ten are Drake ($20.5 million), Cash Money co-founder Birdman ($20 million), Nicki Minaj ($15.5 million), Eminem ($15 million), and Ludacris ($12 million). Eminem sold more albums last decade than any other artist, earning most of his money due to an extensive back catalog and occasional tours. Ludacris’ earnings are largely due to his movie roles, Soul headphone line, and Conjure cognac investments. The Atlanta rapper said:

“We work so hard that we never get a real chance to stop and reflect on what we’ve done sometimes. So the FORBES list is a great representation of, ‘You know what, wow, we are out here working as hard as hell!’”

The Cash Kings 2012 list will appear in the September 24 issue of Forbes.

The Made in America Fest saw plenty of Jay-Z, with the rapper delivering a set that featured appearances from Kanye West, G.O.O.D. Music, and even an announcement from President Obama — but Jay-Z may have saved the best for last.

As the Made in America fest drew to a close, Jay-Z joined Pearl Jam on stage in the final performance of the weekend, playing a rock-heavy version of his song “99 Problems,” MTV News reported.

The Made In America fest also featured a performance from Drake, who played crowd favorite “Crew Love” and a few bars of “Underground Kings” before being joined on stage by 2 Chainz.

The entire festival had an eclectic lineup, with many genres of music represented. Some of the other performers included Odd Future, Skrillex, and Jay Electronica. Even Run-DMC reunited for a performance, Pitchfork noted.

A light rain the fell throughout the Made in America fest didn’t do too much to hurt attendance, though MTV News noted that many of the hip-hop fans filtered away after Drake’s performance finished, so they missed the show-stopping collaboration between Jay-Z and Pearl Jam.

Fans who want to see more of the Made in America fest could be in luck. Organizers have said there is a good chance of the festival returning next year, and fans can also look forward to a Made in America documentary directed by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer.

Manhattan, NY – Two famous singers, Chris Brown and Drake, are being sued by a Soho nightclub for the amount of $16 million.

According to Huffington Post, the two singers started a violent brawl in the Soho nightclub on July 14. The owner of said club claims that they ordered their security teams to throw ”highball glasses laden with alcohol” and shatter “the handles of bottles of spirits to use as makeshift knives.”

The bottle-hurling brawl ended up injuring nearly two dozen unexpeceted club-goers, several of which have already sued Greenhouse. One of the injured guests that has sued Greenhouse is NBA star Tony Parker, who is asking for $20 million dollars due to his eye being hit by a shard of glass.

The owner of Greenhouse is suing the two singers because the fight ruined their reputation and put an end to a $4 million deal to expand their brand across the country. Entertainment Enterpises, owner of the Greenhouse trademark, had reached an “agreement-in-principle” with another business to license the Greenhouse brand to nightclubs around the country. The other business pulled out of the agreement when they learned of the violent fight, explaining that “the Greenhouse marks were now associated with the kind of violent, life-threatening riot engaged in by [Brown and Drake], and that they were now worthless.”

According to DNAinfo.com, the scuffle was allegedly sparked due to the two singers’ romantic rivalry over pop star Rihanna. Drake and Brown “crossed paths in one of the nightclubs and began to fight violently with each  other” and ordered their boozed-up crews to join in, the lawsuit says.

A lawyer for Entertainment Enterprises has yet to respond for comment, and representatives for Chris Brown and Aubrey Drake Graham (Drake) have yet to respond to requests for comment as well.

Aaliyah may have passed before her time but thanks to a new Drake single released on Monday her memory lives on through posthumous song.

The Young Money rapper dropped “Enough Said” which features Aaliyah’s smooth R&B voice.

Drake had been preparing the track for quite some time now and told UK’s Tim Westwood in April:

“I have some great Aaliyah news coming soon.  Some special things. Great things man. Great things for music, period.”

Drake didn’t give any further information at that time which led to plenty of speculation.

The song features a smooth R&B groove with Drake providing his signature verse stylings over an Aaliyah backed chorus. With both singer and rapper carrying their own distinct styles its a song worth hearing. The song is mellow with Drake rapping for about a minute and a half while Aaliyah and a smooth beat dominate the rest of the track.

Released just 24 hours ago the song is already racking up hundreds of thousands of views on Youtube and through various music streaming services.

Aaliyah passed away in a plane crash 11 years ago this month and this song shows that her voice transcends more than a decade while still providing a landscape for rappers to lay down their verses while her smooth voice brings continuity to the song.

Rumors about a posthumous album from the late singer Aaliyah have been floating around for a while and now it looks like things are finally moving forward. Producer Noah “40″ Shebib released a new Aaliyah song last night, entitled “Enough Said,” featuring Drake.

Aaliyah fans are happy to hear the singer’s voice again but some wonder why Drake is the one leading the push behind the project. MTV reports that Drake didn’t know Aaliyah and several fans are upset that he’s reportedly executive producing her posthumous album.

Timbaland, a longtime collaborator of Aaliyah, said that he had mixed feelings about Drake producing the new album.

Timbaland said:

“I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if [Drake] do it, it should be with me and him, and Missy [Elliott]… I don’t know what’s going on. The proper way to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. For it to be on his record, that would not be right. The best decision, what the fans would want to see, is all three of us. It can’t be something to make money off of, ’cause I think it’s wrong to make money off the dead.”

Drake bounced back from his club brawl with Chris Brown pretty handily, and it looks like the rapper is enjoying himself at a NSFW pool party in a new music video for a collab track titled “Pop That” with fellow rappers Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and French Montana.

Rappers, pool party, a product placement. Seems like much ado about nothing in the hip hop world, and the video for the new single comes complete with, what else? Scantily clad babes. Each artist is of course pushing product, notes the Huffington Post – Rozay rides hard for Ciroc, Lil Wayne name-dropping his own clothing line, TRUKFIT, and someone is seen smoking hookah out of a bottle of Moet.

Drake is also changing things up with regard to style, sporting a pair of glasses worn in the video to “No Lie”, which might replace sweaters as the singer’s new “thing,” notes Kia Makarechi of HuffPo.

The song’s refrain is also recycled material. Luke (Live Crew’s Luther Campbell) used it in a song called “I Wanna Rock (Doo Doo Brown)” in 1991 in a much raunchier video. Lil Scrappy used it as well in a song called “Don’t Stop (Pop That P***y)” and French electro legend Busy P sampled Luke’s version in “Chop Suey.”

YouTube reactions have been varied, as one might come to expect from highly opinionated internet users. One comment summed up the negative reactions pretty handily, saying, “SMH, I hate my fcking Generation.”

The song “Pop That” is technically French Montana’s, a single from his upcoming album Excuse My French. You can watch the video below, but be warned. You might want to do a fox-hole peep outside your cubicle to make sure no tattle-tales or superiors are making the rounds with a cup of stale coffee in hand. The video doesn’t have any nudity, but it’s definitely NSFW.

Chris Brown and Drake just took another step toward the boxing ring. The two rappers were involved in a bar brawl earlier this month and it doesn’t look like the feud is stopping anytime soon. Brown released a new song today, “I Don’t Like,” where he freestyles about his beef with Drake.

Brown sings:

Brown was hit with a bottle during the brawl but it’s unclear who threw it. Drake was allegedly involved in the brawl but his rep stated that the rapper “did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night…. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman has offered Chris Brown and Drake $1 million a piece for them to settle their differences in a boxing ring with a pay-per-view target date of August 25th, reports CNN.

After an argument that left a New York night club torn to pieces, Chris Brown and Drake were alleged to have been fighting over pop-star Rihanna, who both men have dated in the past.

The W.i.P nightclub in Manhattan is facing a lawsuit as a result from the melee after NBA star Tony Parker was left with an eye injury that his lawyers say could have been prevented. The suit alleges that the nightclub was “negligent in permitting Drake’s entourage and Brown’s entourage to be in the club at the same time despite known tension between the two” claiming that the owners failed to provide “sufficient and efficient security.”

Promoter Damon Feldman has issued the challenge to the stars, hoping they accept the million dollars that will be provided by billionaire soda bottling heir Alki David. If the two men do choose to accept, an additional $1 million will be donated to a charity by the billionaire.

“Obviously they have a grudge. It’s just three 1-minute rounds. No one will get seriously hurt,” Feldman told NY Daily News.

Feldman also hopes to land Rihanna as the ring girl for the match between the two, but conceded that it is very unlikely.

“I would love to have Rihanna as the ring girl,” said Feldman, adding, ”I’m 99.9% sure she’ll say no. But I can guarantee you, if the fight happens, she will be watching,” he said.

Neither camp has accepted or declined the promoter’s offer, but that hasn’t stopped supporters from speculating what might happen should they choose to accept. Rapper 50 cent chose to weigh in on what he think’s the outcome might be in a recent interview with California radio station KMEL.

“I would take Chris,” he said last week.

“I guess it’s cause of all the physical things I see him doing with dancing and moving. He be slipping and moving. I don’t see Drake doing that. Chris be having his shirt off. He got one of them MMA fighter looks. Like he might have did karate when he was a kid. He’s kicking, doing splits and stuff. This could really get interesting.”

The likelihood of this boxing match happening remains to be seen, but it certainly would make for an interesting night.

Providing that Chris Brown and Drake do decide to duke it out in the ring, it seems that not only will a charity be greatly benefiting, but also that innocent bystanders won’t be the recipient of a glass bottle directly to the face.

Rapper Drake finally opened up about his bar brawl with Chris Brown, a violent fight that ended with various injuries, massive damage to property and an ongoing investigation.

Drake was performing at Jones Beach in Long Island, NY. when he stopped to talk about the brawl.

According to the New York Daily News, the rapper revealed on Saturday night:

“When I woke up this morning, I had to think about a lot of things. But the only thing I gave a f–k about was that I was in New York City tonight” he later quipped, ”It’s last call and you’re really too drunk to give a f–k.”

The discussion could have ended there but later in the show Drake added:

“A n—er in the corner is standing there looking at you funny. You bump elbows with him on the way to the bathroom, but really there’s only one n—er that you got to think about.”

The discussion was short but also poignant as it was the first time Drake has talked about the bar brawl. Last week Drake’s rep released the following statement:

“Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.”

The club in the meantime has been shutdown, according to police the location had a litany of violations which ultimately led to the brawl.

Drake and Chris Brown weren’t the only two celebrities involved in a bar brawl this week. San Antonio Spurs Guard Tony Parker was also at the New York City Nightclub and was injured in the fight.

Parker suffered a scratched retina on one of his eyes and will have to miss a week of training for the Summer Olympics.

Parker said:

“They started throwing bottles everywhere. I don’t know what happened. At first (my eye was) OK, but then it started getting worse and when the plane landed it was really hurting so I went straight to the ER.”

The Associated Press reports that Parker expects to be sidelines for about a week.

Parker added:

 ”I was with my friend Chris Brown and me and my friends took some punches, so I’ll be missing the start of the French team because I can’t do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops.”

TMZ reports that former Rihanna love-interest enraged Brown when he sent a note to his table which read, “I am f—ing the love of your life.” Before the note was delivered to Brown’s table by a waitress, he sent an expensive bottle of champagne MTV reports. Media representatives for the entertainers will be working overtime this weekend to sort out all of the finger pointing accusations between the pair of men who are apparently still both sweet on Rihanna. Drake’s representatives told the media that Brown was the instigator and a member of his “entourage” made “offensive” statements.

The New York Post also notes that comments may have included statements about rapper Meek Mill and that Brown’s “posse” includes Crips gang members. If Brown was hanging with street gang members it would be a violation of the probation terms levied after the 2009 attack on Rihanna. Drake’s attorneys are investigating the identities of the people sitting with Brown before the brawl occurred.

Brown’s attorney is also preparing to vigorously defend his client and alleged in the New York Post that “Drake and his thugs” are the subject of a police investigation and a case is building against the rapper. Brown’s attorney also told the media that local law enforcement officers have evidence that Drake threw “glassware” at his client. Witnesses to the Drake vs. Brown fight are still being interviewed, it is possible that shots were fired injuring five patrons.

Rihanna was not present during the brawl between the singer and rapper but was seen the next evening out on the town with her gal pals.

It turns out Chris Brown does not discriminate when deciding to punch women or men in the face. Three years after he attacked ex-girlfriend Rihanna the R&B singer managed to get in a fight with rapper Drake at a night club in New York City. Ironically fists were flying over the pop singer.

The fight ultimately led to both of the men’s entourages starting a brawl on the premise, later Chris Brown tweeted a photo (pictured above) of his chin which was apparently cut open after someone threw a bottle at him. With his photo Chris Brown wrote:

While Chris Brown eventually removed his tweets another gem of his intelligence included:

Chris Brown and Rihanna have made it a habit of showing up at the same New York City hotspots at the same time lately, this week at another New York City club Rihanna showed up with another guy but Chris Brown looked over at her on several occasions.

The New York Post has been claiming that Rihanna basically followed Brown around the city and adding to further speculation it is believed Rihanna and Chris Brown spent a good portion of the night text messaging each other.

In the meantime various reports are circulating in which claims are made that Rihanna is falling apart, including an incident in which mentor Jay-Z has reportedly tried to convince the number one hits singer that she needs to enter rehab to control her rampant partying lifestyle.

R&B star Rita Ora shot down rumors that have been circulating lately that she has been getting personal with Drake–according to her, the two are just “good friends.”

Ora, Jay Z’s protege, joined up with Drake to work on her debut single, R.I.P., which Drake wrote himself–but that’s not what got the rumors started. After recording her single, Ora reportedly supported Drake while he was in the U.K. for his paradise tour, sparking speculation that the two were getting close.

To fuel the fire even further, there were unverified reports circulating the internet in April that Ora and Drake were spotted kissing backstage at an event in the U.K. Ora insists that it’s all untrue, however.

“We’re really good friends actually,” Rita told the Associated Press. “He has my back so it’s really nice to know I have a guy that’s a good friend like that.”

On Tuesday, the 21-year-old singer threw a party in London to celebrate R.I.P. hitting the number one spot in the U.K. iTunes store. The AP went on to report that the paparazzi were hanging around outside of the party, and Ora seemed surprisingly thrilled about it.

Ora said, “I’m like, oh my God, they care!”

Meek Mill turned 25 this weekend and he’s ready to start the year off on the right foot. Mill dropped his highly anticipated Dream Chasers 2 Mixtape today and is now heading out on tour with Drake.

Drake told MTV:

“I want to go out on tour with the most exciting artists right now, and I want to make sure that I have songs with all of them… If we start getting into it and we start really vibing, maybe the last few nights, it’s a collaboration show; maybe we do all of our songs onstage together.”

Drake and Mills will probably perform “Amen” off the new mixtape a couple of times on tour but Mill said that he’ll also be performing songs from his upcoming album. Mill is set to release his debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, later this Summer.

Mills said:

“If you get my mixtape, make sure you learn all the words fast because I’m doing a lot of new music… I’m even doing something from the album on the tour as a part of my set. We finna turn it up, it’s called Club Paradise, we gonna have a party.”

The final leg of Drake’s tour will feature Meek Mill, as well J. Cole, 2 Chainz, Waka Flocka Flame and French Montana.

Oklahoma City, OK – The owner of the Dollhouse Lounge in Oklahoma City wants rapper Drake to pay for a marijuana incident that eventually led to the club managers arrest.

According to the owner Drake requested that the nightclub be opened on Thursday March 1st so he could host a private party. The club owner agreed to the request and Drake showed up at the spot with a large entourage of friends.

The owner says the party then went right off the rails and employees soon noticed a huge cloud of pot smoke in Drake’s VIP section which forced them to shut down the nightclub.

Because the party was in full swing employees were joined by Oklahoma City police who help them usher out partygoers however when a half smoked marijuana cigarette was discovered in Drake’s VIP section the clubs manager was arrested and booked for drug possession.

The Dollhouse Lounges owner is calling BS on the entire situation and asking that Drake and his crew pay for all his troubles since they had asked for the club to be opened for a private party.

Drake’s reps are not returning messages at this time and the full details surrounding the party have not been revealed.

While female rappers Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj are duking it out over old-school style dis tracks, New York rapper DMX has struck out at Drake and Rick Ross via an interview- and he took some shots at Jay-Z, too.

Disparity in backgrounds could be a reason (DMX grew up in the projects and was in and out of juvie as a kid, while Drake starred on Degrassi High), but DMX listed a bunch of reasons why he’s no big fan of Drake. He cited vocal style as well as basically “he’s ugly” when answering the question, saying:

“No… I don’t like anything about Drake. I don’t like his f*cking voice. I don’t like what he talks about. I don’t like his face. I don’t like the way he walks. Nothing.”

As for Rick Ross, DMX thinks the rapper is a boring fatass, commenting:

“I’m just not impressed. He’s aight, man. He talks about eating and girlfriends too much. How much can a nigga eat? How much weed can you smoke? Let’s talk about something else… I see a whole nother side of the coin, son.”

While the rapper- who has in the past feuded with Ja Rule- said J. Cole is “nice,” he had something to say about Jay-Z, too. DMX opines:

“I see what’s really good. You trying to eliminate the competition. At first you retire, then get me off the label and now you’re back rapping again. That was just some bullshit. You know what it is. That was getting rid of the competition.”

Drake’s new album “Take Care” may not officially hit stores until November 15th, but the highly anticipated album was leaked online this weekend. Drake doesn’t seem too disappointed about the unplanned early release, however, as the rapper told his fans to enjoy the free album.

Drake said that he was thankful that the album didn’t leak month’s prior to its release date. Drake said:

“I am not sure if the album leaked. But if it did thank god it doesn’t happen a month early anymore…”

Entertainment Weekly reports that Drake had already released a few tracks from his new album before the leak. Songs like “Free Spirit” and “Club Paradise,” were available on his website before thee new album leaked online.

Justin Bieber apparently wants to earn more street cred on his next album and to do so he is enlisting the help of superstar rappers Drake and Kanye West.

Bieber’s Christmas album Under the Mistletoe is less than a week away from release but he’s already talking about his album Believe telling  Capital FM:

“Very soon [it'll be released], after my Christmas album,” JB revealed. “It’s going to be coming out. It is called Believe. I’m working with a lot of cool people. I’m working with Kanye [West]. Drake is going to work on the album with me.”

Bieber says the new album will also be very Justin Timberlake influenced.

Bieber has already worked on tracks with both rappers, with Drake on Trust Issues and with Kanye who last year remixed Bieber’s track Runaway Love.

Speaking about Bieber Drake said:

“He’s like a talented kid … from Canada, so to hear him even remix that song is crazy,” he said. “That’s incredible.”

According to Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun most of the tracks were written by Bieber himself with Braun saying some of the Bieber penned songs sound like a Jodeci record.

Speaking with MTV earlier this year Bieber said he wanted to be the main producer for the Believe album:

“[I'm] writing about how I feel and producing. I’ve been producing on my laptop and on my computer,” he said. “I’ve been really into it and, hopefully, this next album will be huge.”

Rapper Drake celebrated turning 25-years-old this past weekend in Las Vegas. The Rapper showed up over the weekend and began partying before the clock struck 12 am on Monday.

According to onlookers Drake and his entourage took over TAO nightclub in Las Vegas on Saturday and Drake later tweeted:

“Momma I feel so alive…I made it to 25,” while adding, “Thank you all.”

Drake, in a good mood over his birthday treated the entire club to a free round of drinks and then announced:

“They asked me where I wanted to celebrate my birthday … I said I’ve got to go to the place I have the most fun in the world. I had to go to Vegas.”

He was a little more lewd with his next comments to partiers:

 “If you want to drink, if you want to dance, if you want to party—ladies, if you want to f*ck, I’m ’bout whatever.”

In celebration of his birthday AllThingsFresh teamed up with Good Wood NYC to put together an OVO kit for Drake, the kit included beaded bracelets, iPhones cases and drinking glasses.

Next up for Drake is the release of his highly anticipated album Take Care which drops on November 15.

In the meantime happy birthday to Drake, he’s come a long way since he dropped 2009′s So Far Gone mixtape.

Rapper Drake collapsed on stage while performing as part of the Young Money tour in Camden, New Jersey last night.

According to reports, Drake was performing a duet with Lil Wayne for single “Best I Ever Had” when the collapse occurred. During a spin move, his knee (which was already injured) was twisted causing him to collapse.

“He put his head down because he was in so much pain and then 4 guys ran out on the stage and had to carry him off” one witness reported.

Weezy then told the crowd, “Damn, I knew that niggers knee was bad, but I didn’t know it was that bad! I thought he was just in a wheelchair on T.V.”

Drake was tended to by paramedics back stage and his current status isn’t known.
