I’m still trying to keep my stomach in one place after watching the video that shows the Flying Batman, otherwise known as Jeb Corliss, as he literally flies down a mountain in Switzerland.

As much as I would like to tack on a whole bunch of words describing how cool this is or how Jeb has to have balls made of titanium I will instead just let you view the video.

Human beings are known for doing really crazy things all in the name of having some fun and pushing the envelope and while it doesn’t matter what season of the year it is some of the most fun things take place in the heat of the summer sun; and while this idea might be a little late for this year you can keep it in mind for next summer.

So, what happens when you take a huge slip and slide going down a hill and add a slingshot type of thing and a body of water?

What you get is all kinds of insanity wrapped up in the Human Slingshot Slip and Slide.

Apparently the way it works is like this (courtesy of SlashGear):

The extreme sliding is done with the rider on some sort of lake toy that is meant to be pulled behind a boat. They hooked a towrope to the back of a four-wheeler and routed it through a pulley on the back of a truck to pull/slingshot the rider off the end of the ramp.

When you go big on this thing, you go really big. Some of the riders were flying 120 feet through the air. It looked like some of the high-flying daredevils nearly hit the other bank of the pond.

I just want to state for the record that I have never bungie jumped and never will you catch me on the end of a rubberized rope hoping I don’t smack my head into the ground at who knows how many miles per hour. So when I see something like these folks who think that swinging from 525 feet up and swooping over a canyon in a 964 foot arc with a 230 foot free fall – well – they are even crazier than bungie jumpers.

 If you happen to be going to New Zealand you can head over to the Nevis Arc and prove to everyone how brave you are; but I would suggest bringing a change of clothes for afterwards.

A French gamer who I’m guessing may have anger issues spent seven months hunting down a fellow gamer after his rival killed his in-game character in a knife fight.

Julien Barreaux, 20, saw his character killed in a virtual knife scrap last November in the popular online shooter Counter-Strike. Barreaux then spent over half a year hunting down the perpetrator, a gamer named only as Mikhael, so he could stab him for real in revenge. Egads.

When poor, unsuspecting Mikhael answered his door to Barreaux a few weeks ago, he got a knife in the chest for his troubles, just one inch from his heart. Barreaux would later tell police he has “wanted to see his rival wiped out for killing off his character.”

Barreaux was jailed for two years for grievous bodily harm, and ordered to undergo psychiatric tests and anger management therapy.

This video of a neglected girlfriend breaking her boyfriend’s PS3? Holy crap, could actually be real. This unnamed girl reached the end of her tether when she found her layabout, jobless boyfriend playing games at 3am. According to her commentary, this sort of happens a lot.

If this is fake, then I’ll say this much: it’s certainly better acted than the previous video. There are plenty of F-bombs (so NSFW), which also makes me believe this is the real thing. And then the fact the dude is playing Ghostbusters at 3am makes me think it isn’t again.

Her solution? To rationally discuss the issue with her partner like an adult take revenge on her boyfriend’s Xbox 360. Why? Because he had the BLOODY CHEEK AND TEMERITY to play games, instead of anoint her feet.

So, with a video camera rolling, our antiheroine delivers a wide-eyed rant before attacking her beau’s console with a golf club, swinging her spindly little arms with all her might.

MySpace celebrity Tila Tequila stripped off on Ustream early this morning and essentially went crazy, but unfortunately, the clip has since been yanked.

We expect it to re-surface at one point or another, but the basic gist was witnessed and recorded by many viewers. Perez Hilton transcribed one portion of the crazy, which we understand is actually only the tip of a crazy iceberg. Tila said:

“I am an angel … because I am here to save the world with my army,” said Tila. “People call me an attention whore .. or whatever … but excuse me I’m a grown ass woman and I’m confident in myself …I think a woman’s body is a beautiful thing … that’s why I’m a lesbian … I was born naked … anybody who is against that is gay and in denial.”

The ranting reportedly occurred for hours, covering everything from the cleanliness of her hoo-ha (Perez reports that at one point she removes a tampon on cam) to the alleged incident of domestic violence over which Tila is suing San Diego Chargers linebacker Shawne Merriman for $1.5m.

Ralph Peters is at it again, this time with a nutty, fearmongering New York Post op-ed that’s full of conspiracy theory insinuation about how the President is a seekrit Muslim.

Peters, who you may recall for his loud death-wishing at missing American Soldier Bowe Bergdahl, (whose status remains “missing/captured”) has a recent book and it appears he is trying to promote it by preying on xenophobia and general free-floating fear in the wake of last week’s Fort Hood massacre. Completely peeing all over the many Muslim men and women who serve this country bravely overseas and at home every day, Peters weaves an islamofascist conspiracy so thick and colorful it made that Da Vinci Code writer guy jealous. True story.

Peters seems unable or, more likely, unwilling to connect the tragedy at Fort Hood to the countless other lone-nutbag shootings we see in America. He happened to be Muslim, but Timothy McVeigh happened to be white and American just like many other lone mass killers before him. Peters claims Obama is “unwilling” to call the act “terror,” “let alone the phrase ‘Islamist terror,’” instead cautioning Americans not to “rush to judgment.” Urging to think critically rather than tar a whole segment of the American population with a terrorism brush is, to Peters, an offensive level of inaction. Peters says:

Imagine if, instead of Fort Hood, the massacre had gone down at a mosque in Detroit — carried out by a maddened Christian or Jew. Obama would’ve been aboard Air Force One before the pilots had time to file a flight plan and he would’ve been on site before the gun smoke cleared, hugging and boo-hooing and dispensing stirring rhetoric for the evening news.

Okay, so we should assume instead if a Jew shot up a Mosque, Obama would come out with guns blazing against Israel because it was some kind of Jewish conspiracy? No, that would be crazy. Because Peters’ assertions are crazy. And offensive, and ugly and misguided and pandering to the portion of our population that thought we should melt down part of Saddam Hussein’s palaces to rebuild the World Trade Center. Understanding- truly understanding- who attacked this country on September 11th and why is far more important to national security than making tenuous connections between lone acts and real, large scale terror attacks.

Peters feels that the Army is colluding to obscure the fact that shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan was motivated by his Muslim faith. Newsflash, sir. Crazy killers are often motivated by faith, whatever faith to which they subscribe. They frequently have large delusions surrounding their significance in the world and feel that they and they alone can carry out God’s will on Earth. Muslim has little to do with it, aside from it coming in this flavor this time. Arrogance and religious fervor is the true culprit in many situations like this.

Peters asks:

How many more Americans have to die, at home and in war, before our president admits that there is, indeed, such a thing as Islamist terror? Will he ever admit that it played a role in the tragedy at Fort Hood?

Could it be- could Americans (and countless Iraqi and Afghani civilians) be dying because of an ill-conceived, totally misguided foray into a tumultuous region with no clearly defined goals and no exit strategy, and of course, no strong connection to the attacks they were carried out to avenge? Peters also mentions that President Obama didn’t “lose his fabled cool” when told of the attack. Yes, he sat in a classroom calmly reading The Pet Goat while the lower half of my city burned from the deliberate sacrifice of two crowded airliners. Oh no, wait. That was his predecessor.

To lay this tragedy at the feet of the current administration is deliberate self-deception at its very worst- if anyone sowed what we just experienced at Fort Hood it was most certainly during the preceding eight years and not this one. If Army policies of deliberate political correctness truly spawned this tragedy, wouldn’t those have been in place far longer than the ten months President Obama has been in office? Indeed, one criticism heard time and again of the Obama administration is that he hasn’t done enough yet. Are we to believe he’s quietly been working behind the scenes all this time to… facilitate a random murder of troops on our home soil?

A woman in Houston, Texas won’t be facing charges after angrily killing the goldfish she shared with her boyfriend.

Police say the act is civil, not criminal, but it’s certainly effed right up. According to police spokesman Vance Mitchell, the woman became angry with her former common-law husband after her took back jewelry he’d given her. When he wouldn’t return the jewelry to her, police say he came home to find his goldfish missing.

When police visited the woman’s home in an attempt to retrieve the goldfish, they say she directed them to the kitchen, saying, “they’re in there.” Police found four of the seven goldfish, fried on a plate. When they inquired after the missing three, the woman stated, “I already ate those.”

As the goldfish were purchased when the couple was together, they are considered community property and police are unable to prosecute the woman for her actions. Authorities indicated that if the man wishes, he can pursue the matter in civil court.

A man named by the Guinness Book of World Records as being the world’s most litigious man has sued the publisher for giving him the title.

Jonathan “Johnny Sue-nami” Lee Riches of Lexington, Kentucky claims in his lawsuit that Guinness is planning to print false information about the number of lawsuits he has filed. Riches also objects to the names he is called by the publication, which include Lawsuit Zeus, The litigator crusader, the duke of lawsuits, Sue-per-man and the Patrick Ewing of suing.

According to The Spokesman-Review, Riches has previously tried to sue President George W. Bush, Somali pirates, Britney Spears, Martha Stewart, Plato, Nostradamus, James Hoffa, “Various Buddhist Monks,” the Lincoln Memorial, the Eiffel Tower and Three Mile Island.

It’s probably pertinent to note Riches current Lexington address: the Federal Medical Center, a medical facility for inmates, where he is receiving “treatment for mental-health problems.”

At last count, Riches is believed to have filed over 4,000 lawsuits.

A children’s entertainer known as “The Science Guy” was booed and abused when giving a speech in Waco, Texas recently for daring to suggest that the moon reflects the sun.

Bill Nye was in Waco participating in the local college’s “distinguished lecture series,” where he gave two lectures on topics including global warming, Mars exploration and energy consumption.

All was going well for Nye until he mentioned Genesis 1:16, which reads: “God made two great lights — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.” Nye correctly noted that the “lesser light” (the moon), is not a light at all, a fact that is elementary science 101.

According to Think Atheist, several people in the audience stormed out in fury, with one woman screaming “We believe in God!” as she left with her three children.

The one thing that always amazes me with these literal bible believing Christians is how they decide to take some parts literally, and ignore others. Take for example 1 Timothy 2:9 – 15:12 “But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” So here we have a woman screaming abuse at a man because she takes Genesis literally, but seemingly ignores Timothy at the same time. I wonder what the bible says about hypocrisy

Base jumping, that is jumping off fixed objects and parachuting to the ground is an extreme support in itself, but some stunts are more risky than others. Putting yourself on one end of a board and being flung into the air with the help of a sand compactor isn’t just dangerous, it’s beyond crazy.

This video shows one man flung into the air in perhaps one of the craziest, and dumbest base jumps of all time. Although given he started on the ground, does it count as a base jump? One last note: I’m not 100% convinced that it’s real either, because who would be this insane, plus the camera moves in a way that you don’t see the guy clearly take to the air. Commenters seem to think it’s real though.
