As users type a domain name into the query box, the site immediately checks its availability based on what is being typed. Preview thumbnails of unavailable domains are offered so users can immediately get some feel for what the domain is being used for.

The service is secure so unlike some services (Network Solutions in particular) users don’t risk having their possible domain names locked up or squatted on. There’s an iPhone version as well.

The service is pretty basic, but it’s meant to be; the utility is in the speed and ease of use, and in that regard it fully delivers.
