Dancing With The Stars Season 9 Winner Announced

Another season of Dancing With The Stars is over and we have the results: if you don’t want to know, don’t read on from this point.

Donny Osmond was named the winner of Dancing With The Stars Season 9, beating off strong competition from Mya and Kelly Osbourne (second and third respectively.)

As in seasons past, the final celebrities had one last chance to wow the judges before the winner was announced. Those scores were then combined with the viewer vote to come up with the winner.

Other highlights from the season finale included Whitney Houston performing “Million Dollar Bill,” Jeffrey Ross giving viewers a peak in to The Loser’s Club, and all of the eliminated celebrities and their partners returning to perform a final dance.

Joanna Krupa, Jerry Springer, Steve Wozniak and Cloris Leachman competed in a Mambo competition, with Joanna winning.

The Dancing With The Stars Season 9 Pairs have been released and we’ll see a few polar opposites, like ousted politician Tom DeLay paired up with Cheryl Burke and Ozzie-spawn, Kelly Osbourne cutting rugs with Louis van Amstel. Should be a very interesting season!

Confirmed: Mark Dacascos and Tom DeLay To Compete on Dancing With The Stars

It’s official – Iron Chef America Chairman, Mark Dacascos, and former member of the United States House of Representatives, Tom DeLay, will be competing in the upcoming fall season of Dancing With The Stars.

Mark Dacascos, as well as being the notorious chairman of the Food Network’s hit show, Iron Chef America, is also a martial arts instructor. Dacascos has also appeared in a number of other acting roles, including Crying Freeman, costarring with his wife, actress Julie Condra.

Politician Tom DeLay, also appearing on Dancing with the stars, was a republican House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2005, but he was forced to step down in the wake of several high profile legal issues.

The 9th season of Dancing with the stars begins September 21 with a three night premier.

Shawn Johnson Crowned Winner of Dancing With the Stars 2009

Gymnast Shawn Johnson has been crowned the winner of Dancing With the Stars 2009.

Three contestants remained going in to tonight’s show: Johnson, Melissa Rycroft and Gilles Marini. Each contestant was asked to perform one final dance, with the judges awarding a perfect score of 30 for each performance.

Rycroft was the first to go, after Marini and Johnson tied with the most votes. A fresh round of voting, combined with the judges scores, delivered a 1% advantage to Johnson.

Johnson told the audience “This has been the best experience ever. I’ve grown so much.”

17 year old Johnson is third Olympian to have made the final of Dancing With the Stars, following in the footsteps of Kristi Yamaguchi and Apolo Anton Ohno.

Lil Kim Wardrobe Malfunction Narrowly Averted, This Time

A(nother) Lil Kim Wardrobe Malfunction was narrowly averted last night on Dancing with the Stars.

Word is that busty pint sized star Lil Kim’s wardrobe malfunctioned and she would have bared herself to the world had it not been for her quick thinking dance partner, Derek Hough, waltzing between her and the camera and alerting her to some overexposed flesh.

In an interview with Usmagazine earlier today, Derek Hough couldn’t stop laughing about partner Lil’ Kim’s wardrobe malfunction on Monday’s Dancing With the Stars.

“She desperately tried to pull a Janet Jackson!” he told Usmagazine.com after she had some trouble with her top at the end of a jive. (The blip was edited out by the time the show was rebroadcast on the West Coast.)

“Don’t say that!” Kim interrupted. “That’s a whole other show! I’d have to get paid a lot a lot of money!”

Lil kim is no stranger to wardrobe malfunctions, as this google image search for “lil kim wardrobe malfunction” suggests (turn off safe search for the nsfw pics).

I guess trying to defy the laws of physics by stuffing large heavy things into small fragile costumes and expecting everything to be covered is the hot thing these days.

Denise Richards hated by Dancing Crew, who join millions of others

Staffers with hit ABC show Dancing with the Stars are use to dealing with celebrities, but that was before they met Denise Richards.

”Denise Richards has already become the No. 1 least-liked contestant in the show’s eight seasons….” a staffer told the Chicago Sun Times, reported PopCrunch.

Show employees described the Richards as an “insecure” and “demanding” canker sore who ”complains about everything. …”

”It’s really clear that she’s one insecure woman. … She’s demanding and thinks she’s smarter than the rest of us … it’s really irritating.”

The once gorgeous actress has been a serial train wreck since her messy divorce with Charlie Sheen a couple of years back.

The eighth season of Dancing with the Stars premieres in March, and this years cast has been revealed.

The list: Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson, country singer Chuck Wicks, model/actor Gilles Marini, Denise Richards (ughhhh), mogul Steve Wozniak, 80s pop star Belinda Carlisle (win win win), rodeo star Ty Murray, singer Jewel, comedian David Alan Grier, rapper Lil Kim, Lawrence Taylor, Jackass star Steve-O, and Access Hollywood correspondent Nancy O’Dell.

Julianne Hough returns, dancing with her boyfriend Chuck Wicks.

Dancing With The Stars starts March 9 on ABC.

Cindy McCain’s Dancing with the Stars Dreams Dashed

Cindy McCain expressed interest in performing on Dancing with the Stars, Page Six reports, but Sen. John McCain “put the kibosh on it” this week, a source said. How could he ruin the fun, especially after appearing on SNL himself? Having Cindy on the show would be awesome, and frankly I’m surprised she wanted to do it. It sounds like Page Six is equally as disappointed, as is LAT’s entertainment blogger Elizabeth Snead.

The source, called “impeccably placed” by the gossip rag, claimed that “Just before Thanksgiving, Cindy McCain (above) started talks with producers to appear as a dancer on the show. She wanted to do it very badly.”

Neither DWTS‘ reps nor McCain’s reponded to queries from the press.

Brooke Burke wins Dancing with the Stars finale

Model and actress Brooke Burke has won the 7th season of Dancing with the Stars in tonight’s finale. Burke with partner Derek Hough beat runners up Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson for the title.

Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys performed in the finale, which brought back all the competitors, including Cloris Leachman who returned to dance the tango.

“You are a star,” judge Carrie Ann Inaba told Brooke after the final dance. The judge also praised Burke’s partner Derek Hough as an incredible teacher.

N Sync singer Lance Bass, who came on strong in recent weeks, finished third.

Mario Lopez is Single!

Mario Lopez and his on-off girlfriend Karina Smirnoff have decided to call it quits, just affirming the opinion (okay, my opinion) that Dancing with the Stars isn’t the best place to pick up a partner. One for life, that is.

After brushing off break-up rumors in April, Smirnoff’s rep confirmed that “Karina has parted ways with her two year relationship with Mario Lopez. The relationship wasn’t heading in the right direction.”

Just in case any lingering rumors were still hanging around about their relationship, Mario squashed it on his end, too: “Karina and I have the utmost respect for each other. She is a phenomenal and talented woman. I support her always and feel blessed to have her in my life.”

I always did want me a slice of the Slater. Does this mean that we won’t get any more super-awesome-yet-romantic jet ski snaps?
