According to Judge Ray Wheless, Deion, who was also granted temporary custody of he and his former wife’s children, was acting in self-defense when he injured Pilar during an incident at their $5.7 million mansion on April 23.

At the time, Deion gave a first hand testimony via Twitter shortly after it occurred, writing that his children “just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room.”

In addition to the restraining order, judge Wheless also said Pilar, 33, could face a fine for the attack and that their three children must have psychological counseling.

Full custody arrangements for the kids are still pending and a hearing for the matter is scheduled for May 15.

“In family law cases, people often say that there are no winners, but Mr. Sanders is pleased with the results today,” Deion’s attorney, Rick Robertson, said following the ruling.

Said Deion:

“I feel good; I feel good every day,” the 8-time Pro Bowl cornerback told reporters as he wheeled a large statue from the courtroom.

KHOU.com writes that the statue, a piece of art was at the center of a fight between Sanders and his estranged wife, was introduced as evidence to prove that the former two-sport star would not have been able to swing it at Pilar, as was alleged.

Deion later hopped on Twitter to share his joy regarding the outcome of the proceedings.

“The Truth was told baby! I’m doing my dance with my old falcon uniform on with my Gold jacket over it and some cleats! Lol,” Sanders posted.

Prior to their divorce and nasty ongoing custody battle, Pilar and Deion Sanders married in 1999 and starred together in an Oxygen network reality show, “Deion & Pilar: Prime Time Love.”

Deion Sanders has accused his estranged wife of assaulting him in front of his 10- and 12-year-old sons.

Pilar Sanders was arrested on domestic violence-related charges Monday night, and as usual it was left to Twitter to give us a (admittedly one-sided) running commentary on the unfolding events. Deion served up a string of peculiar tweets on Monday evening, beginning with the accusation that Pilar Sanders and an accomplice had “jumped” him:

“Pray for me and my kids now! They just witnessed their mother and a friend jump me in my room. She’s going to jail n I’m pressing charges!”

It seems Sanders was good to his word about charges, because hours later he tweeted a picture of himself and his young sons filling out complaint forms to police, along with the caption:

“filling out police reports now! Thank God for this platform to issue the Truth.”

He also added:

“I’m sad my boys witnessed this mess but I warned the police department here that she was gone try n harm me and my boys. This is on my mama!”

Sanders, who in a glittering career played for San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys and Atlanta Falcons, is now an analyst for the NFL Network. He and Pilar married in 1999 and have three children, but their subsequent divorce, initiated by Deion last September, has turned very ugly and very public.

Speaking to Dallas television station KXAS on Monday evening, Deion said:

“My kids, they are scared for their life. They just saw two women jump their dad in his own house, in his room, in my room. It’s sad. I got locks on my doors right now. Is somebody going to have to die? Is it going to be me before the court does something and get this woman out of my house? It’s absurd.”

Pilar Sanders was booked into jail Monday on suspicion of assault family violence, and a bond of $264 was set.
