Poor Lindsay Lohan.

In becoming an unwitting poster child for downward spirals of shame, stories have abounded on gossip blogs and in celebrity news about Lohan’s seemingly never-ending series of public embarrassments. The latest schadenfraude in the Lohan saga involves a Carvel “black card” for free ice cream, a police fracas at one of the ice cream retailers locations and a truly sad press release issued by the company about the Lohan family’s “abuse” of the privilege. Having your card declined is one thing, having your free ice cream card snipped in half at the checkout is infinitely more mortifying.

Carvel must feel that Lohan is an acceptable target at this point, because the following “news release” was posted to their press relations page:

ATLANTA, GA (June 17, 2010) – As part of Carvel’s 75th Anniversary celebration last year, we issued 75 Black Cards to celebrities.  These cards were issued in the celebrity’s name and require the card holder to be present at the time of use. Many celebrities have enjoyed their cards at our Carvel Ice Cream shoppes and have shared their excitement with being included in the celebration.

Unfortunately, the Lohan family has been abusing the card.   While the card was issued in Lindsay and Ali’s names only, their extended family has repeatedly used the card without either present.   At first, we graciously honored their requests while explaining that the Black Card was not a carte blanche for unlimited Carvel Ice Cream for the extended Lohan family and friends.  After more than six months of numerous and large orders for ice cream, we finally had to cut off the card and take it back.

Dina Lohan reacted badly and called the police to have her card returned.  The police responded and did return the card to Dina with instructions not to use it again.

This is an unfortunate situation where certain people feel entitled to use a celebrity’s name for their own purposes.  We regret that the Lohan family is upset and hope this matter is put behind us quickly.

Wow. I’ve started to feel like I’m in the Lohan’s living room witnessing the. biggest. fight. ever.: thankfully, I don’t have to be anywhere near Michael Lohan to get the gossip. That’s good, since he sounds one step away from crazy while dealing with Lindsay and Sam’s most recent retaliations.

While the first paragraph below is a must-read, I’ll give you a short synopsis of Michael’s charming response: Dina’s a “two-face,” Lindsay doesn’t make any money now, and everyone’s “out of control” except him (because he goes to church and helps people, you know):

“‘Who’s out of control? Whose life is out of control? Give me a break. Going from place to place, being dragged around by Samantha so she can make more money off of Lindsay being there when she spins … She’s gone from making $7 million to less than a million a movie. Who’s out of control? I go to church. I go and help people in rehab. That’s control. How can she say I’m out of control?

I want Lindsay to be in a good place. When I started looking at what Samantha was doing, dragging Lindsay to clubs, drinking around Lindsay … Samantha is one of the biggest problems in her life. That’s what Dina told me. I’m reacting on what Dina said, but then Dina steps out of the picture because she wants to look like the good guy.

Dina’s a two-face. She wants to try to look good and stay on Lindsay’s good side instead of being a good parent. I don’t give two hoots about my relationship with Lindsay as a friend. One day she’s going to turn around to me and tell me, ‘Daddy, you were right.’

If they’re going to say I’m lying, I’m out of control, I’m going to show that they’re lying and they’re out of control.’”

Let’s play a game. How many times does Michael Lohan say “control” in that first paragraph, and does that really signal that someone’s got it together when they do that?

Michael Lohan Strikes Back at Lindsay and Sam is a post from: The Inquisitr

Dina and Michael Lohan both made an appearance in court today to hash out the details of their reopened divorce case. I have to admit that I was a little worried, especially after it was released that Dina would face “immediate arrest and imprisonment” if she didn’t show up in Old Westbury court this morning.

Michael had reopened the divorce case in order to see his younger children Ali, 14, and Cody, 11, also stating that Dina was making it difficult for him to see Michael Jr. and Lindsay. According to the court documents, Michael also claims that Dina was openly drunk in front of the children, and didn’t bring the two youngest to 15 of 29 judge-ordered, therapist-supervised visits.

I was hoping for some dirt after they met today, but it turns out that the hearing has been adjourned until July 14th without much to spill. According to reports, the Family Court Judge Stacy Bennett was “extremely encouraged” that the two parties were cooperating.

No cat fights, then? Aw. I’m sure that Michael Lohan would have told us about them if there were!

Wild child Lindsay Lohan has gotten enough attention to last a lifetime, but it’s much too stereotypical to blame the parents, right? Probably– but at the same time, praising them probably serves as total overcompensation.

Mingling Moms, a Long Island social group, has popped out of the woodwork to honor Dina Lohan for not doing much– just for raising Lindsay and getting her into the spotlight. She’s not the only one, thank goodness, with other honors going to moms who have raised celebrity-grade brood, from Natalie Portman’s mother Shelley Stevens Hershlag to Patricia Vian, Mariah Carey’s mother.

Could we sense just a little awkward tension in the Mingling Mom’s rep’s most recent statements? “We’re just honoring celebrities’ moms on Long Island. It’s something for Mother’s Day.” *Just*? Way to downplay your own celebrity awards banquet. Could someone be getting a tad defensive?

I have a feeling that someone’s going to be plugging “Living Lohan” at a certain banquet in Long Island today.
