Trump has been in the news a lot this year, but most of it hasn’t had anything to do with his business. Trump spent most of 2011 toying with the idea of running for the presidency. His bid for the GOP nomination ended earlier this month when he officially endorsed Mitt Romney.

But just because Trump won’t be running for the presidency doesn’t mean he won’t find himself in office in 2012. There has been speculation that Romney will appoint Trump to a cabinet position. Trump said:

“I don’t know maybe a position where I negotiate against some of these countries. Because they are really taking our lunch.”

There really is no end to the wild claims made during this Republican primary battle.  This one is really rich.  Donald Trump called into Fox News today to take credit for Mitt Romney’s 30 point win in Nevada.

He told the newscasters,

“There was a lot riding on that particular race in Nevada and it was interesting, because the numbers were much, much greater than you thought. And a lot of people are giving me credit for that. And I will accept that credit. Always accept credit.”

It is a weird coincidence that poling taken in Nevada by the Romney Campaign and independent pollsters all had Romney winning Nevada by a landslide before Trump gave him his endorsement, but the polls showed that more than 40% of people interviewed said that Trump’s endorsement made them look at Romney more negatively.

Last week there was media confirmation that Trump planned to endorse Romney’s rival in the campaign Newt Gingrich.  Then out of nowhere he flipped and decided to endorse Romney.

Gingrich was asked to address the confusion in the endorsement fracas with Trump and he said bluntly,

“We all thought that was kind of weird. There are few people better at manipulating the press than Donald Trump and he proved it once again. You have to admire the sheer chutzpah.”

Trump was originally a candidate for the Republican nomination for President.  He suspended his campaign last May amidst minimal support.

Reports have been circulating all morning about Donald Trump’s endorsement. Early reports said that the Donald would be sitting in Newt Gingrich’s corner, while reports later in the day said that Trump would back Mitt Romney. Well, “The Apprentice” star has finally made his decision.

Donald Trump will be endorsing Mitt Romney.

In a short conference at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas, Donald said:

“Mitt is tough. He is smart… It is my honor, real honor, and privilege to endorse Mitt Romney. (Mitt will not) allow bad things to continue to happen to this country we all love.”

CBS reports that Trump’s endorsement comes just a few days before the caucus in Nevada. The endorsement also comes just 10-days before the start of the latest season of “The Apprentice.”

Romney added:

“It means a great deal to have the endorsement of Mr. Trump.”

Trump has been toying with the idea of running for president himself. Trump said that if the wrong GOP candidate was nominated to run against President Obama, he would enter as a third party candidate for the good of the country.

Trump said:

“If I don’t see a person that is going to win—that’s tantamount—I would certainly think about (running)…  If I didn’t have the show, I probably would have maybe just kept going because I was doing well, as you know. I was leading in the polls… I hope I don’t have to, but I may. Absolutely. The number one thing for me is this country. Our country’s in a lot of trouble. So I may. I hope I don’t have to.”

Donald Trump has done it again.  This morning the New York Times confirmed that Donald Trump would be endorsing Newt Gingrich for President.  Well they were acting on some bad information. The Real Estate Mogul and Apprentice star will be endorsing Mitt Romney in the Republican Primary.

It is said that Trump came to the decision after the thumping that Romney gave to Gingrich in the Florida primary.  Romney won that contest by more than double digits.

Pundits are not sure if the endorsement is going to help or hurt Romney.  27% of Republican primary voters said an endorsement by Trump is likely to sway their vote towards one of his opponents.  10% of Republican Primary voters said his endorsement would help.  The rest could care less.

Trump has been involved in politics for a while.  He even threw his own hat in the ring to try to gain the Republican nomination himself.  He suspended his campaign in May.  He has recently been floating the idea of rejoining the primary or running as a third party candidate.

Any scenario of Trump running is going to hurt Republicans in their quest to beat Obama in November.  Not only is Trump particularly wacky, but he is not so popular among Republican circles.

No one knows for sure how much Trump is worth but it is rumored to be more than $1 Billion dollars and may be closer to $7 billion dollars.

Trump is also well know to the “Birther” movement.  A group that claims President Obama is not eligible to be President because he was born in Kenya.  Even after President Obama released his birth certificate Trump said it was a fake.

It turns out that Donald Trump’s recent talk about a White House bid was more than just talk, in fact his top political adviser told ABC News on Monday, “I have spoken to many high-level political operatives, campaign managers, finance directors.”

Trumps adviser goes on to add:

“I am exploring on his behalf the possibilities of ensuring Mr. Trump appears on the ballot in all states, and to develop a team of professionals who could ensure a potential victory.”

In the meantime Donald Trump has said on several occasions that he plans to endorse a Republican candidate in the “not-too-distant” future and if his choice doesn’t come out the victor he’ll then enter as an independent nominee.

While Mr. Trump tells Fox News that he has been critical of Mitt Romney in the past he also praised the front-runners recent debate:

“I actually think it’s a great thing when you can show you’ve been successful, when you’ve made a lot of money and employed a lot of people,” he said. “I think Mitt Romney is starting to do that.”

In the meantime the search for political advisers continue, then again Donald Trump has always been about generating buzz for his own brand which just happens to be the Donald Trump name which in turn means his play at a political run could be nothing more than easy publicity.

The greatest will-he, won’t-he candidate this side of Chris Christie (Yes, I’m talking about Donald Trump) is making delicate hints toward yet another run for president. Trump might not be out of the race just yet, though according to him, it really depends on his show.

Still considering a run as an independent, Trump admits that the decision will be difficult because, well, he loves himself so much.

“I love my business. I love what I’m doing. I love this whole thing of what Donald Trump does,” the real estate mogul said on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday.

Trump admits that going head-to-head with President Obama for the top seat in the nation isn’t exactly something he wants to do, but he will boldly sacrifice his dreams and passions under the right conditions. He does view the upcoming election as anyone’s race, saying “the right independent could win,” adding his condition that, “if I don’t see a person that is going to win—that’s tantamount—I would certainly think about doing it.”

Referencing his earlier run, Trump said: “If I didn’t have the show, I probably would have maybe just kept going because I was doing well, as you know. I was leading in the polls.”

He continued with his reservations about a future run: “I mean, I built a great company, a great business,” he said. “I hope I don’t have to, but I may. Absolutely. The number one thing for me is this country. Our country’s in a lot of trouble. So I may. I hope I don’t have to.”

Now this might just be me, but I think every once in a while Trump looks at his well-coiffed dome in the mirror some mornings, whispers “President Trump…” and that’s what determines whether or not he’ll run that week.

Donald Trump gave up his chance to be president so that he could host another season of “Celebrity Apprentice.” And let’s be thankful that he did. The cast this year includes former late night host Arsenio Hall, angry comedian Adam Carolla, and Tia Carrere who played the smoking hot singer Casandra in “Wayne’s World.”

The 18-person cast includes American Idol singers, race car drivers, motorcycle builders, pop stars, and magicians.

Trump told the Hollywood Reporter:

“It’s hard to top the last few seasons but we think we’ve done it… I think we have a great, very diverse cast.”

Trump said that the 12th season of the “Celebrity Apprentice will follow the same formula as past seasons. The celebrity contestants will compete for $250,000 for the charity of their choice.

Trump added:

“We didn’t want to change much — we’re not looking to reinvent the show in its 12th season…”

Real Estate Mogul and Billionaire Donald J. Trump has confirmed that he has changed his official voter registration from Republican to Independent.  The move was prompted by Trump’s desire to run as an Independent candidate against President Obama in 2012.

An adviser to Trump, Michael Cohen said specifically that Trump wanted the ability to run as an Independent candidate because he is thoroughly unsatisfied with the Republican field of candidates.  While Trump has made his displeasure with Texas Congressman Ron Paul and Former Ambassador John Huntsman know, it is unclear how Trump feels about Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich.

Trump decided earlier this year to forgo running for President, citing his desire to stay in the private sector as the main reason why.  Trump has made it clear that when the latest season of the Apprentice ends filming in June he can still mount an effective campaign.  Cohen said that even at such a late date Trump has the ability to ensure his name will be on the ballot in all 50 States.

Trump’s independent candidacy is reminiscent of Ross Perot’s failed third party candidacies of the 90′s.  While Perot managed to make an impressive showing in both elections he ran in, in the 1992 election he pretty much ensured that George H.W. Bush lost to relatively unknown candidate Bill Clinton.  Perot drew voters mostly from his Republican rivals.  During his first campaign Perot managed to get 19% of the popular vote, an unheard of feat for a third party candidate in modern American elections.

Trump has not garnered such nationwide support in any polls to date. It will be interesting if he runs if he will be able to generate any real popular support.

Not only has Donald Trump decided to leave the Newsmax-proposed GOP debate, he has also decided to leave the Republican party all together.

After only Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum agreed to Trumps debate the slighted businessman and Apprentice host announced that he has switched his voter registration form to read “independent.”

With the switch Trump will be known as a registered “blank” in New York political parlance, the equivalent of an independent.

While Board of Elections officials are not commenting on the change at this time a source a source close to the BoE rules says he missed the October 14 cutoff for the upcoming election cycle and that his switch will take effect after the next election period.

The switch does mean however that he can still vote in the GOP primary and will become a voting independent after the November 2012 general election.

The move isn’t something new for Donald Trump who went from being a Democrat to Republican and now onto Independent, the same type of movement witnessed by New York mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In asking if he might consider a run for President as an independent Trump did not confirm those aspirations but he also didn’t deny the possibility. According to Trump special counsel Michael Cohen he made the move “in order to preserve his right to run as an independent if he is (not pleased) with the GOP nominee.”

If Trump runs as an independent it could hurt his former Republican party which would likely lose some conservative votes to the Trump machine.

Donald Trump won’t be hosting the much-hyped presidential debate at the end of December, but it isn’t for the reason you’re probably thinking. Trump says that his decision to back out of the debate is not because only two candidates have agreed to participate, the Donald says that he’s backing out because he still might run for president.

Trump said that he isn’t confident the American people will choose the “right” presidential candidate. And if the right candidate isn’t chosen, Trump might have to take matters into his own hands and run as an independent.

Trump said:

“It is very important to me that the right Republican candidate be chosen to defeat the failed and very destructive Obama Administration, but if that Republican, in my opinion, is not the right candidate, I am not willing to give up my right to run as an Independent candidate. Therefore, so that there is no conflict of interest within the Republican Party, I have decided not to be the moderator of the Newsmax debate.”

ABC reports that Trump was scheduled to moderate the Dec. 27 debate in Iowa. Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and John Huntsman all issued statements saying that they would not attend the debate if Trump was the moderator. In fact, only Newt Gingirch and Rick Santorum have agreed to be there.

Trump thanked Gingrich and Santorum for their “courage, conviction, and confidence” to accept the invitation to the Newsmax debate and said that it would have been “the most watched debate” as well as the “the most substantive and interesting debate.”

Trump said:

Donald Trump’s republican debate lost another speaker today. Ron Paul, John Huntsman, and Mitt Romney have already announced that they won’t attend the Trump debate, and now Rick Perry has joined them.

Paul, Huntsman, and Romney all said that they wouldn’t attend the debate because Donald Trump was the moderator. Perry, on the other hand, says that he won’t attend because of a scheduling conflict.

Perry said in a statement:

“In the coming weeks, Gov. Perry will be in Iowa almost continually, meeting with real voters, doing town hall meetings and events and talking American jobs, faith and overhauling Washington, DC to Iowa voters. So we have respectfully declined the invitation for the December 27th debate.”

The republican debates haven’t treated Rick Perry well, so it’s not much of a surprise that he’s doing what he can to avoid them.

Of course, Rick Perry’s scripted messages haven’t been too well received either. Perry recently released a campaign video that attacked gays in the military and non-Christians.

When Ron Paul said that he wouldn’t attend the debate, Donald Trump said:

“Few people take Ron Paul seriously and many of his views and presentation make him a clown-like candidate. I am glad (Ron Paul) and Jon Huntsman, who have inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning, will not be attending the debate and wasting the time of the viewers who are trying very hard to make a very important decision.”

The Donald hasn’t commented on Rick Perry’s announcement yet.

Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman said last week that they would not participate in the Iowa debate since it will be moderated by Donald Trump. Both candidates said that they wanted to avoid the media circus that will inevitably ensue during the debate. What Paul and Huntsman both fail to realize is that a media circus cannot be avoided when Mr. Trump is involved.

After it was announced that Donald Trump would be hosting the debate, Ron Paul released the following statement:

“The selection of a reality television personality to host a presidential debate that voters nationwide will be watching is beneath the office of the Presidency and flies in the face of that office’s history and dignity…  Mr. Trump’s participation will contribute to an unwanted circus-like atmosphere…  Therefore our candidate Ron Paul, the champion of the Constitution, has advised he will not attend.”

Huntsman issued a similar statement, although Huntsman’s announcement was a little less insulting… at least to the Donald. Huntsman said:

“We look forward to watching Mitt and Newt suck up to The Donald with a big bowl of popcorn.”

Trump said that he was glad that Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman won’t be attending his debate. Trump said that since Paul and Huntsman have no chance of winning the nomination, the Iowa debate can focus on the more important candidates. Trump told Matt Lauer on The Today Show:

 ”I think most candidates are going to join, I think those two candidates have zero chance of being elected so it makes no difference.. I think they are joke candidates.”

He later clarified to the New York Daily News:

He may not be running for President of the United States but that hasn’t stopped Donald Trump from joining in a GOP Presidential Debate. The billionaire businessman has been invited to host a Newsmax sponsored Republican debate that will air on Ion Television on Dec. 27 in Iowa.

Newsmax Media CEO Christopher Ruddy told the NYT’s Jeremy Peters:

“Our readers and the grass roots really love Trump … They may not agree with him on everything, but they don’t see him as owned by the Washington establishment, the media establishment.”

For his part in the debate The Donald will moderate discussions and point questions at certain members of the GOP party.

The rumor was confirmed by Trump’s personal adviser Michael Cohen.

At this time there is still uncertainty as to which GOP candidates will take part in the late December primary, however because of Trumps ability to attract massive media attention to his projects it’s likely that the frontrunners for the Presidential nomination will show up in force.

GOP candidates are still looking for Trumps endorsement, which despite his failure to run for President after some less than wholesome comments, is still respected among GOP leaders because as Politico points out Trump is:

“A neon stand-in for the type of candidate that GOP primary voters wanted — someone who would take the fight to President Barack Obama.”

Donald Trump is worth $7 billion. That is, if you believe Donald Trump. In his new book, Time to Get Tough, the Donald gives an “accurate and truthful” report about his financial situation. Oh, Trump also hints at a possible presidential run.

According to Forbes, Trump’s worth was previously estimated to be between $250 million to $3 billion. Trump ranked at Number 128 on Forbes 400 list this year with an estimated worth of $2.9 billion. But Trump says that he’s worth a little more than that.

According to Trump, his exact worth is $7,004,900,000. The Daily Mail reports that $3 billion of that is “brand value.”

Trump writes:

‘The Trump Brand Value has been established by Predictive, the highly respected brand valuation company, measuring the financial impact of intangibles such as brand, strategy execution, innovation, and post-merger integration.”

Besides his brand,  Forbes reports that Trump owns $1.37 billion in commercial properties, another $1.22 billion in private clubs, $652 million in co-owned properties, and $261 million in properties in development. Trump also has $270 million in cash and estimates that the Miss Universe pageant is worth about $20 million.

Donald Trump made $7.15 million this week when he sold his custom built Rancho Palos Verdes estate.

The mansion which sits on the Trump National Golf Course occupies 11,000-square-feet and features a game room with a full bar that replicates the same bar found at the courses restaurant.

Among the homes other features are five-bedrooms, nine-bathrooms, a 1,000-square-foot kitchen and a wine room enclosed in glass. For $7.15 million the new home owner also receives an infinity pool in the courtyard along with marble flooring.

Trump won’t be at a loss for a new home at the resort as he has completed five homes and sold three with lots available for 75 homes on the property. Trump currently spends most of his time at homes in Beverly Hills, New York and Los Angeles.

The buyer who purchased the home got it for a steal as it was listed in 2010 for a selling price of $12 million.

Last night on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart made a couple of jokes at Herman Cain’s expense. According to Donald Trump, those jokes were racist and out of line.

Stewart’s segment focused on the sexual assault allegations against Herman Cain. Stewart started the bit with an offensive New York accent, saying:

“In Cain’s defense, there is very little in the pizza world that is not sexually suggestive… Hey, hey, you want sausage on your pie?… Hey, hey, hey, want me to stuff your crust?”

But that isn’t the part Trump has a problem with. Stewart played a segment showing Cain responding to the allegations. When asked if he had ever had to settle a sexual harassment claim, Cain said:

“At the restaurant association. Now outside the restaurant association, absolutely not.”

To which Stewart replied:

“Have you ever kidnapped a baby? Well, other than the Lindbergh boy, no.”

Did you think Republicans were going to let the “is he or isn’t he” birther issue stay dead and buried in the 2012 campaign? Bwahahahaha. The zombie issue of Obama’s “long-form birth certificate” has shuffled back into the press after an interview with Rick Perry, who touched on the subject long enough to create a bit of doubt before asking to move on.

It’s no surprise that Perry- not exactly a Mensa member- has latched on to the idea that a vast conspiracy has shielded the American people from the true story of how Barack Obama was born in Kenya, educated in Indonesia and could possibly be from Hawaii but somehow it doesn’t really make him an American citizen because Hawaii isn’t attached to America or is owned by Japan or something. Whatever, he just doesn’t look right, or so Rick Perry and Donald Trump might have you believe.

Perry and Trump lunched last week, and apparently the President’s eligibility for office was a bit of a hot topic on their date. Perry told Parade that both he and The Donald don’t really think President Obama is a legit American, but that it passive-aggressively doesn’t really matter, he guesses:

Interviewer: That’s not a definitive, “Yes, I believe he”—
Perry: Well, I don’t have a definitive answer, because he’s never seen my birth certificate.

Interviewer: But you’ve seen his.
Perry: I don’t know. Have I?

Interviewer: You don’t believe what’s been released?
Perry: I don’t know. I had dinner with Donald Trump the other night.

Interviewer: And?
Perry: That came up.

Interviewer: And he said?
Perry: He doesn’t think it’s real.

Interviewer: And you said?
Perry: I don’t have any idea. It doesn’t matter. He’s the President of the United States. He’s elected. It’s a distractive issue.

While it seems, thankfully, that the specter of Donald Trump as a 2012 Republican candidate has dissipated, the toupee’d New Yorker hasn’t quit weighing in on the GOP melee going on right now.

Trump has been doing talk show circuits, chatting to hosts about the current Republican frontrunners and dangling his endorsement- which he feels would have a massive impact- around the rapidly shifting pool of GOP frontrunners. And according to Trump, the pool of Republican contenders are all eagerly awaiting the Donald’s nod. He explained earlier on Today:

“Well, I would give somebody a very big leg up. I’ve told some that I will not be making a decision [yet]. They’re all up here. They’re calling.”

Trump said that he felt all the GOP possibilities had more merit than President Obama, who he says “has been a total and complete disaster.”  One candidate he spoke highly of was Herman Cain, and not surprisingly, Trump favors the simplistic 9-9-9 tax plan over more complicated, brainy suggestions:

“I think he’s got great substance. He’s got a great personality. He’s got a great way about him, and people relate to him,” says Trump. He also isn’t completely critical of the 9-9-9 tax plan set forth by Cain. “But [the 9-9-9 tax plan] is something. OK? It’s something. He’s putting something out there. Other people are putting out 97-page reports… He’s not just catering to me, he’s catering to a lot of people, and they understand the simplicity of it. It’s simple. It’s concise. It’s easier to understand. Now, I will say this. I think the sales tax part of it is very tough. Now, do I like being brought down to 9 percent? I love it.”

Kim Kardashian may have invited Donald Trump to her wedding, but apparently the hotel mogul had better things to do, like golfing. Okay so it wasn’t that simple, it turns out the Trumps National Golf Club tournament was already scheduled for August 20 which left the Donald with a declined invite.

According to reports both Donald and wife Melania skipped the wedding and attended their own Bedminster, New Jersey tournament.

While Donald didn’t show, other celebrities were clamoring to get in, including Ellen Degeneres who tweeted:

“‘No invitation to @KimKardashian’s wedding yet. #WorstThingInTheWorld.”

Kardashian quickly followed Ellen’s Tweet with:

“Of course u are invited!!!! COME!”

Among other celebrities in attendance were Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Osbourne, Serena Williams, Demi Lovato and Eva Longoria. Other stars who were rumored but not confirmed at this time include Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Heidi Klum and Kanye West.

Details about the wedding will be fully confirmed when E! Online debuts a two part wedding special titled Kim’s Fairytale Wedding in October.

Even if Donald Trump didn’t show up to the wedding, Kim shouldn’t be too sad, the filming of the event is expected to earn her millions of dollars when it airs and with Kim and Kris having reportedly signed a cover deal with People Magazine. Kim Kardashian fans can also show their support by picking up a limited wedding edition of her perfume Love.

You got to hand it to Kim Kardashian, she really knows how to capitalize on everything that happens in her life, she probably didn’t even realize that Donald Trump was a no show when she was thinking of all the money her wedding was earning her.
