Courteney Cox jumped on the Twitter bandwagon this week to share her thoughts in 140 characters or less and it turns out those thoughts are geared directly towards her dog named Harley.

The Cougar Town star jumped on the social networking service last week and since she she has been showing off her cute little Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Following the picture above she tweeted on her first day of Twitter use “Somebody loves me.”

Cox has even been tweeting back and forth with fans and with ex-husband David Arquette when she wrote:

“Finally getting the hang of twittering,” and she thanked her 7-year-old daughter for helping her figure out the service by tweeting ”Thanks Coco”

Following along with her new love for Twitter and her already existing love for Harley she tweeted over the weekend:

“After a week of Cougar Town and tweeting.”

That tweeted followed a photo of a sleeping Courteney Cox with Harley curled up next to her head.

I’m all about following people on Twitter who’s work I follow but I’m not sure who Courtney Cox opened the Twitter account for, herself or her little doggy.

With the start of January comes another round of a scoop filled month at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, with highly anticipated insider info from the creators and writers of some of the best television shows in prime time.

At the same token there’s also some insight from studio executives who are usually unseen figures (with the exception of the Upfronts in May) that make the big calls usually around this time  for renewals, premature cancellations and show shuffles.

Earlier today ABC president Paul Lee said that Courteney Cox’s (is she still an Arquette these days?) Cougar Town may be benched, but it certainly isn’t out for the count, stating that “The reality is I think Cougar Town is having one of its best [seasons].We haven’t yet landed on where it’s going to go, but it’s tentatively in there for March. We’re going to give it a good launching pad… We will be [announcing a premiere date] in a couple weeks.”

Sounds promising. Unlike the case for the lone soap opera show General Hospital whose future remains uncertain. Regarding its future Lee went on to say that he doesn’t have a time frame to make the call for cancellation yet.

In terms of experimenting with its schedule Lee isn’t shying away from anything out of the ordinary. A whole new comedy night will be created and don’t be surprised if you see Cougar Town in the mix along with Happy Endings and midseason newcomer Don’t Trust the B—- in  the James Van Der Beek’s satirized comedy Apartment 23. “It will be great to have a group of great irreverent comedies together. That’s the dream.”

The shuffling around doesn’t stop there! Thursday night’s 10pm slot is going to get either pretty interesting or remain dead very quickly with a new series from Grey’s Anatomy/Private Practice creator Shonda Rhimes called Scandal. The creator’s Private Practice will move from its regularly scheduled time slot to Tuesday’s at 10pm following the Dancing With The Stars results show.

Latsly, if you’re bored with what’s already on your television screen, ABC has a slew of midseason replacements and spring replacements with Apartment 23 premiering on April 11th on Wednesday’s at 9:30pm,  and Scandal which premieres on April 5th on Thursday’s at 10pm.

Are Courteney Cox and her co-stars in Cougar Town losing their appeal to TV viewers? That’s the question being posed by fans of the show after ABC ordered a reduced number of episodes for the third season of the sitcom.

Whereas the first season of Cougar Town saw 24 episodes aired, the second season spawned only 22. Now, for the third season, only 15 episodes have been ordered, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The network’s midseason schedule was released Friday, and Cougar Town was conspicuously absent. Panicky fans immediately began to speculate the comedy had been axed, but ABC soothed their concerns, tweeting:

“Don’t worry #CougarTown fans, the show is coming back next year…we just don’t have the date yet!”

So why the brutal slashing of so many episodes? Industry experts speaking to Entertainment Weekly have suggested the smaller order is more a reflection of ABC juggling their content, rather than a statement about the quality of the show or viewing figures.

Indeed, the viewing figures have held up very well for the Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel-created sitcom – the first two seasons both averaged 7.34 million views per episode. And of course, it’s very plausible ABC is simply making more room for new shows – Shonda Rhimes’ Scandal and Krysten Ritter’s Don’t Trust the B– in Apartment 23 both appear for the first time in its new midseason schedule.

Actor David Arquette recently revealed that he’s entered the “friends zone” with estranged wife Courteney Cox. If you’re unfamiliar with the “friend zone” reference it comes from a phrase commonly used on Courteney’s hit NBC series Friends.

Courtney and David have been separated for a while now but Courteney has been one of David’s biggest supporters on Dancing With The Stars even as he’s dating someone new.

After a taping of DWTS Arquette told Access Hollywood:

We’re pretty much in the friend zone. Though we love each other and we love to laugh and have a great time, it’s difficult.

David has also revealed that 7-year-old daughter, Coco, understands her parents changing relationship.

Kids know everything — they know a lot. They feel it, they sense it. I was really honest with her throughout the whole experience. There’s not much we don’t communicate about.

It looks like the couple plans to stay friends regardless of their own relationship falling apart, they are currently working on a new sitcom which closely resembles their real life marriage, the sitcom comes to us courtesy of the production company the couple jointly own.

If they can work together, run a company together and support each other I have to say they really are in the “friend zone” which for now I’ll assume is a good thing based off David Arquette’s comments.

While David Arquette and Courteney Cox are moving ever more close to divorce that hasn’t stopped them from working together to pitch a new “friends-like” ensemble sitcom to TV reps.

According to PerezHilton the show:

“Explores the ups and downs of relationships across a group of friends, spanning 10 years.”

The show is currently titled 10 Years and is being produced by Coquette Productions, an ABC based outlet owned by the power couple.

If the show is picked up it’s believed that David will not only produce the show but also take a starring role. One rumor says part of the show will even be loosely based around the couple’s failing marriage.

Apparently Courteney Cox isn’t going to be in the show, perhaps appearing in two “Friends” during one’s lifetime is a bit too much to take.

Since their separation rumors have circulated that they could be mending fences, although neither one of the stars reps have opened up about their personal lives, for now this deal appears to be all about business between two company owners.

David Arquette on Thursday revealed through a tweet that he has now been sober for exactly 100 days.

The Scream 4 star tweeted:

“I have 100 days of Sobriety today!!! Life is beautiful.:D”

David decided to get sober and checked into a rehab center on January 2 after his sister Patricia Arquette and estranged wife Courteney Cox staged an intervention.

You may recall that during an Oprah interview in February David told the talk show host that he remembers drinking beer at the age of 4 and even smoked pot with his dad at the age of 8-years-old.

Arquette at the time told Oprah:

“When I had my first drink of beer, I was down in the basement with my dad and beer was there and I just grabbed it and drank it.

“And I remember that: It’s one of my earliest memories.”

Congrats to David for pulling off a good stretch of sobriety after such a long stretch of being off the wagon.

The just-announced trial separation of David Arquette and Courteney Cox, who met on the set of Scream 11 years ago and have a daughter named Coco together, may have been announced due to the pending release of pics of Arquette with Hollywood hanger-on Jasmine Waltz, according to several gossip sources.

In a carefully worded joint statement, the pair cited several amorphous reasons for the split, which has been in the process of occurring for months:

The success of the Sex and the City movie is driving a new TV show reunion for the big screen: Friends: The Movie.

James Michael Tyler, who played Gunther in the series, spilled the beans, saying that David Schwimmer, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry are all returning.

“Friends: The Movie is definitely on. I still keep in touch with a lot of the cast and they say that they are really keen. I am definitely on board to do the film. I really loved my time on the show and I am looking forward to meeting up with the old gang again. I just hope we can do justice to the show in a film.”

Original series writers David Crane and Marta Kauffman have been signed to write the movie, according to News of the World.

“Everyone knew the story had to be right and well written. Getting the creators on board was a massive step forward for the project. The show did lose a lot of its shine in the last few seasons, but with the actors all in the forties it would be a real interest to see how their characters have developed.”

Friends: The Movie is scheduled for release mid 2011.

Courteney Cox Arquette was on Ellen this week, talking up her new movie, Bed Time Stories with Adam Sandler and other stuff.

The Friends stuff won’t leave her alone though and she revealed she is the only cast member interested in doing a spin-off movie.

“The show was great, but I don’t know. I don’t think we’re going to do it. People keep talking about it, I wish we would.”

Then she added, “Why do I say the words, ‘I wish we would’? Then it’s going to be like, ‘Courteney wants to do the thing (movie), but the rest of the cast doesn’t.’”

Sounds like Sex and the City, but eveyone came around in the end. Could it be the same with Friends?

How would a Friends movie work, Courteney isn’t sure, “Well, it all took place around an apartment and a coffee shop so I don’t know what would we do? We went to England once, and was that great? I’m not sure,” she said.

She isn’t sure about much.
