If you’re like me and didn’t attack the seventh season until last week, then you may want to bow out now — there be spoilers ahead!

Anyone left at this point, you’ve either seen how last season ended, or you don’t mind that we blow it for you. Either way, let’s begin.

Dexter left off a few months ago following the jaw-dropping decision to kill off Maria LaGuerta (Lauren Velez). Okay, with the spot Dex (Michael C. Hall) was in, LaGuerta’s death wasn’t that surprising considering that we knew at the time the eight season would probably be the final run of episodes.

Still, choosing Debra Morgan (Jennifer Carpenter) as her killer was a shock. We figured Dexter would have done the deed himself, but his loyal sister didn’t give him the chance.

Picking up a few months after the shooting, the Dexter final season trailer shows that Deb is not okay with her decision, and she hates her brother for it.

In the three minutes presented here, Dexter’s murderous identity appears safe with LaGuerta gone, but as Deb’s brother, he looks a little desperate to help his sister overcome the events in the storage container.

Deb is working undercover, hooked on prescription meds, and getting into car accidents while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

That’s when Miami’s favorite blood spatter analyst falls under the watchful eye of neuropsychiatrist Dr. Evelyn Vogel (screen veteran Charlotte Rampling). She appears to see through Dexter’s facade to the heart of the killer underneath.

(ENSTARZ has a little more on the Vogel character for those interested.)

How this will end up is anyone’s guess, but we’re thinking from the tone and feel — and the fact that a Deb Morgan spinoff is in talks — that Dexter doesn’t get out alive, and whatever sacrifice he makes will probably be for the good of his sister.

Are we crazy or what?

What did you think of the Dexter final season trailer — certain doom, a new beginning, or a little bit of both?

Hall, Dexter star, may be done with the character that turned him from bit player to leading man, but he’s not done with Showtime Networks, according to a Monday article on The Hollywood Reporter website.

THR noted that Hall has partnered with Showtime to adapt American Dream Machine, the Matthew Specktor novel that tells the family saga of a talent agent and his sons.

Beau Rosenwald arrives in Hollywood broke in the 1970s, and by the end of the decade emerges as one of Tinseltown’s biggest players, building one of the most successful talent agencies in the history of movies and television.

However, life is not always wine and roses. The novel chronicles Rosenwald’s “rise, fall, and rise,” and is billed as “a sweeping narrative about fathers and sons, the movie business, and the sundry sea changes that have shaped Hollywood and, by extension, American life” (Amazon book blurb).

THR also noted that Hall would not take a central role in the saga, though he is “eyeing” a supporting slot. The adaptation is planned as a series, and should it move to pilot, it’s hard to imagine Showtime would let their star confine himself to behind-the-scenes activities, but lately Hall has shown more of an affinity for it.

(He recently directed an episode of his hit show’s seventh season.)

Scott Buck, who worked as showrunner on Dexter, will be helping Michael C. Hall with the adaptation, stepping up as script supervisor, while Specktor will write and Hall will executive produce.

Recently, Showtime announced that the eighth season would be the last for Dexter Morgan, though the cable channel has indicated some interest in a spinoff.

Early reports have indicated that said spinoff could focus on our favorite serial killer’s foul-mouthed sis Debra. More on that here:

Are you looking forward to life after Dexter? What do you think about Michael C. Hall and his next project?

Mark Twitchell, a convicted murderer known for his M.O. which was based on that of fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan, is enjoying the Showtime series Dexter from his jail cell.

The 33-year-old aspiring filmmaker of Edmonton, Alberta, was convicted of first degree murder in the 2008 disappearance and death of John Brian “Johnny” Altinger. Twitchell had apparently lured the 38-year-old to his garage under the pretense of shooting a horror film.

The case received wide media attention, particularly over the charge that Twitchell had modeled the luring, murder and dismemberment of Altinger on the protagonist of the Dexter TV series.

Currently serving a life sentence in the maximum security wing of Saskatchewan Penitentiary, Twitchell is reportedly allowed to watch the show that arguably lit his path into the very cell he enjoys it from.

According to the National Post, Twitchell wasn’t allowed to watch the show while he awaited trial, but there are no such restrictions in his federal pen.

He bought a flat-screen TV for his private cell, and has access to over 60 cable TV channels.

In prison letters, Twitchell says he has completely caught up on Dexter since his 2008 arrest, and praises the show for its “innovative writing.”

This revelation has caused some controversy, with many wondering why Twitchell should be allowed to watch the show when it is so inextricably linked to his crime.

“It’s very upsetting because if you’re serving life for murder you shouldn’t be allowed all these little perks, especially if it’s going to keep fuelling his obsession,” said Jane Orydzuk of the Victims of Homicide Support Society.

But one criminologist says that there’s not much that can be done about Twitchell’s TV habits. “As much as people might find it reprehensible that he continues to consume this type of media, he has the legal right to consume it,” said Stacey Hannem.

For his part, Twitchell doesn’t understand why anyone would begrudge his desire to continue watching Dexter, and criticized the prison staff working with him.

“They know nothing about me,” he wrote in a letter. “They are merely bureaucrats who update my file.”

Do you think that Mark Twitchell should be allowed to watch Dexter?

Julian Sands has been announced as someone who will have a recurring role on the eighth and final season of Dexter. There aren’t a whole lot of details being released about this finale season of the Showtime hit show.

That certainly hasn’t changed when it comes to what Sands might be doing in the show. We do know that the British actor who usually plays a more well to do person who has a bit of a dark side will be playing a businessman who goes by the name of Miles Foster.

Julian Sands’s new character will apparently be one of those ruthless types who travels all over the world. How and when he crosses paths with our titular hero is anyone’s guess at this point but more than one person has already guessed that Foster will be a serial killer.

Should he turn into someone that Dexter has to take down, the showdown could be one of the better ones we’ve seen over the years. Another new cast member is Darri Ingolfsson who will also have a recurring role on the show.

Much like Sands, Ingolfsson’s length of stay on the show is not known but we do know that he will appear in a multi-episode arc that will have him dating Dexter’s neighbor.

Darri Ingolfsson’s character will be an antiques dealer who mostly is involved in medieval weapons. Considering that this is indeed the final year that Dexter will be fighting his special brand of the “good fight” it is likely that the characters that are introduced this season will be exiting the series in some rather original and probably gruesome ways.

Fans of the show can take heart in the fact that there has been a spinoff confirmed. This means you will be able to get your Dexter fix in other ways.

Are you excited to see what Julian Sands can do as a guest star?

Showtime Networks chairman and CEO Matthew C. Blank brought the news.

“When it debuted in 2006, Dexter redefined the genre, by taking the anti-hero to new heights and pushing the boundaries of the television landscape,” Blank said. “Dexter paved the way for the next generation of award-winning hit Showtime series, and its cultural impact will be felt for years to come.”

Deadline noted how the series hasn’t lost a step in the ratings, continuing to break records while serving as a launchpad for other shows, most recently the smash hit Homeland.

Corroborating that statement, Entertainment Weekly noted that the seventh season’s finale reached a record-high 2.8 million viewers. That’s saying something when you consider how solid the fourth and sixth seasons were.

Despite the goldmine the series has been for Showtime, rumors began circulating during the sixth season that Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) would soon be packing up his kill room.

And just last month Les Moonves, the CEO of Showtime parent company CBS, all but confirmed it.

At a Q&A session, Moonves said, “We have Ray Donovan coming on, with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter‘s last season starting in June.”

Before the start of the seventh season, producer Sara Cottleton also started bracing audiences.

“We wanted to end it this year, but the network convinced us that it would be best to do it in two years. In some ways, this is a two-season series-ender. We have worked that out and know where it’s going to end.”

Cottleton continued: “Next year will definitely be the last year of Dexter. Absolutely. From the very beginning, when I first started developing the pilot, I always knew it would be a seven-year arc for this series. I feel easily that we can be an eight-year show, but I never want it to get old and stale.”

Cottleton wanted the series to go out on a high, she said, adding that “everybody on the show is determined to keep the level of it up to the very end. It’s always wise to know when it’s time to leave the stage before you’re asked to leave the stage.”

For a sneak peak at Dexter season 8, check the video below, and yes, this is a brand new release and a minute longer than the one we brought you in March.

For seven years, Dexter has been one of the few examples of water cooler television left on the airwaves. It’s a show you plan your Sunday nights around. One you unfriend Facebook contacts over if they can’t keep their status updates quiet.

Do you think Dexter season 8 is the right time to end it? Would you like to see Dexter Morgan on the big screen, perhaps with adaptations of the Jeff Lindsay novels?

The difference between this particular trailer and those we usually get to see is that this one doesn’t have any footage of the upcoming season.

Showtime has decided to pay homage to the ridiculously huge death count that their titular character has been responsible for by simply showing every name of someone who has died on the show. Not all of the names are people that do-gooding serial killer has actually offed but all the names are of people who have died because of him.

Dexter isn’t even the only one who might have been responsible for some of these deaths. A couple of the names are on the list thanks to Deb’s actions or lack there of in certain cases.

The show is so dark and disturbing that it appears that the cast gets into some really weird trouble in real life on occasion. Mabel Pantaleon who appeared in one episode went missing during the summer last year. Luckily she turned up safe and sound at a New York airport.

It has been pointed out that if you haven’t caught up to the end of season 7 you may not want to watch this particular trailer. There is apparently a rather large spoiler to the seventh season’s finale.

While this is the first trailer to hit the net, it most likely won’t be the last. There’s about three more months until the show finally gets started and its a safe bet that Showtime’s PR machine will be ramping up for something really big

The beginning of the series’ final season is set to get started on June 30.

When Dexter begins its final season, will you be going out of your way in order to take it in.

The 8th season of the hit Showtime show will premiere this Summer and according to Les Moonves it will be the final season.

During a Q&A session today, Moonves said that “Dexter’s last season” will start this June.

Moonves, who was asked about Showtime’s future shows, said: “We have Ray Donovan coming on, with Liev Schreiber, which comes on with Dexter‘s last season starting in June…”

It may not be an official announcement but Moonves, who is the president and CEO of CBS (the parent company of Showtime), would certainly know when Dexter would be coming to an end. Showtime hasn’t commented on Moonves’ interview.

Of course, Moonves may have misspoken or he may have been misinformed. Dexter is currently bringing in a massive audience for Showtime and if it continues to do so during season 8 it wouldn’t be surprising to see at least one more season.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Dexter broke Showtime’s audience record for an original series last year when 2.6 million viewers tuned into watch an episode about the serial killer.

This isn’t the first time that Dexter fans have had to face the reality that the show would be coming to an end.

Before the start of season seven, producer Sara Cottleton said:

“We wanted to end it this year, but the network convinced us that it would be best to do it in two years. In some ways, this is a two-season series-ender. We have worked that out and know where it’s going to end. Next year will definitely be the last year of Dexter. Absolutely. It’s always wise to know when it’s time to leave the stage before you’re asked to leave the stage.”

Do you think it’s time for Dexter to hang up his bloody tarp?

COMMENTARY | With the memory of Quentin Tarantino’s recent face-off with a journalist over his refusal to answer a question about whether movie violence affected real life violence still fresh, television executives have now been drawn into the wider debate.

During the latest portion of the 2013 Television Critics Association press tour (TCA) in Pasadena, Calif., which continues into next week, executives were asked the seemingly eternal question at time when America is struggling to understand events like the mass shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Aurora, Colo., and so many others.

According to The Associated Press, executives were reluctant to make any connection between the output they air and real life-tragedies.

Robert Greenblatt, one time of head of Showtime cable network, which airs the exceedingly dark Dexter, and who is now in charge of the development of a forthcoming NBC series based on “Hannibal Lecter,” said:

“I’m not a psychologist, so I’m not sure you can make the leap (that) a show about serial killers has caused the sort of problems with violence in our country.” He added, “There are many, many other factors, from mental illness to guns.”

Those sentiments were more or less echoed by Kevin Reilly, Fox entertainment chairman, who AP said was “clearly annoyed” about being publicly questioned about the level of violence on television, replying with a blunt “No,” when he was asked if Fox had made any changes to the promotion/content of their forthcoming series The Following in light of the Newtown atrocity.

Given that Fox’s ominously advertised Kevin Bacon starrer premieres on January 21 and is about a charismatic serial killer who recruits followers and includes extremely graphic scenes of violence, the question is timely — if nothing else.

But Reilly was unequivocal about his belief that fictional violence has no impact on the real world, stating:

“It trivializes it to try and link it to television, or broadcast television in particular. Part of entertainment, part of what we do on television, is to provide escapism. Escapism comes in many forms. It could be laughter. It could be fantasy. It is also your worst nightmare come to life. And it makes our palms sweat and it moves us emotionally and puts us on the edge of the seat. We are engrossed in it and we forget ourselves for an hour.”

The Washington Post reports that CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler also called for a time out on similar questioning, after being asked several.

The outlet also notes that CBS is America’s most-watched television network and has a huge amount of crime procedural programming, with a fictional body count that comes with that.

During the press meet, Tassler revealed that CBS planned to promote its forthcoming Stephen King based series at the Super Bowl. Although that series will features violent scenes — albeit fantastical, Tassler insisted that nothing on CBS “is inappropriate, and our attention is always to continue to be a broadcaster that creates content for a vast, diverse audience.”

Paul Lee, ABC’s entertainment president, was one of two voices that AP says appeared most open to discuss the debate on possible violence osmosis between screen and reality.

“We welcome the conversation as to how we as a culture can make sure that we don’t let these events happen again,” Lee said, adding, that [he thought] ABC had stronger broadcasting standards than its competitors.

“We talk about it all the time,” he said. “We are storytellers. We have to tell stories that are vibrant and passionate, but we want to make sure that the stories that we tell are done with integrity, you know, there’s no gratuitous action that goes out there, that it’s driven through the stories and the characters, and that we have a moral compass in what we do.”

The second voice belonged to FX President John Landgraf who recently said he had no objection to further studies on the entertainment industry’s effect on real violence — if any. Then, qualified, adding that he didn’t know if changing on-air content was necessary, The Washington Post notes.

The latter part of TCA’s 13 day panel tour come on the heels of Vice President Joe Biden’s meeting with entertainment executives last Friday.

Biden’s fact gathering mission before making recommendations about gun control and societal violence to President Obama on Tuesday, has seen Biden meet with an array of interest groups and entertainment heads, said The Globe And Mail.

And so it goes on, the talking and the blaming. The debate which at times resembles a stick used to beat easy targets while more glaring examples of violence go unchallenged, will undoubtedly continue for a while yet.

Tarantino may have inarticulately expressed his frustrations last week, but as Movieline’s Ross.A Lincoln said in the comments section of his own brilliantly observed article and this writer concurs:

“America’s actual legacy of violence far outshines any pop culture influence on violence.”

Today’s fun headline: A man actually bit a police dog while he was being arrested in Australia.

“Man bites dog” is the ultimate headline for journalists (we’ll explain why below), and headline writers the internet-over are rejoicing at this quirky story. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that police responded to an apprehended violence order breach at a Berkley resident around 11 pm. When confronted by police, the 31-year-old suspect grabbed Dexter, the police dog, by the neck and tried to bite him.

The man actually managed to sink his teeth into the dog, causing him to bite back several times. “As you can imagine, Dexter did a better job of it,” said one officer.

The man was arrested and will need stitches for his own bite wounds. How’s Dexter doing?

”It was a nasty bite, not too much blood but there is a portion of his skin missing on the right biceps. Dexter’s OK. An examination found bruising to the ear. He’s had a full tetanus shot and is fine.”

The man has been charged extensively with destruction or damage of property, committing an act of cruelty upon an animal, resisting police, possessing prescribed restricted substance, and contravening an apprehended violence order.

So why is “man bites dog” such a big deal in the journalism world? “Man bites dog” represents an idea in journalism that argues readers (like yourself) much prefer unusual and at-times outlandish news over common, everyday occurrences. A story is considered more “newsworthy” if there’s something weird, comical, or ironic about it. For instance, if a dog bites a man, it’s not very likely that you’ll care to read about it because there’s nothing out of the ordinary there. However, if “man bites dog,” that’s far more likely to get your attention.

So if you’re reading snarky “man bites dog” headlines across the internet today, it’s mostly a journalistic inside-joke, and you are now on the inside.

Actress Aimee Garcia, who is probably best known for her roles in both Trauma and Dexter, has reportedly signed on for a role in director Jose Padilha’s RoboCop remake. According to Cinema Blend, Garcia will portray one of the scientists who helps bring fallen police officer Alex Murphy back to life. The film began production in Toronto last week.

The Hollywood Reporter states that Garcia is currently filming her second season of Dexter, Showtime’s hit show about a forensic expert who moonlights as a serial killer. Given that production on the aforementioned reboot is currently underway, Garcia may be forced to pull double duty in order to fulfill her obligations to both projects. The seventh season of Dexter is currently scheduled to air on September 30.

Jose Padilha’s RoboCop remake has generated a fair amount of controversy as of late. Fans of Paul Verhoeven’s 80s action classic were more than a little irritated over leaked images of their hero’s brand new design. Since the newest version of RoboCop is a lot sleeker and less robotic that its predecessor, those who consider the original film to be one of the greatest motion pictures in history have been extremely vocal about the alterations.

“The original Robocop looked like a robot, this one looks like a guy in a suit,” one Reddit user bemoaned. “I had no doubt that the original Robocop was just a dude’s face and torso stuck inside a machine. This one just looks like he’s wearing armor.”

Honestly, I wouldn’t want to be in director Jose Padilha’s shoes at the moment. Although he’s proven his worth with several incredible motion pictures — if you haven’t seen his award-winning documentary Bus 174, you probably should — outrage over the very idea of a RoboCop remake has completely overshadowed the guy’s skills as a filmmaker.

What do you think about the upcoming RoboCop remake? Are you a fan of the character’s brand new design? Do you think Aimee Garcia is a suitable addition to the cast?

When James Remar is not busy starring in Dexter he can be found treating massive head wounds suffered by homeless people in Los Angeles.

Remar saw the man outside of a Los Angeles grocery store and noticed that he was bleeding profusely from the head. In a former life Remar was an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in California and his training apparently kicked into high gear when he saw someone in need of his help.

Remar went into the store and purchased bandages and antiseptic cream, he then went outside, cleaned up the homeless man’s injury, dressed the wound and then he explained to the man how to care for his head injury to avoid infection.

Remar’s rep tells TMZ that James “sprung into action simply because he felt it was the right thing to do.”

The homeless man was just lucky that Remar didn’t follow the traditional path of an actor because his past experience as a waiter probably wouldn’t have been as helpful.

If you’re impressed with Remar’s actions you can next catch him in Django Unchained where he plays Alex Speck in the Quentin Tarantino written and directed movie.

Are you impressed with James Remar’s selfless act of heroism?

Mabel Pantaleon, the actress who disappeared in New York City on Sunday, has been located as she was trying to get on a plane at JFK Airport.

The New York Post reports that missing actress “was attempting to buy a plane ticket when her name popped up on a police database and airline officials notified cops, who came and took her to Jamaica Hospital, according to her brother.”

ABC News further reports that Mabel Pantaleon, 31, was detained by New York Port Authority police last night. “She was in [Port Authority's] custody on Thursday evening. She was in good condition, and there was nothing suspicious,” said Sgt. John Buthorn of the NYPD.

Various press accounts indicate that Mabel Pantaleon has a history of manic depression, and ABC News suggest that she may have gone off her meds.

In addition to Dexter on Showtime, Pantaleon has also appeared in Mystery ER on the Discovery Network and possibly CSI (although the latter role does not appear in her IMDB profile).

Family members are understandably relieved, according to the New York Daily News:

“We are very happy that they found her, very happy,” said Felis Pantaleon, 55. Mabel Pantaleon was in good condition, but taken to Jamaica Hospital for evaluation, her dad said.“We still don’t know why she went missing. We are hoping she tells us once she’s better.”

Mabel Pantaleon’s IMDB profile indicates that she was the 2003 second runner up in the Miss Latina New York USA pageant and that she quit a nursing program at the New York City College of Technology to pursue her acting career.

Pantaleon’s mother added, ABC reports, that her daughter saw something on the Internet that upset her “and she started saying a lot of weird things”…

Showtime has just released two new promo videos in anticipation of the upcoming seventh season of its hit show Dexter.

In the videos, we see clips of both Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) tossing and turning under the covers as Dex, in voice-over, talks about his worst fears.

“It’s my worst nightmare. Uncontrollable. Inescapable,” Dexter narrates in one of the promo clips. “My dark passenger exposed to the one person I’ve always thought I could protect from it. The only thing worse than not knowing what she’ll do is not knowing what I’ll do.”

In the other, Dexter poses the thought:

“I’ve found a way to live with my secret, but I never had a choice. Does she?”

Though similar, each new promotional clip ends in a unique fashion, highlighting either Dexter or Debra as they ponder over what the other might do with the shocking reveal at the end of season 6, wherein Deb sought her adopted brother out to confess her romantic feelings and instead found him plunging a knife into the Doomsday Killer.

Executive producer Scott Buck recently teased what audience could expect from the upcoming airing, saying,

“Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis’ chest, but it’s just the opposite. She now has to deal with what she’s seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself.”

Check out both of the new Dexter season 7 promos below:

Dexter returns to Showtime on Sunday, September 30 at 9/8c.

Readers let us know: Are you a fan of America’s “nicest” serial killer? What are your thoughts on the newest Dexter season 7 promos, are they sexy or just plain awkward?

Yvonne Strahovski, the former Chuck star has been snatched up for a multi episode arc on Showtime’s long-running Dexter series.

This will be the actress’s first gig since Chuck ended in January, according to Entertainment Weekly, where she will play Hanna McKay, a strong and independent woman who helps Miami Metro Homicide solve some old cases.

The Hollywood Reporter notes to watch out for Strahovski’s character though, as she struggles to put her past behind her. EW also notes that the casting scoop warns that there’s more to her character, Hanna, than meets the eye, and that Dexter (played by Michael C. Hall) will be the first to suspect it.

Katia Winter is also set to play a Russian stripper who is working at a Miami club, joining other season 7 newbies Jason Gedrick (who plays the strip club manager) and Ray Stevenson (the leader of a Russian organized crime syndicate. Yvonne Strahovski joins previous A-list guest stars, such as Jimmy Smits, Julia Stiles, and John Lithgow (who received an Emmy for his role in the serial-killer drama).

Production for season 7 of Dexter began last week, and the first episode is set to premiere on September 30. The Hollywood Reporter notes that Showtime has renewed the popular series for two additional seasons, which they believe “will likely bring the serial-killer drama to its end.”

Strahovski is not the only Chuck actor to work on another filming project, with IMDB credits showing Zachary Levi in the upcoming Thor 2 movie.

What do you think of Yvonne Strahovski playing in season 7 of Showtime’s Dexter?

After announcing their split nearly a year ago, Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter, co-stars on the hit Showtime drama series, have officially finalized their divorce.

AceShowbiz reports that the couple, who played on-screen siblings in Dexter, had their dissolution of marriage completed by Superior Court Judge John Sandoz in Los Angeles on Friday, December 2.

Court filings state the details of the division of property will remain confidential.

Despite the divorce, Carpenter – who initially married Hall in December of 2008 – has said she and Michael remain close, and that their working environment on the Showtime drama remains great despite their personal history.

Additionally, Zap2it points out that show, currently in its sixth season, was just renewed for two more seasons, so barring serial killer Dexter killing Debra off, the pair will be working together for awhile longer.

Duqu is one of the most intricate, mysterious viruses to be released in several years, matched only in complexity by its predecessor, Stuxnet, but there’s apparently a lighter side to the virus hidden away in the code.

When digging about the source code of an earlier version for clues on how Duqu works and who made it, Moscow-based Kaspersky Lab discovered an “easter egg” of sorts: a reference to Showtime’s hit television show Dexter.

One of the lines of code, referencing a fake font that is utilized in the attack, reads:

That the creators have a sense of humor (and a love for Dexter) wasn’t the only thing Kapersky Lab learned about Duqu in their digging, however. When investigating an earlier variant of the virus, researchers discovered a driver signed in 2007, suggesting that development on Duqu could have begun as early as four years ago.

“We can’t be 100% sure [of that date], but all the compiled dates of other files seem to match to attacks,” said Roel Schouwenberg, a senior researcher with Kaspersky, in an interview today (via Computer World). “So we’re leaning towards that date as correct.”

Microsoft has yet to release a patch, but in the interim they’ve offered a temporary fix for the vulnerability. You can find out more about that at this link.

Next month Michael C. Hall will be back in contract negotiations with Showtime over his hit serial killer series Dexter and in the meantime rumors are circulating that Hall is already in negotiations to star in the Big Fish musical which will open in the Spring of 2012.

Hall actually appeared on stage before his breakout role in Six Feet Under and continuing career in Dexter. Michael’s stage credits include off-Broadway productions of Cymbeline and Macbeth.

According to BroadwayWorld.com:

“Susan Stroan will direct the stage adaptation of the Tim Burton film, which will feature music by Andrew Lippa. Hugh Jackman was originally rumored to star in the production, but ‘his movie schedule got in the way and the producers turned to Hall.”

The move comes after Michael battled cancer in 2010, a disease even his own agents didn’t know he had at first, after being given a clean bill of health Hall returned to his hit series.

It’s still unclear at this time if the Broadway production is a sign that Dexter will soon be coming to an end or if Hall simply plans to work on his craft during the off-season of Dexter production.

Do you want to see Michael C. Hall take on the lead role in Big Fish? I personally close my eyes and picture him as Dexter, perhaps other fans of the show will have better suspension of disbelief.

Showtime is pulling several of their hit series from Netflix streaming service. According to reports both Dexter and Californication, two of the only reasons to watch Showtime are being pulled once the company’s contract expires with Netflix late in the year.

Both shows will be available through Showtime’s Anytime streaming service.

The company, owned by CBS, isn’t dissolving their entire relationship, for example Sleeper Cell and The Tudors will remain on the network, while CBS will still show various older shows including Star Trek and Frasier.

It’s still unclear if Showtime is attempting to punish Netflix for recently purchasing first run rights on House Of Cards, a new series featuring Kevin Spacey and produced by David Fincher.

Showtime is downplaying the recent show buy from Netflix, instead standing behind their position that this was always part of their own exit strategy which will allow them to focus on their own paid streaming service.
