It has been a tough year for Demi Moore.  She found out her husband of six years, Ashton Kutcher, had an affair and then the couple split for good.  Since then she has teetered on the edge, appearing for live events such as parties and film festivals looking horribly skinny and strung out.

Most reports of Demi have had the actress at bars and clubs dancing and partying like crazy.  She and her daughter were in the Caribbean at a club until 4am just a few weeks ago before the Golden Globes.

Well the worst fears of many were realized when it was reported that 2 days ago Demi was rushed ot the hospital for exhaustion and being under nourished.  Now they are saying she went to rehab for substance abuse.

It seems that the recent split from Ashton has Demi in a state of depression that she is trying to medicate with drugs and alcohol.

She recently told magazine Harper’s Bazaar,

“What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable. That I’m not worthy of being loved.”

Her publicist tried to deflect from the substance abuse issue by saying,

“Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

Actress Demi Moore, who recently filed for divorce from her husband of six years Ashton Kutcher, opened up in her first interview post-split to her friend and British photographer Amanda De Cadenet. During the candid talk for Harper’s Bazaar magazine the actress admitted that her worst fear is  “not worthy of being loved”.

Throughout the marriage the pair was in constant public scrutiny much over the 16-year age difference between the two. Throughout their marriage Demi and Ashton weren’t afraid to show their affection and private moments for the world to peek into on the popular social networking site Twitter.

Moore kept mum on the circumstances surrounding her split from Two and A Half Men star, but the interview with De Cadenet spanned the gamut of issues the 49 year-old actress was willing to reveal. “What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved. That there’s something fundamentally wrong with me…and that I wasn’t wanted here in the first place.”

The statement doesn’t come as much of a surprise since Demi Moore’s marriage came to a crash and burn after a San Diego woman went public about a brief fling she had with Kutcher. Since then it’s been a constant question as to what steps Moore will take to publicly separate herself in the media from Kutcher, that includes whether or not she plans to change her @mrskutcher twitter handle, which boasts a whopping 4,472,584 followers.

If it wasn’t apparent before that Demi Moore isn’t exactly focused on dwelling on the failure of her third marriage to Kutcher, then it will be when the interview hits the stands in February.

Moore stated, “Letting go of the outcome. Truly being in the moment. Not reflecting on the past. Not projecting into the future. That’s freedom. Not caring more about what other people think than what you think. That’s freedom.

“To not be defined by your wounds. Somebody wrote something to me that said, ‘Don’t let your wounds make you become someone you’re not.’ That’s really powerful. And not taking life too seriously,”

What’s next for Demi Moore as a single woman? Any guesses?

“Well, I think it’s pretty obvious to everybody,” Handler said after Morgan alluded to the fact that the the breakup was due to “Ashton’s bad behavior.” “Again, I don’t know them personally very well, but I think it’s pretty obvious that they probably had a lot of open marriage-type situations.”

According to RadarOnline, Moore — who recently announced she was ending her six-year marriage with Kutcher — was a very willing advocate of bringing other women into the bedroom.

“I think they probably had a lot of good times with some other women,” Handler explained, adding: “They probably had a lot of threesomes that led to twosomes without Demi and that leads to a divorce.”

Morgan, seemingly shocked by Handler’s claims, proceeded to a roll a clip of Kutcher and Moore on his show just months before their split,  when the duo appeared to be “very much in love.”

“You’ve got to feel for [them],” Piers said after showing the video.

“Oh I absolutely feel for her,” said Handler, who has never been married but has been romantically linked to 50 Cent, Ted Harbert and Dave Salmon in the past. “Demi and Ashton were clearly in love.”

In addition to dishing on celebrity breakups, Handler, just having agreed to a new two-year $25 million deal with E! to remain on Chelsea Lately, explained her simple method for scoring the big bucks.

“I do behave badly and I get paid well for it,” she said, adding, “It’s a really good time to be me.”

Demi Moore wasn’t at Ashton Kutcher’s side at the GQ Gentleman’s Ball at the Edison Ballroom in NYC on Wednesday night, but she was there symbolically.

Kutcher wore his wedding ring at the event, where he was honored for the foundation he and Moore co-founded. Yahoo!’s ‘omg!’ blog reports that Kutcher looked “rapt” and “somber” while footage of him with his wife was played on giant screens.

The Two and a Half Men star attended Wednesday’s event with Rabbi Philip Berg, current Dean of the worldwide Kabbalah Centre organization. After being honored for “Real Men Don’t Buy Girls,” Moore and Kutcher’s anti-child prostitution charity, Kutcher took to the stage and delivered a heartfelt speech (apparently with its fair share of swear words):

“Our global issues are getting tougher. A lot of the things we’re doing we can’t talk about, but I can promise you we’re fighting and we’re going to make a change, so that’s a little about what I’m working on.”

Yahoo! also mentions that Kutcher bumped into radio personality Craig Schwartz (otherwise known as ‘Radio Man’) after the event, while waiting for his car outside the venue. Reportedly, Schwartz carefully asked Kutcher if he was okay with “everything that’s going on.”

Kutcher replied with an equally diplomatic, “Yeah. Yes. I am doing OK, thanks. Thank you for caring. Thank you for caring, really. It means a lot.”

Last month, allegations started flying that Kutcher, 33, had slept with 22-year-old Sara Leal on the eve of his sixth wedding anniversary with Moore, 48. Since then, media attention has intensified, with Leal selling her story to a slavering press.

Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are said to have turned to kabbalah to save their relationship, after Kutcher allegedly cheated on Moore with 23-year-old Sara Leal.

X17 Online reports Moore and Kutcher spent Friday morning together at L.A.’s Kabbalah Center, but arrived and left separately. And a ‘Demi insider’ reportedly told ET that the Ghost actress is “sad, hurt and embarrassed” about the situation. The mole added that the pair have “been receiving counseling from kabbalah over the summer to try to fix their marriage.”

“Demi and Ashton were really dressed up for today’s service. While Ashton pulled up in their black Lexus, Demi exited out of a side door of the Kabbalah Centre and quickly jumped in the car. She clearly did not want to be photographed.”

Several reports have noted that both are still wearing their wedding rings, but the rumor is the pair have taken to living apart.

Of course, such buzz is far from confirmed. Little has been directly stated by Moore and Kutcher themselves. Back on September 23rd, Moore (who may want to alter her Twitter moniker if this turns out to be true) tweeted a quote from Greek sage Epictetus:

“When we are offended at any man’s fault, turn to yourself & study your own failings. Then you will forget your anger.”

And Kutcher, the star of the revamped Two and a Half Men, tweeted last Thursday:

“When you ASSUME to know that which you know nothing of you make an ASS out of U and ME.”

But here is something a little fishy: the San Francisco Examiner notes Kutcher no longer follows Moore on Twitter! Hmm …
